Kevin returns home from Toraj and he is finally able to summon a crafter avatar of the goddess. As promised, he gains a blessing which allows him to ability to summon a Hero. After some debate he does so, going for the reincarnate option so as not to drag somebody away from their life on Earth. He is also offered a chance for a promotion to S-rank, but he and his companions have to proof their skill first.

Much like volume 1 and 2, which means it was an enjoyable read about an OP protagonist who enjoys a good fight and to help people. It left me wondering a bit. Can a character buy a slave in volume 1 without second thought and then think about the morale quandaries of summoning people from Earth or be angry about slavers? And why would anybody want to remain a slave? The harem tropes also left me cringe a bit, although at least he has an active relation with one of the girls and he is not a complete dense idiot.

Anyway, an entertain read that had some aspects that lowered the enjoyment for me at least a bit.

This series went in an unpleasant direction. The bad guys are always sexual abusers, a lazy shorthand for how evil they are I suppose, and this volume has some extreme examples. I didn’t enjoy reading about it, and I don’t particularly care for having the bad guy tortured afterwards to ‘get his just desserts’.

We are starting to get medeval on the bad guys. Controlled beasts are attacking an elven village. An S-rank test is in the making. Let loose the dogs of war!

Straightforward Isekai with no real surprises. Nicely written and the characters are developing nicely. The battle sequences are a bit wordy, but all-in-all, not a bad book.

This continues to be an enjoyable isekai imo. The story maintains a good pace while providing a good amount of detail. While certainly not original, it seems to work for me. The main parties relationships continue to develop in amusing ways and I’m enjoying kelvin and efil’s romance. I just wish kelvin had a less cringey design.

An 8hr audio book. Continuing were the last book left off, book 3 covers a major battle and some embarrassing moments for the main protagonist. Overall, I am not loving this series but it has not lost my attention yet.

Great series

This book in the series was very good, minus the Clive fellow (but he got his). I will pre-order the next book. This series is one of my favorites right now.

For those that like this series, I recommend the audio books narrated by Kyle Tait and published
by Tantor Audio. I have read the on and listened to the audiobook.
