The only thing this wedding planner didn't plan on was him...
Being the top wedding planner in Door County prepared me for anything. But when I got hired to plan a week-long wedding celebration for an affluential family, one thing threw me for a loop… the man who broke my heart in college showing up as the best man.
And damn… he looked good.
I hadn’t seen Carter since I’d bolted from Hawaii where we’d met on spring break ten years ago. Our whirlwind romance had only lasted a week, but after we’d parted ways, he’d become a permanent resident of my heart. No matter how hard I tried to evict him over the years, my feelings for him refused to budge.
After crashing back into my life, he wanted to win me back. With all his attention focused on me, it would take everything I had not to end up back in his arms.
Just make it through the week and ignore those gorgeous eyes, his tight abs, the knee-quaking smile, and the unrelenting charm wearing me down every step of the way.
I could do this. I could.
At least that was the plan. And in my world, plans always went my way… or at least they did until Carter waltzed back into my life.

hmm~ the book is fine in general but the author keep indicating that the series is a romantic comedy. however when i was reading this book, i totally didn't laugh at all, don't get where the humor is to be honest.
The Other Plan by Katherine Hastings is the latest installment in the Door Peninsula Passions series and is a must-read for lovers of romantic comedies! Jenna is a successful wedding planner who loves her job more than anything. She has a glowing 5-star reputation in Door County, and nothing will test her meticulous wedding planning skills like a ceremony for a family who is all but royalty – the Bronson’s. This won’t be the first even she’s planned for the family but it might quickly become the most unforgettable. She and her assistant Cameron have worked themselves to exhaustion to make sure Eric and her best Valentina have the perfect day. Her plans were going off without a hitch until the one thing she couldn’t prepare for changed everything – Carter Sullivan being Eric’s best man. Shocked doesn’t begin to describe how they fell when they lay eyes upon each other. They met ten years ago on spring break in Hawaii, and their connection was undeniable. But when spring break ended, so did their “relationship.” They’ve both been carrying around bitterness and resentment for a decade, and the tension between the two of them seems indestructible. It’s all because of a misunderstanding from their week in Hawaii. With the help of her assistant and sister, Jenna does everything she can to avoid Carter. I enjoyed Jenna and Carter’s story as much as the first two books in this series. Their relationship is complicated but somehow becomes awkwardly funny along the way. I had a combination of feelings throughout this story, and it will be one that I read over and over again.

College spring break sweethearts Jenna and Carter fell in love at first sight on a Hawaiian beach, and were heart-shattered days later when she believed she saw him intimate with her tour-assigned roommate. Now, a decade later, she is an established and successful wedding planner in Wisconsin, when he appears out of the blue as the best man at her most important client's family wedding.
Jenna spends a lot of time nursing old hurts and grievances and building barriers to protect herself from new disappointment and pain. Many of her issues stem from jumping to conclusions instead of discussing the situation in a mature manner. Carter is more open to reaching out to discuss problems and brainstorm mutually agreeable solutions.
The characters in this story were very engaging and inclusive of others, even those they employ. This book is part of a series. I have not yet read those books, but I do not feel anything was missed in this plot by having jumped into the middle of the series. I do plan to go back and read those books when I have time. All the books in the series are currently available in KU.

The Other Plan is the third instalment of the Door Peninsula Passions series. It’s a second chance at love story.
Jenna and Carter met on a spring break holiday ten years prior when they meet again at a wedding event. One that Jenna has planned and where Carter attends as best man. Even after a decade their deepest feelings for each other haven’t changed, but the way they parted all those years ago hurt both of them a lot. Add an ex-fiancée to the mix and it even gets more complicated. Unless they actually talk to each other and figure things out together, there will never be any relationship possible between them.
I really liked this book! As always Katherine Hastings did not disappoint. This was a great book. I loved the characters, and how they developed (there were a few characters from earlier books as well), the storyline and (very important) the swoon worthy epilogue.
Solid 4.5 star I absolutely loved this book, I absolutely loved Jenna and how put together she is with her business but turns into a bit of a hot mess when Carter shows up. Carter and Jenna definitely had a connection when they first met years ago and no one can deny there is still loads of attraction going on so while Jenn tries dodge him her friends decide it's time she looks for love whether she wants to or not. There are loads of laughs, awkward situations, loveable characters and an attraction that deserves to be explored while letting go of the past and seeing how amazing being in love can be. I haven't read the first two books, but after meeting the characters from them I want to go back and see how they get together!!

This is the first book I've read in the series but I felt the author did a good job of giving enough information regarding the recurring characters that I didn't feel either lost but not so much that it bogged down the story. Things I loved about this story are the small town, wonderful mix of characters, the humor, and the chemistry between Carter and Jenna. A misunderstanding from 10 years ago leads to some interesting situations for Carter and Jenna when see each other. Eventually they talk and find out what actually happened, but that doesn't mean there is a clear path to happiness for them. This is a fun, lighthearted story with some emotional parts that make the ending all that much better.
Jenna is recognized as the top wedding planner in Door County. Her popularity keeps her very busy. She is hired to handle a week-long wedding celebration. And then she finds that her love from college days is the best man. She had met Carter in Hawaii 10 years ago when they were on Spring break and had a passionate week together. She never got over him, nor the heartbreak when they had left each other.
Finding Jenna in his life again, Carter wanted her back in his arms. Aside from his amazing good looks, he was charming and focused totally on her and winning her heart. Would she cave and accept him back? Did he already own her heart? Could she ignore him for this one week? Or did he have something else in mind?
I liked this charming, funny, second chance romance. The setting and secondary characters are excellent. What I loved most is the eventual connection between Jenna and Carter. While this is very engaging, what I did not really like was how Jenna approached problems and her past with Carter at first. Although it is a common trope, the "if they had just talked things would have been resolved X years ago" doesn't serve this story well. The connection is there and Carter comes off as being stronger and more mature than Jenna.
Will love conquer all or will Jenna let her fears get in the way of happiness?.

The Other Plan by Katherine Hastings brings us back to the Door Peninsula Passions series, with a sexy rom-com and second chance love story revolving around Jenna and Carter. Jenna is the spunky, well-loved wedding planner that has sworn off love while Carter is the long lost love from years ago and happens to be the best-man in the wedding Jenna is currently planning. The story that follows is one full of smiles, tears, and laugh out loud moments that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. I am loving this entire series and hope that we will have more stories from this wonderful world of characters by Katherine Hastings.
If you love funny, steamy rom coms filled with passion, hot tension, great characters and a love story to make you swoon, don’t miss this book! The Other Plan follows one of my favorite Door Peninsula characters, Jenna, on her own love story… a love story starring her and her ex, Carter. And wow. I looooooooved his character! Charming, funny, sexy, mischievous, and… did I say sexy yet? Yum! This book was just nonstop fun from the first page to the last. This whole series has been fantastic and it’s a must-read if you love rom coms. I’m hoping there will be more after this one!
finding your happily ever after when you thought you lost it I loved this book soooo much I loved how there was a family (kinda 2nd family), friends and lost love relationships the only thing that annoyed me was that one of the main characters was a runner (runner as in everytime they got upset, embarrassed or hurt they ran) this author writes a book very well and you can get into it didn't want to put this book down def sucked me in. She is a wedding -planner and the best where she lives so planning a week long wedding will be nothing to worry about. She is shocked when she sees who the best man is, he is the one she lost her heart to many years ago. It had only lasted a week and she had to admit he looked great. Will they reunite? Can they make it a second time? Will they take that step? Can they make it this time? Follow them to find what will happen to them

I adore this series and Katherine Hasting’s writing. I was so excited for another A Door Peninsula passions instalment, and this book didn't disappoint! In fact, I think The Other Plan might be my favorite yet - although I think I may have said that before :) Easy to read but impossible to put down, this book will have you laughing, tearing up, swooning, and eagerly hoping for more by this talented author...Loved it. Bring on the next book please. Happy reading everyone
Great second chance romance with event planner Jenna and Carter who first met ten years ago on spring break in Hawaii. They enjoyed a week long romance but it ended when she thought he was also involved with some one else. When the wedding she planned takes place she is shocked to see Carter as best man and she tries to avoid him but he will not let her get away this time.
Was a highly entertaining and emotionally thrilling read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this heartwarming, laugh out loud fun journey filled with relatable and engaging charters, witty banter, exciting twists and undeniable passion.
This is a fun short story about finding love again. The characters are very good and the story believable. Carter and Jenna have a surprise meeting after ten years and many obstacles to overcome.
Not my favorite. Jenna was a little too whiny for me. It seemed this story kind of catapulted off her sisters and was way too similar. It was still cute and enjoyable
Love this book and the entire series!! Very quick read! I have been to door county many times, so the setting resonates with me. Check out door county…the fall colors are breathtaking!
