I felt snookered by this story's cover art. The emotion and depth of the initial image drew me toward a story that doesn't typically tickle my fancy. However, I was left disappointed with this tale due to its lack of originality despite the exceptional detail of the artwork. The poses modeled were general though the expert craftsmanship denigrated excellent texture. Also the emotion always seemed slightly askew, unlike the achingly accurate cover art.
I will say that I appreciated the insightful details of the stands of Rapunzel's hair and the rich feel of every fabric.
However, the lack of deviation from the original phrasing along with the missing depth of accurate emotion from page to page left this lackluster tale dispondent in light of the promised artistic and literary thrill of the cover.
