Changing Tide

Rate this book
With the power of the gods waning, Artemis and Orion find themselves among a band of gypsies being attacked by the very shifters they created. Ruthlessly hunted and with a price on their heads, they turn to Chelone, the Nymph Queen, for protection. But, the price of that protection may be more than either of them is willing to pay. As Orion learns the secret of Artemis’ betrayal, their love is put to the harshest of tests. Can Artemis be forgiven of her crime? And if so, can she ever forgive herself? Haunted by guilt, she vows to keep her mortal hunter safe as they journey towards even greater danger.

On Olympus, Zeus suspects a betrayal as a message is delivered to the gods. He charges Apollo to certify those suspicions, but Apollo is keeping secrets of his own. Aphrodite’s control slips as the hunters consort with the nymphs and the shifters' strength grows. With so much going on, a single question remains. How many will drown under the Changing Tide?

This is the 4th book in the series and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the others, possibly even a little bit more. The story was interesting and entertaining. My only issue was that it ended far too soon! I felt as though the pace was just picking up nicely and then it was over. I hope there won't be too long to wait for the next book, as I need to know what is going to happen after that cliffhanger.

CHANGING TIDE is the fourth novella in Kelli Lockheart's 'The Goddess Redemption Series' that follows Orion and Artemis as they pay for the sins of the past. As pawns in the game of the gods, Orion and Artemis are brought together throughout time only to be ripped apart to further the game. In this, their fourth life together, Artemis and Orion will face their greatest challenge to date-retrieving something from Poseidon-only now Artemis is part of the sea.

For killing Orion in a jealous rage, Artemis has been sentenced to suffer as a powerless human and in each life, comes the death of her beloved mate. When the truth about why they have been punished by the gods is finally revealed, Orion is stunned to learn the identity of his killer. The gods continue their game, only now, Artemis and Orion have been pulled into a war between Poseidon, Zeus and the gods. Only Orion can stop the destruction and loss of followers by destroying that which Artemis created so many years before.

Kelli Lockheart continues the story of the gods of Olympus and their struggle to regain the powers they once held. But the creation of the shifter has all but destroyed the legions of believers and followers and it will be a human hunter who is tasked to save them all.

If you are a fan of Greek mythology, then Kelli Lockheart's Goddess Redemption is sure to be a welcome series.

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

First off I have to say…No! No! No! The first three books in this series all ended in a somewhat good way. You never learned the extent of each lifetime, but you didn’t need to. But you don’t get that luck in book 4. This ends on a giant cliffhanger. So be prepared! And be prepared to wait for book 5, Waves of Deception, as it will hopefully be out soon.

With the gods and goddess’ losing the strength of their powers nothing can bring Artemis the redemption she’s been spending lifetimes trying to achieve. But even after discovering that, she still plans to do whatever she can to save Orion. He is after all dead because of her arrow. A guilt she will never survive if her mind has anything to do with it.

Orion has seen the twinge of guilt in Artemis’ eyes in every lifetime he has shared with her. He has never questioned it, not until now. Now he wants to know what secrets his love has been hiding and no amount of protests from her will let the truth go unheard.

This has been the most emotional book in the series thus far. If you get a little sentimental you may need tissues on hand.

My Favorite Emotional Moment: A long overdue confession that had been denied throughout every lifetime they’d shared and Orion’s initial reactions were downright heartbreaking.

Installment number four in the Goddess Redemption series. This time Artemis and Orion find themselves within a band of Gypsies, but not for long as shortly after the story starts, shifters attack the band and the pair have to flee. But they're not along. Without realising it at the time, they rescue a Nymph who assists them afterwards to gain access to an island.
Getting onto the island is a challenge in and of itself. Once there, the trees refuse to part, then a giant tortoise chases them through the now parted forest. Finally, they arrive to meet the one who Zeus discarded eons ago for an arranged marriage. Want to know who it is? You'll have to read it! Needless to say, she helps Artemis and Orion on their quest but at a great cost to the Nymphs and the greater collective of magical beings. The shifters are sucking up too much power and things need to be rectified.
If you are already following this series, then this installment will suck you up in its wake and spit you out at the end, leaving you wanting more. It's becoming much bigger than just the two lovers and their wayward creation. The Gods are involved and now it seems, other magical beings who have been unwittingly affected by the unnatural creatures.
Go and enjoy it. Be left hanging at the end. But have no fear, the fifth installment is coming soon!!

Oh my, this series just got REAL good! We're finally getting more background on Apollo, the Sun God and some history on Zeus. I can hardly wait to get a full story on them. But for the good stuff...Artemis is fighting in a war with her love Orion against the shifters they created; in what seems an impossible task without their godhood. Orion will finally learn the truth of why they are being punished by the gods. It's amazing what these two will go through for one another. I do dare say that love will conquer all. Even in the face of true betrayal, Orion's love for Artemis will shine through. Did I mention there are Nymphs & mermaids? Well there is and Mmm I can't wait for the next installment. Orion is going to raise hell.

Artemis and Orion are mortal and finally remember who they really are ... of course, this throws a wrinkle into the process because Orion finally gets to ask why are they mortal. Artemis has to finally share that she killed him and this is their/her punishment, can Orion forgive her? We are getting closer to the mystery of "the master" which gives us more information about the gods - nymphs and mermaids make appearances – this puzzle is getting more and more complex as Kelli crafts some amazing intricacies I didn't see coming. The romance and sex between Artemis and Orion doesn't disappoint as they work to find a way to their real home while trying to solve this mystery. Excited to see what happens in part 5!

This series continues to get even better. I have to say that book #4 is by far my favorite in the series up to this point. I was immediately drawn into the continuation of the previous story, but in this one, we are now able to get a glimpse into the mysteries that have plagued the characters in the prior books. There are several challenges that continue to test the undying love between Artemis and Orion and a new challenge of a journey to search for a very special nymph who can ultimately restore balance to nature if found. The story’s suspenseful ending leaves you breathless and very eager to find out what the fate of Artemis and Orion will be during the next book.

Changing Tide is the 4th book in the Goddess Redemption Series and is one of the best. The fact that Artemis and Orion both know who they are made it more believable for me. You can get right to the action of trying to save themselves and the gods.
Artemis is still learning about trust. Her issues about Orion's reaction to the truth make her more human. She can not make good choices out of fear. When he finally hears everything, we see his emotions and his conflicts. He chooses to make Artemis fight for their love and not give up.
This is a really good series. Enjoyed #4 and can't wait for part 5.

Artemis tells Orion that she killed him and they are living and reliving to prove their love. They had to learn how to deal with their situation. Artemis has to fight to prover her love. This book made me cry and I want more. I want them to find peace and all the magical people/things leave them alone. This is a wonderful series.

Book IV of The Goddess Redemption series doesn't disappoint. The story between Artemis and Orion starts off a little slower in this installment, which is understandable because more subplots are introduced. More gods and nymphs are involved and it leads up to a very climactic ending. Really looking forward to the next story in this series!

Sub plots and subterfuge abound in the latest episode of the Goddess Redemtion series. Yet it only adds to the story without confusing the main plot. Add in a herculean task and you've got a fabulous book that is a joy to read. The series keeps getting better and better. Even those who don't read erotica per se will enjoy reading these books!

In the fourth novel of The Goddess Redemption series, the gods are losing power as the shifters hunt and kill their followers. A mole in the shifter camp requests and audience with Zeus. Apollo intercepted him, and demands to be the one to deliver the message. The shifter has information, and will speak only to Zeus. His message: The master wants Zeus dead. Every day the shifters grow stronger in number as gods weaken.

Artemis and Orion find themselves as members of a gypsy tribe. The past several days, the caravan has been followed and attacked by the shifters. One night, Artemis loses her 'shadow' - a gal who was picked up by the band - and meets with Orion. The shadow finds them, just before they are all attacked. The three escape together, making their way to the home of the nymphs. Orion still hasn't figured out what Artemis is keeping from him, but he is determined to find out during this life!

I liked that this time Artemis and Orion immediately knew who they were, unlike all of the previous human occupations. I also enjoyed getting a sense of what was going on in the mind of Apollo - the one who underestimated how Artemis would react when he inadvertently orchestrated the need for Artemis to redeem herself.
