Matthew Kelly is a best-selling author, speaker, thought leader, entrepreneur, consultant, spiritual leader, and innovator.
He has dedicated his life to helping people and organizations become the-best-version-of-themselves. Born in Sydney, Australia, he began speaking and writing in his late teens while he was attending business school. Since that time, 5 million people have attended his seminars and presentations in more than 50 countries.
Today, Kelly is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author, and business consultant. His books have been published in more than 30 languages, have appeared on The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller lists, and have sold more than 50 million copies.
In his early-twenties he developed "the-best-version-of-yourself" concept and has been sharing it in every arena of life for more than twenty-five years. It is quoted by presidents and celebrities, athletes and their coaches, business leaders and innovators, though perhaps it is never more powerfully quoted than when a mother or father asks a child, "Will that help you become the-best-version-of-yourself?"
Kelly's personal interests include golf, music, art, literature, investing, spirituality, and spending time with his wife, Meggie, and their children Walter, Isabel, Harry, Ralph, and Simon.
I loved this book. Inspiring and hopeful for a world (each of us) yearning for inspiration and hope. I want to go back and re- read and highlight but the concept of a choice every day to bring light through the gift Jesus gives us of himself in the Eucharist was powerful. " to live a life of virtue is beyond the restlessness and chaos that agonize the human heart? There is a clear connection between a life of virtue and human flourishing. Virtue leads to better people, better relationships, better living and a better world. Every religion has the ability to live a virtuous life ( faith, hope, love, generosity, prudence, justice, temperance and fortitude) yet as Catholics and others who believe in Jesus presence in the Eucharist, we have a divine storehouse filled with every virtue in the Eucharist. I was convinced, inspired and reminded through this little book that the more time we spend with Jesus in the Eucharist, the more abundantly we can draw virtue from the storehouse. Every chapter ended with words that bring peace yet, that are hard to remember on a daily basis as we tackle life on our own-trust- surrender- believe and receive.
After completing my initial reading of Matthew Kelly's 33 Days to Eucharist Glory, I decided to repeat the journey during the Lenten Season. It was an excellent way to enhance all I had experienced during my "33 Days," and to celebrate my "rediscovered joy" of the Eucharist. The journal actually took me thru Lent, and right thru Easter Day.
Having taken notes the first time, it was interesting to see how my pad and the journal connected, and what stood out to me during my "second experience."
Dynamic Catholic does a wonderful Christmas Book Program, with a choice of two books-many parishes often participate, gifting one book at Christmas, and the second book during or at the Easter Season. I highly recommend "33 Days" to any church looking to participate. In fact, if the response is anything like what generated over HOLY MOMENTS, and BEAUTIFUL EUCHARIST, changed hearts for Christ is GUARANTEED!!!!
Beautiful read or better yet meditation or meditations. I am not a fan of his quoting Thoreau however. The overall of the book is what is important an most beautiful and intimate Closeness to The Presence Of God. very accessible as well.
