Thank you, NetGalley and Level Best Books for an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased, honest review.

DM Me for Murder follows true crime influencer Coco Cline as she takes on the murder investigation of her celebrity client, LaTage, after finding her deceased. After the news of Latage's death take over the internet and trending hashtags threaten to deviate the narrative in Coco's way; Coco decides to take matters into her own hands and solve Latage's murder with the help of her friends and police department.

Although the story focuses on solving a murder investigation, the narration feels lighthearted and provides comedic relief when needed. Jasper (Coco's friend) never failed to make me smile and giggle with his outgoing, humorous personality. However, the middle felt a little slow for me and was a bit hard to get through. I'm used to more action-packed mysteries, but this particular story was more laid back and not as dark as other thrillers I've come across (which was refreshing). The scenery narrations gave me The Summer I Turned Pretty beach vibes with the added bonus of a murder investigation plot line and pop culture references.

The plot twist towards the end of the book took me by surprise (in the best way possible!). Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to anyone who's just getting into mystery and thrillers and wants to ease their way into the genre. If you love pop culture, social media, true crime, and plot twists in a murder investigation, this book is for you!

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Mega-influencer LaTàge has contacted Cordelia “Coco” Cline’s Center of Attention Consulting to represent her for her rebranding campaign. But that connection was not meant to be. When Coco arrives for the introductory meeting at the palatial home LaTàge is renting in Central Shores she finds her prospective client dead. It’s not the first time she has found a dead body and she is not a suspect in this murder but the internet trolls are taking her to task. #CocoClineistheProblem is trending and some are even accusing her of killing the influencer.

The Sleuth Squad (Coco and her friends) are banding together to get all the information they can about LaTàge’s life in LA to determine who would want the celebrity influencer dead and why she was killed in Central Shores instead of on the West Coast.

Coco is very good at her job. She is open, friendly, and super tech-savvy. Her talents also make her an excellent amateur sleuth and certain members of the police force know it and want her help. She has Amanda Highgrove on staff to help her with Center of Attention Consulting and until a recent development, she was also ready, willing, and able to help Coco track down leads and follow clues. She also has her pals Jasper and Charlotte at her beck and call. They are The Sleuth Squad. Hudson is away on a press tour for most of this book but he and Coco make an effort to connect every day keeping their relationship a priority. In this story, Hudson’s mother is receiving an award so his sister Willow and her wife Reade fly in from California for the event and are staying with Coco. They too get caught up in the murder mystery. All the characters are fun and engaging but Jasper is my fave. He never fails to crack me up.

The murder mystery started off pretty straightforward and immediately in the first chapter. LaTàge’s entourage were not happy campers and all were suspects. But then a major secret is revealed which opens of the suspect pool. Coco spends time looking into everyone’s social media presence and then explains all she learns to the police. They can’t get a break with one key piece of evidence until Coco is able to contribute to the case in a meaningful way that blows the case wide open. But beware there is another doozy of a twist coming and Willow and Reade are right there with Coco when she makes an important observation. I enjoyed tagging along each step of the way.

There is another surprise after the mystery is wrapped that made me smile. Like Coco, I had no idea and fell for the ruse hook, line, and sinker.

I appreciated all the almost current pop cultural references, such as Twitter, now referred to as X, and Musk running it. After the last few weeks in real life, Coco may be heading to BlueSky more than X in the future. All the hashtags and her knowledge of searching social media accounts for information are always interesting. I always learn something.

In DM Me for Murder, Ms. Burr continues to make trending and technology cozy with entertaining characters that work and play together so well. The mystery was well-plotted and written and had my theories changing until the end. I do think this entire series has the ability to introduce a new generation to the cozy mystery genre while keeping us older folks on board as well. I am hoping for more Trending Topic Mysteries in the future. Technology is always evolving.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Level Best Books and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

I have not read the previous two books in this cosy mystery series, but its title both lured me in and slightly annoyed me (surely it should be DM For Murder - but the previous two books have had this format #FollowMe For Murder and #TagMe For Murder). Anyway the aching nowness of having our Miss Marple be an internet influencer, and all of its of the moment references (Pedro Pascal presenting SNL), is ameliorated by it actually being quite good. There is a right way and a wrong way to drop a reference, or use slang, and Burr unerringly always ends up on the right line even when she is borderline parodying herself. The book refers to X not Twitter, and also briefly lingers on how problematic Musk is, and in itself will probably be dated in about six months. But that oddly makes it feel specific around its central friendships and groupings. Oh, and the murder works.

Influencer and fashion vlogger LaTàge is in town to use the services of our heroine, lower-wattage influencer (and part-time sleuth), Coco Cline. The book kills its victim in Chapter One (relatively rare for this genre), and has general misgivings about this being the third murder in a year in the area and the third to involve Coco - it doesn't have the heart to do a drawing room style ending. Suspects slowly line up and whilst Burr writes for an audience that is probably savvy with much of the Instagram terminology, she treats it with a light enough touch to explain what's going on (it helps that the cops are largely dummies that need things explaining to).It is odd reading something so clearly designed to be consumed within the next six months, but that urgency gives it pace. I'm not sure I would even call it a cosy mystery, whilst it ticks many of the boxes, it feels a little more substantial than the average. I'll be going back to read the previous ones.

Coco Cline isn’t a suspect as far as the police are concerned in the murder of LaTage. Social media has other ideas , and she goes to work to catch the killer. This is a fun cozy by Sarah E. Burr!

Thank you Net galley for the chance to read this book and write an honest review.

This book was the first book I've read by Sarah E Burr, but I am excited to go back and read her others. DM For Murder is actually the third book in the series about various forms of phone lingo. She also has other young adult series that also look really good. I gave this book 3 stars.

I felt like this book was a cozy mystery that was pretty slow for the first bit of the book. I did enjoy how this book ended though.

Another winner from Sarah E Burr. I really enjoy Coco's world, this mystery involves a client flying out from California, an influencer that wants to shake things up and rebrand herself. Unfortunately when Coco and Amanda show up, at an up and coming, high end housing development, for their first meeting they find her dead. Who would want to murder the famous LaTage? When her true identity is discovered, and she had local ties, was it a family member, an old boyfriend or a member of her entourage? Coco has a hard time staying out of this as she is being branded by some as a jinx, I enjoyed how she worked smarter in this latest mystery, drew on her friends and family and worked through a lot of clues to solve a mystery I couldn't figure out until the end!! Thanks to #NetGalley and #LevelBestBooks for the chance to catch up with Coco.

I read #FollowMe for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 1) last year and I recently listened to the audiobook for #TagMe for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 2) so that I'd be prepared for the next one. I was looking forward to it and I was not disappointed.

Social media consultant, Coco Cline, is hired to help social media mega-influencer, LaTage, with her rebranding. Unfortunately, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Coco arrives for a meeting with LaTage and finds her lifeless body. Coco's image is on the line when the internet is quick to accuse her of murdering LaTage, so Coco and her friends set out to uncover the truth behind this heinous crime.

This book wastes no time jumping right into the mystery and I loved it! It had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I did guess who the killer was fairly early, but I'd make a terrible sleuth because my guess was based mostly on a gut feeling, not concrete evidence or clues. There was one thing the character said that made me suspicious, but other than that, I didn't figure out the details of the crime until all was revealed. There were also times when I questioned my guess because there were plenty of suspects and motives to consider. The twists and turns had my head spinning in the best way.

Sleuthing with Coco and her friends is always a good time. Jasper remains my favorite character with his larger than life personality balanced with his genuine concern for his best friend, Coco. I always get excited when Jasper enters a scene because I know he'll make me smile or even laugh out loud. In this book, Coco also does some sleuthing with a member of her family. It was good to see them bonding. There was one character who was in previous books, but did not play a major role in this one. I missed this character's presence, but the end of the book left me feeling hopeful.

I love the way Coco works with the authorities. They recognize her expertise with social media and they welcome her help because of it. Likewise, Coco respects the authorities. Together, they work to bring the killer to justice.

Diversity is something Sarah E. Burr includes in her books and that is no different in this one. It never feels forced. These characters, who feel like real people, just blend in, which is the way it should be. Sometimes disability tends to get left out of the diversity conversation, but not this time. As someone with a physical disability myself, I was so happy to see a character who is a strong, successful business owner, and just happens to be a wheelchair user, interacting with everyone else. He has a small role in this book, but this inclusion speaks volumes.

It's hard to imagine technology feeling cozy, but Sarah E. Burr accomplishes just that in her Trending Topic Mysteries. Coco uses technology, teamwork, and good old-fashioned sleuthing to uncover the truth. Central Shores, Delaware, where she and her friends reside, is a cozy, welcoming community in every way. DM Me for Murder is set in September, but it can certainly be enjoyed any time of the year. I'm hoping to visit Central Shores again soon with another installment in this modern cozy series.

Note: I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced review copy in exchange for my honest opinion on this title.

Coco Cline is a small beach town influencer and owner of Center of Attention who has the chance to work with a mega influence LaTàge. Coco’s not so stoked anymore when she shows up to a rebranding meeting to find LaTàge dead in a Central Shores luxury, beach front property. This story follows Coco and the police department (and many others) on the mystery to uncover the twists and turns of LaTàge’s untimely death.

I love a cozy mystery, but this one was much too slow for my liking especially in the middle. We’re introduced to a multitude of characters throughout the book, most of which I kept wondering “why would Coco bring yet ANOTHER person into the case?”… The story line of a consultant working with the PD is similar to another series, The Booking Agents, as well as the books the TV series Bones is based off of. The story of an influencer solving a murder case was cringey, the online following texted like middle schoolers texting for the first time, and I think I genuinely sat through an ad read within the first few chapters.

I think this would be a great novel to pick up for any young adults or newbies to the cozy mystery genre. There was a fun and surprising twist mid-way through the book to help keep my attention. The arrest at the end was shocking, but slightly predictable and the last few pages were cute though a tad cringey.

Read as an ebook.

This is a sequel book in a series, but it was easy to understand even if you haven’t read the others. The characters and their relationships are well-explained, as is the setting. The town and the various side characters are vibrant, and the mystery itself was low stakes and satisfying. There were several twists to the story that I didn’t see coming.

While I enjoyed this story overall, I found the main character a little difficult to relate to, and the attempt at “Gen Z” speech patterns felt a bit forced and even out of character at times, which occasionally interrupted the flow of the story for me. Generally though, this was an entertaining, quick read that I would recommend to people who are interested in influencer culture and cozy mysteries that don’t get too graphic.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Level Best Books for this ARC. This is my honest review.

3/5 An easy-read, social media-fueled mystery.

I am not a huge fan of cozy mysteries but this one was super cute. I loved the idea that she was a social media star and she did the digging. This is the third one in the series and I feel like you should probably read the first two in the series so have some foundation on who some people are. Just helps with the character development.
Other than that the plot is great and well engaging!

DM Me for Murder is the 3rd fun book in Sarah E Burr’s Trending Topic Mystery series. The characters are very likable and it has a fun young vibe to the story. Coco Cline is an Influencer with a blog and a consulting business. Famous influencer LaTage is coming to town with her entourage to meet with Coco. Unfortunately LaTage ends up dead and Coco is in trouble with her fans. Coco, Charlotte and Jasper team up as the Sleuth Squad to sort through all of the secrets and suspects to find the killer and clear Coco’s name. Coco’s boyfriend Hudson is out of town for most of the book but his sister and her wife visit and are good characters. This is a very enjoyable series and book. #DMMeForMurder #TrendingTopicMysteries #SarahEBurr

This is a super cute cozy mystery that follows Coco as she investigates yet another murder in her hometown. This time it’s the murder of another influencer. This is part of a series but definitely can be read as a stand alone book.
I found the characters to be fun and loveable.
The plot is fast paced and kept my attention. I did not figure out who did it until the end which was definitely nice as well .
I will definitely be reading more by this author!

Thank you to NetGalley and Level Best Books for this Advanced Review Copy of DM me for Murder by Sarah E. Burr. The book is a lighthearted mystery where influencer Coco Cline attempts to solve the murder of fellow influencer LaTage. The book has many twists and turns and keeps the reader guessing until the very end. I hadn't read the first 2 books in the series and found this very accessible as a stand alone read and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. The ending was unpredictable and I really loved that I was gripped until the very end.

DM Me for Murder is the third book in the Coco Cline series and came out February 13th.

While I found the first book a light, fun, delightful read the second and third made me realize I am probably not the target audience for the series.

I would actually label this young adult despite Coco, influencer/detective, being close to 30. The dialogue between characters is rather juvenile. Anyone over 30 or in a position of authority is portrayed as incompetent and not familiar with technology at all. Again, cutesy and forgivable when I noticed that in the first book but it has become a theme and standard now that I’ve seen it in all three books.

I gave this three stars since I’m sure there is an audience who would enjoy this. I think middle schoolers may like the series.

Thanks to Level Best Books and NetGalley for making this book available to read. I had a good time reading this ARC.

Coco Cline finds herself in the middle of a media storm after she finds LaTage's dead body. Coco's past sleuthing experience and her connections to both law enforcement and the influencer world undeniably qualify her to conduct an investigation and find out who killed LaTage. This story is an inside look into the world of influencers, fame, their secret histories, and all the drama that affects their lives.

From the beginning, this story is very entertaining. The characters' personalities jump out of the pages. You can totally picture these people behind the screen doing their influencing shiznit as if they were real people. The author took the time even to give them a modern dialect featuring all new words and included expressions referring to pop culture. "Holy Eras Tour!" That was pretty clever to me.

As Coco uncovers the layers of LaTage's life, the reader not only learns the mystery behind the murder and the influencer's life but also gets to know more about Coco's own personal struggles. This is important to note if you're coming into this story without reading the previous books. You don't necessarily need to read the first two books to appreciate Coco Cline. This story gives you enough information to connect with the character and creates interest in following all her previous mysteries.

Another aspect of this story that I found really cool is the feeling it gives you that you are consuming influencer media. For example, there's a scene where Coco is making a meal out of a meal kit, and the narration totally feels like an influencer advertising a sponsorship. It really made me chuckle; it is like we can't escape this "influencing" business. The author found so many creative ways to portray this lifestyle in a funny way but also sent us a message about the dangers of crafting a public persona.

Ultimately, this story is an inside look into the world of influencers with all its positives and what can negatively impact your personal life and mental health. Other themes featured are bullying, small-town struggles, complex family dynamics, and friendship. Let me not forget that some romance is sprinkled here, too. There is a huge plot twist, so hold your wigs in place. No cap, Shooketh!

A fun weekend read for social media influencer fans and mystery thriller lovers.

Thank you to NetGalley & Level Best Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m a sucker for mysteries, so this book’s title and premise intrigued me from the beginning. I didn’t realize that it was part of the Trending Topic series (Oops!), so some references to past books went over my head. (That’s totally on me and has no bearing on my review.) Still, I was super interested in the concept of this book.

The plot of influencer & amateur sleuth Cordelia “Coco" Cline looking into the murder of fellow influencer LaTàge- who she was supposed to work with- was a fresh concept I haven’t seen before. As someone who has worked in social media for years, following a main character with such a background made following the case more interesting. I’ve never read a book where a murder mystery was followed from that sort of lens, so it was refreshing. The mystery itself was great too, what with all the solid red herrings and possibilities of who the killer was. As for the reveal of the killer, it totally surprised me who it was! It took a turn that I truly didn’t expect.

I also loved the small town setting of Central Shores. Something hits different than a murder mystery set in a big city. It didn’t feel like a typical small town either; it felt unique enough that it wasn’t a bland setting.

Where this book fell a bit flat were the characters and some of the dialogue. I didn’t mind Coco as a character, but some of her dialogue- which was heavily laced with “trendy” lingo (i.e. the constant use of “tea”)- seemed a little out of place when used in serious conversations. A couple of the side characters grated on me a little too, which made reading some scenes with them hard to get through. But the humour and murder mystery made the book a more enjoyable experience.

Overall, this was a solid amateur sleuth murder mystery. I’m definitely going to read the first two books in this series in the future!

Thank you net galley and level best books for the early. This book was a solid three stars as normally I do really enjoy cozy mysteries. This book follows micro influencer coco cline and her group of friends, family, and colleagues as they set out to find out who killed celebrity influencer LaTage. After finding out the star may have been harboring many secrets, the investigation spirals into something twisty and shocking. Normally I enjoy reading books that follow influencer as a gen z girl who follows some of them in real life, however this one ended up being a bit over the top for me. The characters in the book were constantly using generic gen z slang, not just over text but in real life which I found super unrealistic and kind of ridiculous. I, as a gen z, don't even talk like that in real life, so how am I supposed to believe these millennials are talking like this? Even a sixty or seventy something year old dad was using words like u instead of you, ur instead of your, and lol or dl. How does he even know what down low means?? The number of times they said, spill the tea, in reference to homicide investigation information drove me crazy. No body talks like that and also the nicknames everyone gave each other was also making my eyes roll. Not everyone has to have a nickname so saying cokes for coco or manz for Amanda kinda made me wanna scream. Also, jasper acted kind of poopy and even coco pointed out his selfishness sometimes so I'm confused as to why they're friends. It also shocked me to find that coco befriended her old, mean school bully who body shamed her. Couldn't be me but you do you boo. Anyways, besides all that, I did like the actual mystery to it and uncovering all these secrets about LaTage's life. I had fun trying to guess which one of them could be the murderer. 3 stars.

DM Me For Murder is the third book of A Trending Topic Mystery series, but it can also be read as a standalone. It promises a cozy mystery with modern elements. It's take on mystery is not often, and this "cozy-home influencer finds herself in a mystery" plot gives very beachy vibes. But first, I would like to thank Netgalley and Level Best Books for providing me with a digital review copy of this fun-cozy mystery book in exchange for my honest review.

To start with— this book had so much potential. I did love the theme; however, I was not too fond of the way the subject was handled.

We have Coco Cline; she is between Paige Lorenze and Nancy Drew. Coco is Little Miss Sunshine, and she knows it. She even acknowledges her annoyance from time to time. I liked how self-aware Coco was. But it did not make up for her annoyingness and sometimes shallowness. Considering she is an influencer, shallowness is understandable in the marketing industry. But she constantly compared herself or her friends or everything with other things. That is a realistic human approach, but the bigger problem with Coco and the book is that we become familiar with every minor detail—and most of the time, unrelated to the plot. The reader is exposed to every thought of Coco. So, I think the book could have been much shorter. This "too much inside information" made it harder to immerse into the story.

The dialogue was sometimes weak, and some words were too repetitive. Like "omigod" or "sleuth." And even though the book heavily relies on social media, some basic information about the app's usage was missing which created a problem for the mystery's resolution.

The mystery was intriguing, but in the end, I expected something more shocking rather than what we got. I would give this book 2.5 stars but not lower; hence, the three stars. I wish this book could live up to its potential.

Thank you NetGalley and Putnam Books for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

"But that was the internet for you. Just one remark, one comment, could make or break a public figure."

I would consider this a modern Millennial/Generation Z coded retelling of a Nancy Drew mystery. The FMC, CoCo Cline is a famous social media influencer who was meeting up with another famous influencer names LaTage. Upon arrival, Coco finds LaTage dead. Throughout the story, we follow Coco's various leads despite the county's police department not wanting her help (again, very Nancy Drew coded, caught sleuthing where she does not belong).

I was under the impression that this novel was going to be adult fiction, however it read more middle school/early high school level. The story and mystery was very surface level and it lacked a substantial amount of character development. The story is mainly focused on Coco interviewing possible suspects, but once the mystery concludes itself, it felt like all that investigation was useless and not relevant to the discovery.

I would have enjoyed this read more if I was in middle school. I believe this book is best suited for younger audiences who are well versed in social media. There are many references to social media that an older audience would not understand, which would likely disconnect them from the story.

My favorite part of this story was when we were introduced to Coco's friends, Charlotte and Jasper. I like how they assisted Coco with her investigation and were a supportive friend group. I would have liked to see more on the message surrounding the toxicity of social media, as the story touches on the 'social media hate' Coco receives after being the one to discover LaTage dead.

This book three in the cozy mystery series A Trending Topic Murder. The book is easily read independently from the first two.

Cordelia (Coco) Cline is an influencer and sometimes amatuer detective. A fellow influencer named La Tage’ is murdered. Coco lives in Central Shores and was suppose to meet up with La Tage’ to consult with about a brand make over. The police are working on the murder investigation but Coco and her friends decide to investigate the murder too. Coco has her friend’s Jasper, Charlotte and Hudson help her since the ‘#CocoClineistheProblem’ is trending and people online think she has something to do with the murder. There are many twist and turns for this mystery. Coco eventually prevails and discovers who the killer is. The police department does eventually admit that Coco has a talent for sleuthing. This books was fast paced and all the suspects were excellent. I enjoyed the relationship developing between Hudson and Coco and moving it to the next level. Plus there is a big surprise at the end.

In DM Me for Murder, author Sarah E. Burr spins another magnificent cozy mystery while taking on important issues of our day. Coco Cline, the story's main character and amateur sleuth, finds herself investigating the murder of a famous social media influencer, LaTàge, who has traveled to Central Shores to consult with Coco on a brand makeover. At first, fingers are pointed at the influencer's entourage, as we learn that all was not well in LaTàge's orbit. As Coco's investigation proceeds, she learns that LaTàge may not have been who she claimed. This opens a door to a large group of suspects who seemingly had no connection to the celebrity.
While the police work the case, Coco enlists her squad of wonderful friends and co-investigators, Jasper, Charlotte, Amanda, Hudson, and a host of other wonderful characters to figure out who whodunnit. There more twists and turns in DM Me for Murder than a mountain road, and that's a good thing. I found myself deciding suspect after suspect was the murderer, only to be pleasantly surprised by the murderer's reveal at the end.
While serving up an entertaining mystery, Burr also gives us a lot to think about as she explores relevant issues of the day like celebrity culture, the good and bad of social media, toxic masculinity, and mental health. There's a bonus twist after the murder is apprehended, which will delight Coco Cline fans, both old and new, too.
Full of characters you will love, and love to hate, DM Me for Murder is a cozy mystery you don't want to miss.

Cozy Mystery following a Delaware social media influencer & consultant and her friends aka the Sleuth Squad are on the case after she finds a mega-influencer dead.

4/5 stars: This is the third entry in Burr's Trending Topic Mystery series, which is a Cozy Mystery that takes place in Delaware and features a social media influencer and consultant. With plenty of twists and turns, Burr has crafted a mystery that balances the suspects, clues and red herrings and will leave you pondering the whodunit until the final reveal. Burr's characters are incredibly likable. It’s fun to catch up with Coco and her friends, Jasper and Charlotte (who are a hoot). And I really like seeing Coco and Hudson's relationship moving to the next level. I’m always on the lookout for cozies that feature unique careers and Coco’s work in the social media sphere hits the spot. This book touches on some sensitive issues, so take care and check the CWs. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll gain so much more by reading this series from the beginning; so be sure to pick up book one, #FollowMe for Murder.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Level Best Books in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Trending Topic Mystery Series by Sarah E. Burr and it’s the best one yet.
Ms. Burr has skillfully crafted a diverse cast of characters who return in DM Me for Murder. It’s like sitting down for coffee with a group of friends.

The body drops early in the book, and Coco is first on the scene. Using her tech savvy skills and social media knowledge, Coco and her sidekicks, Charlotte and Jasper, get to work figuring out who could have done it.

Central Shores Police Department Lieutenant Gavin McInnis finally acknowledges that Coco has skills that could help the department solve the murder. That’s a relief! And Coco does a good job of keeping him in the loop of her investigation.

The story is fast-paced and there are excellent suspects. There are enough twists in the story to keep the reader on their toes and guessing who the killer could be.

The surprise twist at the end of the book is wonderful!

Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. Ms. Burr pulled me into the story and it didn’t let me go.
It hits all the marks for a contemporary cozy mystery.

Thank you NetGalley and Sarah E. Burr for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. When Instagram influencer LáTage and her crew arrive in a small Delaware town, the last thing anyone expects is for her to end up murdered. Coco Kline is at it again, but this time, she’s investigating the murder of a would-be client. But LáTage may not be who she says she is, making the suspect list for this murder investigation even longer and more personal for small town sleuth Coco Kline.

I would rate this book as 3.5 stars. I love a good murder mystery and I feel like this novel delivered just that in a light hearted manner. It took a good 50-70 pages for me to become really invested in the story, but once I got there, I was motivated to finish the book and find out who the killer was. Some of the relationships with the main character felt a little underdeveloped and would’ve appreciated fewer characters with more development. There were also a lot of “gen Z” references, which felt a little forced to me, but maybe that’s due to me being a millennial. At the end of the day, I enjoyed this light hearted murder mystery and would be interested in reading future novels from Sarah E. Burr.
