This is the catalogue of the 2024 exhibition at the British Museum. The five essays are extremely useful in terms both of analysis of the works and of consideration of the social, religious, and political context in which Michelangelo lived and worked. His own spiritual life is also usefully discussed. The balance between analysis of the works and the social/political/biographical element is good. There are also some excellent reproductions.
