The Choices of Life and Love
At 23, Serena Beaumont, a beautiful blonde with emerald green eyes, had a world of opportunities before her. As a recent college graduate, she had just completed her first year of teaching and had discovered that her studies had prepared her well for the career she had chosen—working with elementary aged children with learning challenges. It was truly the pathway of her heart.
And so, enjoying her free time in Newark NJ, not far from her family home in Morristown, she had gone to an indoor rock-climbing course with a man whom she was interested in getting to know better, Austin Montrose, a resident in neurology.
Serena felt that she had scaled the mountains of her first year of teaching, now she wanted to enjoy physical climbing. But, the mountain she never expected to encounter or climb at this point in her life was love. So, when her recent dates with Austin Montrose, a native of Boston, prove to be fun and engaging, she can’t manage the next steps. An only child who was close to her mom, she really wasn’t ready to move from New Jersey.
Austin was also living his dream. At 30, the handsome blue-eyed man with sandy blonde hair was finally beginning his career in neurology after years of studies. He and his buddies—Dominic, Hugo, and Logan—had gone through their medical studies together in Boston, and now were all over the place doing their residencies, but they had a plan.
The four amigos wanted to open a practice together in Boston. And they dreamed of creating a foundation that would fund their dreams to use their skills and medical connections to host surgical clinics in regions around the world that would never have the access to such medical care.
And now, that both Serena and Austin are at the beginning of fulfilling their dreams, fate has allowed each to meet a possible mate who could add love to their lives, truly fulfilling their dreams. But ultimately, it is geography that is the impossible mountain that their love can’t climb. While Austin’s world and family is in Boston, Serena’s world and family is in New Jersey. Fate has given them a brief time of romantic bliss, but familial and vocational dreams in different locations won’t allow love to grow.
Aimee Bronson has crafted a tale built on challenges and choices that must be managed if love is to flourish. The tale is filled with unexpected twists and turns that challenges the possibilities of happily-ever-after. I would encourage the writer to work on better tighten the plot line to tighten the romance, providing a sharper story line. Also, give the text one more read for grammatical correctness.
