Diane and Kristopher Michaels had been happily married for over five years when they were blessed with their first born son, Kristopher Jr. They thought this day would never come after two devastating miscarriages. Kristopher Jr. was a dream come true for the proud father, but his dream would soon turn into a nightmare. At the age of five Kristopher Jr. is diagnosed with gender identity disorder which leaves him feeling trapped in the wrong body. Kristopher Jr. faces heartache and constant rejection from his family and friends as he transforms into the beautiful Krisette.Krisette finally finds happiness and true love when she marries her high school sweetheart Derek McQueen, but what should be a happily ever after turns into a situation of deadly consequences once her secret is revealed.
"Because I am a girl on the inside, but I look like a boy on the outside," K.J. explained. Yes, this book went there!! Two Face is the story of a boy who at a very young age knew he was in the wrong body and was supposed to be a girl. It not only explores his journey but that of his parents and how they dealt with it.
"I thought God didn't make mistakes; well what in the hell do you call this? All I ever wanted was a son to carry on the Michaels name and now that I have one, he wants to be my daughter." It was quite interesting to read K.J.'s transformation from being a little boy into a young woman. I haven't personally known anyone that has went through this so it was hard for me to have a connection with the main character. But, his parents were another story. One parent was accepting and the other couldn't handle it. The parent's reactions were mixed and I found that to be quite believable. I think the dad went to the extreme, but some folks do that and you will have to read the book to see what I am talking about. This book makes you ponder when you say you love someone unconditionally, do you really mean it or only when they fit into your image of them.
Two Face is a one of a kind book! It is unique in the subject matter and quite risky. This served as a wake up call to me because while I am friends with several homosexuals I have never met anyone that has surgically changed their gender. The experiences and events throughout the book were eye-opening.
I was fully into the book until K.J. received the actual surgery. From here, it seemed rushed and not as well-developed as the book up to this point. For this reason I dropped my rating from a four to a three. In conclusion, I applaud Trae Ferguson for being bold enough to write this book!!!
Upon getting married, Diane and Kristopher Michaels hoped to start a family and after two false starts, they were finally blessed with a son they named Kristopher Jr. Kristopher Sr. couldn’t have been more proud, that is until his son started behaving oddly and was soon diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder at age five.
The couple’s marriage is put under strain as Diane stands by her son and vows to help him live life on his terms. Kristopher Sr. turns away from his family, an action that ends tragically.
Follow Kristopher Jr. aka Krisette, as she faces ridicule from friends and rejection from her father. Blossoming into what she has always felt on the inside to showing it physically on the outside turns out to be a long bumpy road.
Finally, Krisette marries and the happy couple are ready to start a family… that is until Krisette’s secret is revealed!
Two Face, is an excellent story dealing with a subject some choose to ignore and others face it with violence. I loved the way Diane stood by her son turned daughter and Kristopher’s actions were classic. I felt there could have been more written between the time Krisette had the surgery and getting married. It was a little too convenient what happened to Kristopher Sr. considering it was cultivated and there was no remorse. I liked the ending and the poem written by La Redeaux
Author Trae Ferguson, stand up and take a bow because it’s clear that a lot of thought and research went into this project.

What would you do if you caught your five year old son putting on make-up? Or he wants to be a princess for Halloween? When you take your son to the doctor to see if he is gay or not, you get more then you bargain for; the doctor says he has gender identity disorder - he feels he should have been born a girl. Hmm...the plot thickens. Could you love your child unconditionally? Would you shut out your child? That's what Diane and Kris Sr. are faced with being the parents of a child who has been diagnosed with gender Identity disorder.
This was a great read that was outside of the box. Very evident this author did a lot of research for the subject matter. I haven't read anything like this before. If you are looking for a different storyline, this is a great read. We as readers are always asking for authors to give us original stories and outside the box and Author Trae Ferguson has done just this. I highly recommend this book. I love the style she has of portraying and uplifting the youths. I am on the lookout to see what Ms. Ferguson will bring to the table next.
The timeline was a little weird but seemed to make sense after things were explained. At one point I thought the story may be going in a different direction, I was kept on my toes until the end. I expected the ending and that would be the only thing I consider typical of the novel. Even with that quirk it was still an excellent reading. The poem to end the book by Laredeaux was the icing on the cake.

This story will open readers eyes as they read of Christopher Jr turning into Krisette. The Michaels set out on a quest to fix their son. But at what cost? What would you sacrifice for your child's happiness? How far would you go? Krisette ( Christopher) soon learns to deal with her change, but will the people close to her?
This book was good from the beginning to the end. The story plot did not drag on to lead you into the story. This story stayed with me for awhile. The character were developed very well and developed throughout the story. A very touching story, that had me wondering if it’s a true story.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole world wouldn’t judge or try to change someone. If that person is happy, shouldn’t they be allow to do with their life as please? There’s only one judge that I know of.
I highly recommend this book to be added to your list of books to read. This book will make an excellent book discussion, one that many will have a controversial conversation
Great job Author Trae Ferguson. I look forward to reading more of your books.
First glance at the book cover tells a lot about the thought and effort put forth to lead a reader inside the world of the Michaels family.
Kristopher Michaels is a little boy with a lot on his mind and not in the usual sense. While his parents are loving and attentive, there's something inside the child that cannot be avoided--he's not happy.
Diane and Kristopher Sr. try their best to save their son, but the damage is far gone for them to repair. How can they face each other knowing their child is not who he really seems to be?
Trae Ferguson does a smashing job exploring a tender subject with young Kristopher as the star in "Two Face." Her writing is crisp, sharp and leaves no stone unturned by the end of the story.
Outside of a couple of minor formatting items in the beginning of the book, it was not enough to deter me from the story by any means.
It is my wish that Ferguson stays the course of bringing dark subjects to light; she has a knack for exploiting them in a well-polished fashion.
This book deals with an issue I've never read about. Gender identity disorder would be a tough subject for anyone to handle. Diane and Kristopher Michaels were a happily married couple. All Diane wanted was a child. The couple had tried to have children and dealt with two miscarriages. They finally were able to have a healthy bouncing baby boy.
Kristopher Jr, knew at an early age he wasn't like the other little boys. He actually didn't see himself as a little boy at all. He went through so much very early. The things he was doing caused a strain on Diane and Kristopher's marriage.
I really wanted to like this story. It was about a subject that I didn't know a lot about. The story was okay. I think it could have been better. Some parts were a little choppy. I can say it didn't have any errors that I can remember to mention. I would read future work by Trae.
