The Mate Mistake #2

Never Say Never

Rate this book
How far would you go to keep a brother who was never meant to be yours?

When Keenan, an alpha and enforcer for the Carbondale pack, realizes his stubborn refusal to acknowledge the truth of their relationship is the reason his omega brother is a shadow of his former self, he accepts the only way to fix what’s broken in Ellis is to give in to his wolf’s darkest desires.

During a high stakes game of truth or dare that takes an unexpected turn, he does the unthinkable.

He mates with his little brother.

As they seek solitude and succumb to the effects of the false heat triggered by the mate bite, Keenan and Ellis forget about the possible repercussions that await them at home.

Will Keenan get to keep his baby brother as his own? Or will the brothers be pulled apart before they have a chance to really be together, by an alpha who may be unwilling to make an exception for them?

Her favorite season is winter—hello, snow—but in the summer, she travels as much as possible.

Some of her favorite spots are The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Dead Horse Point, Moab UT, Gatlinburg TN, Helen GA, Silverton CO, Roswell, NM—plus honestly, a lot more. The list is nearly endless.

A few places she plans to go in the future are New Orleans, LA and Salem, MA during spooky season, Smuggler's Notch, VT during autumn, the Colorado Mountains during the winter, New York City, Washington DC, a cruise to anywhere, on a hot air balloon ride, on a train trip down the California Coast . . .

In 2021, she decided because she is married to a twin it was best NOT to publish her books featuring twincest and other questionable themes under her married name as her husband would not approve.

“I’d carve my own heart out to ensure your happiness, mon loup.”

It's no secret that I absolutely adored the first book and was super excited for Keenan and Ellis' story, but now that I read Never Say Never, I dare say that I enjoyed this book even more.

We meet Keenan and Ellis in For nEver Mine, and towards the end, we see they have "accidentally mated". This book focuses on the lead-up to that night and the aftermath.

I loved how low angst this story was. Yes, it's taboo, but sometimes you just need two brothers in love without all the heavy stuff. Don't get me wrong, Keenan and Ellis cause tension and issues within their family, but in the end they are accepted. So don't expect them to be shunned or rejected; that is not the focus of this story.

I adored how affectionate and close they were before becoming mates. Ellis is the baby of the family and the only Omega, and Keenan is the eldest and Alpha. Ellis is doted on and spoiled by his big brother.

He’s not just my big brother, he’s my best friend too. Our souls are as close as two souls can be without a mate bond, so if Keenan’s hurt, I’d know. I’d feel it. Something inside of me would shatter. Right?

Keenan loves me in a way no one else ever has. I love him too. In ways I don’t—shouldn’t—want. He makes it impossible not to. For me and my wolf. If he was unkind or ignored me it would be easier, but that’s not him. He’s never been unkind, or denied me attention and affection when I want it.

I appreciated Riley's strength as an Omega, but I also loved how Odessa wrote Ellis! I jokingly say that I'm an omegaverse traditionalist; I like my Alphas like Alphas and my omegas as omegas with that traditional Alpha/Omega relationship dynamic. I get that in this book. We have the size difference; Ellis is more submissive, and I love how his brother reassured him that it's okay just to be himself, an omega and that there's strength in that.

The steam and the kinks.

Odessa writes some A++ steamy scenes, but this book takes it to another level. We get CNC, mouth knotting!!! (like I can count on one hand how many times I read that in a book), breath play, shift sex and more!! I loved it all so much.

The world-building! I am super excited for what is to come in this series, we get a peek as this book sets up next story. I am so excited because we are going to get mpreg in this world and I’m hoping that we will get to see both Riley and Ellis pregnant by their brothers! I need some honest to god incest mpreg, please and thank you!

Overall I really enjoyed Never Say Never and can’t wait for Locke and Jaiden’s story!

Keenan and Ellis get their story! The second book in the Omegaverse wolf-shifter bro-cest series. Oldest son (Alpha) and the youngest son (Omega).

The pack dynamics were fun. I enjoyed seeing Shiloh and Riley, and Jaiden and Locke.

I think I wanted more angst or tension, but maybe that's a me thing. I didn't feel 100% invested.

These books have a little action, some pining, possessiveness and jealousy, lots of sex, and time in wolf form, chasing, and fucking.

The pet name was cute, mon loup (my wolf).

Looking forward to the Omega Wolf's Curse series!

Moments:

“No one,” he rasps in my ear, voice thick with dominance, “will ever touch you again. Understand?”

Step right up! See the Bonded Brothers! Not just one, but two sets of brothers who bang!

“But . . . what do you think about knotting my mouth?”

I grasp his chin, tip his head back. “Oh, I want to try. Your pretty mouth stretched around my knot? I’m all for that.”

Kinks:
Heat Sex, Knotting, Mouth Knotting, Outside Sex, Breeding Kink, brief Cock Warming, brief Throat Fucking, lite Breath Play, CNC [Consensual Non-Consent], Forced Orgasms, Orgasm Torture, Praise Kink, lite Degradation

I love him. I love him so much it hurts. How am I going to survive a lifetime of loving him but never truly having him?

Turns out I really like reading about brothers kissing on the mouth. Who knew.

I was excited to read about Keenan and Ellis after I read For nEver Mine, as they both featured a fair bit in that one. Ellis was such a bratty little shit, and I wanted to read more. That thankfully continued in their own book, but we also got to see more of why he ‘brats out’. I think these books are really quite special. Sure, they’re very taboo and very spicy, but it is way more than just smutty taboo. There’s so much love and intimacy. There is plenty of romance and depth to the characters. Their feelings, fears and actions make a lot of sense in the context of the world they live in.

This one definitely upped the taboo factor from the last one, and I really enjoyed it. It’s overall very low angst as well, all things considered. I want to go back and see what other good stuff Odessa has done that I can read. It was also super easy to buy direct from her website, which is always nice.

Highly recommend.

“Neither of you could be bothered to call?” I open my mouth but can’t find the words to explain. No way in hell am I telling our mother we didn’t call because we were too busy banging. I’d rather be skinned alive and roasted over a roaring fire.

I can’t sleep. My muscles hurt. Even my joints ache. Somewhere inside of me I’m bleeding out. Wounded in a place I can’t see. Only feel.

Ellis isn’t just my brother; he hasn’t been for a long time. He’s my whole world. The moon in my sky. The air in my lungs. Since the moment he joined our family, I have existed for him.

He wants me to tell him what a good omega he is, how perfect I think he is, and call him my needy slut in the same breath.

Never Say Never is the second entry in The Mate Mistake series. This story follows Keenan and Ellis and I enjoyed getting their full story, which is much deeper and meaningful than I was expecting.

Their dynamic is loving, affectionate, and of course very steamy. I liked how this story was able to surprise and keep me entertained throughout. Cannot wait for what comes next in this series!!!

Odessa has cemented herself as one of my favorite MM taboo writers and Never Say Never didn’t disappoint.

We first met Keenan and Ellis in the first book, For Never Mine. Keenan had been so adamantly against the brothers mating that discovering he’d go down the same path was quite the surprise. But then, perhaps he protested too much?

Keenan and Ellis’ wolves we’re certainly on board with their mating, had no issues with shame or denial while their human counterparts experienced all kinds of angst.

Their story is also piled high with steam, red hot, non-stop smut that didn’t want to stop. That fake heat was no joke!

I enjoyed the added storyline about Locke and Jaiden and I look forward to their book and whatever comes to pass.

⭐️ 5/5 – Sweet, filthy, and full of forbidden love
🌶 5/5 – Knot me harder, please—mouth included 😳

"Never Say Never” by Odessa Hywell—this MM Omegaverse brocest wolf shifters romance? Holy hell, it wrecked me—in the best fucking way. 😩✨
I loved book one, but this one? Much sweeter and wayyy spicier. Think: sky-high levels of devotion, possessiveness, yearning, and every single damn soft touch drenched in filth. Just how I like it. ❤️‍🔥😈

Keenan is everything, okay? Dreamy. Protective. Fucking delicious in every way. He dotes on Ellis like he’s made of spun sugar and sin. Whatever Ellis wants, he gets. No questions asked. He’s so attuned to Ellis’ emotions, it’s borderline psychic. And Ellis? He’s got Keenan wrapped tight around his dainty little pinky and knows it. I’m not jealous… YOU’RE JEALOUS. No wait, I am jealous. So fucking jealous! 😤

Ellis is a full-on traditional Omega—submissive, needy, soft—but with a sharp tongue thanks to surviving a family of chaotic werewolves. He’s the baby of the Beck clan, the youngest of six, and Keenan? Yeah, Keenan’s the eldest. Their sibling bond was already tight before they mated, and now? Feral. Rabid. Obsessive. Gimme more. 🫴🏻

And don’t get me started on the spice... 🔥🔥🔥
Keenan's dirty talk? Sweet hell, it melted my insides and my morals. The way he growls out filth while knotting Ellis? Ugh, I need holy water. And then there’s the mouth knotting. THE MOUTH. FUCKING. KNOTTING. I'm still not okay. No one warned me and now I live here. 🥵

Also, huge shoutout to Alpha Matthew Cassidy for being the kind of Alpha every pack deserves. I need more Carbondale Pack stories—Bailey and Jeremy next, please? 🤓

So yeah, five stars, five chilies, and one totally ruined pair of panties. 🫠
Odessa, you beautiful menace, don’t ever stop. 🐺🩷

Ellis isn’t just my brother; he hasn’t been for a long time. He’s my whole world. The moon in my sky. The air in my lungs. Since the moment he joined our family, I have existed for him.
-
Now that he’s mine—my omega, my mate—I can knot him, breed him to my heart’s content. I’ll need to keep him locked on my knot, pumped full of my cum, until his stomach is swollen with it.
-
“Need my knot? Need me to breed you, mon loup? You want to stink of my cum, omega? Have anyone who scents you know you’re mine—my mate?”
-
“Just admit it, Ellis. The reason you’re so wet is because it’s your big brother breeding you.”
-
He wants me to tell him what a good omega he is, how perfect I think he is, and call him my needy slut in the same breath. I can do that for him. Whatever he wants or needs to get lost in me the way I’m lost in him.
-
I look at him like a starving man would his favorite meal. Ellis is that for me. All the years I wanted him and pushed it down, having him now feels like my first bite of food, my first sip of water after wandering lost in the desert.
-
Like this, I feel wanted and powerful because of it. Just being me is more than enough for Keenan. I am who I am and he loves me exactly as I am—flaws and all. He doesn’t wish I was more or less of one thing. So long as I’m happy, he’s happy.
What more could I ask for in a mate?
-
“You took me so well. Your womb is so soft and hot around my cock. The perfect little fuck hole for me. I love you so much, Ellis.”

And maybe not even then.

Again, I really enjoyed this story! Keenan and Ellis are also siblings, like Shiloh and Riley, but the difference is they have an established secret side to their relationship that has been taking place for years, whereas Shiloh and Riley were pretty much idiots in love until they 'accidentally' mated.

I actually loved the underhandedness of manipulating the circumstances around their mating bond! Keenan and Ellis were much more calculating than Shiloh and Riley, and they were more of a 'traditional' Alpha Omega pairing, so although the brocest element of the story was the same, there are a lot of differences between the two couples and how their relationships have progressed. It was so adorable when Ellis wanted to learn how to cook for his mate, and when Keenan has always bought him soft fluffy things to make him happy and comfortable.

It was a little weird that mPreg was randomly brought up and introduced in this book with a side character when it was never mentioned at all in book one. Again, I've always struggled when reading books with mPreg before, but this series kind of made it work in my brain and it was easier to just go with it than question 😂

The set up for the story with Locke and Jaiden was really interesting and I definitely want to read their story soon - I'm hopeful there will be more books to come in this storyworld because I've enjoyed it so much so far!

2.5/5.

I really don’t know what to think to be honest.

The relationship of taboo nature was definitely better than the one of the first book in this series because it simply felt more taboo. Otherwise neither Ellis nor Keenan kept my interest. The repetitive sex scenes didn’t help either. Did they have chemistry? Yes, sure. Mainly in the first half of the book though.

The second half of the book had so much going on — and not necessarily much had to do with the main couple but more with the pack in general. That doesn’t really work for a rather short book like this one.

And well, I just was bored most of the time. The plot and the characters just didn’t hold my interest.

It’s kinda difficult for me to rate this book. I might change my mind about the current rating but I don’t think so.

To say Never Say Never was an enjoyable read is an understatement! Back at the Carbondale pack, Keenan and Ellis, brothers, have always had a special bond, Keenan being the oldest and Ellis being the youngest. For years, they've felt a way about each other that they can't deny, but never discuss, until they can't take it anymore. When an opportunity presents itself to them, they take it, consequences be damned, and mate. They take off and have an intense week of mating due to the false heat triggered by their bond and then have to go back and deal with the aftermath, only to come home to a very shocking surprise. This book was so well written. I really felt the desperation, need, and longing between Keenan and Ellis, not to mention the love they had for one another. And they were steamy as F! I mean holy hotness!! I loved this story and the setup for what's to come in the next installment of the series. If taboo, brothers in love, Omegaverse, and steamy reads are your jam, then I definitely recommend this book!

4.25⭐ and I'll state that this book is best I've read so far from this author.
I still haven't read Lovely In Red and Terrible Lovely Demon, but I have all the rest and this one is not only very well written but has everything I could've wanted - fleshed out main characters, good side characters, a lot of smut, interesting plot with good ideas and hopefully much more to come.

🔴 Taboo - Brocest
🟡 Omegaverse, wolf shifters
🔵 Mentioning of Mpreg, but not for the MMCs (important for the story)
🟢 Palpable chemistry and connection, very well described
🟣 Size difference
🟠 Age gap - 5 years
🔵 Both MMCs are dark gingers, if that's relevant
🌶️ A loooot of sex, very good and descriptive; knotting, rimming; t/b

If you remember from the previous installment, Keenan and Ellis were brothers who had sort of a love/hate relationship. Ellis is the family's youngest and only Omega, he's a mouthy spitfire twink who's always in trouble and Keenan is the Carbondale's pack Alpha enforcer, he's Ellis' oldest brother, who's always keeping him out of said trouble.

Ellis in my mind

"Such a needy omega. My little brother.
His taste is rich and dark. Forbidden."

In this book I've come to find out they actually care about each other a lot, Keenan is very protective of Ellis and tries to make him happy at all costs and Ellis has a secret crush on Keenan.
Not only that, these guys shift and take off for a run a couple of times per year and then - fuck. But since it's in wolf form and a different reality, they don't really acknowledge it in their everyday life.
Yep, out of the blue this information comes to light.

Keenan in my mind

“Just admit it, Ellis,” I rasp in his ear as I continue to move inside of him. Slow. Careful. But relentless. He can feel every inch of me as I enjoy every slick, soft part of him. “The reason you’re so wet is because it’s your big brother breeding you.”

When they finally do decide they can't stay away from each other anymore and finally mate, you're in for an almost 70% of the book long sex fest. Do not leave your house to read this book, I repeat, don't take this book anywhere else.

Keenan and Ellis were fire. In heat after mating, they're at it all the time. I loved the sex. I loved how accommodating Keenan was for Ellis and his needs. They work really well together, they just fit and they're connected in so many profound ways that you're thinking it was inevitable, the whole thing had to happen and there's no better choice for Ellis than Keenan, who's a big, strong Alpha who's holding Ellis down and fucking him into every possible surface over and over and over again

"He pumps into me harder, faster, sinking just a little deeper. Our bodies slap together, loud and wet. His knot starts to swell inside of me. I need it. It feels as if I might die without it."

The pack is however more reluctant to welcome Keenan and Ellis' mating bond from that week long mating frenzy, but they do it - but it's not the same as it was with Shiloh and Riley, at least I didn't see it.
Keenan and Ellis settle back in until they find out one of their pack mates is pregnant. Male Omegas in this Omegaverse aren't really pregnant and some packs would see that as terrible, so the Carbondale pack is expecting a full-on war to start somewhere in the future when the pup is finally born.

Apparently Jaiden's book, the one I've been anticipating for quite a while, isn't going to be told in this series.

Now I'm wondering if this series will even continue? It would be a waste ending it, since it's such a good setting and I honestly like all the characters.

The story is fantastic and I definitely recommend it.

I knew as soon as I started this book that I wouldn't be disappointed. Sweet and incredibly steamy, Never Say Never gives that taboo goodness.
The Carbondale pack is going to go through a lot of changes soon - this book opens up a lot of possibilities for them, but also gives them a new enemy.
I adored slightly bratty Ellis and his alpha brother Keenan, who would do anything for him. They really did try to fight their connection, but when they gave in? Phew.

Ellis and Keenan are everything. The care that Keenan shows Ellis, even before mating him, was goals. Ellis has always been spoiled by Keenan, that’s a given. Once they are mates? All bets are off.

I loved everything about this. The glimpses of Shiloh and Riley were great. Learning more of the pack dynamics was also interesting. But Ellis and Keenan burning up the sheets and sealing their mating? Good lord, that was yummy.

I loved this from start to finish and cannot wait to read more in this universe.

I was nicely surprised by the direction this romance took. We met Keenan and Ellis in the first book. From Riley and Shiloh's perspective, the relationship between them seemed particularly tense and it ended with the scene where we saw Keenan claiming Ellis as his own despite both of them saying they could never.

I was very intrigued to see how they would handle this tricky situation. I thought the plot would pick up the story from that very point, but no. The plot more or less connects with when Shiloh and Riley return to the pack, and we see firsthand what the relationship between the brothers is really like and the events that lead to that scene we saw through Shiloh and Riley's eyes.

I loved this first part, and I can say it's been my favorite part of the whole book. Not only because of seeing the affection and appreciation the two brothers have for each other (not to call it love outright) but also because there we get to see firsthand what they really feel towards each other, how it has affected them since they were young, and how they restrain themselves due to them being family.

Ellis and Keenan are aware that what they feel is wrong, but their wolves aren't interested in hearing it, and seeing Shiloh and Riley together, accepted by others, makes their situation emotionally unsustainable, especially for poor Ellis. This leads them to take a drastic step, and I loved seeing how all the pieces of the puzzle fit with the scenes of them that we saw in the first installment. How everything is perfectly threaded until our MCs achieve what they set out to do.

This book, unlike the first, focuses solely on the romance, on the taboo part of the situation, and on the fear of reprisals and rejection by their family. Unlike in Shiloh and Riley's story, there is no villain or secondary plot to complement the story. This makes it purely romantic and erotic, which I’m sure some readers will like more and others less.

Additionally, progress is made with Jaiden and Locke's plot, and new things are discovered that will affect the future of the universe the author has created. And I say universe because their story will mark the beginning of a new saga, Omega Wolf’s Curse, which will not be taboo and will focus on other tropes that I won't reveal to avoid spoilers XD.

I'm eager to see where that part of the plot takes us, although I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the author decides to continue writing more books in this taboo saga that I personally am loving.

"His green eyes glow, shining in the moonlight with a half feral gleam. The iris is barely visible, swallowed by his blown pupils. A flush darkens his scruffy cheeks as a bead of sweat rolls down his temple. His nostrils flare and I know he’s inhaling the scent of me with every breath he takes."

Never Say Never is the second book in Odessa Hywell's steamy, omegaverse The Mate Mistake series, and this is Ellis and Keenan's story. Recall, we met these two alpha and omega brothers in For nEver Mine, so you should be prepared for another spicy, taboo instalment from the Carbondale Pack, where wolf-shifter brothers mating is becoming a delicious habit! Whilst this is an omegaverse series, there is no Mpreg amongst the MCs in this book.

"Our wolves knew we belonged together way before we did..."

If you love a taste of the taboo/forbidden with your PNR, you're going to enjoy the spice and the love match in Never Say Never. You have been warned!😈

This has all of my favorite stuff! Kinks, size difference, possessiveness and love, a protective older brother. It was such a delight to read this.

Not only do we get a further glimpse into the world that Hywell continues to create with this series, we get to see Shiloh and Riley again too! I loved how they were there to support Keenan and Ellis — being open about their relationships aren’t easy, but they’re willing to be out there instead of hiding. (Well, that and it’s pretty impossible to hide).

I may have even cried a little because of the emotions we get, being in Ellis’s head and his love for his brother which he feels bad about. I enjoyed the soft moments and the hot ones just as much — and they find their way to make what happened between them more “acceptable” that the pack can’t deny their bond.

We also get to see a glimpse of where Jaiden and Locke are, opening up to a bigger story. I can’t wait for their story!

Seriously, if you enjoy incest with heat and love, a little plot, and fun shifter shenanigans — pick this up!

This has quickly become a favorite series of mine. I was so excited to read this that I bought it from Odessa’s website early!

I was excited to read about Keenan and Ellis’s route to mate hood as soon as it was teased in book one, as they were so adamant that a bond would never hold unless feelings were involved prior. I was surprised but delighted to find out about their relationship dynamic from their point of view. They both gave it the ‘old college try’ to keep their urges contained, but once the decision was made and the foundation laid for the mate bite there was no turning back. And really, there’s no one else for these two but each other. Keenan doesn’t really see anyone or care for anyone else more than Ellis and Ellis is a saucy little spit fire who can only be banked by Keenan. Just another situation of ‘right mate, wrong family’ (or right family if you ask the brothers). Watch out, Keenan’s got a mouth on him but Ellis isn’t complaining!

I was excited to see the plot moving forward at the end with Locke and Jaiden, hopefully they will get their own book and we will get to read their story!

I was very happy that Keenan and Ellis got a story. I'm an angsty reader and love all the angst. So although I consider this book to be low angst, it wasn't low enough to be boring. It was pretty great. I was pleasantly surprised when Keenan and Ellis' alters got involved. I was trying to remember if I've ever read a book like that and I don't think I have, but either way, I really loved that dynamic and hope to see more of it. I'm hoping there will be more in the series and whether or not it will be answered if there is something to the history of siblings being together in the packs. That would be really interesting to find out.

First of all, the human sex scenes were very hot and that should’ve been the redeeming point of this otherwise very confusing book. But at the 60% mark, the lil bro explicitly says, male omegas have wombs but they can’t be pregnant. And yet at the very beginning it says a side character will get pregnant (mpreg). Oh well, what’s the whole point then?? It did not sit right. i was hurt, sad and disappointed.

It was already such a confusing book. The alpha older brother says “my alpha’s kids…” Bro, like what do you mean? Like you have kids, already? Turns out no. i still dunno who he’s talking about bcuz in another scene he calls Shiloh as “his alpha.” What is going on, like let’s sit down and talk, please.

And then there was this strange quote where tears streamed down the temple. Huh? The eyes are below the temple though… unless you’re upside down, you can’t have tears flowing “down” your temple.. But idk, maybe i don’t know English enough.

After all this, the part picks up and i almost forgave all this weirdness bcuz the scenes were really good. (Only the human scenes. i skipped the animals screwing. im not gonna go through that just for this story.) But then that fact came like a slap on the face. Huh, so they can’t be pregnant, so then why all the hubbub about mating your brother??

i dunno, and i’m not sticking around to find out.

Keenan and Ellis are filthy hot, swoonily sweet, and forever mine! “Going to destroy your pretty hole, Ellis. Make it so you never forget who you belong to.” Ugh, I’ll never forget and (happily) may never recover from the fire these two spark. If you thought Riley and Shiloh were hot, better hang on coz these two will have you howling. And if the steamy and oh so dreamy relationship between them isn’t enough, and how it is, the enticing breadcrumbs left for us should have craving even more.

I enjoyed the couple though I felt the plot went nowhere. Or at least, there's next to no plot concerning the MCs and while the hot sex was hot, I guess this left me wanting emotionally.

That said, it wasn't repetitive compared to book 1 and I'm keen to see where the new spin-off series goes from here.

First of all, if you've read the first book - and why wouldn't you - and you have an idea as to how this story is going to go, I want you to take that idea, fold it into a neat little package, and then slam dunk it into the nearest garbage because what Odessa actually does is so brilliantly beautiful and unexpected, and you'd never in a million years guess the direction she goes! But that's also what makes this book so freaking amazing! I was completely blown away with how the author took us on an incredible journey of two souls fighting intense love and longing and then finally finding their place in each other's lives! Keenan and Ellis may be brothers but Fate determined that they belonged together and no outside forces were going to keep them apart! In kind of an ironic twist, Shiloh and Riley paved the way for the rest of the pack to accept this new dynamic between the brothers, and turned out to be two of their biggest supporters - after they got done razzing them! The twist with Jaiden and Locke came out of left field, and yet, fits so perfectly! I want to scream "More!" already but am content to wait patiently for the next book because I know that this author never disappoints. 5* for world building and character development; 5* for complex storyline and intense emotional connection; 10* for all the 🔥🔥🔥 heat - because this story is on fire! Do I recommend this series? Abso-freaking-lutely!! 150% and more!!

Keenan is the oldest of the six Beck children, and an Alpha. He has always spoiled his youngest brother, Ellis. Ellis is an omega and had Keenan wrapped around his little finger. Most of the pack knows to go to Keenan if they have any complaints about Ellis. The two try to stay platonic, but their wolves resist that idea and they occasionally have sex in wolf form. Finally, they can resist the pull of their wolves no longer and decide to mate during the pink moon.

Once they mate, they slip away from the pack for a week to solidify their mate bond. Both men, along with their wolves, are happy to finally be together. When they return they do get some strange look, a from pack members, but no one is super surprised due to how close the two men always were and how much Keenan spoiled Ellis. Their friends Shiloh and Riley, who have a similar relationship, invite them to move in with them until a new home can be built for them.

“Never Say Never” is a low-angst taboo love story between two brothers who can’t resist the desires of their wolves. They are constantly pulled together in wolf form, and decide to finally make it official as men, much to the delight of their wolves. The steamy scenes are off-the-charts hot. It's obvious from the beginning how close Keenan and Ellis are. Their love for each other is obvious in their affection towards each other. This was a really enjoyable story and I rate it four and half stars.

This is the second book in the Mate Mistakes series and can be read as a standalone; however, you'll have a much better time if you read Shiloh and Riley's story first.😘

Keenan and Ellis are the oldest and youngest brothers in a family of 8, and they've always had a connection they've tried to ignore. But when Shiloh and Riley, members of their pack who are also brothers, mate, a whole new world of possibility is opened, and Kee and Ellis can't deny their own connection any longer...👀

The first book in this series was my intro to omegaverse, and this one did not disappoint either! I'm not really a fan of paranormal romance, and shifters aren't really my thing either, but if Odessa writes it, I'm going to read it and love it. As usual, the 🌶 was STRONG in this one, with a side of praise k!nk to boot!🥵 This book involved a lot more of the overall plot of the pack as a whole, and does introduce mpreg of a side character. While this book does have a HEA, it also sets up the next series, which I'm SO curious to read and find out how everything unfolds!😍

If you're looking for a SPICY omegaverse series with brothers in love, this book is for you.🩷

I’ve been chomping at the bit for Keenan & Ellis’s story since I read book 1. Their relationship (even before the mating) was not what I was expecting. They have always had a strong bond. Keenan is not only a strong Alpha but a fiercely protective older brother to Omega Ellis. He’s always protected him and it appears that their wolves have wanted each other for years and those rare times when they have let their wolves take over, they get BUSY! They never talk about it and both are afraid that as humans, things would be different. When the opportunity presents itself, they take advantage and happily mate.

Most of the book is about them discovering what being mated means for them. Around 70% we get an astonishing discovery by a secondary character which leads into the next book.
