A steamy dive into the world full of feline beasts, vampires, gods and their favorite monsters on the prowl. A continuation of the adventure that will change the world forever... Get ready for a ride like no other!
A Halloween party sets off a chain of events that will change everything. Between unexpected guests and a surprising fallout, a misunderstanding between their brothers leaves Kai and Senri dealing with a long-overdue reckoning.
A rescue mission forces the heroes deeper into the inner dealings of the Otherworld while the future woven into fate draws near. With gods watching and pushing the pawns across the board, it will be up to Bastet's Twins to weather the gathering storm.
Connected begins where Dreamers ends and it is best to read that one first. Kai and Ravi are delighted to bring Halloween to their new family. While the celebration is fun, it leads to several problems. Ares inadvertently offends his mate while Kai and Senri are left to handle a rescue mission that is filled with danger and brings so much to the clan. Many Others are there to help as well and most have good intensions but some intentions are doubtful. Fate is drawing closer and many gods are watching and trying to influence Bastet’s twins and others as well.
We are left with so many questions at the end of Connected. There are so much going on and we know it must all be Connected. In addition, we learn a lot about mythology coming to life and why it became mythology. It is intriguing to meet so many gods, some familiar and some not so much. Something is coming and we will not what until we get more of this series. It is very intriguing so far and I cannot wait for the story to continue. Many of the characters are old friends and we wish the best for them. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it to my pleasure. The opinions are my own.
For the record, I'm writing this review after having read the first 3 books, but I read them back to back, so everything is fairly fresh.
So I REALLY liked the turn this book takes with the story and world building. More gods, more intrigue, some unhappy factions within the Serna, unthinkable acts by Karna, and a really good understanding of the differences between the twins, Kai and Ravi. Also their differences with their mates. I also liked that no matter how nice and sweet a person is, they have a line; a breaking point to anger and viscous. Also like someone who appears cold and aloof, can be very vulnerable and perceptive. You start to see more how the twins represent the duality of Bastet.
But the repetitiveness. I just can't get over it. Yes you need to revisit things a bit between books, but it's too excessive. And it's not touching high points to remind you, it's a completed slog through explanations you have gotten multiple times already. I just can't give it a higher score no matter how much I'm enjoying the story because of this.
Halloween, that time of lighthearted fun in the human world, brings a much different feeling to the world of the paranormal beings in this story. Many plot threads are unspooling in this second book in the series and we learn more about various gods, what mythology is and what purposes it serves and we're left as the characters are, wondering who is on whose side and who can be trusted. Cannot wait for the concluding volume in this series. I'm always up for reading books in a series out of sequence, but this one really does need to be read in order.
I was once again caught by how fast the ending came, I read too fast 😭. Plans within plans are starting to be revealed as the twins continue to settle into their new reality and the epilogue gave a really surprising tidbit. I can't wait to see what's coming next.

Party time is going to go with a bang for those who come to party the night away. A great time will be had by some while others will have to face any problems which may arrive for them. See just how it will go
This was a fantastic continuation from the last book, "Dreamers". I loved that book and I can say the same about this one. Wow. Again, I was pulled into the rich tapestry that the author has created. Everything seems to be happening at once, but the author never once made me feel lost inside the story and that was refreshing. Kudos, Monica Vexx, you won me over again! Keep 'em coming!
