For starters I absolutely detest books which offer "free gifts"... It makes me wonder why the author wrote the book, especially when it is as short as this one. I can't help thinking the book was written to be a vehicle for the "free gift", which in return is nothing but a way to collect email addresses.

Having said that, the book offers a few good conversation starters. There are also a few crazy ones I would not dare to say out loud, even though I am known for my bravery. E.g.:
"This might sound a little weird, but I like your posture. It makes you stand out nicely."

I pondered over, who would say that to whom, a man to a man... hm... a man to a woman... a woman to a man... or... a woman to a woman? The longer I thought about it the more I realized that if the person, who is being approached, is an absolute self-centered egomaniac this could work... other than that... forget it! If this author would address a certain quite busty friend of mine, she'd smack him right away.

Other conversation starters sound old-fashioned:
"What hobbies are taking up your time?"

This might be a suitable opening at a country club, while sipping tea, after a nice game of cricket, only how many of us have that opportunity?

All in all, these are 100 opening lines, some of them conventional, some of them like the above, some better, some worse. Absolutely nothing outstanding. To people, looking for openers I'd recommend watching certain movies on DVD and trying to imitate certain actors. There is also Linkedin with hundreds of excellent articles by known experts, Inc Magazine, etc...

Worst of all, this book really lacks credibility. The author advertises: "Newly Updated & Expanded for 2014 - FREE Bonus Report & Video Training Included! " Mr. Lane: If you want to train somebody you have to tell us why we should pick you. I am not requiring a degree from Harvard, if you would just give me some statistical data, under what circumstances an opener like "What hobbies are taking up your time?" will work I'd be already happy. Just filling a book with 100 sentences does not quite do it. These days, in the day and age of ebook publishing, everybody can do that...

Nothing New

Nothing earth shattering. A few good ideas/tips. Some were interesting. Some were crazy. I am not sure I would try any of them. Someone might think I'm crazy. Overall, interesting to go through. Who knows? Some day it may come in handy. Besides, the book was free.
