Margit Sandemo was a Norwegian-Swedish historical fantasy author. She has been the best-selling author in the Nordic Countries since the 1980s, when her novel series of 47 books, The Legend of the Ice People, was published. She has also written many other book series such as Häxmästaren and Legenden om Ljusets rike.
Taran is the first character in this book that really irks me. Everything about her is annoying and cringe worthy.
I won't write 10 paragraphs explaining why I hate her. Others did not like Catherine, I do not like Taran. Simple as that. Plus I disliked the guardian spirit as well, his development felt very unatural.
This book hyped me up though due to the fact that it's a crossover with The legend of ice people. Takes place in the same uinverse!
That alone made me want to rate it higher than 1 star. Till the author said that Taran is similar to Sol. What an insult! Now I feel like giving this book minus 1 star rating.
Not to mention that everything else is horrible about this book. Apart from romance we got antagonists going after Taran's life. It's no secret that Margate is horrible at making evil characters. They were all lame and obviously didn't stand a chance.
