This book is about the Welsh Revival, arguably the greatest revival ever. What happened in Wales so captivated the world that the front pages of virtually every major newspaper carried the story. This is not just a history of that most remarkable time, but it contains lessons that we need for our own time.

This was a fascinating read about the Welsh revival in the early 1900s. It contains great examples to follow in future revivals and also great lessons to learn from for the future. It’s an important reminder of and call to being prepared for revival and building our foundation on Jesus Christ alone.
This is an amazing book on revival. I started it during Lent. Even though it’s a short book and the chapters are also short, you can really chew on a chapter for weeks at a time. It gave such great insight in to not only what the Welsh Revival was, how it started, how it was sustained, how it spread, and how it eventually ended… but also how we can use that today and pursue personal revival for ourselves and our home churches. Revival is close to my heart and I really enjoyed this book. God touched me multiple times while reading it.
I think I cried through this entire book. This book was so stirring and so compelling. It is very obvious to me that the Holy Spirit moved in such a profound way that even reading about it feels like He is released all the more. I think everyone should read this book!
4.1/5 -- Really good book. I would've liked to read some more notes and details of the Welsh revival: things that happened during and particularly more reasons for its decline and the state Wales was in just a few years after it. Also would've appreciated some more tie-in's from his vision at the end... Similarities/differences, scriptural backing, etc.
But overall, I enjoyed reading about an incredible time in the Church's history-- how God was given room to work in unbelievable ways, changing a whole country for years (and many of the people for eternity). It definitely inspires me to not only seek Him more deeply and wholeheartedly, but to also choose and walk in more authentic humility, as I know that's part of the bedrock of revival, unity, and healthy relationships.
I am a student of revival so this book was perfect for me. I learned so much! The great Welsh revival spread all over the globe, like sparks exploding from a bonfire. God used children and teens like never before. This revival sparked the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles at the turn of the 20th century. Great read.
