On paper, my twin and I are recent grads moving into the eccentric artist’s mansion for a once-in-a-lifetime internship opportunity.
In reality, Dre and I are spies for our clan—a pair of supes known as Shock and Awe who could melt our enemy’s brain as easily as we could extract the intel we were after.
Whatever works.
But our mark isn’t the only one keeping secrets, and Theo’s proximity is… doing things to me. This man could fulfill every dark desire I’ve buried beneath the surface. Things even my twin doesn’t know I crave.
Too bad exploring my fantasies isn’t part of the plan.
Andre
Gabe and I may have been sent to this hideous McMansion on a mission, but the instant Theo Coatl sashayed into view, our plans changed.
At least, mine did.
Wolfy’s original instructions were clear—get in Theo’s head, get the intel, and get out. But I took our eldest brother’s words as more of a suggestion than anything.
And my idea is better.
Because I see the way Theo looks at my twin—like he wants to eat him alive. Never mind that the man is a potentially deadly being of unknown origins, or that I want to discipline him so badly I can taste it.
Gabe is the bait.
Theo is our prey.
And if I get to play with the brat before we end him, well, what could be the harm in that?
Theo
It had been so long since I’d enjoyed a proper hunt, I was nearly giddy with excitement.
And what delightful prey I’ve found!
The twins are perfect. Broody angel Gabriel is pretending to resist my advances, while practically begging me to take what I want. And Andre is playing his cards close with absolute control—which only encourages me to defy him more.
As there’s nothing I love more than misbehaving.
I do have an agenda here on earth, however—one my interns can legitimately assist me with.
So, while I can’t wait to make a pretty pair of puppets out of these unsuspecting humans, I’ve decided to at least try to lure them in slowly. Really savor the experience.
Since it will be the death of them in the end.

(THIS REVIEW HURTS ME OKAY. AFTER ENJOYING BOOKS 1-3, IT HURTS)
DEFINITELY NOT FINISHING READING THIS SHIT 🤮🤮🤮
I came, I tried, I admit defeat (around 40% ish) There will be no conquering here, unless it's of my braincells which have been OBLITERATED.
Yuck yuck YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. BRUTHA EUWWWWWWWWWW. Theo just said "party in my pants" and I can't FUCKING DEAL WITH LISTENING TO ONE MORE SECOND OF THIS GROSS CUNTS INNER MONOLOGES.
Theo is a fucking predator, and in a creepy, straight to jail, not allowed within 5m of a school KIND OF PREDATOR.
HOW IS THIS THE SAME UNIVERSE AS SIMON AND WOLFY AND EVEN BALTY????????? I can't. 💀💀💀💀
The writing and the humor are similar but with the added penalty of: -NO chemistry -NO reason the mc's like each other and the sex stuff is IMMEDIATE FOR NO REASON -NO vibes/banter between MC's -The word 'brat' keeps being used, but I SENSE NO BRATINESS ANYWHERE??? -One of the twins and Theo are practically together before the other twin comes along like a fucking third wheel -THEO IS A GROSS CUNT -THEO IS A GROSS SLEAZY CUNT -Theo has no personality except for "I'm an alien and I like to fuck" BORINGGGGGGGGGGG -THEO AND HIS "THE TWINS ARE MINE" FOR NO REASON IS SO GROSS.
I maybe hate Theo so much that the idea of spending another POV in his head, makes me want to /insert whatever the most awful thing is here.
I can't even be bothered to find out what else happens in this universe. I'm so disappointed but I honestly couldn't give less of a fuck about the twins and their creepy disgusting alien skin-wearing man. 🤮🤮
it seems fitting that i don’t know what to say about this. i didn’t know what to say after finishing every book in this series. i’ll try to explain my thoughts, since i’m sure nobody expects a normal review from me. i think this wrapped up everything nicely, we finally got to know what exactly these supes are and we get to know some characters even better than before.
so, what the hell is my issue? i think that i didn’t care enough about the twins at the beginning and i didn’t fall in love with them immediately. then with the super kinky premise i was expecting some serious spicy stuff that just wasn’t there. that left me somewhat disappointed.
i guess i’ll edit this after my reread (idk when that will be) and let you know my actual thoughts lmao
I've found the previous ones in this series hot, hillarious and OTT in the best way. This one is another story. Trying hard to find anything I liked and gave up. Missed the humor and never felt the romance here. This one was a huge disappointment. 2 ⭐⭐
The snark levels from Theo were hilarious! I loved the throuple dynamic BUT I think I would have liked it more if it had really leaned into the twincest aspect.
Also loved how the whole ongoing plot was resolved in a way I truly never saw coming, which was really enjoyable.
My brain is also completely stuck on Theo's maximalist home decor and how easily I can remake it in the Sims.... 😂
Looking forward to Xanny and Butch's wedding, and all of the potential spinoff series too.
Enter the Multi-Vers is the latest entry in the Villainous Series which is a highly enjoyable read. I loved getting the twins' story with their chaotic love interest. Gabe and Dre have mostly been on the outside of much of the main story, so finally getting insight into their dynamic and powers was super exciting and entertaining.
Dre and Gabe have an intense protective bond with one another that is unique and well-balanced. I enjoyed how their twin telepathy was affected by the emergence of Theo, who is quite an interesting character. I enjoyed learning about his backstory and how vastly different his dynamic is with each twin. Their interactions together were so much fun and I enjoyed the many shenanigans this throuple encountered.
Overall I am very satisfied with this entry and how it concluded many overarching themes and storylines. I look forward to the next entry and getting to see all the characters reunited and continuing with the endless rabble. Such a great story that I could not get enough of.
*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.***
4.5 stars ⭐️ Dre and Theo needed to bond a bit more, I feel like Gabe and Theo had this amazing chemistry but Dre was always left out and it took forever for them to finally get together. Other than that, I enjoyed this, I loved all the characters individually and together, there were some amazing twists and I can sleep happy knowing everyone has their HEA with their respective inventus/mate/stellar collisions 💜
4.5 ⭐️ / So everyone said this book was divisive, and honestly…I don’t totally get why. I think all the chatter around it had me expecting something wildly different, but every so-called “divisive” point felt completely overblown once I actually read it.
The back half of this book is phenomenal. it’s exactly what makes me love this series so much. It’s funny, inventive, and rich with the kind of worldbuilding and momentum that Corrine always nails. That said, this was the first time the relationship itself felt a bit tangled to me. There were a few different ideas at play, and not all of them landed perfectly. But once the three men truly clicked as a unit, it soared.
Theo made for an incredible villain (and not at all the way people online made him out to be). I also adore Andre and Gabe and even more so, I love how Corrine managed to navigate their relationship in a way that avoided every potential taboo pitfall it could’ve had.
Ultimately, this was another fantastic addition to a series I’ll probably be thinking about forever. I have a few tiny quibbles, but nothing that changes the fact that this is still a total Roman Empire series for me.
not for the relationship(s), not for the smut & not fot the plot
idk what happened cus i adore this series with all it's campy ridiculousness but i just genuinely had no strong feelings about anything that happened which was kinda dissapointing
(but maybe i just read this at the wrong time or smth)
2.5 rounded up since i did enjoy the previous books
also i don't think this author writes ff but i really want vi to be sapphic and to also get a book
This is just terrible. I can’t stop rolling my eyes. It’s like a long drawn out sex scene from page one that is INCREDIBLY boring. Theo is not even remotely likable, there isn’t an ounce of romance to be found, and I’m FIFTY SIX percent in and there’s still no plot. It’s so chaotic but simultaneously nothing is happening. As usual with MMM, one person seems left out. Sigh.
So disappointed. This was my number one 2024 dying to read book and it just fell flat with me. Just not as charming as the others unfortunately.
Biggest complaint though is all the hype she wrote about the kink. Talking about how intense it was, needing a kink assistant and to be careful to not be this rough at home. I almost wondered if it was going to be too much and I might not enjoy it. All the while, all we actually got from these invincible characters was some bossiness, choking, throwing around and dragging through some glass. The tendrils were more cute than hot. Nothing had any sort of real BDSM tone to it. I just kept waiting for the powerful kink to happen...
I did love the twins telepathic chat and connection.
I will absolutely read anything else she comes out with because I believe in her. But this one just wasn't it for me.
Corinne, you freaking GENIUS. I obviously had high expectations for this book after the love and obsession I have for this series. But, ma’am. You outdid yourself! Theo and the twins were everything I didn’t know I needed! Holy chaotic hotness 😮💨
And all of the reveals that were made to wrap up this amazing plot into a perfect little package? 🤯 I am going to be thinking about this book for EVER!
And I cannot wait for the spinoffs!!!
Please, please do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!!!
As always, check the mile long content/tw list!
This book is for you if you love:
🦹🏾♂️👽🦹🏾♂️ MMM supervillains x intergalactic villain romance
I don’t kink shame at all. I don’t even mind sex in my books. I’m by no means a prude. But it was 62% before a plot was even introduced. I wanted to know what happened to tie up this series so I kept reading but I had no connection with a single character. The only times things were interesting was when characters from previous books were in each scene. Theo gave off major creep vibes imo and I don’t understand what the draw to him was for either twin. Who were supposed to be ultra bad asses but literally spent so much time in their own or each other’s heads thinking and talking about sex that they weren’t even interesting or intimidating anymore. The plot got a little convoluted at the end. I didn’t like the characters or the romance aspect. I just wasn’t a fan at all. I was so disappointed with this finale.
Not only that but the entire first half of the book read as if the author just wanted to write a book about kink and tried too hard to tie it into this series. It was gratuitous and not in a good way.
Yet another chaos filled ramble. I only read it as it was the end of the series and was supposed to answer the series long questions. Did it? Barely. As with the rest of the series it’s complete nonsense until the last 30 pages where everything somewhat gets wrapped up. In this book not only are the characters rambling in their own heads- they can ramble telepathically to each other! And this just might be me being crazy but it kind of annoys me the scarcity of women in these books (I know they’re mm but hear me out) EVERY woman in the series has either been a psycho, a murderer, or a psycho murderer. Or just breeding vessels that have one sole purpose. Idk it kinda pissed me off.
DNF @ 68% I'm really really disappointed. I had the highest hopes for the twins and their alien. But. Listening to the audio was painful. It took me forever. I started to listen with 1.5x speed because I just wanted this to be over 😭 I felt left out (could someone please please please write a throuple with three equal parts). Not sure how to recover from this 💔🙄🥺
Oh my did I dislike these characters. Theo is one of my least favorite characters of all time. Rating went up because of the interesting ending (not the epilogue).
I was supposed to be sleeping, I would like to start off saying but how could I not read the entirety of this book?? I loved it. Without any spoilers, what a story. I loved learning more about Shock and Awe, seeing them, reading them, loving them. About Theo and the truth behind the supes (etc.) We got some much anticipated answers! And white Not All Himbos Wear Capes and Xanny and Butch had my heart… I think Dre, Gabe, and Theo have won me over. Learning more about this world, I’m so excited for the spin-offs and the last book! And the smut… my god, the smut. *Chef’s kiss* so good. And you really can see the love and dedication that went into this book. Since reading Himbos, I’ve been a fan, but with each book, I fall deeper in it. Can’t wait to see what more is in store <3
Edit: bc I just have been thinking about this book nonstop. I’m restarting the series to get back again. It’s been months anyway… BUT I just have to say I love Gabe and Theo, but I adore Dre. So. Much. I am so here for him and to watch him DOM the world. Fuck. So hot and perfect lol okay. Okay. I think that’s it for now. Maybe. We’ll see.
**I received this ARC as a Patreon of the author**
4.25 stars rounded up. I had a harder time connecting with the characters in this book than in the previous books; probably because I'm not a cocky as fuck space gremlin.
It had some of the same pacing issues as the third book, but overall it was a very enjoyable read.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but as others have commented, I think the author should have leaned into the twincest thing more than she did. The other books had some taboo themes and I think this book could have benefited from moving towards the taboo elements rather than dancing around them.
After further thought I increased my rating by another star because this book did make an impression on me. Not gonna lie, the weird dubcon space lizard dick bit made an impression. Hard to forget that, but their Dom/sub relationships were also very engaging.
There are things that could have been improved but I'm not mad, it's still one of the most memorable reads of my year.
I’m all for a morally gray MC. Hell, I’ll even get down with one who is pitch black. But there was just something about Theo that rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps too pretentious. Maybe I didn’t like that he believed he could have anything he wanted with no backlash.
Which is part of the reason I liked Dre. In fact, he was the only character I really enjoyed in this particular book. I applauded him each time he took Theo in hand and made him his bitch. I wanted more of that.
I’m a big fan of BDSM but I do believe that there are rules to be followed. Yes, they had safe words but a lot was simply thrown out the window and I’m not okay with that.
There’s no doubt that I judged this book harshly but I won’t apologize for it. This book simply wasn’t for me.
So, that in no way is me saying you shouldn’t read this book. I’ve no doubt many readers will enjoy it. Corrine is a quirky, hilarious and wildly talented writer and I’d highly recommend her.
The author describes Theo as chaotic and that's also one of the words I'd use to describe this book, and possibly my review.
If you haven't read Putting Out for a Hero I wouldn't read this one yet since they run concurrently and all the underlying action/storyline takes place in Balty's book. Multi-Vers started very slowly for me, and while it picked up enough for me to finish, this is my least favorite of the series.
Firstly, there isn't really a romance. There's a "star collision" so basically the three MCs are fated mates. The twins seemingly had no interest in Theo outside of that. There was mostly sex and the power dynamics with no actual relationship building that I could see. Gabe has his sub-awakening and anytime he is around Theo he is basically in sub-space. Andre eventually joins in as Theo's master. While the three share the sexy times either physically or through the twins' bond, there are no sexual feelings or acts between the twins. As far as the kink, there are pages of warnings and I felt the kink was pretty mild considering.
The story just sort of meandered with not a lot happening (since, again, most of the action took place in Balty's book and we are seeing that timeline from the twins' POV and they weren't involved in the action) until the very end where there was an EPIC info-dump of some huge secrets that changed everything we knew about the Suarez family and the relationships between Wolfy and the twins as well as the over-arching series storyline. This huge plot twist and most loose ends were all wrapped up in this conversation and a few lines in the Epilogue.
There was so much potential for this book and it really missed the mark for me.
Another round of reading a spicy story about sexy supes, but its punch didn't hit nearly as hard.
"Enter the Multi-Vers" is part four of "The Villainous Things" series that follows a family of supervillains finding love, with this sequel centered on the Suarez twins, Gabriel & Andre, who come together to share in their love of a new character named, Theo Coatl. Although Theo is outnumbered by having two partners in this poly relationship, he is not without any defense, as he is revealed to be more otherworldly than one can imagine.
Once I had a minute left in this story, I was eyeing the timer on Audible like I was in Times Square waiting for the New Year's ball to drop. I was THAT excited to finally complete this story after spending over two months stalling to work through it. Unlike its predecessors, I genuinely struggled to find any interest in the relationship between Gabe, Dre, & Theo, as their arc seemed to consist solely of their insatiable urge to sleep with one another.
I spent three books barely hearing much about the twins, so I was looking forward to seeing who they were as individuals. But every other sentence often stemmed from their love for Theo- or should I say, their LUST, because I never considered what they had with this character to be anything remotely close to a romantic connection.
Their "love" blossomed from the second they locked eyes, and it's not because of something Theo did, but rather their natural bond that comes from their 'Inventus' connection. This removes any amount of agency these characters could've gotten from this relationship; we could've read about how their bond with Theo naturally develops in spite of the challenges that are thrown their way, but the 'Inventus' idea that I previously admired has now gotten sour. This could be a result of me reading these stories back-to-back, because every relationship thus far is built on inevitable ties.
Say what you will about the other couples, but at least Xander & Butch were attracted to each other's supe selves before they started dating, Wolfgang & Simon spent many days getting to know each other together before getting frisky, & Baltasar & Zion spent years fighting each other on the Deathball field-building a relationship/sexual tension.
What sort of build up do we get between this trio? Nothing. They lock eyes, and immediately Gabe & Dre want to jump Theo's bones (and vice versa). Aren't these twins supposed to be trained to complete a mission? Their carnal urges are so powerful, they erase the whole purpose of why they're interacting with Theo in the first place. I would not trust them to investigate anything if it's this easy for them to be distracted!
Gabe is the biggest disappointment, quickly succumbing to his urges over a man that frankly, I don't think deserved the attention. Gabe was made out to be the more calm, submissive twin, who struggled to find a voice for himself, so naturally, I would hope his arc would have him end up in a position where he is more confident & independent. Instead, Gabe is even more sheltered and bossed around by Theo & Dre. This is a 20-something year old that is the youngest in his powerful family who never once had a moment where he could be alone and find himself.
There are lines that sound even prideful of the fact that Gabe will never be alone, like praising Theo & Dre for not leaving his side. Gabe says he is more comfortable when he has his twin and lover, but that doesn't make it healthy. It certainly didn't make me feel good; if anything, it made me feel sorry for Gabe and how his emotions seem to flow with whoever he's with. He was the most boring character I have read in this series.
Andre is the other extreme. He is my favorite of the trio, but that's like saying you'd rather be in a toxic relationship because at least it's exciting. I love how Rochelle skates around the fact that Dre is borderline sadistic & abusive, as that is how he ends up treating Theo. He is a man that boasts about being a dom and wanting to hurt his partners during sex, and thanks to Theo's special abilities, he finally had the perfect sounding board to unleash his torture.
The only reason I enjoy Dre at all is because the wicked things he does to Theo is child's play when you know that Theo can withstand it; the older man also had it coming with being unlikable. I was laughing and hoping for more torment on this guy, that's how unbothered I was about the physical abuse. But that's where my enjoyment ends, because Rochelle tries to pass off this dynamic as love, and as I say again- THIS IS NOT LOVE.
It's lust at a bare minimum, and even that can be questioned. Dre & Theo come off as two men who want to one-up the other, and when there are lines such as, "I KNOW this is love. It must be!" then it makes me think the author is crawling out the page, grabbing my shirt, & begging me to believe it.
Theo was quite a disappointment, as I already came in unsure of how much I'd like a poly story. I needed him to be that anchor that brought Gabe & Dre closer together, and he just wasn't. I could tell from the first chapter he narrated that this guy was an absolute douche. He starts off a narcissistic wealthy man who has frequent sex parties, and boasts about being able to sleep with whoever he wants. By the end, he gets exactly what he wants, including two partners that collectively satisfy his dom/sub desires.
It feels like Theo doesn't learn anything that matures his character, nor does he make any significant sacrifices out of love for the twins. Hell, one chapter he threatened to KILL one of them! This is the guy that I want to see happy?! Whatever apologies he makes feel slapped on or incited with the promise of sex as a reward; it never feels genuine, and him being the new addition to our cast of characters feels like a stain on a white bedsheet.
I mentioned in my previous reviews that the voice actors are excellent in their portrayals of these supes, and I don't change my mind for this sequel, I just think that Phillip Alces' voice for Gabe & Dre aren't suitable. Nick J. Russo's depiction of Theo was unique enough that I could picture the snarky asshole talking in my ear, but given that the twins are the youngest, I was expecting a more youthful voice than Alces'. I find it hard to imagine a timid Gabe carrying a gruff tone akin to Wolfgang's.
The progression of story was lost upon me as I truly couldn't grasp much of what was going on that had a big importance to the overall story. Yes, there were a few points that I can't say unless I spoil it for you, but even that had me wondering: What was the point? Why did that need to be a thing? It felt like a drag to be plowing through each chapter of either dull plot progressions or predictable, uninspiring sex.
Speaking of which, it would be rude of me to not explain my thoughts on the sex scenes. As I mentioned earlier, I had my concerns about reading a story involving polyamory. It's not a relationship dynamic I enjoy, but the series won my heart enough that I gave it a chance. But, turns out, I didn't need to worry about a poly couple with twins getting it on because it wasn't that scandalous! I mean, the few times that Gabe & Dre are engaging in intercourse with Theo always feels as if they are in two separate sex scenes- there's no connection!
"So are you saying you were expecting the twins to sleep with each other directly?"
What's the point of hyping up a poly couple with twins if you're not going to go all out? It's complicated because it's not like I'm saying incest is okay, but golly, the pair are already stuck at the hip, might as well touch tips! But the author makes it extremely clear through dialogue that the twins being "together" will NEVER happen. Even as someone who doesn't like poly or incest stories, there was still a level of disappointment I felt about that.
I was also disappointed by the lack of tension between Gabe & Dre when it came to their trio bond. I know they were built up to love each other no matter what, but there wasn't a single moment where either of them really argued about sharing Theo. I think Gabe mentions something, like, "I can't believe we have the share the same person!" but Dre follows it up with, "Are you crazy? There's no one I'd rather share someone with!" so the possibilities of them growing apart from their mutual love for Theo is dropped as quickly as its introduced.
Their honest talks about sex is also pretty crazy; for them not being more intimate, they sure are fine with being walked in on while in the middle of intercourse. They have no hesitation spilling their guts about how badly they want to screw Theo while the other watches. I get that everyone is honest about their love lives, but Gabe & Dre were already close-knitted, and this could've been a wonderful opportunity to have them finally grow apart for a while.
Have Gabe fall in love with Theo first, while Dre works up the courage to confess his own feelings. When Dre finds out Gabe & Theo are a thing, he could throw a fit, run off, be on his own for a while. Gabe can also close himself off to Theo because of this reaction, wondering if his decision to sleep with him ruined his brotherly relationship. You could even have Dre accuse Gabe of not being loyal to the mission, which can reflect his own insecurities about not being trusted in the family, as well as a cover up for his heart breaking at the thought of being rejected by Theo. Finally, Theo can help reconcile the brothers by saying he loves them both in different ways, which could keep their individuality, but also give them the hall pass to indulge in Theo together.
I'd say most of the story's love scenes involve only Theo & Gabe, and the latter half includes Dre- who spends most of it belittling & hurting Theo for his amusement. Sure, there are scenes where they "work together," but if you were hoping for the twins to discover each other's bodies- Sorry, all that love is directed to Theo. The build up to these scenes are similar to the other books, with the constant spew of adoration, talking about how, "If he leaves me, I'll die" or "I need him inside me to feel complete." Rochelle has never faltered in her ability to make a thousand sentences to describe wanting someone's c*ck. However, with the combination of repetition & underwhelming characters, this book brought me the least joy, the least excitement, and the least amount of pleasure.
"Enter the Multi-Vers" had great potential to strengthen the twins and their new lover to a cast of characters we can root for, but for me, I was upset that their love story is nothing different from someone eyeing another at a bar and taking them home for a night. In the mere weeks they know each other, they're already saying they want to protect this bond with their lives, but let me ask you this: How would they fair at a grocery store? What is their dynamic when they are walking among Big City? Does Theo know the twins' favorite color?
What I'm getting at is, this relationship is built only on lust; it would never survive past a month. I don't see the trio as friends, confidantes, or partners- only f*ck buddies. Whatever love is felt is only because of the 'Inventus' bond- nobody can convince me otherwise.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I had officially decided there was nothing I loved more in life than making Andre lose control. Well, besides making a mess of Gabriel. So why not both? Preferably at the same time.
The perfect conclusion to the Villainous Things series! I loved every moment of this book. It was hard to put down, keeping me up late and invading my thoughts when I was forced to take a break.
The MCs were great – the supervillain twins, Gabe and Dre, and the alien villain, Theo. Who doesn’t love unhinged MCs, especially ones that have an insatiable drive to claim those they perceive as theirs? This book is full of feelings of ownership and possession as the fated mate bond takes hold between the three. It leads to some fun touch-him-and-die moments.
Gabe had soft edges and came into his own as he learned his kinks (his sub-awakening). Dre was the hard twin, hamstrung by his supe status that kept him from exploring his dominant side. I adored how Dre took his brother’s hand and helped lead him navigate the scene. Dre was incredibly protective of his twin but also gave him the space to investigate his relationship with Theo.
Fast-burn and spicy, there are MM and MMM scenes, dom/sub-elements, fancy appendages (tendrils are 100x better than tentacles – just ask the twins), claimings, and dirty talk.
Enter the Multi-Vers is a standalone that ends in a HEA for the three MCs. While a standalone, the series must be read in release order. The overarching supe origin plotline concludes here.
I highly recommend this whole series!
Genre: Urban Fantasy Romance Tropes/Features: Supervillains and an alien villain, huge age gap, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, twins, secret identities, dom/sub, virgin MMC, sub-awakening, praise kink, chosen family Narrator: Multi 1st Person POV Relationship Type: MMM, fast burn, spicy Book Type/Ending: Interconnected Standalone with HEA, series should be read in release order TW/CW: Extensive TW and CW available in book
I don't know how I feel about this one. I really, really liked some parts and then other parts were great, but not for me.
Let me start with what I liked. First, I love this universe. It's so fun and C. Rochelle is a delightful writer! I love Gabe, who is so sweet and innocent, as well as Andre, who is commanding and dominant. Theo was delightfully bratty and unique. Sometimes I couldn't get a read on him, and other times he cracked me up. I really enjoy their dynamic together. They all fit so well. I liked the push/pull of the three of them as well as the family dynamics and hidden secrets. And of course I LOVED every second the entire clan was together. There were a few really sweet moments between Theo and the twins, which I also appreciated.
What isn't exactly for me is all the world building. I got confused, but overall it did wrap up some loose ends nicely. It was just a lot. And I also didn't quite feel the love between these three as much as I felt the lust. But I also think that's just how they are. They aren't going to be sweet and romantic except on occasion.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series and I absolutely love the writing. It's funny and witty.
Notes: 3/5 spice levels, mmm, super villains/alien, bratty mc, intern/boss, secrets, family
I do not read MMM as you all know. This is my first. I was willing to take the risk. So, I did. I was so disappointed. The reason why I hate reading MMM because somebody will always feel left behind as usual. I do not want to feel that while reading the book. Not only, I did not get to know Dre that much, he also feel like a prop in this book. I do not care if he is the most powerful sibling or etc. The sensei and other cringe things I can make an exception but Dre being just there for the sake of being there is so... And also him being ignored by Wolfy and finding out he is powerful after all and a leader does not make up. Also, Theo is so weird. He feels like a cartoon most of the times. I cannot take him seriously..I feel like Gabe is the only one who is im love. Maybe Theo felt more lust for Dre and more affectionate for Gabe but that is it. The romance aspect of this is lacking. And I willingly risked myself reading this book because I wanted more interactions and cameos from my fave characters in this series. I was a bit disappointed but anyway. I want more Balty and Zion. I feel like their book should have answered at least the missing plot and story which was all crammed in this book which made it longer but also seem shorter cause this one was not romance focused and the lack of heat was so...
Ok fine, I’m not THAT confused. This series has been a wild ride and the strange age gap twin-involved romance fit into the vibe. Dre takes kink to a new level in this book, and it was fascinating. Even though the kinks involved (at least most of them) aren’t to my taste, I love being exposed to different ideas. The author focuses heavily on consent and safe words in all the books in this series, which is impressive when dealing with psychotic bloodthirsty main characters. Theo and Dre were quite a bit more unhinged than Gabe, but he still fit right in. It was fun to see the loving patience between brothers and the care they had for all their siblings. Am I the only one hoping for Vi to hook up with Kai? Because that needs to be a book.
Spice: 5/5
Spice: author has an EXTENSIVE list at front of book. Violence, gore, murder, incineration, grief, child abuse (off page), torture, dismemberment, blood play, mind control, memory wiping, kidnapping, short stint in space without protection
