James Talbot believes obtaining a tell-all manuscript written by the notorious artist Randall Rhodes before it causes a public scandal should be a simple enough job. And when his client’s beautiful daughter also hires him to recover one of Rhodes’ revealing portraits of herself before her parents find out, the private detective thinks he’s getting two cases for the effort of one. But when the intrepid reporter Miss Victoria Paige decides to tag along for the ride, it becomes twice the headache and twice the danger.
Add in one jealous secretary, an amorous waitress, and a vengeful ex-mobster out to even an old score, and Talbot finds himself with more than his hands full on this case. Hopefully he can protect his client’s secrets while managing to keep himself and his newshound companion from getting killed in the process.
