Okay, so I LOVED this!!!! at first I was a little mad and thinking Huck wasn't like this, what are you doing Kelly!?! but then I started thinking back to previous books and ya, I could totally see Huck acting this way and changing. He is a DOUCHE and I am so mad at him. Sarah gave up everything for that boy, he needs his head checked out. It was short and sweet and introduces some new, awesome characters. I always started semi routing for Kyle and hoping he gets a book. Haha, true story. I cannot wait to see where the next part goes, I mean, I think I have a feeling and I sure hope it's right! I seriously loved this and cannot wait for the next part! very good read..

“Following You” by Kelly Harper
4 out of 5 stars

“Following You” by Kelly Harper is a short novella in her By You series that is meant to transition the point of view from Maggie to Sarah. It can be read as a part of the series or as a stand-a-lone book. This book finds Sarah and Huck getting settled into their freshman year at college and struggling to find common ground now that they are away from their small town home.

SPOLIER ALERT!!!

I have to come at this review from two directions…as a stand-a-lone/introduction to the next book in the series and as a continuation/book three in an already established series. If I look at it as a stand-a-lone the story would work really well. The plot is not uncommon in college settings around the world…high school sweethearts go off to college, spread their wings, and realize that their paths are going in different directions. Once the hurt feelings pass, they could probably even become good friends. This novella sets up the plot for the next book in the series well from that perspective.

However, I read the first two books in the series and I had already met Sarah and Huck. I watched them discover their feelings for each other and begin dating. I was invested in their relationship. I will admit that there were subtle signs throughout those books that Sarah might be slightly more committed than Huck, but it never came across as insurmountable. They both seemed to have a deep love for one another, built on a sturdy foundation of friendship that would go the distance.

The Huck of this book is a completely different boy. It is as though from the last pages of book 2 to the first pages of book 2.5 he became a different character. Gone is the sweet, thoughtful boy I really liked replaced by a boy that is self-serving, thoughtless, or at times just rude. I could totally empathize with Sarah and her confusion about where “her Huck” went because I was feeling the same way. I wish that Harper had given us one or two chapters from Huck’s perspective so that we might better understand the motivation behind his actions. Instead, something that should have been developed a bit more came off as rushed and completely out of character. The Huck from the first two books, even at his lowest, would never have treated Sarah the way he does in this one.

I did like the introduction of Jeremy. Harper gives us just enough about his background to make us intrigued and ready to learn more. His chemistry with Sarah jumps off the page and I can’t wait to see what develops with them in the next book.

Overall, I liked the book. My only wish would be for a little more insight into Huck’s thoughts. I would recommend this book as part of the series or as a stand-a-lone.

Following you is the Novella for the Finding You. I recommend that you read Following You prior to Finding You.

This is the story about starting a new life.....college life and that is what the main characters in this book are about. Sarah and Huck have been best friends for years and now they are boyfriend and girlfriend. After high school Sarah decides to follow Huck to the same college that he is attending. Big mistake there! What Sarah doesn't understand is that now that they are out of high school college is like freedom for them a freedom that Huck definitely wants to explore the college life while Sarah wants her relationship with Huck to grow.

After they both get to college Sarah notices a big difference in the way Huck has been acting. Huck is more into himself and wants to you know do the usual thing that college boys want....sex!

Enter Jeremy who Sarah meets in class and immediately they both hit it off. Jeremy is a late bloomer for college at 21, but Jeremy wants to start a new life away from home and he is hoping that college will be a good start for him. It's all fun until Sarah tells Jeremy that she has a boyfriend Huck and Jeremy backs away. Until...Huck makes a big mistake and it takes Sarah's strange weird room mate to set her ass straight about moving on and getting over it!

Now you can go ahead and read Finding You.......

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

Some things never change. I can still fondly remember the beginning of a new year on campus. It doesn’t really make any difference what years you are in or what university you are attending; apparently even if it is an imaginary one. When Huck opted for Franklin University over Brown (this is fiction and doesn’t have to be logical) his long-time friend and year-long girlfriend Sarah decided to follow him. This creates unlimited and exciting opportunities and conditions perfectly suited to take their relationship to a new and higher level. Moving from the small town of Green Falls to the city of Houston, added something extra and exciting to the transition. The life changing possibilities didn’t escape Sarah and she was hesitant to commit to her impulse and passion. You know you’re in the real world (and not back in Kansas) when you’re worst enemy becomes your closest ally. This is a story of change, the transformation of a naive child to an adult. Even as a man (that stood on the line of the opposition) I found myself rooting for Sarah and feel the anybody named Huckleberry should be left behind in the dust (and his parents strung-up at sunrise for naming their son that). I hazard to guess that the author doesn’t hail from the Lone Star State (Houston is closer to San Antonio than Galveston). Everyone knows that everything is bigger and better in Texas; I should know as I’m a Texan.

This book is about Sarah. A girl who follows her boyfriend off to college only to find out that life isn't always about what you want or what you see.
Sarah thought she was going to spend her college years with the love of her life Huck. But life has different plans for Sarah when Huck becomes a different person once college starts. Sarah is heart broken when the boy she thought she knew cheats on her and brakes her heart. Sarah is ready to pack up and go running back home. But her crazy roommate makes her wise up and stay.
Jeremy WOW! Jeremy is starting college later then everyone else, he is a 21 year old freshman. But ready to get on with his life and leave the past where it belongs, in the past. When he meets Sarah for the first time he is left standing there wondering if a future is what he deserves. Jeremy has demons that he struggles with everyday. And doesn't know if he will ever have a happy ending!
Sarah and Jeremy have a relationship that is rocky from the beginning, with her insecurities and his demons, will their relationship make it or will it be over before it beings.

I think of this book as a coming of age kind of book. It shows you that what you see isn't always what you get. Everyone has a past but are we willing to let people in and share our past with them?? I would recommend this book to anyone. It was an quick easy read!

This is the first book I read form Kelly Harper and the first book that I read in The By You series. I loved the characters in this story, each one fit together perfectly.

Sarah is struggling to come to terms with her new status of being single. After Sarah caught her ex boyfriend Huck cheating on her she had to decide should she stay or should she go.

Jeremy first meet Sarah when they first came to college and she wasn't single. Jeremy ran into Sarah again and they starting hanging out. There relationship grew fast, they both had feeling for each other. Jeremy has a major secret from his past and Sarah can't figure it out.

When everything comes out will Sarah still stay with Jeremy or will she leave him?

The characters in this story are well written, I loved Billie she was one feisty chick. She would tell you how it is, she had a harsh outer shell but she just wanted to be loves. I just loved her with Oz. Finding you was not only about finding love, but a story about finding piece within yourself.

This is a prequel to the authors next book, Finding You. I haven't read any of the authors other book so I, unlike many others, was able to approach it as a standalone novella rather than a continuation of a series.

Sarah is a young girl from a small town. She is in love with her boyfriend, Huck. They have been together for years and everything seems perfect between them.

Huck moves away to attend college, and Sarah goes with him because that's what you do when you are in love.

But true love doesn't ever run smoothly, as anyone who reads books will know. This one is no different.

This is a quick read. It is well written, the characters are developed well and I didn't feel I missed anything not having read the first 2 books.

I really liked Billie, Sarah's roommate. Even with her supposedly hard exterior we see a little bit more of her near the end of the book. I can't wait to find out more about her in the next book.

What a great novella about Sarah and Huck from Ruined By You and Saved By You by Kelly Harper. It's a short tale about growing up and becoming your own person. We always think life is all planned out but when we least expect it our world turns upside down. That's what happens to Sarah within the first week of college. She gets the roommate from gothic hell, Huck has an identity crisis (and a really messed up eff up) and her stomach does weird things whenever she's around Jeremy. Sarah needs to figure out what she wants for herself not what is expected of her.
What a great start to Sarah and Huck. A hot and steamy yet, fun and sassy story.

I really enjoyed this book...I'm very anxious for the next book, I need to know what happens next. I was really rooting for Huck in the beginning, well because who wouldn't for a guy named Huckleberry?!? Boy was I wrong....what a douche-canoe!!! I mean really who does that for someone that follows you to college?!? I instantly liked Jeremy and extremely curious to know about his past. I'm hoping that they end up together. This book was short but very well written and I love all the characters( except Lily and Huck) and am curious to see how these characters and their relationships develop. I'm hoping I don't have to wait long for Following Me.

This novella surprised me...First, by being hot and heavy from page 1. Second, by being really flirty and cute.

I am going to give it 4.5 stars just because the relationship fizzle between Huck and Sarah felt rushed and under-developed. I understand that it's a novella, otherwise I would have rated it worse. The reasoning, however, is so SPOT ON for a college relationship.

I cannot wait for the second book in this series. The best part about this book were the notes passed back and forth between Sarah and Jeremy! So adorable.

i received this ARC for my honest opinion, omg this was such a great story, you have a poor helpless young love that starts from two people that are best of friends then are in a relationship. sarah followed her love huck to college she thought that they both had the same plans. but what do you do when the plans are not the same or you are on different pages. what happens when you meet someone that make you feel all the right feellings but he isn't your boyfriend. then you find out your boyfriend has done the unthinkable. do you run or stay? loved this story.

I almost stopped reading this book, I couldn't understand why Sarah would behave like she did and the frustration nearly got the better of me. I did finish it but I'm not sure I'll bother to read on to find out what happens next.

Sarah follows her boyfriend Huck to college but a sweet romance from high school morphs into something else. Will their relationship survive?

Bring in the next one

Move over Huck, bring on Jeremy. Huck's a real jerk. I don't know how you can be so mean to someone you've know your whole life. Sarah definitely deserves better. I'm intrigued by Jeremy. He seems to have a lot to tell. Can't wait to see what his story is. I'm also hoping and looking forward to hearing more about Tate.

Short introduction to Finding You

This is Sarah and Huck's story once they go away to university. I have to admit that I was very disappointed in Huck, who would have thought he would have been so selfish. The next part of the story is in the next book, but both could have been combined into one book. Part of Kindle Unlimited.

So far I find Jeremy totally grin worthy. Blushing guys are hard to find, in a genre where bad boys alway get the girls. They cheat, make mistakes, crawl back beg and the girl always takes them. I am rooting for the good guy to prevail.
