Anna Worth

Anna Worth was born and raised in rural Minnesota and has yet to make the leap to escape the cold winters or humid summers. Minnesota burrowed its way into her heart, so she expects she’s here to stay. She’s close with her parents and borrows their dog on a semi-frequent basis (often, for weeks at a time). He’s a superior snuggle buddy.

A lifelong reader, Anna was drawn in by the happily ever afters promised in romance novels. She decided to try her hand at writing her own and picked up the metaphorical pen in 2021. She promptly fell in love with novel writing (as expected by a few people, herself included). When health issues pushed her to take a break from practicing law after almost eight years, the newly freed time and energy allowed her to pursue self-publishing her debut, Glitter Bombs & Second Chances.

She adores writing strong heroines, sweet heroes, strong family (found or blood) ties, banter, and happily ever afters. Eventually, she may stray into writing fantasy, but love is magic enough for now.

I’ve been so excited for Glitter Bombs and Second Chances to be released. I was lucky enough to get an ARC and it did not disappoint.

This book was the perfect length for a small town romance read. I love that there isn’t a ton of filler. She keeps the story moving at a good pace. The author does such an amazing job writing witty banter; I was giggling all the way through. If I’m honest, I don’t usually love second chance romance but this one worked really well.

I loved all the characters, especially her cousin Cassidy. That girl is so funny and has the greatest advice. And it’s kind of hard not to fall in love with Liam.

This is a great book to read if you’re looking for a small town romcom, second chance romance, or just need a cute book with a splash of glitter and spice.

I was so incredibly lucky to receive an ARC of Glitter Bombs and Second Chances. My first ever! I feel so cool.

This was adorable. It’s the perfect, butterflies inducing, second chance romance with really wonderful and witty banter. It’s got the small town “everyone knows everyone’s business” humor, a little spice, and characters you can’t help but cheer for. It gives the best vibes, and you can tell the way the author writes that she cares about these characters like they’re family.

It truly was a joy to read and I’m so excited for it to be officially released so I can have a copy of this feel good story to turn to whenever I need a pick me up!

These two ex’s really know how to sock it to each other - that’s for sure. The main character, Leah, is very likable. I could physically feel EACH emotion as she battles to save the farm she holds near and dear to her heart. What I really like about this book is that there’s something in it for everyone…farm life with horses, and the ever so cute dog! Art, music, sailing…and a fair amount of spice. I absolutely love Liam in his tender moments! Definitely a must read for second-chance romance filled with their witty banter.

✨ Glitter Bombs & Second Chances by Anna Worth ✨

Having been a follower on Anna’s Instagram for some time, it felt appropriate to finally read her book. Some immediate selling tropes/points? Banter. Second chances. DOG ON THE COVER. I’m not trying to be biased, but any book with an animal, ESPECIALLY a dog, is a good book. I mean, how could it not?!

In terms of the actual storyline, Leah embodies that moment most people go through these days — what kind of life am I living and is it the one I want? Enter in a life changing moment. Also, enter in her ex-boyfriend, Liam. A lot of change can be good… but other times, it can be overwhelming and can threaten to swallow one whole. This is what I really like on this story. Anna doesn’t shy away from grief, tension, or pettiness (glitter — it’s a petty thing, and I approve.) There are some raw, real topics depicted in accurate ways throughout the novel. But also, it’s not soul crushing. There’s a fine balance between humor and seriousness that made this a quick real because of the fine tuned balancing done throughout.

I also love the representation we see at various times — the growth of certain people — and the self discoveries along the way. In times of hopelessness and despair, there are moments of beauty and joy. My final selling point: on page text messages. Modern day epistolary method, and I’m here for it.

Spice: 🌶️.5
Recommend: Yes, but check trigger warnings first. Grief is a hard topic for some, and this book gives an appropriate representation to all aspects of it.
Movie Connection: Sweet Home Alabama
Storyline in 5 emojis: 😩🐶🚙🖼️💕

When my best friend and I went on a book adventure this spring we had the honor of meeting Anna Worth in person! I had not read any of her books but without even a thought purchased her book “Glitter Bombs & Second Chances” because if you know me I love glitter 😂

I finally read it and LOVED it and immediately added more of her books to my TBR! This is the perfect story of frustrated (and comical) revenge, second chance love and finding what makes you happy and going for it.

Sweet and spicy second chance Rom-com!

This was a fast paced read with lots of swoon and spice! I loved how quickly the storyline got rolling and the banter was on point all throughout!
It felt like a breath of fresh air to read a story where we still get a look into the FMCs life outside of the romance. There’s more to both their lives than just this relationship and I loved that!

1. The characters rarely had description. You wouldn't even know their age.

2. The back stories were never explained. What happened between Leah and her childhood friend? Several names were similar, and given there was no description of the characters I couldn't visualize who was who, but there was a Derek (the cousin ... I think). The point is it wasn't explained if they has some romantic history or if they were just mischievous kids. This male friend grew to have a male partner. Leah had history with Dolly. So I guess the childhood friend and Leah were exploring if they were straight or not.
Dolly is also another story. So... Dolly had a thing with Leah's ex, but they were still friends? And then Dolly left? But Leah was never angry... I don't know. Leah at some point says that misses Dolly. Leah also says that Dolly was the roommate friend with benefits. So Leah was also cheating on her boyfriend with Dolly. Idk... As I said. These back stories were mentioned and never explained.
What in the living world happened in panama!!!!

3. Liam was a mayor red flag. I mean.. do you love her? So make the decision to be with her. Support her and let her support you. He was very coward. Besides, he had this friend, Alistar? Alan? Well, he was really rude to Leah. Why? There is no reason for your bff to hate your boyfriend/girlfriend if you don't bad talk behind their backs. So it's pretty positive that Liam was trash talking Leah.
And finally, finally somehow he realized he loved her and wanted to be with her after breaking her heart two times, blaming her for his cowardice. I mean. And she doesn't give him an ultimatum or have a talk about boundaries about how their relationship is going to be. They just have sex and everything is perfect.
We don't know the ages of these characters, because... Not important information apparently, so I assume Leah was around her 30s. Successful lawyer (apparently. She hated her work but seams she was good at it). So a grown ass woman that might hate her job, lawyer and independent wouldn't have let the ass at the bank to misguide her into fake information, and would have kicked Liam's ass. Like: dude, I'm not your scape goat. Solve your daddy issues and let me know if you are the in or out of this relationship.

4. In the last chapter, Leah was seated on the bed while talking on the phone and then all of a sudden she is seating on the kitchen stool. When did she teleport?????
There are several other situations like that.

5. What happened with the goats? What was that?. There were goats and it was funny to her. Why? Who knows.

And I'm angry. Because I really wanted to read this book that at the time was not shipped to Chile. So I had to ask a friend to buy it and ship it to Valparaíso. It was hell expensive!!!!!!

AND THERE WAS TECHNICALLY ONLY ONE GLITTER BOMB. not even relevant in the book to put it on the title.

I am sorry. I am so sorry. I generally give good reviews. It is not a thing with the author. I'm sure author is a great person. This is not an attack to the author. Its just that it is very hard for me not to solve these details....

After the sudden Loss of her aunt, Leah decides to at least try to rescue the hobby farm, she and her cousins practically grew up on. Facing obstacle after obstacle, but finding help and new friends in the process, Leah has one other major problem: Her much too handsome ex. When the two clash one time too often and they need to make up publicly to salvage his reputation, what could possibly go wrong?

I really liked Leah's story. Seeing how she finally takes the leap to follow her dreams and leave her emotionally draining job behind. Her support system of cousins and friends is truly amazing. The ending was a bit rushed f(or me) but overall this is a really wonderful story of taking second chances and making the best of it 💛

Currently reading the book, we met Anna yesterday at the indie bookstore in Austin, MN. Quite a chance encounter! I like the "Better Call Saul meets Dwight Schrute" aspect of the story's premise, so far. I will make an update of this review after I read it. The book is a gift to my wife this past Valentines day. Thank you, Anna for signing our book.

I loved Anna’s writing from Someone Borrowed that I went to look up her other books. I didn’t know it at the time but this book is very different from Someone Borrowed. I really enjoyed this one too. Based in MN which is always a favorite and force into close quarters. I really enjoyed the back and forth of the characters and the “pranks” they played on eachother.

A cute book but had trouble trying to follow the characters and what some of their purpose in the story was.
