The gods are here. Time to expand or be consumed. With the gods now aware of his existence, a desperate Smit finds a sliver of hope that could help him survive—a long forgotten entity, more ancient than the Ascended themselves. Yet searching for it sends him closer to the abyss and the demons that wait within.
Gathering his allies, Smit must dive into the unknown dungeon and guide his creatures against his own kin. If he fails in this dangerous gamble for his survival, Smit will find himself subdued forevermore as a slave to the new gods.
If he succeeds, he’ll be one step closer to ascending to godhood himself…
I just love Smit the dungeon, who had started out from nothing, but who has now grown so powerful and who was on his way to Godhood. However in this book he is forced to face the gods, both those from the past and the new ascendants as they pose a threat to his dungeon, his family and the whole of Nam. Ikfes, the guild master, the King, and the queen of the elves all visit Smit to encourage him to take on the threat, and in doing so he puts his own children's lives at great risk and nearly loses his own life as he comes up against demonic power which has enslaved and corrupted another dungeon. I really, really enjoyed this book, it is one continuous thrill and I cannot wait to see what Smit has to face and create further in order to reach Godhood.
I ripped through this book in what was essentially one long sitting on the day it was released. I love this story and it characters so much that I barely even notice any typos (there were a couple). The story maintains a high tempo moving through events and sucks you in and drags you along for the ride.
A fun continuation of the series, although it does get bogged down with non-dungeon core plot lines where the weakness of the writing is really evident. Also, Smit really makes some stupid tactical decisions that aren’t believable and which irked me. I’ll keep reading because I really liked the balance of Smit’s dungeon building, crafting, and growth of his family.
The Dungeon is now on the path of divinity. And the gods are coming. It rebuffs multiple gods invaders trying to subjugate it. It also expands to contact other dungeons and grows in power. It’s a fun listen with a great narrator. The series’ books are not standalone. It has a good pace and is immersive and captivating. Please enjoy
A well developed story that is evolving in a very impressive way. Well developed characters that carry on in a determined manner. More of what I have come to expect from the author.
Interesting story line, I look forward to more crafting, more levels and more evolutions. Keep up the good work. I would like it if the hanging gardens could have a full run and for them to discuss the cross.
A really interesting dungeon story. I highly recommend reading this entire series as well as this book. I look forward to the next one in the series series.
Really great dungeon core. Very underrated. The dungeon was really cool and the plot was interesting. I love that serious tone of the series. There isn’t any obligatory comic-relief dungeon fairy which is very refreshing. I really enjoyed this one.
