Es beginnt mit einem alles andere als besinnlichem Weihnachtsfest.
Die 7 Jährige Kara wird Zeugin eines brutalen Massakers an ihrer Familie. Ihr Halbbruder Jonas wird für die Tat verhaftet, ihre Schwester Marlie verschwindet spurlos.
Kara versucht ihr Leben zu bewältigen, doch als 20 Jahre später Jonas Entlassung bevorsteht, gerät es wieder ins wanken.
Wer schreibt ihr plötzlich diese Nachrichten?
Wer ruft mitten in der Nacht bei ihr an?
Ist Jonas wirklich schuldig und was ist mit Marlie geschehen?
Wer ist für die Morde verantwortlich, die seit Jonas Entlassung passieren.
Beim lesen bekommt nahezu jede Person ein Motiv oder macht sich mit anderen Geheimnissen sehr verdächtig.
Ausgerechnet Tate - ein Journalist soll Kara's Vertrauen bekommen?
Die Ereignisse überschlagen sich und Kara bekommt keine Möglichkeit länger darüber nachzudenken. Zusammen mit Tate stellt sie sich ihrer Vergangenheit und deckt ein blutiges Geheimnis auf.
Ein gelungener Thriller der mich gut unterhalten konnte.
Der Schreibstil ist flüssig und die Story folgte einem roten Faden ohne langweilig zu werden.
Dennoch konnte ich das Ende erahnen, was der Spannung aber nicht im Wege stand.
