I gave up searching for an enduring love centuries ago. When my past walks through the door, I think I may have finally found it.
My history is a sad one, filled with longing and chasing dreams that always eluded me. But don’t feel bad for me. My life is incredible, unwittingly designed on my endless quest to find my fated mate. I created a beautiful family of five loyal and loving brothers. We have even more now with their mates and our lovely sisters in the mix. I couldn’t ask for more really, and the joy they bring soothes some of the lonely nights. Mostly.
All is well in New Onyx until my past blows the door down and I find out that everything I thought was true for centuries isn’t at all. The first man I truly loved is back and if that wasn’t shocking enough, we have a big, dangerous problem on our hands.
My heart wants to believe in second chances, but my mind knows all too well the pain of loss. As strong as I am, I’m not sure I could endure losing Damiano again. I may not have a choice though if we can’t work together to eliminate the threat that could destroy everything I’ve worked so hard to build.
When it’s all over, if we’re successful, maybe, just maybe, I’ve finally found what I was always searching for, and Damiano can see it was always, inevitably me.
Inevitably Yves is the sixth and final book in the Immortal Assassins series, a contemporary setting, MM romance featuring vampire assassins finding love with their fated mates. Book six features a melancholic, centuries-old vampire who gave up his search for the fated love he sought. This story has intrigue, a shocking discovery, a bitter, broken love interest in desperate need of comfort, and a swoony, steamy history between two vampires thousands of years in the making.
Honestly, I’m about to DNF halfway through because I’m really, really bored. I’ve been feral for Yves’ story for soooo long but…this is such a letdown. The meeting and falling in love has already happened before the story begins. That’s like the whole reason I read romance. The language is flowery, antiquated, and silly, way more than the acceptable amount in the previous books. Damiano is a throwaway character with no personality of his own. I just feel really cheated out of what was supposed to be an epic love story.
Also, one tiny detail that just irked the crap out of me: At one point, Damiano says “Thousands of years ago you rescued my soul from the devil himself.” Yves was turned in 1350….. The math ain’t mathing.
I dunno… am I the only one disappointed??? I love Yves, and there was soooo much buildup for him finding his fated mate - I wanted to read about him meeting his mate, falling in love, all the while vampire shenanigans were going on all around them… instead, we kind of get ripped off - he already loves Dami, they are instantly all over each other, and we miss their first meeting, their first kiss, etc… because it already fucking happened CENTURIES ago! I wanted to read him seeing his fated mate for the first time, finally finding him, and his reaction, his pursuit of him, etc… ☹️. And Dami… I think his only personality trait is that he loves Yves… what a dullard! I wanted so much more for Yves… Soooo disappointed… like biting into a delicious-looking donut, only to find it’s filled with fucking mayonnaise…
Now that is how you finish off a series! With a love so strong that even separated centuries once they come together again, the love is so pure they can not question it. I am so happy to say that Mia did Yves the justice he deserved. As the leader of this New Onyx Coven, he has shown that peace is possible when you work together and respect all people. Yes, people are taken care of when the rules are broken, but isn't that how it should be? I am looking forward to seeing what Mia had in store for us now that this series has concluded.
Oof, this one fell flat. My least favourite of the series. Which is disappointing since they really built it up. I didn’t like how the flowery language was really ramped up for this one. It really got on my nerves. And I really felt like I didn’t know Damiano at all. He was just this faceless man whose whole personality was flowery language. And the romance was not a huge part of this book. It’s a second chance romance. Yves was in love with Damiano long before he met Syn or any of the others, but he thought he was dead. When they meet again they immediately take up again where they left off with no difficulty. Completely in love. So we don’t get to see the falling in love part happen. Most of the book focuses on Yves maker returning as the big bad. Yves and Damiano’s relationship was so easy that it was almost an after thought. If not for the flowery language you would forget about it. I’m ready to move on from this series.
I'm sorry, but this was terrible. Damiano was terrible and kind of a bad influence on Yves. This is not the story I was expecting for the great love of Yves. It was honestly 20 some odd chapters of summarizing the first five books. Damiano kept repeating the same monolog to Yves. Ugh, I want a rewrite. Scrap the whole thing and give Yves a new love.
What a delightful end to the series. I’ve been anxiously waiting to see how it would all play out for Yves and it was better than I imagined.
Damiano and Yves were like a breath of fresh air. They truly went together so perfectly. The love they had for one another was palpable. They came together under extreme adversity and allowed their love to guide them through. While this book certainly had its hot moments, I was living for the moments that two soul mates expressed how dark and empty their existence had been without the other. The story was sad, yes, but extremely hopeful.
This was a beautiful wrap up and I adored this story from start to finish.
I’m so glad Yves got his HEA. I have many questions though about how these two never realized they were fated. And if they were fated, then how come they had so many relationships with others? Kinda negates the fated mates mythology.
The conflict with Hadrian was over so quickly and I just never felt the connection between Damiano and Yves. Thought it was strange that they called each other by those names and not the names from when they were younger. I almost wish that Yves had a new love interest and not someone from his past. I think it would have fit better. Glad I read this series though just a little disappointed in the ending.
So boring. After all the build up in the prior books, Yves was a real letdown in the end. I expect romances to be, well, romantic. And if they can’t be romantic, they should at least be entertaining. This was neither. For me, this is one of those times when finale ruins the whole series.
“Five hundred and seventy-one long years since I last saw your face. Four months, two weeks, and three days.” - Damiano

My Notes: - In Raphael’s story, he talks to Yves and Yves mentions the love he lost in Paris, saying his name was “Tadhg”. Tadhg is a masculine Irish name meaning ‘poet’ or ‘philosopher’. The name/word wasn’t brought up again but it made me wonder if Yves said this so as to not say his real name? - In Yves’ story, Dami says his eyes are hazel. In the previous stories they were grey or green, so maybe this is a more accurate account. - Even though this story seemed to have a lot less spicy scenes, or at least feel that way, it still came across as the most emotional and intimate. I found myself heartbroken for them often and could feel the love in their words. I just loved how they both spoke. - The build up to Yves’ story was epic, and rightfully so. If being apart from your fated mate is painful, I can’t imagine what all this time apart must have felt like. - After this, my recommendation to others would be to read Hale’s story: (Feral, Wicked Nights At Lair #1) - I would love to read about Paolo, Tiago, and Hemsley! - Damiano mentions maybe one day turning someone and adding to the family. I think that would be so sweet and would love to see their family grow. I think Dami would also love having a connection to someone and being their maker.

Inevitably Yves is the sixth and final book in Mia Monroe's Immortal Assassins series. I think it could technically be read as a standalone, but it's probably more enjoyable read in order. Here's what you can expect from Yves and Damiano:
🖤 MM paranormal romance in a contemporary setting 🖤 First person dual point of view 🖤 Guaranteed happily ever after 🖤 Fated mates 🖤 Found family 🖤 A second chance romance centuries in the making 🖤 Black magic
As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading.
Urgh, I wanted to love Yves's story, I really did but this was probably my least favourite of the six books. We've been waiting for Yves to get his happily ever after. He's been patiently waiting as his brothers find their fated mates. He loves his brothers so much, and their coven is so strong. But there's a lot we still didn't know about Yves. We know nothing was the same since Marcello, and we also know that he descends from one of the original vampires, making him one of the most powerful in the world.
I think out of the six books, this one was probably the most disjointed. Yves finds Damiano very early in the book after centuries of being a part. I don't want to spoil the story, as there are a lot of twists and turns and a plot for survival and revenge. Because they find each other so early in the story, I wasn't sure what to expect from the rest of the book. It felt like it was a lot of repetitive dialogue and then a very quick conclusion in the last couple chapters. It just didn't work for me. I thought Yves and Damiano were very lovely together, but I don't think we truly got to see their personalities which was disappointing. I found the final "battle" with the aggressor to be over-the-top and not in a good way.
I did enjoy watching the vampires of North America bind together to pave the way for their future. I wish we could've seen a little more of Yves's brothers and their mates, especially now that his family is "complete" in that sense. The spice, swoon, and sheer decadence between Yves and Damiano made this book enjoyable and in all honesty, seeing how things played out was what kept me going. I'm looking forward to hopefully some cameos in Mia's new series as well as a continuation of the New Onyx universe, starting with Feral.
Overall, this series is low angst and has lots of vampires doing vampire thing! A little disjointed and chaotic at times, but if you're looking for something easy and a little over-the-top, this is a great choice.
"I swear to every god you were made for me...it's the only way it could be this perfect."
YVESSSS!!! If ever there was a vampire who deserves an epic love story it's Yves. Throughout the entire Immortal Assassins series we have seen Yves be an amazing maker and leader of the House of Orpheus. He's always there for his brothers, whether for advice or just as a listening ear. He's shown immense happiness when each of his family members found their fated, all the while knowing his chance at such happiness likely died when the love of his life did.
I didn't know what to expect of the man who owned Yves heart. Damiano both was and wasn't what I pictured. It was obvious from the very beginning how much the man adored Yves. For his love to have lasted as long as it did no one could argue it wasn't true. He spent much of the book professing his feelings in flowery words and reminding Yves of how much he meant to him. It was lovely seeing Yves finally get the love he so desperately wished for.
"No matter what life threw at me, this love was destined. It was always, inevitably, Yves."
On the flip side of the coin, Damiano was less, I don't want to say mature, but he embraced his vampire nature with things like preferring to feed from the vein. His resurfacing also brought out long buried desires in our beloved Yves that broke my heart to know he spent so long repressing. Yves lit up with Damiano near and all of the brothers, though wary at first, were absolutely thrilled to see their maker so happy.
"All of our dreams are complete now, for none of us could be truly happy until you found the love you deserve. What a joy to know you have."
Yves is the last of the original Orpheus crew to find his mate, but that does not mean this world is done. Monroe has informed us there are more books to come and I can't lie and say I am not hoping a certain wily incubus will get a book in the future! There is also Hale and Tiago left unmated. There are so many directions this world could go and I am looking forward to finding out!
I knew we were building to something huge with the final book of this series. There were hints all along about what it could possibly all be leading to. And while I definitely saw Yves' mate coming, I did not see the final conflict coming. I had that pegged completely incorrectly.
With Yves confronted directly with his past, all he can do is face it head on. Especially when the man he loved so many centuries ago comes back into his life in the most explosive way possible. And for them, it's like no time has passed at all.
Yves and Damiano have a shared trauma unlike any other - they are both the first vampires to be born of the blood of the first ever vampire. They are legacies. And they suffered for it, for their maker was tyrannical, cruel, and abusive. And that's who they face now. But now they face him together.
Throughout this whole series, the House of Orpheus has been waiting for Yves to find his happily ever after. Naturally, they are a little leery of the man long thought dead. But the connection between Damiano and Yves is unmistakable. Though separated by time, their hearts were never truly apart.
But deeper than that is the connection that Yves has with his coven, his chosen family, those he chose to turn and those he didn't. That connection is born of true strength and power - true love - and that's what truly makes this story, and this series, so incredible.
I love watching how this family comes together time and time again to suppor each other, be there for each other, and to respect each other unconditionally. If that isn't true love, then I really don't know what love is.
I loved this series so much. It was exactly what I needed to read at this moment in my life. It showcased the romance, heat, and sweetness of romantic love. But it also hugely showcased familial love, platonic love, friendship love. It showcased so many different kinds of love that can be overlooked in all genres, not just romance, and that's what truly made this series special to me.
I loved every moment of the House of Orpheus finding their fated mates. But I also adored their love for each other, and how beautiful that was to experience.
The “last book in the series syndrome”, as I call it, attacks again. I don’t know if because the author is tired of the series but needs to finish, or if is just because there’s a certain buildup with it. Yves’ book was supposed to be the best due to the build up and expectations created in the first 5 books. Instead we had an idea that did not develop well. I liked the idea that Yves’ mate was someone from his past and it made sense that it was Damiano due to what happened in his absence. BUT I didn’t like how they suddenly meet, exchange two words and suddenly all is well. I wanted to see the flashback of their first encounter, their first kiss, their final day and how they break up due to Hadrian’s mind coercion. We were robbed of that. We got bits here and there instead. What we got were OTT love declarations and Damiano’s presence as decoration piece. We didn’t learn anything about him, his past or what exactly he did after leaving Yves. The huge build up for the battle ended up super quickly because these vampires were drugged, zombified and rotten. So all the fear for the army Hadrian was creating was for nothing. The Admiral’s inclusion ended up being laughable. For months they knew what he was doing and did nothing. The moment he attacked a boy they know, they are all “why we let him do this and we need to kill them all”. The Admiral’s himself was a moron. The fight with the power of love was stupid, honestly. They are all assassins for hire to manage their bloodlust but suddenly all they need was love as an antidote for Hadrian’s dark magic. Their final conversation was dragging forever and, for the love of me, why Yves and Damiano did not have a dagger to chop his head off since this was the main part of their plan? All the talk and them subduing Hadrian and I was like “why the fuck they just don’t cut his head off”? The series started strong with Syn and Bowie but unfortunately didn’t finish in the same way. The same thing with Thorn’s book were the hedonist vampire was a shadow of what we saw in the first books.
This book (as well as the last one, honestly) felt like the author just wanted to be done with this series, which is a shame because Yves and Thorn were probably the most anticipated.
The romance: terrible. I’m not a big fan of second chance romances in general because one of my favourite parts of romance is watching the fall. I feel like I’ve missed out on ‘the good stuff’ with a couple that’s already in love (supposedly). For all the flowery declarations of undying adoration and filler sex, they’re not a believable couple. It all feels shallow—I can tell the guy filling my car with gas that ‘I love him more than the stars love the moon’ but that doesn’t actually mean anything. At no point does this book make me care about Yves and Damien as a couple. There’s no heart flutters or tummy flip. Damien was a disappointing love interest.
The plot: Meh It was a bit repetitive. This Big Bad, Yves’ maker trying to create a vampire army and rule the world was basically the same as The Supreme Being/Blood King trying to create an army of vampires and rule the world plot line from Eros’ book. And, once the actual big confrontation started, it was over just as quickly.
How many times does one book need a severely injured throwaway character to drag themselves to warn the main cast of the oncoming evil, main cast becomes enraged but tell each other not to go off half-cocked and to strategize, only to stand around and do nothing. Because it happened way too many times in one book. In general, there’s a lot of needless repetition (in dialogue, plot recaps, characters planning and replanning the same thing, etc)
Also Raphael’s book had Yves remembering his great past love with a different name, Tadhg? I get the impression this writer doesn’t really plot out their series in advance and maybe should. This review is really negative—I feel mean—but I think she can do much better than this?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this book and thought that it was good conclusion to the Immortal Assassins Series. While reading the other books in the series I found it strange that Yves had sex with all of them not long after they chose to become vampires and he became their maker. Yes, they were all adults and could make their own decisions but it came across as a tad coercive. As they got the chance to either get out of the bad situation they were in or finally have what they’d most desire, the touch of a man. After reading the prologue in this book and how Yves was basically lured into turning by his maker Hadrian by the promises of love but only ended up being nothing but torment. Even though Yves reason for choosing Syn, Midnight, Eros, Raphael and Thorn was for kind of selfish since he was lonely and thought that maybe one of them could be his mate because their energy feels good.
I believe that if any of them decided that they didn’t want the gift of immortality or be with him intimately he would have accepted it and not forced them. I can’t believe everything that Yves and Damiano’s (Dami) maker Hadrian has done in the pursuit of adoration and power, going so far as forcing them apart because they loved each other, and therefore didn’t love him. He has absolutely no concept of the word love and what it entails. I’m really happy that Yves and Dami finally found each other after being separated for so long, even after spending hundreds of years apart their love couldn’t be denied. I thought that they were great together and their chemistry was completely off the charts, as well as hot as hell. I’m looking forward to reading the first book Feral in the upcoming spin-off, Wicked Nights at the Lair Series when it’s released. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.
Inevitably Yves by Mia Monroe is book 4 of the Immortal Assassins series.
I have been impatiently patiently waiting for Yves’s story. He is a legacy vampire who has created his own family of brothers and sisters. They have turned New Onyx into a safe place for vampires, with rules to keep everyone safe. The brothers have all found their fated mates and they hope Yves will find his. Yves doesn't think he ever will and he has settled for being happy for his brothers and basking in the love surrounding him.
Yves has needed his story told from the beginning but it is easy to see why the author made us wait. Even if we readers don't like it ** Yves has spent centuries looking for his love and thought he has lost him. Recently he has been dreaming of him more and more. When Damiano comes to town Yves knows why he has been dreaming of his lost love, Lorenzo. Damiano is Lorenzo and their maker is the one that kept them apart. Now, their maker is causing a lot of havoc in New Onyx and there is a war that is coming to a head.
Yves reuniting with Damiano is very touching. They both have been apart thinking the other had died. The brothers, other vampires, and witches all must join together to defeat Yves' maker.
There are some trigger warnings for this story that you may need to be mindful of. From the author's Content Warning page:
SA/Trafficking discussions but nothing happens on page ir is graphically discussed. Decadent use of blood Vampire violence-more than usual
There is a beautiful hea for Yves and Damiano that I recommend reading. Mia does an excellent job of bringing us a steamy and sweet story all wrapped up in some vampire fun.
Yves finally gets his mate! I was so excited to finally get his story and it did not disappoint. I think Eternal Syn is still my favorite, but this comes in a very close second. I loved getting more background on Yves, and the love between him and Damiano is palpable.
This series is very plot heavy, and there has been a lot going on. When I saw the length of this book I was a bit worried that things were going to be left unresolved. But everything got wrapped up really nicely in the story. This book does seem to have more violence than the previous stories, but it's balanced well with the love between the MCs and Brothers.
I only have one negative. I really had to concentrate to remember who's POV I was reading. It didn't feel like Yves and Damiano had really distinct voices. It's not an issue I've had in the past with Monroe's characters, but it did get a little frustrating at times (it probably didn't help that I was reading while I was working and kept having to put my book down, but I also didn't want to wait to finish reading)
I'm really sad that this is the end of the series. I've really enjoyed these guys and their world. It does seem like we may be getting more of New Onyx in another series though. I would absolutely love to get more of Hale's story, and I'm hoping he will be an MC in a future book
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review
This is the 6th (and final!) book in the Immortal Assassins series. Series finale, paranormal, fated mates, continuing story, second chance with a helping of violence on the side. I have been waiting for Yves' story since the first book, I knew it was going to be good and I wasn't disappointed. Yves wants nothing more than his fated mate and has tried unsuccessfully over the centuries to find that, with disappointment after disappointment. I really felt for Yves, watching all his brothers find their fated mates when years ago, he lost the love of his life, thinking he was dead.
I loved Damiano and Yves reconnecting after all the centuries, these two have been through so much at the hands of their maker, we only know a very small fraction of it. I loved that there was zero angst, and their connection was as strong as it had ever been, and they just picked up where they left off as if they'd never been separated. It was so satisfying.
This story neatly ties up all the ends of the story that have been woven in the previous books, so as well as finding out Yves and Dami's story, we also get to tie up everything that's come so far. I have loved this whole series and this was such a lovely, low angst yet compelling story to finish up what's been a great series.
I have adored this series since the first book and I was so, so hoping that Yves’ book would be the kind of ending that it deserved. He’s been such a strong, immovable force of kindness, love and support to his brothers. The way he made his family, accepting everyone for who they are was beautiful. My heart had broken a little though at how painful it must have been for him to see his brothers (each of whom he’d once hoped would be his forever love) find their mates. That he still held such pure joy for their happiness made me want his love to be epic and overwhelming (in a good way) and beautiful and Yves got that in spades with Damiano. He was loved in a way that is almost difficult to truly understand; a love so eternal that hundreds of years of separation didn’t change Damiano’s devotion. The way Damiano showed Yves his love in constant affirmations was wonderful because whilst Yves had this beautiful family filled with love he had, in a way, been starved of a very specific type of love. Damiano seemed to truly understand that and be able to shower Yves in love. This was such a fitting end to a series that, whilst filled with violence in one sense, has been overflowing with love, companionship and family. I can’t wait for more from this world and hopefully some favourite secondary characters getting their HEA.
Compared to all the books in the series, this one felt the most like a cheesy romance novel, and I mean that in the most constructive way.
It was so overwhelming in the romanticism between Yves and Damiano that I did not trust Damiano until like the 80% mark of this book. I kept feeling like he was hiding something. Spoiler alert...he wasn't.
Thorn will forever be my favorite character throughout the series. He is Best Boy from the first book until this last one.
Overall, it was a good and satisfying ending to the series.
Notable Quotes:
“Should we kill him?” Thorn asks.
“Is that the only way?”
“We brought Hemsley back,” Yves says. “Let me try that.”
“You’re not getting anywhere near him, love. Can someone get us a glass?” [The exact moment I started to trust that Damiano wasn't a nefarious guy. 😆]
“On it,” Eros says, returning in a flash with a dusty cocktail glass.
“I’ll take it to him,” I say, handing the glass to Yves.
💜💜💜
"Do you know what my coven would do for me?”
“Burn the motherfucking world down,” Thorn says.
“Anything he asked of us,” Midnight says next.
“Sacrifice ourselves if necessary,” Syn adds.
“Fight until death,” Eros says.
“Face his maker,” Raphael says.
💜💜💜
“If I die, part of you dies too.”
“I’ll be okay.” [aka Ice Cold Yves standing on business! 😆]
Oh, sweet Yves. The man who has been searching for love for centuries, though he built an incredible in the process. Having seen him give up hope on ever finding his person was heartbreaking. But the desire of his whole family for him to find what they had was so sweet.
For Yves's story, we have to go back to the very beginning, when he was turned by the very first. The life that leads him to find and turning his family. It’s a simultaneously sad and beautiful story.
To find out his lover from centuries ago, and presumed dead, was alive and finally back in his life, swoon!
Finally back in each other’s lives, they are going to have to fight for the chance to get their second chance.
It’s an exciting story, with plenty of surprises, and a whole lot of blood! But we ultimately get to find out what fate has in store.
What a wonderful family. I have a feeling we’ll catch glimpses of them again.
Yves finally gets his HEA, and we're treated to Yves and Damian's long-awaited story, offering answers to questions that have lingered throughout the past 5 books.
The love between Yves and Damian is sweet, but at times it feels excessive. The constant repetition of "it was always you" and declarations of their undying love can become wearying, losing some of its impact over time.
While the storyline involving the main antagonist was interesting and held promise, it feels like its full potential wasn't fully realised. Additionally, Damian's narrative unfortunately lacks detail. While there are hints scattered throughout, they don't solidify into a clear picture.
Furthermore, the dialogue continues to be a significant issue for me. It comes across as forced and unnatural.
All in all, it was a low-angst story with a fitting HEA. And also it was nice seeing all of the members of House of Orpheus again for this final instalment.

Love this line... "No matter what life threw at me, this love was destined. It was always, inevitably, Yves."
This is the final book in the series, Immortal Assassins by Mia Monroe. It's not my favorite Mia series, it's a bit darker than I prefer (I'm more of a Covens of Eaton Falls gal).
I think it's safe to say that all of us readers/fans have been waiting for Yves' story, since day one. After all he's the one that's been searching for his fated mate the longest. As all the guys have found their mates, Yves has stood stoically by assuming a fated mate is not in the cards for him. In this story we learn so much about Yves and where he came from. There were some surprising details that I did not see coming.
If you've enjoyed this series so far you will not be disappointed, I promise. If you haven't started this series you definitely need to start with book one since each book builds on the previous one. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next.
“You saved them, Yves. You cannot make yourself a monster in my eyes, and I doubt you could in theirs either. What would they have had without you? Imprisonment, slavery, a royal or aristocratic life with no choices of their own. You gave them the gift of life—one they could design. You gave them purpose, family, and ultimately, fated love.” He rubs my thigh. “Yes, Yves, you are honorable. You are the vampire Hadrian wished he could be.”
Mia Monroe completes her amazing Immortal Assassins series with Yves’ love story. We have been anxious to see exactly what led Yves to bring this found family of vampire men and their fated mates together- providing them with a sense of respect, even as they worked to rid the world of evil.
We are not disappointed with learning about Yves’ background and his deep feelings of love and loss, which then leads to our joy when he is joined by Dami and the chance to love again.
This is the final book in this amazing series and recommend you start from the very beginning as it has the same characters throughout. What I love about these books is it gives you a snippet of their lives before they became vampires. This one starts with Cillian (Yves) as a priest when he meets his maker. Fast forward 700 plus years and you see Yves reminiscing about his past love that he thought had died. When he receives a letter from the council, and they were meeting in New Onyx, he was worried. When he finds out their news and went to talk to the person who let the council know, he is stunned to realize it was his love, Lorenzo (Damiano). Oh what a happy reunion that was. I love this world. When they all get together and they realize what is happening in New Onyx was the fault of their maker, they make their plans. Love the world building, very high heat and I am so sad it is over. These books will definitely be re-reads as I have loved them all.
Yves has been a mystery throughout this series, only getting glimpses of him. But we knew he was hurting, his soul aching for his true love. Fate decides to intervene, thrusting Damiano back into his life, bringing back memories and reopening old wounds that never healed properly. But Damiano is exactly what Yves deserved and needed, a soulmate that truly loved and cared for him, wanting his happiness above all else. Since that's exactly what Yves always did with those he loved, unselfishly gave his love and support, truly desiring their happiness. Damiano and Yves were two lost and wounded souls finally uniting, enabling them to heal and be whole once again. But that journey was not smooth sailing. An enemy is still lurking and must be defeated before everyone could settle completely into their HEA. The angle of this enemy was intriguing, creating some twists and turns and suspense. This was a very satisfying conclusion to a very good series.
Did I want Yves to get his HEA, of course! Did I want the series to wrap up? NOOOOOOO...
Mia Monroe takes us on a wild journey and gives us a ton of backstory on Yves, his maker and his fated mate in this final installment of the Immortal Assassins and I was there for it! This book was definitely epic - spanning hundreds of years and giving us a glimpse into the origins of vampires. It was great to see the House of Orpheus coming together in their biggest battle yet... and seeing what a powerful weapon Yves unlocked to defeat his maker.
I love the way Damiano and Yves embrace their second chance at love and how they fit together, even after lifetimes apart.
I'm hoping for a spin off series - there are several characters who need their HEAs - Hale, Tiago, Paolo and of course, Vivienne & Viper, a helpful incubus, so many stories left untold...
Loyalty, Devotion and Love is all Yves. He created his world on all three and he receives it back ten fold from every life he touches. If anyone one deserves to find his fated mate its Yves. What he didn't realize was that he already found him. Lost through deception and dark magic of his maker, Yves has been searching for that love and got hurt along the way. Fate though can't be denied and when Damiano walks into his life it all comes back. He might bought Lorenzo was dead and lost to him. The love has never died through the centuries, its as strong as it ever was. Like all fairy tales evil Hughes a ride and tries to destroy their love again and destroy everything and one that Yves loves. The 1st true vampire their maker with his rotted evil. A great book with sappy words of love you read in old historical romance novels
