4.5 "Teach me" Stars

"Always safe, sane and consensual."

Becoming Sir can be read as a stand alone book but, in my opinion, reading The Art of D/s Trilogy first gives so much more depth, purpose and soul to Becoming Sir. Also The Art Of trilogy is an amazing, not to be missed series, with a wonderful book couple!!! Sawyer"... longed for the kind of devotion that they shared."
"This was his destiny."

Becoming Sir begins just after the events of The Art of trilogy, and gives snippets and reminders of previous events. It felt immediately familiar and comfortable to me, reacquainting myself with much loved characters from my book past. I loved seeing the progression of Dylan and Isa's story; where their love of each other, and the BDSM world, has taken them. They're an intrinsic part of this story.... Yay!!!

"He needed to experience BDSM to understand it."

Sawyer is a 38 year old gorgeous, alpha, hottie. His history includes a difficult childhood, the tragic loss of his wife, and a murderous past working for the CIA, among others. He's come to a point in his life where he needs to reaffirm himself, find his purpose and niche, especially in his personal life. He has discovered the world of BDSM, it's a world that captivates him and he yearns to learn more about it... Craves to become part of it..... Becoming Sir

The crux of the story is Sawyer training to be a Dominant and fully integrating himself into the BDSM world; the reaction of the people who don't understand and the people who do.... The author's writing completely captivated me and made me feel.... Mmmmm... Lovely

"...he wanted to find out what it truly felt like to control a woman simply with a touch or command."

His training involves discovering his BDSM 'particular' desires... It's deliciously hot discovering them with him.... and I LOVED reading about it all!!!

Always try not to judge!!!

"A man's domination and acceptance of the gift of submission is the greatest expression of love I believe there to be."

This story comes with a warning.... And that warning should be heeded. It's full of the risque factor... EROTIC sexual encounters, moderate BDSM themes, ménage F/F, and PROFANITY. There are many things that I most definitely would not be comfortable with in real life but the characters are all consenting; it's all so right for them.... It's who they are and what they want.... Because of that it's HOT, HOT, HOT.... Reading is suspending your disbelief after all.
"I've made that choice of my own free will and I give myself to only those who are worthy of my complete submission...."

Becoming Sir is about so much more...
It's about self discovery and new awakenings, honesty, sexual liberation, releasing yourself from your fears, and acceptance. Not being afraid to move on from the past, both good and bad. It's an unusual love story but a love story I did feel. Were there scenarios I didn't understand? Absolutely!!! But it's so nicely written and completely sympathetic to the beauty and understanding of the lifestyle. I couldn't help but be drawn in and love.

Sawyer has integrity and honour. He demonstrates this in his actions and interactions with his friends and fellow fetish lovers. Ella has given us extremely well developed rounded characters with depth and purpose. There's a motivation to everything they do.

There's something warm about this story. It's possibly the deep friendship and trust the characters share with each other. So much reverence at all times between the them.... So much awareness of others wants and needs; it shows the pleasing, reverential side of BDSM.

Love all his affectionate nicknames.

"His bond with her was deeper, tangible, devastating..."

My only tiny grumble is but that did not take away from my enjoyment in any way, it probably added to it, we need a bit of angst, right?? So I guess it's not really a complaint but my emotive, romantic notions of a love story...

If you love a bit of kink in your life, reality or fiction, you'll LOVE this book, if you want to push your comfort levels, you'll LOVE this book.... Lovely readers go be risque and enjoy Sawyer!!!

***5 "Sir Charming" STARS**

*Would I like to try the BDSM lifestyle? Umm..No thanks, I'm way too stubborn.
*Would I ever bow at a mans feet?.. Now would a stubborn person do that? Yeah, NO!
*Would I ever let a man flog me? Hell No, my stubborn ass would flog the shit out of him for even suggesting such a thing.
*Would I ever ask for a mans permission? Hello, when does a stubborn person ask for anything? Almost NEVER.
*Would I ever be the receipient of an orgasm in public? My stubborn ass cannot confirm nor deny that question.
*Would I submit to Sawyer? HELL. TO. THE. YES., my agreeable ass would do anything and everything Sawyer requested of me.

My Sawyer:

I have a new name on my top 5 book boyfriend list and his name is Sawyer. Lord, this man did a number on my ovaries. Now, he's not your typical alpha male. All you lovers of Christian Gray, Tony Rawlings and Jesse Ward's possessive ways may not be huge fans of Sawyers charm, patience and attentiveness. Hey, that's okay. Too each their own, Correct??. Lucky for me Sawyer has all the traits I look for in a man and a whole lot more. Sawyer's perfection. Everything that came out of his mouth had me smiling... squirming..... and slobbering all over myself. I can't think of a single negative things to say about him, other then the fact that he's fiction.

"When I dream, it's your face I see,
and when all is dark, you are my light."

I highlighted pretty much the entire damn book & and I could post all my favorite quotes and summarize the book, which would kill the entire experience for you, so I won't....okay, it's also because I'm lazy and I know there will be a dozen other reviews that will summarize the storyline way better than I ever could.. I went into this story blind and I suggest other readers do the same. Don't let my opinions nor the opinions of other reviewers misguide you. Pick up the book and come to your own conclusion, SNOWFLAKES :-)

* * * * A lovely gift from Jahy!
This summer (2014) I found a book on my own called the Art of Submission. It was very different from anything I had read. The main character was a talented artist who did deeply touching paintings of phases of BDSM... hands bound, different poses which caused the viewer feelings unlike anything they had experienced before.. and I was quite taken with it. As reading goes... I moved onto other books and although I had fond memories of the read... I soon filed it away.

Well, it seems this talented writer wrote more books with these characters following them through the disciplines of D/s.

Which brings me to Becoming Sir.

This book incorporated all of the characters from the previous books while focusing on Sawyer, a man who worked with Dylan and had a very dark past in the CIA. His talent was the kind where if you asked at a cocktail party the standard "what do you do?" he would answer, "If I told you, I'd have to kill you"....And Well...he would actually mean it...

Sawyer had been married... lost the love of his life.... and has been observing Dylan and Isabel in their BDSM bliss... he finally decides he wants to see if being a Dom is his true calling. His friends choose Sarah, a submissive who also lost her long time master to an accident, to guide Sawyer in his training.

This is the journey we go on... from Sawyer's point of view... and it is an education for him as well as the reader.... at least this reader...
I learned all types of punishments, tools used in said punishments and how a person is trained to use all of these implements.
Yes... Sawyer was very Dreamy.... and as I happened to joke while reading this... I would have been very happy to have assisted with his training...

But as side from the mechanics... this really was about how critical it is to find your right fit and not to try to mold yourself into something you're not for love.... to recognize when it isn't a fit and never to force something when the natural desire isn't there. That concept is universal... whether it is BDSM or wanting to "save" yourself until marriage... or anything in between... we should always be true to who we are.

It also showed the freedom we can have in understanding how to let go and trust in those who love us.

This was a solid read... I do advise reading all of the books in the series Art of Submission in order to get the full benefit of this story.

Sawyer's quest to become a Dom is an entertaining, thought provoking, and incredibly sexy journey which both compliments and continues the D/s Series...
"Sometimes our balance has to be upset and our course reset in order to help us navigate to our final destination. This is my final destination and where I was meant to be..."
Sawyer was a prominent character in the D/s trilogy, and during the final book be became enthralled with the BDSM lifestyle. This book is his journey to become better acquainted with the aspects of D/s relationships, as well as his training to become a Dom...

SAWYER MORRISON:
...a Dom is generous, loving and respectful to not only his submissive, but all women. He is gentlemanly in public, but playful in private and a savage in the bedroom.
Sawyer begins his training under the watchful eye of Dylan, Isabel, & Kerian (owner of Dark Asylum)... While he takes to Dominance quite proficiently, he struggles with his past and with the three women in his life.

While Sawyer provides us with a peek into the decadent Denver BDSM scene, this story focuses more on his emotional transformation...
He is forced to face his mental demons,
he must learn to trust others,
find contentment within himself...
And figure out which woman is his best match...

LADY SONYA:
vanilla
He detested what Sonya had done to him - to make him feel again; to love again. When Serena had died, so did all of his feelings.
Sonya has been dating Sawyer since the third book in the D/s Trilogy, but she has stepped away from their relationship to allow him to explore his curiosities about BDSM...

SARAH HENDERSON:
submissive
"I'm no mystery; I'm just a simple woman with complex fantasies and fetishes,"
Sara is a submissive handpicked by Isabel to assist in Sawyer's training. She has recently returned to the Dark Asylum club after morning the loss of her husband & Master...

CIARA:
slave-in-training
"...I need to be used. I know that sounds degrading, but I've made that choice of my own free will and I give myself to only those worthy of my complete submission and slavery..."
Ciara is a slave in training under the guidance of Kerian. She spends time on loan to Sawyer during the course of his training so that he may experience the Master/slave dynamic...

This Book Featured an interesting assortment of kink:
Several variations on menage,
oral, anal, & vaginal sex,
several types of bondage,
spanking and other punishments,
erotic asphyxiation...

An array of saucy instruments were used:
crops,
canes,
bullwhips,
violet wands,
pinwheels,
clamps...

This is the story of Sawyer and Sarah. Sawyer is Dylan's right hand man and wants to learn about the world of BDSM. Sawyer meets Sarah and she helps him to become a Dominant. The only way to understand BDSM is to experience it....and what an amazing, awesome, sexy book this was. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for more from Ella. 4 Beauty. Inspiration. Intelligence. Mine. Stars

I would highly recommend before you read this book, you read Ella's wonderful series The Art of D/s trilogy. This book is a spin off of one of the characters from that series. This story is about Sawyer, the Secretive, Sexy, Sensual best friend and partner of Dylan. Dylan and his wife, Isa, are involved in BDSM and Sawyer is wanting to find out more of the lifestyle. If he wants to learn to be a good Dominant, he needs a Submissive to teach him.

"So tell me Morrison, what kind of Dominant do you want to be?" Dylan asked from above. "The kind that I was born to be. The absolute fucking best."

Sarah "Snowflake"
description

A true Dom has a firm hand, a firm mind, a firm gaze, and a soft heart.

Sawyer
 photo image_zps48fa2516.jpg

I will not pretend to know a lot of the BDSM lifestyle. What I really enjoyed was that this story explained the lifestyle while Sawyer was on his journey of dominant discovery. Sawyer and Sarah share a sad past of love that was short lived due to deaths of their spouses. They both loved deeply and are not sure that that can ever be replaced. So they begin a journey of training Sawyer to be a Dominant but once he begins, he truly discovers that he is a dominant at heart. On his journey, he will discover unlocked emotions, he will learn to communicate, and will hope that he can learn to love again.

In Sawyer's training of D/s, he is also introduced to the concept of Master/Slave. He meets a slave, Ciara, who is also in training. His draw to her was entirely physical and instinctual, and came from a place of pure masculinity. Sawyer's quest for dominance leads to a road of 2 women- both that he has a connection with but there is only one that is meant to be truly his.

Dylan and Isa are involved in Sawyer's training. They owe their lives to Sawyer and are committed to helping their friend be the man that he wants to be. I love Dylan and Isa and was just so excited that they played a pivotal role in this book.

Ella can sure write some steamy, sexy, saucy, sizzling sex scenes. There is a little of everything in this book, F/F/F, M/F/M, and F/M. There were times when I had to get the fan out and keep it out!!!
 photo collage_zps63f14edf.gif

I must say that the ending was wonderful. I felt that it ended the way it was meant to be.
He was her alpha, she- his omega, and his name was forever emblazoned on her heart.

Ella, thank you for writing Sawyer's story and bringing back Dylan and Isa.

 photo Suit-and-tie-model-1s_zps4b5a6891.gif
This one starts off with Sawyer starting his training to become a DOM under the guidance of Dylan and the help of Isabel..Throughout this journey Sawyer also trains with two woman Sarah and Ciara..both totally different in their own right..but deeply cared for by Sawyer...

Sarah whom he affectionately calls *Snowflake*..(I Luv that!!)

is a submissive who is kind..gentle..sweet..and wants nothing more than to help Sawyer become the true Dominant that she knows he is!! I love the fact that Ella didn't give her the typical description that one would expect..You will have to read the book to know what I'm talking about ;).

Ciara..whom he calls *Angel*.

is a submissive in training that is put in his care..she's intelligent..beautiful..and very alluring!!

Im gonna stop there..because I don't wanna give to much away..Now in closing I will say this one was HOT as hell..That Popeye Syndrome kind of HOT *wink wink*..but there were a few fade to black parts that had me saying..

****4 Domly Stars****

Becoming Sir is not your typical BDSM read. It is not a book about the submissive but about the Dominant. About his training.
For me this was a book about self-discovery and letting go of your past. It was a book about moving forward.

Sawyer is former CIA. He was a trained killer...an assasin. Now...he kills to protect the ones he loves. Afer years of working for Dylan, and now beside him, he is looking for something to fill this void in his life, and in his heart. Something to make him feel fulfilled.

He envies Dylan and Isa's relationship, their love, their devotion to each other, and their bond through BDSM. He wants that. He needs that. At the urging of Dylan, Sawyer takes the leap and makes the decision to train as a Dom.

"Someone very wise once told me to never be afraid to try something new because life gets boring when you stay within the limits that you already know."

It is at the club that he meets Sarah, his Snowflake.

    snowflake photo: Snowflake Picture14.gif

Sarah is a being of pure beauty and submission. She is perfect for him...but he is torn. His past, the death of his wife. It's all so much to deal with. But Sarah wants to teach him...train him. She wants to move on from her past as well. She has so much knowledge to share.

Sarah wants to show him and prove to him what a true Dominant is...what he has the ability to become.

"A true Dom has a firm hand, a firm mind, a firm gaze, a firm grip, and a soft heart."

    dominant photo: Dom/sub dreamstime_13484056.jpg

I liked Sawyer. Although he was a bit indecisive with the path he was taking and questioning a lot along the way, he finally grabbed the bull by the balls and took the lead.
Sarah was sweet and delicate. She geniunely wanted to help Sawyer find the right path and mold him into the Dominant she knows he is. She is not your typical twig. She is all woman...with curves.

Both Sawyer and Sarah had loss and heartache in their past. They both are reluctant to let anyone else into their heart. But once they do, it's a thing of beauty.

As a huge fan of The Art of D/s Trilogy, I was excited to find out that we’re getting Sawyer’s story. You may remember him as Dylan’s friend and right-hand man. If you haven’t read Dylan and Isabel’s story in the Art of D/s, fear not! This can be read as a stand alone.

Sawyer has a dominant personality. He’s a former assassin for the CIA and definitely commands respect in the workplace, but he’s never explored BDSM. He envies the relationship Dylan has with Isabel and wants that for himself, so he begins training to be a Dom.

"A true Dom has a firm hand, a firm mind, a firm gaze, a firm grip, and a soft heart."

What I liked:

Sarah – I liked that she was a real woman. Just like Isabel, she wasn’t a size-2 barbie doll. She has curves, but isn’t ashamed of them. And Sawyer likes them too!

Dylan and Isabel – Even though this is a spin off, we still get to see a lot of these two in Sawyer’s story!

The way BDSM was portrayed. There really aren’t any rules as to what it is or is not. It all depends on the couple and their wants and needs. Everyone is different and this lifestyle can be lived in a million different ways!

What I didn’t so much like:

Femplay – Yes, I read the warning and I knew there was some ménage, I just wasn’t expecting it to be all women! It was a fairly short scene though, so if F/F/F isn’t your thing, you can skim through that part.

Sawyer’s indecisiveness – The Domly One was fairly wishy washy when it came to his subs. He was training with two different women and couldn’t decide between them.

"Someone very wise once told me to never be afraid to try something new because life gets boring when you stay within the limits that you already know."

Overall, this one gets 4 snowflakes from me! If you are a fan of The Art of D/s, it is a must read!!

3.5 In Training Stars!!!

 photo DIV_28_zpsba18b83e.png

This was not what I was expecting especially based on previous books and reviews I’ve looked at.

I just thought Sawyer would be this Total Alpha Male and that the secrets revealed would be darker and the training he would undergo reveal more sexually explicit scene’s … Instead we got a male that was still very much insecure in his wants and torn between his own inner needs and his troubled past which I would have loved to hear more of.

We meet Sawyer a “Dom maybe Master” in training and alongside this training we’re introduced to 2 possible prospects which IMO are both perfect for him depending on which route he’d like to take.

 photo 7130160_zps7f579e63.gif photo beauty-body-boobs-boy-Favim_com-1025445_zpsb15b2b67.jpg

I was a bit annoyed at times just because I knew what avenue he should take, which would be a better fit for him - for both of them, but he was just not looking at the whole picture and kept swapping back and forth.. I felt this story was more on the lighter sometimes funnier side and in the end is what kept me interested in the characters and had me cheering for my choice of Submissive. I believe he would have been just fine in a Domestic Discipline relationship even though he did seem to favor some fetishes.

4.5 Stars!

I was always secretly wishing Sawyer would get his own book after meeting him in the Art of D/s series! I fell in love with his character then with his caring, loyal and kind ways. He is also a badass ex-CIA agent who is a sexy beast!

Sawyer has been in love before and married but eventually, life happens and the hand of cards he was dealt had other plans than his happy ever after. His beloved wife is no longer with him (get the tissues!) and he is getting by the only way he knows how: by working himself silly for Dylan. As Dylan's partner, confidant and friend, he has expressed his interest in the BDSM lifestyle Dylan and Isabel share. With their help, they have agreed to assist Sawyer in introducing him to their lifestyle and have chosen a Submissive for him as a teacher to also help him find his way.

The Submissive chosen is Sarah. This is really the best match Ella could have provided Sawyer with. She is beautiful in the inside and out, kind, soft-spoken, funny and loyal. Sawyer is immediately taken with her and calls her Snowflake. (My heart was a complete pile of goo every time he calls her this!) Sarah also has her own broken heart; her husband turned Master was also taken from her (get the tissues again!) and she has been out of the scene for awhile while her heart heals. With their Teacher-Student relationship forming, they become close and feelings clearly develop on both sides; however, Sarah knows she is only there to teach him and there is not any room for extra feelings, especially since she might not be chosen by him.

In order for Sawyer to find his way, he is also given Kieran's Slave-In-Training, Ciara, to borrow. She is a complete contrast from Sarah; she is beyond sexy, completely submissive and anything goes. Of course, Sawyer is completely pulled to Ciara and does things with her he has never done with anyone else.

Of course, all good things must come to an end. Does Sawyer want a Submissive or a Slave? What are his hard limits? Was I happy with his choice? ABSOLUTELY!

This book was wildly erotic, completely sexy and did not disappoint on any level. I was consumed by this book for the day while I devoured it. It is a fantastic spin-off that can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend it!

I’m sorry but where’s the romance? Yes I understand this is a BDSM book but I’ve read plenty and was way more impressed. How do you fall for someone who sleeps with different woman? Yes yes yes, I know. He’s in training mode. But if he already has the perfect submissive, then why does he have to train with other woman (in which he goes all the way)? I just couldn’t see the appeal. After his encounter with the third woman I had to stop. What killed me most is that the girl was completely ok with it. Even encouraged it. I believe in “to each his own” but me personally, I like to be the center of attention. I don’t find it not even remotely attractive if someone who’s attracted to me and vice versa, sleeping with other woman.

So I read this book without reading The Art of D/s trilogy first. While I don't think I missed much I really want to read that trilogy now to get Dylan and Isabelle's story. This story is about Sawyer and his training to become a Master.

"A man's domination and acceptance of the gift of submission is the greatest expression of love I believe there to be."

this was an enjoyable read for me. There is a lot of ménage scenes, M/F/M, F/F/F, and F/M action, so if that's not for you then you may want to pass. If those things don't bother you then I'd say give this book a try.

5 BRIGHT shinning stars!!

I have been eagerly awaiting this release! We received only a glimpse of the man Sawyer was in the art of D/s trilogy. But I think I speak for all of us that have read the books when I say Sawyer came off as a strong and intriguing man.
In Becoming Sir we see not only his strengths but his softer side. Sawyer is a man every woman dreams of having (even if they don't have the BDSM KINKS **but it is a plus :)
And every man should aspire to be.

Sawyer shows interest of having the passionate and loving relationship that Dylan & Isa and in this spinoff Becoming Sir ....we follow a man on his mission to find just that

“Sometimes our balance has to be upset and our course reset to help us navigate us to our final destination. This is my final destination and where I was meant to be. I’ve never wanted anything more"

I've never personally craved pain (to each their own) but with Sawyer I would trust me every breath...

I enjoyed this book immensely and can not wait for more from Ella Dominguez.
I thank my lucky stars I was chosen as a beta reader and put my name in the hat for anything she chooses to write whether she choses to continue the story or write a shopping list! I love her work!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!

I loved Sawyer in the first books, but I adore him now!!! Just like the other books in the series, this is some serious HOT BDSM erotica. And Ella does it soooo good!!! Sawyer is a gorgeous, sexy alpha male, but what I love most about him is he is a non-sadist Dom. Firm, but gentle and always finding pleasure in pleasing his sub. YUMMY!!! Really a great story. Well done Ella!!!

Just Sayin'..... LOL ;*

I LOVE Sawyer! Maybe I am bias because The Art of D/s is one of my all time favorite series and Sawyer is big part as to why I love those books. To say I was looking forward to Sawyer's story is an understatement and it did not disappoint! I really enjoy Ella's writing style. It can be easy for an erotic novel to only focus on the kink and while there was plenty of kink, she didn't let Sawyer's story get lost in that. I thoroughly enjoyed his journey from being unsure of himself in so many aspects of his life to becoming a secure, assertive and hotter than all hell lover sir. (see what I did there? lol) Anyways, I don't want to spoil any part of the story, so I won't. I do suggest you read The Art of D/s Trilogy being that Sawyer's story picks up where The Art of Control ends.

"Accept no one's definition of your life. Define yourself."

Bravo Ella!

Happy Reading!!

4 His-Snowflake-Stars!!

"Thank you for finding your way back to me."

"No, Snowflake, thank you for blazing a trail so bright I could never get lost."

Le sigh~

This book was so good. If not for my possessive feeling wanted Sawyer only for Snowflake I probably will give this rating more. I even did ask a spoiler to, ahem, Jahy. LOL I need something to hold onto otherwise I will DNF this. Not that my reason of thinking about DNF this book was because this book is bad. It's because I feel betrayed every time Sawyer with other women. I DID SKIP SCENES OF SAWYER WITH ANGEL.

description

The writing is beautiful I loved it. Snowflake was a perfect portrait of a perfect submissive, IMHO. She's so sweet and alluring. AND I AM SO SO FOND OF HER!!!

Becoming Sir is about Sawyer's journey to become the Dom he was meant to be. Warning! This story is not for those looking for flowery words and exploding hearts. Don't expect an instant love connection. Remember that this is all about Sawyer and his quest to find the submissive meant for him. Whomever she may be. He has a lot of learning to do and plenty of willing tutors to help him along the way. Each one teaching him something different.

1- How to handle being topped from the bottom.

"You deserve to be spanked, there's no doubt about it." He spoke just loud enough for her to hear.
"I do. I've been a very bad girl." She sighed.
"You'd like that wouldn't you?
"Yes, Sir, I would.
"Well, then, a spanking then is exactly what you're not going to get." She turned her head to the side and looked him with bewilderment.
"Do you know why?"
No response.
Because it's my decision what kind of pleasure and punishment you get tonight."

If she would have played her cards right...
 photo 8997388_zpseed268b6.jpg

2- How to use a bullwhip properly.
"The error was in your wrist, my friend. Smooth movements only for now."

Not everyone can dominate the bull whip on their first try so practice make perfect.

Soon he's in control and there is no way he's turning back. The lifestyle is where he belongs.

3. How to schedule your appointments.
"Set a reminder for 1pm and 9pm. I expect you to find somewhere private, remove your panties and finger yourself to near orgasm while you think of me BUT do not cum. Am I clear? I will set my watch at the same time and be imagining how glorious you look."

I'm not going to lie, as kinky as that sounds, I would have set my clock too!

So many more lessons to follow but the biggest one he learned was how to let go of all his past demons in order to truly open his heart to love.

I honestly couldn't tell how this story would end up but it turned out to be an unconventional love story with a happy ending.

How do you keep me interested like this!?! Really!!! I wanted to love this book but I was so nervous that this would be the "mess up" the "why did she have to write another one just for the sake of writing another one" the "gratuitous who gives a flip" book! Well let me tell you I had every reason to be excited!!! Damn excited!! This book rocked! I loved Sawyer already but this was just the icing on the cake. Holy let me call you my Master please Sir!!!

More of Dylan and Isa was a total plus!!!!

I will say it one more time!!!! READ THIS SERIES!!!

****5 Amazingly Hot Stars****

Warning to all my friends that don't like a love triangle: THIS HAS ONE (sort of)

Sawyer Morrison is my second fave book boyfriend - even though he was going through a very intense change he still tried to remain as loyal to his friends as he could and as true to himself as possible.

We saw a little bit of Isa and Dylan in this book, and their story was nicely rounded off, too.

The sex was scorching - the BDSM was in abundance and the love was plenty.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Becoming Sir.

And yes, I want a Sawyer of my own. Please???

I had the privilege of being a beta reader on this book. This is Sawyer's story (from the D/S Trilogy). Most BDSM books focus on the training of submissives. This story is a unique and refreshing look at the training of a Dominant.
I love Ella's style of writing and can't wait to read more of her stories.

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review

“Becoming Sir” is the story of Sawyer’s journey into the world of BDSM, self discovery, the meaning of becoming a true Dom and finding love. What’s in store for him is a road paved with several detours coupled with lots of steamy club scenes.

Sawyer, a former CIA badass turned security specialist is experiencing struggles in his life. He is a recovering alcoholic, still mourning the loss of his wife Serena to cancer, the demons of his past continue to haunt him and he is reeling from a break-up with Sonya (who has jerked him around). Becoming a Dom seems to help him put his life in order, but he is battling with the concept of “punishments”, which makes his training somewhat challenging. I would have liked to explore more of Sawyer’s “darkness”, reaching deeper into his soul to discover his pain.

I found that there was a difference in Sawyer’s character that does not fit the norm of the stereotypical dominant alpha-male. Perhaps this difference is part of his persona and part of his struggle. At times, Sawyer seemed to be fickle when it comes to desire. He was indecisive. There are three women in his life: Sonya, his ex that which he still has feelings for. Sarah “Snowflake”, a submissive who aids in his Dom training. And Ciara, a sub in training who is under his care. His emotions are entwined between these three sexy women. Sawyer seemed more of a “love the one you're with” type of man instead of having the possessive alpha-caveman “MINE” mentality. Eventually, he realizes only one holds the key to his heart...

My favorite character is Sahara “Snowflake”. She too is mourning the loss of her husband/Master and her sorrow pulled on my heartstrings. It is Snowflake’s strength that aides Sawyer work past his struggles.

“Becoming Sir” is a fast pace, ultra sizzling read about a heart broken man taking control of his destiny, discovering his dominant ways and the beauty that lies in a lovers submission.

First I'd like to say I really enjoy Ella Dominguez and her writing style. I loved the D/S Trilogy. Becoming Sir is a spin off of that book but can be a read alone. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book when it came out. I love the concept of going through the journey of Sawyer becoming a dom. It is very steamy and the story flowed nicely. I also appreciated the authors music suggestions (created my own Pandora playlist of some of the recommendations, very nice). The only cons for me is I felt it could of been a bit hotter and in some scenes that were set up, you start to build the excitement for the characters and then the author ended it almost like a fade to black moment and you missed the actually interaction between the characters. Because I came to expect Sawyer to be some a strong dominating character my own expectations were to see the roughness in his dominating style. It surprised me that he had more heart than we previously got to see in the earlier work.
All in all its a great book and a nice addition to see how the characters developed and ended from the D/S Trilogy. Definetly a must read!

4.5 STARS!

DAMN! If you haven't read anything by Ella Dominguez I'm not sure what the hell you're waiting for. This was HOT, STEAMY, SEXY, SMUTTY and KINKY! I highly recommend having several pair of clean panties available when you read this one. Although you do not necessarily need to read The Art of D/s before reading this one I would definitely recommend it. It has been a few months since I read the trilogy and did alright reading Becoming Sir.

This book is exactly what the title says, Becoming Sir. Sawyer has known for quite sometime that he's interested in a Dom lifestyle and who better to push him that direction than those closest to him. This book is about experimenting, finding out likes / dislikes, learning a BDSM lifestyle and truly becoming the real person Sawyer is.

Great read! Wish it was just a little bit longer so we could get more of Sawyer's HEA but all in all it was FANTASTIC! Well done, Ella!

4.5 solid stars. this was great. it can be read as a stand-alone, which was good because even though I read "the art of d/s" trilogy, I do not remember much about what happened. I probably would recommend reading those books immediately before reading this. I actually enjoyed this book much more than the trilogy... it was hot, it made me laugh, and it made me cry. it was one of those books that on more than one occasion, I wanted to yell at the characters "what the hell are you thinking?!?!". I guess that is a sign that the characters were likeable and I felt a connection to them.... thus making this a good book.
