Very simple counting book. A scarecrow loses his hat in the wind. He keeps finding other people's hats, but not his. Eventually, his hat shows up and blows right into a pond. The people whose hats he found tell the scarecrow to pick one of theirs to replace his. All this is done with just one word per page.

Good for toddler or baby storytimes.

Early, early level 1. One word per page. Most fairly simple. Kiddo picked it out, so I let him read it. We'll probably try to use it for some fluency work...see how fast we can read it. We already did that with the words in the back under "Fluency Fun."

A nice starter book for children learning to read. The pictures help make it understandable since each page is only one word, but with the pictures the story is not lost well still helping new readers out.
