Gosh, I hate having to say this after I had personally messaged the author requesting for an ARC BUT…Can I be brutally honest? I did like this book but at the same time it kind of fell short for me. Reason solely being: the unrealistic development between our two leads. I just wasn’t sold on their love and their SUPER FAST connection.

I swear, I REALLY tried to get it... I did! But, I just felt that there were some inconsistencies with the characters and plot where to be frugal, stunted the entire process of Austin and Olivia’s love story.

I mean, how can you become all gungho on a person that you barely know? The lust part I get but I just felt that a little more progress mentally and emotionally needed to be made before any declarations of love were ensued.

GAH!!... I feel like such a "troller"!! And NOT in a good way!! :'(

I’m not saying that this is a bad story because that’s not true. it had potential but just didn't click for me. The story IS decent along with a palpable synopsis but I just wanted more of a deeper and more pragmatic approach between these characters is all.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST anyone who’s interested in this book just to go for it because everyone has their own tastes and preferences so you might end up loving it!! All of my thoughts and ramblings are just MY HUMBLE OPINION so please! Pretty please!! Don't hate on me for not absolutely adoring this read!! I did in fact like it but I just did not love it is all.

I was given this book for an honest review.

I gave this book two stars. I was so excited to read this book when I read the synopsis. I love me some love-triangle ... even if it is a different take on it. Man was I disappointed. I wanted so much more for this book; I wanted so much more from the characters. I really feel like the author missed a huge opportunity. This book needed about 100 more pages and a whole lot more maturity. The beginning, and really a lot of the book, was very choppy. It didn't give me an opportunity to connect with the characters and believe the attraction. I think Olivia and Austin had said maybe five sentences to each other before a movie premier and then the next page it was over and then the next page she is questioning why she likes him so much ... Don't ask me, because I am just as confused as you ... Everything just moved so quickly and jumped from one scene to the next without much of a transition. I just didn't believe any of it.

Olivia was an OK character, but I liked her less and less as the book carried on. Austin was an OK character, too. I just wanted him to be a man and stick up for himself and take control of his life and instead he was just this wimpy character. I understand it's new adult, but still, he was just so weak. Also, the maturity level was much less than I wanted. I couldn't even really enjoy the scenes between them because they were so drunk all the time. It sounded like a sloppy romance at best. They never remembered what they ever said to each other or what they did. How annoying.

I also want a book that is somewhat believable. Down to the tiny details ... such as, how you act at work. Why is Olivia drinking so much while working? Why is she wearing denim shorts and partaking in all these events with her client? Why is she just starting out at a job and getting a huge account and traveling the US? Sign me up in that reality because screw entry level position. It may seem small, but it's the small things that make a book and there were just too many stretches to look over and enjoy.

The whole thing with Cassidy was OK at first. I was intrigued to see where it would go, but it became annoying at first. I wanted to slap Austing toward the end. Who would stay with a company who would treat a client like that? What happened to just being a good actor ... I think it came back to being a man; an adult. I wanted him to be like screw all of you! This is my life and I am a good enough actor that I don't need people to like me for my relationships. Spoiler alert .... it never happened. I wanted to see jealousy from Olivia when Austin had to be around Cassidy and that never happened. I feel like there could have been so much to this book. So i give it two stars for potential, but I really just feel like it was annoying and fell flat.

Olivia, a girl who is living her dream job at PWR group is about to encounter a lot of unexpected events. She was given three rules in her new job, and one of those is that she can't have a relationship with any of her clients. She never thought that a guy as hot as Austin would walk into her life and change it forever. Could she still live up to the rules? How can she resist such a handsome and seductive celebrity?

Upon reading the synopsis of this book, I was so hooked that I couldn't wait to open my kindle and read it. Sadly, it didn't turn out how I expected it to be. I thought that Austin and Olivia's relationship developed too quickly, and I didn't really feel their love for each other. It seemed as if everything that happened in the book was all surreal. I wasn't able to feel what the characters were feeling, so I couldn't find the book relatable or even enjoyable at the least. The book was clearly well written, but I felt like it needed more emotional pull. Player in Paradise's premise had a lot of potential, but it wasn't able to live up to it.

Despite all those, I loved how the book was very easy to read. That means I can just read it anytime and anywhere. Also, it wasn't stressful or heavy at all which I think is perfect fo times when you just want to relax. I finished this book very quickly and had no trouble reading it. This book was definitely a cliché, but it was still somehow interesting that I couldn't just DNF it. This book showed me that it is not easy to manage any job but all the effort is worth it when you finally get what you were hoping for.

Sadly I cannot give this book more than 2 stars, because I just don't feel passionate about it - not in any positive or negative way. It was just a meh book that I read to pass the time. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the author for providing me with an arc of this book. It was a fun read and I hope that I can see more of her work on the future. I believe that this book and the author have a lot of potential and I do hope that her talent comes out in her next books. Player in Paradise would be perfect for anyone who is looking for an easy and fun read.

Loved this sweet love story so much I did not want it to end.

Olivia has just landed a job with a LA Public Relations agency. Her first assignment is to look after actor Austin Ford on a planned vacation with his actress "girlfriend " Cassidy Evans. While on the vacation in Hawaii, Cassidy comes up with a new stunt and is driving Austin crazy. Austin wants his life back and that includes Olivia, but Cassidy has more twists and turns to keep him to herself. Olivia is trying hard to live up to the rules from her boss - no dating clients and make the world believe Austin and Cassidy are a couple. With her job on the line if things go wrong and her heart telling her other things, she feels torn. Will Austin get his life back and Olivia with that???

I received this book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the story overall. Olivia has just moved to LA to work at PWR which is a publicist office for celebrities. Her first main client is Austin Ford who is an A-list celebrity. Olivia already has a school-girl crush on Austin before she even meets him. When Olivia and Austin first started hooking up, I felt like it was just a fantasy that Olivia was having, but then you find out a little more about the "real" Austin. Player In Paradise is a fun, quick read. The book has an epilogue, but I still feel like there is plenty of room to write a sequel. I would love to hear more about Olivia and Austin, and even hear more about what happened to Cassidy.

Loved, loved, loved this book! I loved the fact that this book wasn't like all of the other books being published right now.. instead of a wealthy CEO, or a famous rock star.. They made it about the life of a movie star and the forbidden (and bound to crash and burn) relationship with his PR.

Who can say no to a train wreck waiting to happen? Not this girl!! My fingers are crossed that there will be a continuation of Olivia and Austin's story!

It's an excellent - unique story. The length is perfect and it kept my attention & devotion from page one. I liked that it wasn't instalove, it had just enough angst and some really funny one liners. Loved the 'trash talking barbie' comment.

The deadline for the review was 8 September. I started reading 2 September so if I had liked the book I would've read it in 4 days max. But it took me 2 weeks (14 days) to read the whole book. 2 WEEKS!! It has never taken me that long to read a book!

I didn't really think it was a bad book, but rather an unoriginal one and that gets on my nerves.
If I'd read this book like 1 year ago I would've loved it because it's a good romance novel, but now I've read too much romance to like these typical romances. I'm looking for something new and original. The blurb made me think I would find it in this one, but it lied...

I don't like writing negative reviews and even less when I got a free copy, but I have to be honest. So I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, but it is just my opinion. I'm sure a lot of people loved it! So try it if you think you'd like it.

So except being unoriginal, I hate when a book has characters who don't match what they do to what they say, if you get what I mean. I thought Olivia was always saying "I'm going to do A", but then in the end she did B and I just hate when characters/people in real life do that. If you say you're going to do something, then do it. Otherwise shut up. So obviously I didn't really like Olivia...

When I first started reading I liked both charachters, but later on I just didn't care anymore. I explained Olivia's case. Austin was just a big ass. And his mood was changing so quickly. You'd think he always got what he wanted when he was little which isn't the case so I think the characters weren't really who they should've been. Maybe that's wrong -- I'm not a professional or so but yeah, again, it's just my opinion.

The only thing I really liked about this book were the sex scenes because they were actually really hot and well written. There were a lot of them, but not too much either. I think the balance was okay...

I don't know if I can say more.... I don't think I will remember much of this book, but I'm not really sorry I read it. I just hoped it would've been a bit more original...

Olivia has her dream job and is well on her way to a career in PR. She is crystal clear on the rules of her job and can't imagine that anyone could every sway her to break them...that is until she meets Austin.

Hot, bad boy, hollywoods it boy, Austin is Olivia's new assignment...and it's a challenging one. Go to Hawaii with him and keep up the charade of a relationship her PR firm has going with another actress.

But the more time Olivia and Austin spend together, the more they can no longer deny their feelings and when their relationship is no longer a secret, will they be able to find a way to make it work without destroying their careers?

What to say about this one...it was a good solid read with like able characters and a story that flows well. It is a quick read, I finished it in a day, with just the right amount of heat to match the story. So why am I not rating it higher?? It felt like something was missing the entire time and was very predictable...I pretty much knew what was going to happen right from the start and I usually like it when authors keep me guessing a little more.

My thoughts:

Quick hook or slow starter? 4 (I was interested right from the start and the story flows well)
Character development: 3.5
Level of Romance between characters: 3.5
Passion/Heat level: 4 (chemistry between these two is off the charts from their first meeting but it takes a little time for them to do the deed.)
Angst/Heartbreak: 3.5 (a little bit of drama toward the end but not anything too crazy.)
Cliffhanger?: No, their story is wrapped up.

Overall, I liked it but I didn't love it. If you are looking for a quick read with a Hollywood bad boy, this one is worth checking out.

Hot cover picture + Fun title + Captivating blurb. I was instantly hooked. Just by those three elements, one would expect this to be one of those books where you just had to keep turning the page to find out what happened next or, at least, to learn how everything fell into place for our Hero and Heroine who, based on everything at first glance, sounded very promising to begin with.

I was excited to receive a copy of this book and immediately put what I was currently reading on hold.

Sadly, one third into the book and I had to stop.

One, I could not get into the characters at all. I felt like character development fell short and all in all, they were flat out unrealistic. Olivia was very unprofessional from the start. I mean, she was there on a job and not to take a vacation with them. And Austin was practically sloshed the entire time Olivia was developing feelings for him. Falling for a drunk is not my idea of a love connection.

Two, there were a lot of cliched events in the story. One is okay. Two is pushing it. Three or more before halfway through the book and you've got a problem.

Three, transitions. There was a sore lack of it.

This book had so much potential and I was crushed when it wasn't what I expected from it. But that's probably just me. Maybe if the first part wasn't rushed and the author really invested more chapters into developing the characters, I would've given it more stars.

***I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***
I really enjoyed what felt like an inside look at Hollywood couples. In Player in Paradise, our main character, Olivia, moves to LA for her dream job in a big PR firm. One of her few rules is "keep it in your pants or you will be fired"...easy right? What celebrity would even look twice at her? Her first assignment is working with teen heart throb couple Austin and Cassidy. What she didn't realize is that PR firms create these relationships for marketing the celebs and if they want to be in the spotlight, their only choice is to play along.
Austin is a complete playboy and hates this set up with Cassidy. It doesn't take long for him to notice Olivia since her main job is to make sure he behaves. Olivia quickly realizes that she didn't sign up to make peoples lives miserable and that is what it seemed she was doing. She quickly sees there is more to Austin than how he is portrayed and it gets harder and harder to follow the rules.
I thought this book was well written and it was an easy read. I quickly connected to the characters and felt like I was in the middle of thier love triangle.
I also felt there was a lot more to Cassidy and would enjoy a story from her point of view.

I feel very meh about this book.

The synopsis sounded great. In all actuality the plot was intriguing, and should have sucked me in. Olivia who works in a PR agency is tasked with staging a romantic trip for Hollywood's latest "power couple ."  One of the main rules of the job is not to get involved with a client. Of course this is easier said than done when faced with mega hot, super star Austin. Factor in Cassidy,  the crazy starlet "girlfriend" and you should have a suck-you-in-need-to-know-what-happens-next page turner.

However, I could not connect with, nor really care about the characters.  The relationship between Olivia and Austin seems to develop out of no where. He does not even appear to be a likable (or sober) character and she is proclaiming her feelings. Everything seems to happen at a unbelievably rapid pace. Olivia herself seems like a very easily coerced person, with questionable standards. I could see the attempts of the author to try to make these characters deeper, but it was almost just as quickly dismissed.

If you are just looking for a fun read for a little while, give this a try. If you like more depth and character development,   this might not be for you.

***Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book for a fair and honest review***

Overall, this was a sweet and short 2.5**! I felt that it was very anticlimactic. The character development was lacking, there could have been so much more to Austin and Olivia, even with Cassidy and Tyler. I couldn't figure out their stories, what was the attraction. It seemed like the author had a lot to tell but it just never got there. Things were rushed and seemed like they were happening in such short periods of time, at times making it confusing. I know they were young but the dialogue was very immature. I really had a hard time liking any of the characters very much. The parts that were supposed to be steamy fell short, half the time one of or both of them were drunk forgetting what happened or what was said. To the extent that in one part Austin finishes vomiting and then they are kissing.....ugh! And then the story ends with an Epilogue that just didn't do anything for the story.

Like I said it was short, sweet and no angst, which by the way was kind of nice! I was just hoping for a little bit more.

2.5 stars. I received an arc for an honest review. I was really disappointed in this book, it was very childish and rushed at times. The epilogue could have done with being longer and telling us about how things happened after they found out the news!!

Austin seemed to just constantly talk about or want sex, it was like it was the only thing in his head 24/7. He treated Olivia pretty shitty at times. I can't understand how someone would let other people dictate their lives like that either it really baffled me that he didn't stick up for himself, he also seemed to have some problems with alcohol he could have done with a few aa meetings to be fair. Overall not a great character for me!

Olivia for me needed to grow a backbone, every time she was confronted with something she backed off, she didn't fight for anything and was so easily pushed around. She let Austin use her as a booty call more or less and as the book went on my opinion of her went further down!!

This book just wasn't for me so read other reviews before you decide wether to read it or not as you may like it more than I did!!

This was a quick and fun story to read.

Olivia is just trying to make in her career in PR. When she is forced into working with Austin, Hollywoods "It" Boy, her life becomes interesting. Austin is in a fake relationship with America's Sweetheart and it's Olivia's job to make sure the world believes it.

Austin is quickly interested in Olivia because she is unlike everyone else in L.A. Austin is charming, sexy and somewhat immature. I loved watching him open up, realize what he wants in life and go after it!

Austin is hard to resist, even though he is the one person she should not be with. Olivia's job and reputation are soon put on the line when their relationship crosses the line from professional to intimate. When sh!t hits the fan, the two must decide what is most important to them and how to keep it.

The characters connect quickly and their relationship and trials soon follows. The story develops quickly, and sometimes seems too fast. It's light and entertaining.

I gave this book 3 stars. Having read the synopsis, I was excited for this book. The story sounded great, and something a bit different. However, while I didn't hate the book, it didn't really grab me. For me to really love a book, I have to believe it, and so many things about this story were unbelievable. It felt like there was no build up to Olivia and Austin's story at all. And one minute she was totally opposed to them being together, then acting way too 'couply' for people who just met, then opposed to it again. Even down to smaller details I just found myself thinking 'that wouldn't happen'.

I know this is new/young adult fiction but I found the way anything Austin said really juvenile. I found myself cringing, thinking that Olivia sounded more like his mother than a girlfriend.

It was a nice basis for a story with a lot of potential and enjoyed some parts, however this one just wasn't for me.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, it was a nice light read with some laughs. I would have liked to have experienced more of an emotional connection between Olivia and Austin. I felt it was more based on a physical connection. I really liked Austin's character he is your typical bad boy with a sad past that just needs that one girl to make him see the good. You really got to know Austin from him describing his past, but didn't really get to know Olivia. Was not really a big fan of Olivia's character, some of the things she did was not believable to me in real life, maybe more because it was not something that I would do. She wanted her career so bad but did everything to mess it up.

Overall though it was good and would recommend it to others.

I was provided with a copy of this book to provide a honest review.

This book follows the story of Olivia who has landed her dream job with a publicist in LA, her first major job is to babysit one of the hottest actors at the moment Austin!

He's everything a Hollywood actor should be, drop dead gorgeous, womaniser, full of himself etc etc.... But she can't fall for him not only because his reputation precedes him, but it would cost her pm her dream job which she has worked so hard far, so why can't she stay away from him?

I really liked this story, was a nice easy read and flowed really well. I liked the characters but sometimes a bit more of there story could have been told. I would enjoy reading a bit more about them, however am unsure if there will be any others, would recommend this book to those that like contemporary adult romance novels.

I really liked this story, the main characters have a real world issue caused by problems that society/"fans" create. Austin is a typical up and coming male celebrity and Olivia is his newly appointed publicist. Dealing with publicity relationships is tricky and Austin's "leading lady", Cassidy is out of her mind drunk on her fame!
I really enjoy the fact that Austin is so down to earth once you get beyond the fact that he is an "A list" celebrity. He is instantly taken with Olivia, and I think he wouldn't have given her the time of day if she hadn't resisted his advances at first. The chemistry between the two could have been a bit more intense, but it worked well with the issues they had to deal with due to Cassidy's antics.
I would like to see what happens next for Austin and Olivia and I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good, quick, romance read.

I feel disappointed with the book-the story has potential, the writing is good, but the characters are inconsistent, the story lacks the intriguing and compelling factor and there is a lack of chemistry in the love story that makes the book fall flat for me. I feel even more disappointed because the idea is good and it could have made a great, fun romance, having all the good ingredients, but lacking the spice and flavor. I can't think of one character that is fully developed, all feel a bit like a comic book and I really had to make an effort to keep reading. Sorry, I feel bad writing this review, but, on the bright side, I am sure that other will enjoy this book, as there so many diverse opinions out there, so please don't shoot me...

I really liked this book. I was surprised it was as good as it was. Once is started reading I couldn't stop. Olivia works for a PR firm and is charged with taking care of movie star Austin Ford's publicity. He is in a relationship with movie star Cassidy but it's just a publicity stunt. When Austin is caught kissing another girl Olivia's boss makes Austin and Cassidy go on a vacation as a PR stunt for Austin to prove his love. She has Olivia go too so she can keep an eye on Austin. Problem is she is attracted to Austin and he is attracted to her. I don't want to spoil the story but many things happen to keep them apart including both of their careers, Austin's past as a player and his fake gf Cassidy. You have to read to find out what happens but it was a good story.

I honestly wasn't to impresses with this book. I couldn't get into it and I'm always looking for a book to draw me in. Olivia recently move to LA and became a junior publicist. Her boss tells her to help handle Austin a bad boy actor. Having to babysit him on a trip to Hawaii with his "girlfriend" Cassidy for a PR stunt Olivia's feelings for him start to grow and she has a hard time resisting him. Not knowing what to do after Cassidy catches them together Olivia and Austin come up with a plan to get Cassidy to break up with him so they can be together. I was hoping for something more exciting to happen and it never did.

I didn't love this one the way I loved Rebecca's YA, Merch Girl, and there was a bit too much sex for my personal liking, but I think anyone looking for a New Adult book with a hot guy, a very cool setting, and a lot of sex would enjoy this one. It fits well with the NA books out there, and I actually really liked Austin Ford's character, sex and all. (Not rating this one because I beta read it and haven't read the final published version)

Olivia loves her new job as a PR agent. Until she means an irresistible client/ movie star Austin. Austin is supposed to be with Cassidy. At least it's good for PR! What is NOT supposed to happen is for Olivia to get involved with her client. Will the secret get out?
Loved the chemistry and romance that Austin has for Olivia. Highly recommend this book. Would love to see Mandy and Mikes story next??

This book makes you think. Is this how things really are in Hollywood, if so that is really crazy. Austin is a good guy that got a little lost. Olivia helps him see that he is a good guy and he should get to decide what happens in his life. I guess love comes when you least expect it and with the most unlikely people. Just embrace it when you can, it just might be the best decision you ever make. Full video review on YouTube channel Adventures-IN-Print. https://youtu.be/9iEuCVAwBdo

This book was great for a quick read. The characters were interesting and the situation presented was also interesting. It was however, very fast paced and while it was a great quick read I felt things moved to quickly between the lead characters. I would recommend this to someone after a great holiday read to lounge in the sun and dream of Austin Ford :)

I liked Austin and Olivia. Wish there might have been a little more to the book, and definitely more to the epilogue but overall I really liked the story. It didn't drag on an don and it moved at a good pace too. Cassidy was a total witch, but she was also entertaining. Her requests of Austin and the surprise ending were great, but she was still a good villain.

Player in Paradise is cute although I found it very reminiscent of Eversea and Forever Jack by Natasha Boyd. I kept finding myself comparing the books and found that Natasha Boyd executed the story better... For me at least... That's not to say you won't connect better to Austin&Olivia then Jack&KeriAnn.
