I do enjoy ghost stories but this one was just so-so.
The romance between the modern day hero, Marcus and heroine, Henrietta was filled with misunderstanding. The entire plot with the villainess, who wanted to harm the heroine because she was engaged to a man the heroine wanted, did not make any sense. If she wanted the heroine's fiance, she should have encouraged the heroine to be with the hero, because that would have solved her problem. Instead, she flirted with and wanted to bed the hero, which caused further division in the H/h relationship and then tried to kill the heroine. Besides a ghostly couple(Jane and Kit), there was a ghost dog, whom despite being incorporeal, could eat sugared almonds(?). 2.5/5 stars

In order to get into heaven, the ghosts of two lovers must bring their descendants together, despite the interference of the Devil, a wicked widow, a French privateer and a ghost dog who likes sugared almonds.
This nonstop tale of intrigue, suspense and humor overlays the romance of Henrietta and Marcus.
Another great Regency, just like every other Sandra Heath book I've read.

Cute story with likable characters. The ghostly element was kinda fun but there were some characters that were designed to be funny yet came off as just silly. Still, the romance plot was strong -- reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet and I was very glad when they finally found their happily ever after.
