I enjoyed learning more about the Prophet’s father. After reading this and Lucy Mack Smith’s history I believe that they were both prepared by God to be Joseph Smith Jr.’s parents! Wonderful people!

I enjoyed this book but I felt it was quite redundant and a little wordy. I would have enjoyed more of the history and not so much of the author's commentary.

The style of writing was a bit too frothy for my taste but I enjoyed getting to know Joseph Smith, Sr better.
