Blood Moon is another great showing of Kayla's ability to weave supernatural and horror elements. The story begins with a sense that something will go horribly wrong and builds up to an exciting finish. It gave the vibes of the TV show Lost, only mixed with vampires and werewolves!

Ya read calling out! This is one for any teenager who likes to read about vampires and werewolves but without the extensive, gory details. Don't mistake this story though. It has a huge amount of blood to go around and enough running to inspire a new fitness regime. Combined with an equally good number of creepy moments where the floorboards creak in the wrong way or the main characters really struggle to survive in the harsh, lonely environment they've been left to navigate, this could leave you hooked. Like all good horror stories, there are a few twists and a couple of neat, handsome phrases that really help set the scene. If you are new to horror, this is one to ease you into the genre.

Wow! This book threw me for a loop. What a fantastic read! A combination of horror, thriller, paranormal romance (although minor), and nail biting suspense. The twists and turns just kept coming and didn't stop all the way up until the end. If you think you've read every story out there with vampires and werewolves...think again. This is a fresh new concept and a gripping story line that pulls the reader in from the start.
Well-written, engaging, and mysterious from the start; Blood Moon will leave you hungry for more. In fact, I'm literally dying for the sequel! I have to know what happens to these characters. This is my 2nd book by this author and if you enjoy paranormal and fantasy novels, she's one to check out. Fantastic story, highly recommended!

I’m giving this book 4 stars for these reasons:
(1) It took me quite a while to get into the story. For me, the build-up was tedious and I kept hoping that the author would just get there soon.
(2) There were great moments when I was engrossed in the story and anticipated what would come next, and there were moments I didn’t like much and skipped to the next page.
(3) I got to like the antagonist for some reason. I found I was more engrossed in Clyde’s POV than Sam’s. In the end, he did somewhat redeem himself.
Overall, it was a good story with a solid plot.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book.
This was an interesting story. I liked the author's spin on the whole vampire/werewolf creation. I feel like there could have been more interactions behind Sam's relationships between Lance and Clyde. I a good majority of the the story was pretty unique. It does sort of leave room for the trilogy but there is only a minor cliffhanger, I didnt finish the story feeling incomplete but am interested to see where the author takes things in the next books.
I thought the narrator did a pretty good job in this performance. I would have liked a better recording in some spots; there were very faint electronic/buzzing noises in some spots that the equipment might have been making. It wasn't enough to be distracting but it was enough to notice. I didnt like the way the narrator said the word foliage, she would say foil-age. Not a big deal, but I did find myself mentally correcting her every time. Otherwise, this was a pretty good performance with good voice differentiation and was clear and easy to understand.

When Sam received an invitation to have a free Island get away, it was more than she could resist. Even after her mom specifically told her no she slipped out under the shroud of night and found her way to the peer. Her teenage act of rebellion was met when she noticed her best friend Clyde has slipped away as well, not to mention her cousin and his girlfriend would be joining in on her adventure as well.
What started out as an exciting unsupervised trip, soon becomes something right out of a nightmare. The crew, the ship and worst yet the hotel they were to stay in all play a part in a deadly secret that they would all find themselves surrounded by.
This fast paced, high impact and emotional ride takes you on a journey that you will never forget. Where things aren’t quite what they seem to be. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and make you feel like you are right there with the crew, running for their lives not to mention trying to figure out who you can trust and who is plotting your demise. Kayla Krantz does a fantastic job of pulling you into her world.

This is one of those books that initially had me screaming at the main character, "Don't do it! Don't go! Listen to your mother and tear up the free ticket for the cruise of your dreams!" because I knew something horrible was going to happen. It took me a few dozen pages to forgive Sam for not heeding my advice, and then, I only gave her a second chance because she was an inexperienced teenager who didn't know any better. To be honest, I didn't even feel sorry for her when things started going badly because all of her troubles could have been avoided if she'd just listened to her mother! But then, she lost her cousin, and her best friend, Clyde, disappeared, and she started being brave, and fending for herself, and she had me. When Lance came into the picture, and he and Sam started sharing secrets and listening to the call of the wild, I couldn't stop reading. I had to find out what happened next, and I will read the sequel now to find out what Clyde is going to do to Sam and Lance, and if they will find the magic that eluded them on Paradise Island.

When teenager Sam decides to go against her mother and sneak away on an idyllic free holiday with her cousin and friends, it soon turns into the holiday from hell. Good precept. Almost too soon, we realise there are serious things wrong. While there are -as the title suggests - quite predictably, vampires and werewolves, there are some twists that threaten to tear the group apart, while struggling to survive, get off the island, and back home. I was actually quite surprised how long the teenagers managed to escape harm in a very dangerous environment. The frightening experience certainly makes Sam grow up - she will never be the same. How will she live her life, if and when she gets back to the mainland? Will her friends, old and new, get there with her? Young adult paranormal fans will enjoy.

This was a really good book and it sounded intriguing but its far more than the blurb leads on. Sam gets a strange invite for a cruise. She sneaks out like most any teen would do. When she gets there some of her friends are there too. The cruise staff is weird and strange events begin happening from the start. The weird gets weirder as the story takes off and many unexpected twists take hold of the plot veering it into an action packed supernatural story.
The narrator seems right for this story to me. Her voice matches what I expect for the character and her pacing is good. I always keep my device set to 2.5. I loved how the story starts out innocent enough with an invite to a cruise. I get those phone calls all the time so I chuckled a little at the idea.
The book is full of suspense and mystery. It kept me engaged and wanting more.

The story line was GREAT! I connected with the main character Sam early in the book. She comes off as a realistic 18-year-old and is likable. Like many teens, although she wonders if her friends are playing a joke on her, she also has that thirst for adventure and accepts the mysterious invitation she receives. There is a lesson here that if it seems too good to be true it probably is, as Sam soon finds out on her vacation-turned-nightmare. Lance and Clyde are also interesting characters and I loved the paranormal element. There is even a little romance later as things progress, but it’s not overly done. Fantastic story with something for everyone.

I thought the book cover looked great, thinking I was going to read myself into another PNR but unfortunately I was very wrong. It was still a good story, well written and detailed but I think it lacked the romance I was expecting and was a bit more of a paranormal thriller. I thought there was a lot of suspense and build-up to the big bad that ended abruptly. I thought we could have played with that character more. Interested to see where Sam and Lance go though, I know where I want to see them go.

This is my fourth or fifth 'free vacation' storyline that I've read this year. For some reason, that idea draws me in like a moth to a flame. We all know nothing in life is free, so surely bad things will happen, right? And yes, bad things do happen in this book.
I should have paid more attention to the Amazon categories. This is definitely werewolves and vampires. Not my usual type of horror.
I expected free vacay plot, got creatures. I am in no way disappointed. I do recommend this story to readers who enjoy storylines involving vamps and wolves.

This book embodies the meaning of the old saying - if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. The plot revolves around Samantha a seventeen year old and her closest friends figuring that out the hard way. There is plenty of paranormal horror to keep the pages turning.
A fantastic young adult read encompassing multi-genres. I won't give away what happens, but I can tell you I can't wait to read more and find out how Samantha handles an unexpected visit.

I received a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I saw what this was going to be about, but there was a lot more to the story then just a trip to an idea with her friends. What should have been a grand adventure takes a sudden turn to life threatening nightmares. As the teens struggle to survive and getting home. Dark secrets coming bubbling to the surface. How did they fair? You will have to read to find out.

It took me a little bit to get into this book but once I did, I was fully along for the ride.
Ms Krantz builds the world where her characters are in rich detail, which is good, but sometimes slows down the story. It did have twists and turns, some easy to spot, others I didn’t see coming.
I’m definitely going to read the second book in the trilogy and will see you there in my next review.

Nerve-chilling paranormal without the horror gore!
Although horror is not my typical choice for reading, this is a refreshingly YA-oriented vampire tale that kept me turning the pages and entirely engaged. Fast-paced and a relatively quick read, the compelling characters enthralled while the chilling descriptions set me on edge. A delightfully devious read!

This is the fourth book I've read by this author & I can honestly say that I enjoy her books! although they are different from the kind I would normally read, she has a way of keeping me engaged. Also her writing makes me feel like she's had her heart broken, she's been in love, she gets it all in a realistic or relatable way, imo...

This was sorta different
I love the mystery of the story. It was a little different than I imagined it. I was so surprised by Clyde but then again I wasn't because he seemed mysterious from the beginning. Almost as if I couldn't trust how he was overtly nice and was a slight pushover.

This was a fair book in my opinion.The naration ,by Sarah Nour,was so slow,I upped it to 1.25 to have it sound normal.The storyline was promising but so much was left without explaination.I felt it should be labled as a YA book.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.

This novel is wonderful. A little creepy and a lot of fun, “Blood Moon,” is sure to entertain. You’ll love the characters, the eerie setting and the wild premise as you immerse yourself in this story.

Good read

Blood Moon is a suspenseful, intriguing YA horror story. It's been awhile since I've read a book with vampires and werewolves in it and this one didn't disappoint. It is an original story with realistic characters who embark on a cruise from hell. I found it be action packed and hard to put down.
