After Brian begins to wear his T-Rex t-shirt, mosquitoes stop biting him. He falls off his bike and can't find a single scrape. Gradually, as Brian learns about his t-shirt and the world of magic clothing, he achieves his dream of becoming a protector. And the boy that he has been chosen to protect is a nice boy named Levi who has found some magic pants. Children will have a great deal of fun with this book as it brings them deeper into Levi's world and lets them see Levi's story begin from the perspective of Brian, his good-hearted protector. The readers will also learn a little more about the mysterious and fiery Sally. This book is written at the "my first chapter book" level and is comparable in difficulty to the "Magic Tree House" books or the Thornton W. Burgess forest adventure books.
This is the first book my 9 year old son willingly read to me. So naturally I got the others in the series. It's not a story that will hold up to an in depth review by older siblings, so kick them out and snuggle up. Once you find that one book that gets a kid interested in reading, you've struck gold.
