It Happened One Christmas Wedding

Rate this book
It Happened One Christmas Wedding is the companion to It Happened One Christmas.

All that matters is we say I Do... Right?
So much has happened since I moved to New York City to pursue my dream.
A new career I love? Check
Whirlwind romance with a billionaire? Check.
My future mother-in-law handing me a blank check to put on a huge formal wedding? Uh-oh.

I have to admit, I'm in a little over my head. I'm a small town girl and all I ever dreamt of was a simple wedding back home in Holly Creek. I have no idea how to plan a high society, elegant wedding at the Plaza Hotel. For Rex's sake I'm being a good girl and going along with it. But I'm spread thin, between wedding planning, my new job as the resident foodie/chef on a morning TV show, and my meddling producer causing a ruckus.

With Rex by my side, though, somehow I'll get through this because all I want for Christmas is to be his wife.

Zee Irwin has done it again. I don't think she can write a bad story. Rex and Chelsea met in Book 1 and are now getting married. Rex's mother turns out to be a Momzilla taking over the planning of the wedding. No one can tell her no. Getting families together for a wedding is always stressful but they make it work. There is also a touch of intrigue involved in this book. I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book to all rom-com readers.

Do little girl’s dreams of beautiful fairytale weddings really come true? Or will Momzilla not only ruin the wedding but break the couple up in the process? Will taking sides, old jealousies, talks of prenups, or wishes not fulfilled destroyed the love that has grown between small town girl Chelsea Calhoun and billionaire Rex Buchanan before they can say “I Do”? Romantics, get several boxes of tissues ready for this one and be ready to swoon over all Rex will do to make sure his “Sweetness” is happy. Zee Irwin once again takes us back to New York and drops us into the life of Chelsea and Rex as they along with his mother Miriam Buchanan-Astor plan their Christmas wedding in this addition to the Betting on Christmas Series. If you have been a bride or groom, then you know the pressure and stress that comes with planning that big day. For Chelsea and Rex, not only do they have Momzilla interfering, but Chelsea’s producer will also cause havoc for the couple. Add in all the drama with the bridesmaids/groomsmen bet, Maisy’s and Brook’s relationship problems, Richard’s distrust of all women, plus’s all the other issues that can arise when planning the social wedding of the year and you can only imagine how Rex was able to keep Chelsea by his side. You will have to read this fabulous book to find out exactly how, but I will tell you he did it by being his sweet, sexy, caring self and wanting to make her happy and “when a Buchanan wants something they get it.” And while we are betting, I’m betting you will love this book!

4.5 ⭐s The wedding of Chelsea and Rex.

Chelsea is from a small town family of modest means. Her dream wedding was to have a Christmas wedding in her home town of Holly Creek while standing by the Christmas tree in the town square with only family and close friends in attendance. But when you marry into a family with more money than God, and a future M-I-L with a "vision" of what said wedding should look like, her voice gets lost at times.

Rex loves Chelsea and his mother. It's a delicate balance for him to try and satisfy both his fiancée and his mother's plans for the wedding. He just wants to marry Chelsea. But there are expectations for the wedding of a Buchanan. Also his mother, Miriam, had been so embarrassed when his older brother, Richard, canceled his wedding moments before the ceremony was to begin. At this time, Richard never plans to marry. This may be the only chance Miriam will have any input on a son's wedding, plus she is paying for the wedding.

Miriam has the most growth of any of the characters in the book. She becomes much more human and likeable as the story unfolds. She truly did love her first husband and she loves her sons and her second husband. She even comes to admire and love Chelsea as she sees the depth of love Chelsea has for Rex along with her honesty, integrity and compassion. Chelsea's also not above seeking a bit of revenge to maintain the dignity of the Buchanan family name.

A Different Glimpse of Perfection . . .

Chelsea, a small-town gal not used to New York City and living around the extravagance of a billionaire’s lifestyle, is beginning to feel like she is absolutely overwhelmed as she contemplates her wedding plans. She is handed a blank check to buy a wedding dress, which was generous of her future mother-in-law, but all she ever wanted was something small and simple at Christmas, the intimate wedding she had dreamed of back home in Holly Creek. Now the pressure is on and she can’t figure out her next step! Will her fiancé Rex Buchanan help her keep this event “real”? Or will he let his mother Miriam pressure Chelsea to plan the biggest and most uncomfortably formal wedding event they have ever seen? Expectations clash as Chelsea’s simple desire to marry the man she loves, in the presence of only those closest to her, is up against Miriam’s “last chance” to have an enormous extravaganza as they shine the spotlight on an elaborate Buchanan family wedding. Whose dreams will win?

We go back to New york City and Holly Creek.
I loved Rex and Chelsea's rollercoaster romance It happend one Christmas. This book is about their wedding.
Chelsea just wants to marry Rex the love of her life in a simple ceremony, but that is not going to happen.
Rex is a Buchanan and his mum wants a society wedding to remember at the Plaza hotel.
Chelsea is torn in different directions trying to plan everything along with her job on tv and her boss wants to include the wedding stuff on their tv channel.
It is all utter chaos.Rex and Chelsea just want to say i do.
It all works out in the end. There are tears, laugher,
friendships, family, steam, romance and an amazing wedding and a very satisfying happily ever after at the end of it all.
Rex is so swoonyhe was so sweet and amazing and i love Chelsea they were made for each other.
Oh my and the Epilogues i cannot wait for the next books in the series.
Zee Irwin thank you for another amazing series.
I cannot.

This is the companion book to It Happened One Christmas. It is also connected to the Betting on Christmas series. This is the story of the wedding of Chelsea and Rex. Their wedding is part of the prequel to the Betting on Christmas series and their story takes place in It Happened One Christmas. Now it time to plan the wedding. Chelsea is a small-town girl and feels over her head. Can she handle all the pressure that comes with loving a billionaire? Will rex’s mom have her way and have a huge monstrosity of a wedding? Great read. I love the characters and am glad I was able to read about their happy ending. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story.

Planning a wedding is never simple and easy

It Happened One Christmas Wedding: Wedding the Billionaire by Zee Irwin is a continuation of linked to the book It Happened One Christmas and the series Betting On Christmas Collection. This is the story of Chelsea Calhoun and Rex Buchanan, whose wedding and wedding party are the basis for the books in Betting On Christmas Collection. I loved this story, as it gives the origins of their story and what is happening with the wedding planning, as a fish out of water takes on high society. This is their wedding and his mother wants it one way, after all they are rich and influential in the city, and Chelsea who is really small town warmth and simpler. The wedding will come together if the planning does not kill her first.

Nearly every little girl dreams of being Cinderella, but learning how to navigate an entirely new financial echelon could be more trouble than her groom is worth. A reality television circus and a monster-in-law who has ‘opinions’ about how every single iota of the wedding should be done left Chelsea wondering if there’s anything in this wedding for her. And then there’s Rex, caught in the middle trying to balance his mother’s demands while also keeping his bride happy and his wedding party from mutiny. The author wielded the question “what’s the worst that could happen?” with great skill and humor to both horrify us by the circus this pair have fallen into but also to keep us rooting for them, to see the culmination of their Happy Ever After.

What started in “It Happened One Christmas” now comes to a end, and it was so great to read.
Wonderful characters that I fell in love with, Rex may be a New York billionaire but he is the sweetest cinnamon roll ever. Chelsea is an adorable small town girl in over her head.
There’s lots of humour, high society drama, an over the top mother-in-law (to be), wedding planning stress, wonderfully written emotion, romance, spice and a beautiful HEA.
Part of a multi-author “Betting on Christmas” collection, each story takes on the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I highly recommend the whole series.

The big day is close, but the story is not over. I think the best way to read this series is to wait till all the books are out and read them one after the other. This way it feels like a complete book, in reading time. The short stories are told well, the people are popping in and out from the other stories without feeling like you're missing something but enhancing the story you're in. I'm reading them out of order and have no problem keeping track, so they are truly standalones within the series. Enjoyed the read, and looking forward to the next :-).

Just so fun!

Imagine having unlimited funds to plan your wedding... cool, right? Well, Chelsea and Rex need to control the craziness of everyone else's thoughts of what should be done.

This is a direct continuation of It Happened One Christmas, which should be read before this one for the best experience.
IHOC is part of the Betting on Christmas collection (by various authors).

This was a good continuation of their love story, and reminded me of how enjoyable this author's works are to read. I encourage you to read more from Zee Irwin's catalog of creative and entertaining books.

Love over money.
It was satisfying to see love trump the dark lures that excess money can trigger. I enjoyed seeing Chelsea and Rex’s story continue with wedding plans. It was almost impossible to imagine or even relate to the excessive spending being portrayed. Oh to be Uber rich where money is no object! Still, the genuineness of intentions and true feelings shared by this pair really shone through when all was done.

A lovely, engaging story about a wedding. Chelsea and Rex are getting married.
The small town girl, from a regular family background is marrying a billionaire from a renowned family. Planning a wedding certainly has its moments, not all good, but it seems worse if dreams of a simple affair is dominated by interfering mother in law to be, who has plans for an extravaganza. Will they be able to survive the trauma of emotion, needs, wants and feelings it all brings. Lots of personality and character.

This is a fun, entertaining read. Rex and Chelsea are intriguing, relatable, entertaining, complex, entertaining, fun characters. I love getting to see their wedding after falling in love with them in It Happened One Christmas. I also enjoyed getting to spend more time with many of the secondary characters – who will be getting their own stories. The story is easy to read and get into.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

After a quick courtship Rex proposed to Chelsea for real this time! So this is about the process of getting married! And what a process it is when you have a MOMZILLA for a MIL! I’m truly impressed that Chelsea didn’t leave him because of his mother’s interference! I can’t wait for next couple to get their books!
This was such a sweet romcom, with sprinkles of spice!.

As much as I loved It Happened One Christmas, the beginning of Chelsea and Rex's HEA, this book made me a bit crazy. I thought Rex had more of a backbone when it came to his mother's making their wedding all about her and her status. I felt sorry for Chelsea almost all of the book. But Zee Irwin saved it in the last couple of chapters. I wanted more from them both.

This collection of stories has been so much fun! So, to get Rex and Chelsea’s wedding was great fun. Rex’s mother, Miriam, is quite the momzilla. She is taking over everything with the wedding and poor Chelsea doesn’t know what to do. Of course, it all works out and we solve another issue with the producer of the tv segments they are filming. It was a great story!.

The follow-up to It Happened One Christmas, this is Rex and Chelsea's wedding story. I found this one a bit more engaging than their previous story about how they met. That is probably because there was a bit more suspense, mystery, and tension happening throughout. In any case, I definitely recommend grabbing this one if you've already read It Happened One Christmas. It held my attention and had me turning the pages quickly to see what would happen in the end. I liked it.

Continuing to read Rex and Chelsea's story was so awesome!

I really loved how you showed the ups and downs of wedding planning can be. especially with a Mother like Rex's!

This story was fun, steamy and just the right amount of drama.

A story that almost makes you want a Christmas wedding in NY.

I need more from these characters!

I can't wait to read the next book from Zee!

Getting to read about Chelsea and Rex and their wedding was a nice ending for the original book. All the planning, including the mother of Rex who wanted them to have a big wedding and was giving them as much money as they wanted to plan it. Seeing them get through the issues and finally get married was so wonderful. It's a definite must read after reading the main part.

Talk about a controlling mother in law! Dictating every detail and step of the wedding, I don't know how Rex and Chelsea coped!

I loved reading the finer details about the wedding, knowing I had a small part in the planning!

Another great book from Zee, which I can highly recommend.

Revisiting characters from previous books is always a joy and this one proved to be no exception. There is no bridezilla but there is definitely someone causing tension between the soon to be bride and groom and watching the two find their way through was delightful. Romance and spice, laughter and tears- this one has it all and culminates in a very happy ending.

Rex and Chelsea's Wedding is getting closer, instead of his mother helping, she is taking it over and making it hers. Chelsea just wanted something small back home.

Their journey to find their HEA takes a deceitful turn when Rex's brother's ex is plotting to do harder. I loved that twist in the story.

Conclusion to Rex and Chelsea's love story from book 1 in the series. This book brings us along on the journey of getting married, with Rex's mom complicating things with her extravagant wishes. Chelsea's work life is further complicated by a dishonest co-worker who is trying to cause issues for the happy couple. Cute story, with some angst, some heat, and some laughs.
