“You came into my life and painted it in color, and I didn’t even know the sh*t was black and white”

Baby there is nothing yall can say or do that will ever make me hate Noor! I loved her down and no Noor slander will be tolerated! IDC IDC IDC!! Many have done worse for less 😆😩😏 Part two of this series took me on a ride beyond what I was expecting! Book one was the queen of spades but book two was the big joker 🃏and we were collecting all the books 😩❤️🖤.

There was a major shift in the Hill household in book two that had Noor putting every ounce of pride to the side and staking claim on what she felt was hers. She did not come this far to lose and it showed in her thoughts, words and actions. For as much as she went through in life, the ending didn’t completely shock me! Now was the plot twist plotting and twisting?! 🗣️ABSOLUTELY!! But my girl said you gotta use what you got to get what you want!!! Everyone counted Noor out assuming she was dumb, naive, inexperienced, uneducated and any other negative adjective that you can think of to attach to her when the entire time she was playing Chess ♟️ and not checkers 🔴⚫️. I’m not even mad at her!

❤️It was the “I’ve been drankin, I’ve been drankin……surf board”🤣🤣 🏄🏽‍♀️
🖤It was was loving him like SZA 🥺😪🤧
❤️It’s drunk Noor for me every time 😆😆
🖤It was their “celebration” after Dorian’s award! 🎶 We don't need the world's acceptance, they're too hard on me, they're too hard on you🎶🥰
❤️Hey 👋🏽 Dice!

TA will forever and always be in my top 5 when it comes to favorite authors! The way she challenges herself and her readers is unmatched!! This was such a good read and I can’t wait to torture myself with her next series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Needful Noor I & II

I did not see that twist coming AT ALL! When Roz starting putting 2 and 2 together i had to stop and stare into space because i just did not expect it 🤯

The whole book i was team Noor! In my head i was like i probably shouldn’t be rooting for Noor and Dorian as it was definitely an affair while his wife was still alive and suffering, but i really did just love how he reassured Noor that her past doesn’t and shouldn’t dictate her future BUT I GOT, GOT. Because Noor is a manipulative, conniving, dutty, stinkin (sorry, the Jamaican in me popped out) little *****.

I really loved that there was more than one representation of love. Dorian’s first marriage with Emmelyn was one built of respect, admiration, and potential and i feel like there isn’t anything wrong with that. Some people need that to get to the next phase of their life.

My only gripes with the books was the narrators description of Dorian’s sister. Like every once in awhile she would make reference to the fact that Dynette was a bigger girl (although Noor definitely had an eating disorder and body image issues) it was just weird to project those issues onto another character that didn’t seem to have them.

Overall, i really enjoyed this book and I’m still thinking about Noor and how i didn’t see it coming. I keep looking back and realized i clocked that her aunt never really got into an accident but my mind didn’t hold on to that fact while i was reading. Also, i felt like the book just ended out of nowhere and I was left with a few questions.

Now that was a ride, I mean I’m happy my girl got her way by hook or by crook but yeah. I mean I felt like she had been lying a little bit but I ain’t expect all that. I don’t feel bad for Dorian cus he gave weak but fine vibes any how. I guess it’s kinda like if you deal drugs who are you to judge right but Prague made it too long for me. Like sorry a lil crack dealing is fine but a rapist a weirdo with strange thoughts and fetishes that he’s sharing NO SIRRRRR. Duke had the nerve to say “WHO SENT YOU??” Lmao like WHO ELSE KNOW THE CODE to this house and know you up here freaking and geeking ? LIKE PLEASE DORIAN give us more than sexy sad man cus WTFFF. I can only respect Noor’s antics because like she said everyone in her life came with expectations and desired one thing from her so she learned the game and played it DIRTY AF but played it nonetheless. I can’t give it more than 4.5 cus it did start to drag and while the big reveal did amp it up it should’ve ended with Roz getting kissed.

WHAT THE F— 😭😭😭😭 where do I begin?!? Noor is a mfa OKAY!?! The true definition of “I want it. It’s mine.” I don’t even know how to write this review without spoiling anything so just know this was good and messy and sexy and shocking and honestly I’m speechless 😂 at one point I didn’t know who I was rooting for or what I wanted to happen in the end. Hell, I’m finished and I still don’t know lmfao.. I’m still processing.

OMG! This was GOODT. I honestly did not know what to expect with this one. I figured after the first book, there wasn’t enough to cover in a second book, being 400+ pages at that. But, this was wild.

I’m going to refrain from spoilers but I really loved Dorian and his family was so entertaining. Noor was sassier this go round and I loved it. Especially at the restaurant scene for example or when she crashed out on Dorian 😂 if you know you know 👌🏽🤭

The last 50ish pages left my jaw on the floor and had me questioning myself like - “okay, wait a minute. How did I miss this?” 😩😅 And just like the first book, I was torn with how much I was enjoying the story and the morality of it all.

I’ll definitely read more from this author in the future! 🥰

Update 12/30: 4.5/5 Combo Review for Books 1 and 2

I’ve had some time to sit and really think about this series. And as much as I dislike Noor 🤬, Takerra did an amazing job writing this story. The way she crafted these characters and their interactions really has me speechless. I hated, loved, felt bad for, and despised the FMC and that to me is an amazing writer. 😂 Both of these books took me through the motions so much that it took me almost 2 months to stop hating Noor long enough to give this amazing series a fair review. I love it when an author can make me feel something even if it’s anger 😮‍💨. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Noor x Dorian

Alexa play “What you won’t do for love”.

MIND BLOWN!!!! Nothing could have prepared me for the turn this read took. It was like being on a roller coaster ride that goes off the tracks at 100 mph! With each chapter, my stomach was literally in knots. Then the last 10% of the book left me speechless and gasping for air!

This was an immersive reading experience and the narration was top tier. There’s nothing like narrators who commit to breathing life into the characters. Great read!

psst me OFF!

I never liked Noor, something about her rubbed me the wrong way. The ending wasn’t a shock. She’s a nasty who/re that prayed on Em and plotted on her husband. Her back story seemed too fake and she never left that married man’s side. She offered nothing but dumbness and should’ve died at the end.

Dorian was a fool and swore that he could read people. I was expecting a time jump but nah. He didn’t even grieve his wife. Just jumped on gutter trash!

I don’t care I don’t care I don’t care. Needy needed that man and she got him. Fight me. He needed her just as bad. What a book and what a rollercoaster. She ain’t have to do us like that at the end like that. It takes a new level to by any means necessary!!!

Noor's ultimate goal was to get Dorian and she definitely achieved that goal in this book. Both Noor and Dorian had some secrets that they did not reveal to each other and that kind of made them a good match in a way. Now do I think Dorian moved a little fast after what happened to Emmerlyn, yes, but he was already checked out of that relationship once Noor came on the scene so it was not too surprising. It definitely did come off as he as lusting for her at first, especially since most of the time they spent together in the beginning was filled with lots of sex. However, Noor didn't seem to care since she was with him. I didn't appreciate though how didn't want her to leave town and was acting jealous when he told her that he needed to figure things out. They had an up and down relationship and while I shouldn't have wanted them to be together, once they expressed themselves to each other and the family got on board I did want them to make it and for Noor to get her HEA. Now I was not expecting that twist but I guess sometimes you have to put things in your own hands and I liked how Ms. Allen tied the Prologue to the ending of the book. This was definitely an interesting ride but overall a good read.

Absolutely captivating! Painful but still captivating!

Even in book # 2, the people around Noor continued to treat her like a worthless throw away, and she is so much more than that. . Thank GOD for Dorian's mother and twin sister. They were only part of the few that treated Noor with the respect she deserved. Noor wasn't perfect . Sometime she responded, in a super negative way to the horrible things she was forced to endure. I'm surprised she wasn't up on a roof somewhere with a weapon of mass destruction!

Even her so called "bestie", Roz, is still as selfish as ever. She should be happy that Noor is finally getting something positive out of her horrible life. But no, selfish Roz is till making it about her. Incredible story!

What in the world?! Noor played the heck out of me! I need a part 3 though because I just know that Dorian is smarter than that, especially with everyone around him keep alluding that Dorian’s not to be played with. The author did a great job in book 1, having me emotional and having empathy for Noor, then in book 2 I’m just like whatttt? Noor is a sneaky and damaged lady. I hope she gets the help she deserves.

Even though this is titled the conclusion, I need more lol.

What a fantastic conclusion to this story.

I really enjoyed book 2 as we got to know Noor more and experience more of her with Dorian. I would highly recommend this series.

Don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll keep it short and just say read this if you want a book that will keep you on your toes anticipating the FMC and MMC next moves.

I took my time reading this. Wow this book was one for the books like I didn’t see it coming. I was so happy for her rooting for her and she was a conniving little witch.

Like til the end I did not see it coming She outsmarted so many people. I am glad Roz did not become a casualty.

Highly recommend this series. A must read.

This book is a real moral test and conversation starter. Reading both books in the series is important and I will say you will read this book and have to pick a side and test your morals lol. One thing about it... couldn't be me. I do think they were hunchingggggg which didn't show me all of the development but that's okay too.

Noor did what she had to do. DON'T FIGHT ME!!!!

Such a good book! It left me conflicted since I understood all parties involved. Yes, Noor’s manipulation shocked and frightened at the end, but Dorian was just a manipulative as she was. They were in essence the same, just happened to pursue it differently. I didn’t feel like any of the main characters in this book had clean hands, they all had ulterior motives in some capacity. I wanted to believe Noor was pure, but hurt people hurt people. Both masks will slip eventually. Very well written and it kept me engaged.

Book 1 was a challenging read for me because it seemed like I was supposed to feel sorry for Noor due to her circumstances growing up and turn a blind eye to her intentionally pursuing another woman’s husband. I could never like or respect a character/person like that; no matter his/her sob story. We all go through $h!t. It’s not an excuse to make immoral decisions or purposely use and hurt people. I feel how I feel and I don’t play about or with God’s covenant.

Now, we have Book 2. And I still didn’t like or respect Noor as I read this book. At first, I couldn’t quite put my finger on why I wasn’t feeling this female character. Her sob story wasn’t manipulating me into feeling sorry for her and agreeing she deserved Dorian’s love and his family. I thought the reason I could not like this character was due to my feelings about her coming out of Book 1. Because again, I do NOT play about God’s covenant. But as I got towards the end of book 2 and some shocking information was revealed, I realized it’s the discernment that God has gifted me with that made me not like Noor before knowing just how treacherous her manipulation went. I knew she was not a good person (yes, I know it is fiction, but regardless, there are many people out there like Noor and my discernment can spot people who are not good for me like a hawk). There’s no excuse for manipulating people, using people, or intentionally initiating infidelity. Those choices/actions are what made Noor not a good person in my eyes. Every adjective that Roz used to describe Noor during the confrontation at the end was accurate and why Noor is not a good person in my eyes.

Don’t get it twisted, Dorian was no saint. But he at least tried to do the right thing in putting his kids feelings first when he realized how his decisions affected one of them. He developed the feelings he had for Noor from an organic and genuine place. Whereas, Noor plotted her way into Dorian’s life. Her “love” for Dorian came off more as obsession than actual love, in my opinion.

I understood the message that Takerra Allen was trying to get across in this book. Regardless of our circumstances or actions of the past, we shouldn’t be judged by our past, we are still deserving of grace, happiness, having the life that will bring that happiness, and going after what we feel we deserve. However, it’s the method in which one obtains what they deserve that will have me either rooting or not rooting for the person. And Noor’s choices in how she went about obtaining what she felt she deserved was deplorable, in my opinion.

Takerra Allen penned a well-written book, as usual. She penned well-developed characters. She evoked emotions within me. She challenged me as a reader. She even had me almost feel sorry for Noor for a split second. Almost. Hell, she had me more willing to extend grace to the actual adulterer (among other things), Dorian. It’s those reasons and more why I rated this book 5 stars regardless of how the content upset my spirit at times. That is the work of a great author.

You want to talk about a PLOT TWIST! You think you know, but you literally have no idea. I’m stuck between applauding Noor and wanting her to teach a class, and cautious because I’m curious on what else she’s capable of.

Regardless Noor DESERVED HAPPINESS. No matter what, the cards she was dealt in life was unfortunate, and it was extremely heartbreaking the things she went through from her childhood and adulthood. Life’s obstacles forced her to learn how to become a survivor in some of the worst situations, so she had to conjure up a plan to get the life, love, happiness, fulfillment, and protection she desired.

And though some people may want to debate on how Noor went about getting the life she ultimately lived, you have to keep in mind she NEVER forced Dorian’s hand at anything. She figured out how to get herself in position, and things unfolded how they did. The major parts of her life’s story and the hardships she faced is what drew him to her. Even when he learned some of the ugliest parts of her past he was still drawn to her and decided to stay and fell for her deeper.

Life kept playing Noor and she was able to successfully come up with a game plan and play it back.

I do feel bad for how things turned out with Emmelyn, but her overall predicament when it came to her health was a result of her own reckless actions. So it’s unfortunate that led to her deterioration. But with or without Noor’s presence, the ending result would’ve probably been the same at some point.

Dorian’s sister greatly pointed out that his marriage to Em was a power move and was for convenience at the time that they got together. Love did come at some point, especially with the children’s presence, but the way Dorian expressed how he felt about being with Noor proved he had never been madly in love prior.

So though I ended up feeling bamboozled towards the end, I also have a great deal of understanding when it comes to how Noor moved when securing her happiness.

Now let’s just hope she’s able to keep those secrets well buried like Roz suggested. That means, Roz, Mitch and all those co-workers from that diner in Inglewood need to be handled accordingly so she can continue to live in her happiness.

P.S.—As someone born and raised in Brooklyn, where are the real life Dorian Hills? I need Noor to help me come up with a plan. 😩

Damn this book waa good. After book 1, I was convinced Noor killed Em. I waited the entire book for that to be revealed. I'm so happy I was wrong. She didn't do it even though she considered it. So, how do I feel about Noor after everything in book 2? I still rock with Noor. What did she do that was so bad? She manipulated some situations in her favor to get what she wanted and she pretended not to know Dorian and his family. So what? People do that and much worse all the time. She was in a messed up situation and had a effed up life. Idc that she used Mitch to get to Jersey. They were consenting adults. I don't like that she began working for Em and was plotting to steal her man. Thats grimey. But Em was stupid and overly confident until it was too late. Why she let a beautiful, young, sexy, single woman live with her is beyond me. She invited temptation into her home. Im sorry. Thats her dumb ass. Aint no way.

She may have targeted Dorian but i think she really loved him and vice versa. I don't know what Roz thought she was revealing or confronting Noor about. The only thing she had was 2nd hand info from Mitch that Noor knew who Dorian was. Please. The contents of that box could've been obtained at any time. Noor could easily explain that away as her trying to learn about Dorian after she got the job. Also, not sure why Roz felt compelled to look into Noor's past but Noor can dispute everything she said. I def wouldn't be afraid of her revelations. And I'd beat her to the punch and tell Dorian some of it.

Overall this was an excellent series. 👌

Yeah! Baby that plot twisted my ass speechless. It’s been a minute since I wrote a review. TA never disappoints me.

When I say baby I was rooting for Noor DOWN! Like don’t even talk to me cuz baby Noor and Dorian were made for each other. Even after the schemin I was just praying that secret stayed safe.

The universe looked out for my girl real good and I loved that for her. It’s so easy for me to get lost in TA’s book. Like she just gets it. When I say I was so giddy when I saw my baby Dice being featured. Ugh still want him with his own story. Another thing I love about TA her men leaves a lasting impression on you.

Roz was so weak in the knees and Em rest her darling soul was the prime example of fuckwitable cuz baby Needy swooped in and showed you who to play with. 🥴

Oh my…. I was team Noor all book 1 and part of book 2. Then she started to get a bit odd to me. Her reaction to Dorian breaking up with her to deal with his kids felt a bit “off”. Noor is truly a sociopath. 😩I now question if she really love him or if it’s an obsession disorder she manifested for him. Her childhood was not easy. I get that, but Sis truly flipped a switch and manipulated her way into a family and money. This was an odd ride. Lol. The author really made you question your own sanity and what you actually read and witnessed what the characters said and did. Enjoy MRS NEEDY (Hill) she truly scrapped her way to the top! Lol

Okay so part two!! I will say this book had me in all of my emotions. You know it’s a good book when you get angry, sad, turned on and defensive. Yes all of those emotions at different times.
Yeah Noor had some issues with her and she may have been a little psychotic or maybe just infatuated about things but she said what she wanted and she manifested it.
Her life story was what it was and she used what they made her to be and got it all!

I really enjoyed this book!! FYI I am a social worker and this story is someone’s life with different outcomes! Noor just ensured her life had the best outcome.

Dorian Hill. Dorian MF Hill! That man that man!!! Mmmm!

I AM TEAM NOOR TO THE END. Nothing nobody can say to make me hate her, I’m sorry! Not even that dumb ass reveal at the end. Was I shocked yes, but still. Noor saw something she want and went after it and i ain’t mad at it!!
