I mean… really, Cat? REALLY? I know the books you’re reading are not exactly chaste and clean (🤣🤣🤣), but… REALLY? Teased by the doctor?
Well, sue me. I needed some brainless fun, and it just popped up in my feed and winked at me (wdym your books don’t wink? Well this one certainly did…).
And then the book proceeded to deliver exactly what the title promised: almost 60 pages of hot smut. And I was all here for it.
It’s basically about Evan, who’s a bit of a hypochondriac and who asks his roommate/best friend (who, conveniently, is a doctor) for a prostate exam.
I KNOWWWWWWW.
And yeah, you guess where it’s going. But apart from being hot (and slightly kinky), it’s unexpectedly sweet and even had a sliver of relationship development.
So yes, the book delivered exactly what it promised, and thank the almighty book overlords that I’m here anonymously, because I wouldn’t want to explain to any real life acquaintance how much I enjoyed it 😬

Another fun and spicy read. Great tension, sexy smut.
I loved Micah’s bossiness, the teasing smirks, the manhandling. Loved when Evan realizes how into him Micah is. Very yummy times.

Imagine being attracted to your same sex doctor/ med student friend, but burying those thoughts and what they might mean about you. Then during an intimate medical exam, your body shows you just how strongly you feel about said friend, to the point where you hightail it out of there and then perform some self love, trying to achieve that level of feeling you experienced courtesy of your friend during your “exam.”
I enjoyed the conflicted feelings and the smexual awakening / gay for you elements of this very short but pleasantly spicy novella.

Well.
This was something.
Surprisingly very hot for such a short read. No emotional depth really, but somehow managed to be very sweet at the end. Pleasantly surprised and also one book closer to meeting my reading goal for the year. If you’re looking for something that has all the feels of “wonder, confusion, and exhilaration” brought on by a sexual awakening, then I highly recommend this one.
MM first experience between friends who originally identified as being straight.

The writing was ok but honestly I just needed something really smutty and the title and cover won me over (he could give me a thorough exam every day!) The story was really short so I also read "Hole in the Wall" by the same author.

Another good instalment to this short series. Doctor kink? SAY LESS
Even tho this is still short it took a little longer to get going. It had a bit more emotional background added, but I do think it would have all been made stronger with a dual POV.
If anything, I wish this leaned harder into the doctor aspect. I wish this didn’t all happen in their apartment but whatever, we take what we’re given.

Highly-repressed, uptight & straight-laced characters aren’t easy to write - they could become annoying and unlikable real fast if not handled properly by the writer, which is one of the reasons I’m not a huge fan of this character archetype in fiction.
Luckily, that’s not the case here and once again I couldn’t NOT give this book a 5/5 rating, just like I did to every other book from this author. They’ve got such a deceptively masterful grasp on building characters and actually showing it to the audience gradually until you’ve become invested in them before you were aware of it. The smut is obviously top tier, but it would never be able to hit as well without the characters providing the building blocks of emotional attachment pulling you into the smut. In the end, it’s all about the sweet, gooey, not-cheesy romantic moments that make you swoon, and this author is honestly one of the best at that that I’ve seen in this genre. With only a few brief lines, they can really do magical things and reward the readers with huge emotional payoffs after all the preceding sex, leaving you satiated in every way.
Luckily, that’s not the case here and once again I couldn’t NOT give this book a 5/5 rating, just like I did to every other book from this author. All of the shorts by this author thus far seem to utilize similar tropes: BFFs to lovers (w/a bit of clueless/idiots to lovers), first times, queer awakenings, and I am very much here for them. I generally like to read a short between longer works and/or emotional ones, but I couldn't resist - I devoured them all in one sitting. BTW - the author has a freebie called Accidentally Rimmed by my Best Friend - track it down! All of these are smutty - basically just one scene in the lives of these friends - but they also have a sweetness to them + a hint of HEA/feelings.
I do recommend reading this one last - it is a bit longer and more (emotionally) developed.

Evan is a bit of a hypochondriac, so it’s lucky his best friend and roommate is a doctor, how else was he going to get a free prostate exam to check everything was ok.
The banter between these two and how it escalated to spicy city was great, and then it went all sweet at the end.
This series is well worth the read.

This was not what I expected. It was more of a joke, at first. Then you realized, something was happening, but unsure. Then reality came and their reality became apparent and flowed. But the 2nd prostate exam was the kicker. It allowed them to explore and realize they did have a connection. Beautifully written and I enjoyed the playful nature of your writing. I strongly recommend this book. Eager to read more of your manuscripts.
