On vacation in a luxury resort on a gorgeous Greek isle, Allegra vows to seduce her husband, to bring their marriage back to what it was before.
She wants her music and her husband back and on that magical island in the Mediterranean, she gets her wish.
And when danger strikes, Allegra learns just how much her husband loves her and how strong she can be when the shadows that haunted her are banished forever.

Lisa Marie Rice is eternally 30 years old and will never age. She is tall and willowy and beautiful. Men drop at her feet like ripe pears. She has won every major book prize in the world. She is a black belt with advanced degrees in archaeology, nuclear physics, and Tibetan literature. She is a concert pianist. Did I mention her Nobel Prize? Of course, Lisa Marie Rice is a virtual woman and exists only at the keyboard when writing erotic romance. She disappears when the monitor winks off.
A little worried about the negative reviews and jeez, $2.99 for 45 pages? But Allegra and Douglas...sigh...I'll take a chance.:)
Review:
Okay...you know what? I really liked this little short-story-reads-like-an-epilogue, which surprised me. I had low expectations going in (so maybe that helped?), and I was put off by the $2.99 price (way too high--should've been .99, tops) so I was a little disgruntled. But boy, once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. There was some heat, LMR brought you up to speed on Douglas and Allegra (in case it's been awhile since you've read Midnight Angel), and even a touch of suspense at the end. So could it have been better? Yes, I thought it ended too abruptly (what is it with LMR and her endings?), but all-in-all, just the chance to revisit my favorite LMR couple made it worth it. 4 stars
Why, oh why? This story was so disappointing! It was more like an extended epilogue for Midnight Angel than a new story per se, and nothing really happened in it. I wish I had never complained about how LMR ended the Midnight books very abruptly. That should teach me to pay attention to the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for."
3.5 stars. Enjoyed it! This is the overpriced sequel to Midnight Angel, which is a really sweet and sexy romantic suspense by Lisa Marie Rice. Beauty and the Beast. I like the full length novel more, but this novella (48 pages) is still enjoyable enough. It is set 4 months after Allegra has surgery to restore her sight. She is not blind anymore, but she sees shadows in her peripheral vision. Is it possible the shadows are not artifacts of surgery, but something far more sinister?
This story is set on a Greek island. Douglas is there on Alpha Security business, but he still manages some long-awaited pleasure with Allegra, and they even take out some bad guys. His ex-SEAL friend Yannis, whose family owns the resort, plays a major role. He may get a book of his own. I liked Yannis, with his prosthetic limb.
I always wanted to know what happened with Allegra and Douglas and this was a great wrap up to their story. It read like a really long epilogue! Loved it :)
Wonderful, short novella to wrap up the Midnight Trilogy. I love the book about Allegra and Kowalski. A true fantasy love story, except the heroine was blind, so it was a happy ending with a flaw. Allegra decided to have risky surgery to repair the damage that left her blind after the severe and brutal attack that left her blind. As a harpist, music is her life, but the music seems to have flown with the return of her eyesight. That isn't the only thing that has disappeared, her sex life has also flown too. Kowalski loves her, that isn't in any doubt, but he has been overly protective and cautious since the surgery. On this beautiful Greek island, Allegra is determined to take back both cherished areas of her life, if they live long enough.
Revisiting Allegra and Douglas was heavenly .. they are my favorite couple in the Midnight Books and honestly Douglas is just delicious but it was a little too short to be satisfying and I don't mean the number of pages .. it's just that things went down a little too quickly and then BAM the book ended .. Lisa Marie Rice seems to have a thing for ending her books faster than blinking and without letting us see the couple talk in that way that ends their story but to be fair she made me happy by publishing this short story .. so this is me just being greedy for more .. oh and Yannis !! There has to be a fourth Midnight Book featuring his story ... hopefully we'll hear something about that soon.
3.5 in the Midnight series by Lisa Marie Rice. Set in the Mediterranean, Allegra and Douglas are vacationing after her eye surgery. Douglas is reluctant to touch Allegra due to a fear of hurting her since the surgery. But Allegra isn't giving up.
Just a short novella that revisits the main couple of Midnight Angel. It read like an epilogue to me but it was nice to visit with such a wonderful couple again. I did have issues with certain things like why didn't former Navy SEAL, Douglas notice the ? And of course it got wrapped up rather quickly. But still fans of the series will want to read it.
I guess more like a 3 star but I just can't do it. $2,99 for this 45 page mediocre read is just not worth it. It was just ok and I'm a little pissed at myself for buying it. "Midnight Angel" is one of my favorite LMR books but this was not worth $2.99 should have been ,99 at most or a freebie from the author.
I am completely in love with this trilogy and when I saw there was one more book, bringing Allegra and Kowalski as characters, I freaked out. The story is short but full of adventure. And revisit the love that Kowalski has for his wife, it's beautiful.
Only a question: when will we read the others Midnight characters short stories? 5 stars
Midnight Angel is one of my favorite books, and i have always wanted to find out what would have happend next at the end ... let just say this wasnt what i had in mind lol .... kinda dissapointing really, and waste of time and basically a bit of fluff, could have been so much better...
I loved getting a peak back into Allegra and Douglas' world. But I felt like there was a buildup about some things, only to be let down in the end. I still liked it, but it wasn't as much as I was hoping for.
Unless you have read Midnight Angel (and I would recommend that you do) do not read this book as like other reviewers have mentioned it really is just an epilogue and won't make any sense. Luckily I have and therefore enjoyed catching up with Allegra and Douglas.
It's cute, I liked seeing again the heroes of Midnight Angel, but seriously it's just an epilogue that takes place four months after Allegra's surgery and in one single day.
I was over the moon finding this special novella for Douglas and Allegra.. I absolutely loved it and it totally made me want more from this epic author.
This is a small book taking from months after the third book in the series.
Book 3’s hero and heroine take sometime out after battling the heroine’s issues and the hero’s need to protect the heroine. They have been having a rough patch because the hero wants the heroine to be back to health before making love. By this point the heroine is fed up waiting.
After the hero takes some time for business, they get back to basically a honeymoon. After they make things right among them again, they fall asleep. Then awake to gunshots.
Our hero goes running off to save the day. The heroine waits for him until she can’t any longer then off she goes…
Good book which had more about the characters rather than just sex all over the place. The ending was pretty good and aspects you didn’t expect which is always pleasant.
This is a short follow up story about Allegra and Douglas, from Midnight Angel. They are now married and vacationing at a very high end Greek resort! Once again danger is on tap. If you enjoyed Midnight Angel you should be happy with this brief view into their continuing story.
Sweet little novella. It’s pretty much an epilogue to the third book of the Midnight series, I think it was called Midnight angel? Anyway, it was a decent read, but if you don’t read it, you’re not missing out on much.
Good work Allegra.!!!!! Yoh got the bitch for ogling Douglas. Perfect. Now he will really know you are better. Saving him and Yannis was the icing. You CA t keep a good woman down.
I love this couple. This was just a perfect addition and ending from their original story. I read it before and I will read it again. Lisa Marie Rice never disappoints.
