FRANKEN & STOKER. A series like no other. Two hardboiled detectives—one a vampire, and the other a paranormal creature not seen since the days of Frankenstein’s monster. Two buddies, living hard and fast. And occasionally taking a client. FRANKEN & STOKER—a paranormal mystery series, but also a buddy story. Action packed, and not without romance. It could be called Dirty Harry meets True Blood meets the Wedding Crashers. Or maybe not. But one thing is for sure – it’s a wild ride. And you’re invited to come along.
BOOK 1: WOLF. Franken and Stoker are at their office after a night of trying to pick up women and being shot at—a typical night for them—when a woman walks in. All leg and curves and with a killer smile, and with a killer of a problem. It seems her husband is a wolf. And he wants her dead. To make matters worse, Franken finds himself falling in love with her. But is everything with her as it seems?
Brad was born in rural New England and grew up reading Louis L'Amour, Luke Short, A.B Guthrie, Jr., and even Edgar Rice Burroughs. He knew at 14 he wanted to write for a living, and refused to give up the goal even when the odds seemed overwhelmingly against it. Now, thanks to Amazon, his stories are now available. He is a member of the Western Writers of America
Brad fell in love with the Old West at a very young age. It began with movies and old TV series like GUNSMOKE and BONANZA, and later expanded to western novels. This led to his study of western history. The pioneers, the Indians, the cattlemen, the gunfighters. His interest in history is not so much about wars and great leaders, but the people who lived on the land. And that's what he writes about. The people. He doesn't write about the old west as much as he writes about what it might have felt like to be there.
He loves contact from readers. He can be reached by email at mccabewesterns@gmail.com if you want to discuss his stories, or even just the American West in general.
Franken and Stoker are my kind of gumshoes. They attack their cases with some hidden strengths. One is a "Patchwork Man." the other is a vampire and they take on a case that involves werewolves; just another day at the office for a team that has been together for hundreds of years. The dialogue is engaging, the humor is crisp, the action is fast and the characters are unique. The monster underworld these two find themselves in rests precariously on the fringe of what we would call real life, but if it has always been there how can it not be real also. The worst part of finishing this book is not knowing if there will be a sequel -- or prequel. I very much hope so. Thank you Brad for a great yarn.
Franken & Stoker:Wolf did not disappoint, great characters and an engaging story that keeps you flipping the pages. An excellent read that left me wanting more. Can't wait for the next installment. Mr. Logan has gained a new fan in this reader.
