This book and The Longest Day by Cornelius Ryan are the only books you need to read about this fascinating day and story. I thoroughly enjoyed the visual view provided by the maps as well as the sketches amd images included. I read the 2024 edition. My only wish is for the text to better reference the map associated with it. At points it was hard to identify which map displayed what the text was explaining.

Fairly decent overview writing on the Normandy landings. One or two errors in the descriptions of photos. In particular one of the images he claimed was from Juno Beach however that was incorrect.
