Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R, Caffrey was such a thrilling read, I couldn't put this book down! I love the characters and how feisty they are, especially our main female character, Evelyn, who finds herself in a messy situation when she is mistaken for someone else while traveling abroad. Patrick happens to be at the airport looking to prevent Megan from going on the run, when he accidentally grabs Evelyn instead, who happens to look similar to Megan. All this mess happens because Megan, who was in a hurry to get onto the airplane, bumped into Evelyn and accidentally grabbed the wrong travel bag. Due to this accident, Evelyn was left holding Megan's bag, which puts her in a very dangerous situation. Throughout this book we see Evelyn forced to step out of her comfort zone, and continually have to fight for her life, and the lives of her new friends. This story is so realistic, it will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what may be waiting right around the corner! There is a budding romance throughout the story, that is beautifully intertwined with the thrills of mystery and danger. What a wonderful touch to have a slow to develop romance that stayed in the bounds of old-fashioned courtship, showing that there are good men still out there who respect women's morals.

While trying to navigate where to go next at the airport and accidental bump into a stranger leads Evelyn down a road of danger and mystery, especially when her bag is mixed up by this unknown stranger. Patrick Mlller is a private investigator on the hunt to protect someone whom is crucial to bringing down a big crime boss....and protecting Evelyn was a first priority..but strangely by accident at first, thinking this was his witness. Happy Book Birthday to Mistaken Identity! I had the privilege of getting an early copy from the author and now I get to be the first to leave a review!

Mistaken Identity is fast-paced and action-packed! It truly is a suspense novel as much as it is a romance novel. It was hard to put down and there was never a dull moment. I loved Patrick and Evelyn’s relationship, and that they both had flaws but were still two people I could root for. This is a very impressive debut and I cannot wait for book 2!

I absolutely love mysteries and romance and if you do too, you’ll love this selection! Grad student, Evelyn, is embarking on her first overseas trip to Greece for study abroad. She is nervous and excited about this new experience. During the airport in London to catch her connecting flight, some coincidences occur and she happens to stumble into the arms of Patrick. He is a London native and on his first substantial mission as a private investigator looking for a female who looks very similar to Evelyn. After being mistaken for this other female, they end up in each other’s company and now Patrick’s job is to protect Evelyn while catching the Fitzgeralds, a local mafia type family. Now Evelyn is not only at a loss of what will happen next but she becomes under the protection of a very attractive PI. Patrick is very driven on cracking down on this crime driven Fitzgeralds but is distracted when Evelyn comes into the picture. This book is book one in the series and I am definitely looking forward to the other ones in this series!

Mistaken Identity immediately sucks you in. The author wrote a story where the action starts immediately. Leaving the mystery of who’s who at the forefront.
A run in at the airport leaves Evelyn in the middle of a mistaken identity situation. The problem is it’s a very dangerous situation. Instead of being on a plane to Greece she’s now stuck with annoyingly frustrated PI Patrick who is trying to keep her safe.
Patrick is frustrated with the entire situation. However he can’t keep his eyes off Evelyn. He’s attracted to her but he can’t let that cloud his judgment from keeping her safe. The Fitzgerald’s are after her and they want blood.
Can Patrick keep her safe?
Will Evelyn ever get to her dig site in Greece?
Can father and son work together to bring The Firm(Fitzgeralds) down?
So many questions and with the fast pace of the story sometimes you may miss an answer. So take your time! enjoy the story! Me, I need to go back and read it again!

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in a new series which had me hooked throughout. Evelyn Stevenson is a graduate student, who is excited to be leaving home for the first time to travel abroad to study. However, her adventure of a lifetime does not go to plan having had a mix up at the airport during her London layover. This mix up puts her on the radar of a dangerous and notorious crime boss, luckily she has also come to the notice of a very handsome, but burly private investigator Patrick Miller. Evelyn must now rely on him to protect her. Meanwhile, Patrick is on his own mission for revenge, so he’s not very happy when he has to protect Evelyn. Although the couple are both in danger the longer they are together they start to develop feelings for one another, but they need to focus on surviving. This romantic suspense kept me happily turning the pages. The exciting storyline and fast paced plot kept me gripped whilst I felt engaged with the likeable and relatable characters. The chemistry between Evelyn and Patrick came across in the narrative and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. I look forward to to book two!

A luggage mishap at the airport leads to a situation that Evelyn never could have seen coming when she decided to study abroad. By grabbing the wrong suitcase, she is mistaken by a Private Investigator as the person he is looking for. However, when the bad guys come after Evelyn, Patrick is the one to step in and protect her. Add some romance in with the continuous action...and you've got a story you won't be able to put down until the end.

This was a quick read...mostly because I didn't want to put it down. It hooked me in from the beginning and I was along for the ride! I enjoyed the twist and turns that the story took...and the budding romance between Patrick and Evelyn. Overall, a good story. I look forward to more in the series!

Okay, I devoured this book in a day. And I am normally a slow reader. I was hooked the entire time. Love all of the suspense and twists in the story as well as the romance. No spice, good banter between the characters, forced proximity trope.
Evie gets mistaken for another woman who a gang is after, but a British P.I saves her from a couple of the goons that try to grab her at the airport. They have to go through a lot to get the targets off their backs so Evie can go home. But they end up slowly falling for each other and saving each other many times, and Evie ends up not wanting to go home, and becomes very involved in the case. It was a great read and I can't wait to read more from this author

I really enjoyed this book. I wish we would’ve known more about what all the Fitzgeralds did, maybe because I’m a nosy person, but we do get to see this guy be a villain for sure. That characters are great, the first interaction between Patrick and Evie is hilarious and I did feel a little something between them; this book does have a slow burn with their relationship which I enjoyed since they were able to focus on the case instead of just themselves. I fell in love with James instantly, funny best friends are the best. (I seen that book two stars him so I’m definitely going to need to read it). Overall I felt the story was original and I like that I wasn’t able to predict what was going to happen next.

Such a great read! I love it from the very beginning of an everyday American girl out of the country for the first time when she ends up in the most unexpected situation. She's mistaken for another girl when bags are switched and her life ends up in a whirlwind! Ends up meeting a very handsom private investigator, Patrick and his colleague, James. Now in the midst of crime family, how will they stop these criminals and will Evelyn be able to go back to her everyday life?

This was such a thrilling read that was action packed right from the start. The twists and turns in this story kept me hooked and the chemistry between out two main characters is recognisable from the beginning and sizzles throughout the book. This is also the first book in the London Detective Agency Series so I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us.

Evelyn was all set to embark on her new life and adventure but a accidental collision with another person and picking up the wrong bag has changed her plans and added a whole level of danger to her life.
The problem is the woman she collided with and that she looks almost identical to is a lady on the run. As a witness for PI Patrick Miller against a crime family she decides to flee.
However in doing so she has now placed Evelyn in harms way.
When Patrick catches up to her the chemistry and attraction between them is instant but he knows has to protect her from the family who are looking to get rid of the witness against them.
Together then now need to work together to bring this family to justice while making sure the Fitzgerald crime family don't get to Evelyn.

This story is action packed and fast paced. I enjoyed how the romance between Patrick and Evelyn was slow burning in the background of this story which only made it better.
The characters are both well written and likeable. Both are strong in their own way and I loved how Patrick was focused on getting justices, you get the feeling that even if there wasn't chemistry between him and Evelyn he would still protect her with everything he had.
I am really looking forward to reading more.

Evelyn is a woman on an exhilarating trip. In a layover in London while headed to Greece, she accidentally has a switched bag issue with a woman named Megan, who in a rush ran into Evelyn and grabbed the wrong bag in her haste. Evelyn also happens to look similar to Megan, which proves to be a problem.

Patrick is a private investigator who happens to be at the airport looking for Megan and trying to prevent her from fleeing, as she is his main witness in a case he is investigating. This is where Evelyn's likeness to Megan causes the issue, especially when it is discovered that she now is carrying Megan's bag that she misplaced while in a hurry to disappear. Megan happens to be on the run from the Fitzgerald crime family, whom Patrick is investigating for a multitude of broken laws and striving for justice.

The action starts immediately and pulls you in. Patrick and Evelyn's first meeting was a fun read and their chemistry is immediately noticeable. I really appreciated that the slow burn in the background added a little tension, but it didn't take away from the excellent story telling. Evelyn is a strong and capable female protagonist that shows her bravery in uncertain circumstances. Patrick is a man driven by justice, but can't deny his interest in Evelyn. Regardless of their chemistry together, Patrick is the type of man who would have protected her with or without it. Anticipating the next one!

Mistaken Identity is the First Book in the London Detective Agency Series. It is a romantic suspense full of action, danger, mystery, drama, intrigue, angst, secrets, betrayal, revenge, greed, and corruption. The story starts off with a bang as the MC Evelyn is getting ready to travel abroad and start a new chapter in her life as a graduate student. She gets more of an adventure than she anticipated when she is bumped into by a woman named Megan who happens to look just like Evelyn. In the confusion Evelyn and Megan ended up with one another’s bags and Evelyn panics because her bag contains all her important research papers. When Evelyn heads to lost and found to drop off the mystery bag she is quickly abducted by a strange man who mistakes her as the mystery girl Evelyn had bumped into earlier. The strange man turns out to be a PI who is trying to protect Megan from a crime family. Before long Evelyn finds herself wrapped up in a mystery that involves trying to take down a notorious crime boss. The stakes are high, and danger lurks around every corner for Evelyn, Patrick, and their friends. Evelyn is strong, feisty, determined, and tough as nails in the face of danger. As Patrick and Evelyn fight crime together a slow burning romance starts to blossom between them. Looking forward to Book Two in this series.

Mistaken Identity is the first book in the London Detective Agency series. I was drawn to it by the London setting, as I was feeling nostalgic, and was instantly engaged by the intriguing story! This is a great read if you’re looking for an action-packed romance that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I found the characters easy to engage with, and there’s plenty of interpersonal drama going on as they try to adapt to the unideal circumstances they’ve found themselves in. Evelyn’s research sounds so interesting - I’ll have to read up on that topic myself as I want to learn more! I like how the friction between her and Patrick demonstrates how much they have in common, and James’ down-to-earth temperament balances things out.

I will say that if you’re travelling by plane this is maybe not an ideal holiday read (didn’t stop me though, just meant I was a bit more anxious than usual at the airport!). But it’s great, I couldn’t put it down and may have missed a bus or two because I was so distracted reading it!

This book gets five stars from me! I can’t wait for the next instalment of the series!

Mistaken Identity By: Stephanie R. Caffrey
4 Star Review
Mistaken Identity was action packed from the start and never a dull moment. Stephanie R. Caffrey kept me captivated throughout the whole book.

Evie aka Evelyn found herself in a situation at the airport that kept her from her next destination to Greece. When she bumped into someone accidently and they switched identical bags she was on a race to get hers back. While running to track down her bag Evie ran into Patrick Miller P.I who mistook her for the girl he was looking for that was running from a Crime Family. Both eventually work together with the help of James, Patrick’s roommate and Business partner so that Evie can go home. There was some betrayal throughout the book with people Patrick thought they could trust.
Again, Action packed with a romance that had them back and forth with a uncertainty that had me rooting for the both of them to win in this whole situation. Loved how the story was written and the characters were introduced and brought together. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Mistaken Identity by Stephanie Caffrey is available now in eBook and Physical Book
⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐ Book Review

Mistaken Identity is a suspenseful romance that packs a great punch. This was my first time reading a novel written by Caffrey and it grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I had to read this novel from start to finish without putting it down. The mystery portion will keep you on your toes while you attempt to crack the case. The romance was just the right level, not too mushy, but adorable. The characters are charming and down to earth, but not too predictable. The story line was well put together, flowed at great speed, and believable. I highly recommend this novel to any reader who enjoys a good mystery with a light hint of romance on the side. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I'm hooked! Evelyn is traveling abroad for part of her Thesis program for Graduate School. She finds herself in the airport in London trying to make her connecting flight.

In the midst of trying to navigate the airport she bumps into someone and inadvertently grabs the wrong bag, as does the person that bumps into her. This starts a series of events that will change her life.

Patrick, a handsome PI, "saves" her... not at first but he does end up getting her out of harms way and into the thick of it all. Truly thinking he had the person he was seeking he leaves the airport with Evelyn in tow and the unknown persons bag.

That's where it starts to unfold. What a ride it becomes! I love the dynamic between Evelyn, Patrick and James throughout this whole story.

This was an absolutely phenomenal first book in the London Detective Agency series! The real world did not exist to me once I opened this book, and I didn’t return until I finished the last page. Typically, when I pick up romantic suspense books, they lean heavily on either the romance or suspense. This book somehow balanced both equally, and I loved it! Evelyn is traveling and her bag gets accidentally swapped by another lady named Megan. Patrick is a PI focusing intently on finding Megan…who looks an awful lot like Evelyn. The chemistry between Patrick and Evelyn is palpable and getting to see them react to each other was wonderful. The tension will keep you captivated throughout the entire story. I highly recommend picking this up if you are looking for a fast-paced, intriguing suspense-filled read!

Mistaken Identity is the first intriguing book in the London Detective Agency series and debut novel by Stephanie R. Caffrey. It is a romantic suspense with tension, mystery, danger, investigation, crime boss - graduate student - PI dynamic, chemistry, angst, emotion, secrets, and dramatic developments.
What should have been the opportunity of a lifetime for graduate student Evelyn Stevenson turns sour quite quickly- propelling her into a situation she could never have imagined. With the help of a PI, Evelyn must navigate this new situation, hopefully before it’s too late.
Looking forward to seeing what Book #2 has in store for us.
Happy Reading

Mistaken Identity is the first book in the London Detective Agency series by Stephanie R. Caffrey and what a great start to a series. When grad student Evelyn accidentally swaps bags with a stranger in an airport, she doesn’t expect her life to be in danger. Patrick is a private investigator who is on route to meet the stranger and mistakes Evelyn for her as she has the wrong bag. When the bad guys try to take Evelyn, Patrick steps in and saves the day. Although, the two certainly do not get on. As the story progresses the two get closer but danger is always round the corner. I really liked this book, it had good character development and a fast paced exciting story. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This book is the perfect mix of suspense, intrigue, and romance. Caffrey kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and kept me turning pages well into the night. If you are looking for forced proximity, witty banter, suspense, action, and an ultimate HEA then this is the book for you. The character development of our FMC Evelyn and our MMC Patrick both independently and together is phenomenal. And I also love that James, the cheeky wingman for Patrick, is really such a huge part of this book but it doesn't come off creepy or forced. The plot line flows so well and there are some really great twists and turns that had me gasping as I read. It really is just an all-around great book. I cannot wait to see what Caffrey has in store for her readers next.

On her way to Greece, Evelyn runs into a woman who looks a lot like her - down to the bag she carries. Unfortunately, before either can think too much about the coincidental meeting, their dropped bags are collected and they part ways - but it's not long before Evelyn realizes she's just taken possession of the wrong bag. In a rush, Evelyn decides to take the bag to the airport lost and found on her way to her terminal, hoping her own bag can be retrieved and sent to her while she travels. This is when Evelyn is practically abducted and comes face-to-face with a private investigator - who seems to be searching for her doppelganger. And this is where the adventure begins. Full of fast-paced, well-written mystery and chemistry, this book is a must-read that will leave you wanting more!

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)

I did something I didn't think was possible, I read this book in one day and it was a holiday on top of that. But once I got started reading I had a very hard time putting it down.

One minute Evelyn is running through the airport with her biggest concern being making her connecting flight out of London. Running into a total stranger changes everything and thankfully it's not all negative.

Evelyn and Patrick are like oil and water. Then they were so much more. Throw in running from dangerous people only adds to the danger and intrigue of their situation.

I will be keeping up with this series and hopefully will enjoy the next book as much as I enjoyed this one.

Evelyn has managed to get herself through college. Now on layover in London, her whole life is about to change. All it took was someone to bump into her. Now on the run from the Fitzgerald's Crime Family. Patrick is a private investigator whose job was to get Megan to safety before she gets away. Unfortunately Evelyn and Megan not only look alike, they carry the same backpack. No Spoilers Here! I found this series to have started out on the very first page. This author has a way of drawing her readers in and keeping them engaged. The story is fast paced and extremely intense. The characters fill their positions and draw you into their lives. The author has started a very exciting series and I look forward to reading the next in this series.

So many bags travel with their respective owners and many of us have the same one. Many put something special to differentiate their luggage from another and some don't. That's what happens to Evelyn on her first trip overseas. She grabs what she thinks is her bag but it actually belongs to another girl who happens to looks a lot like her. Now she has a major crime boss after her. PI Patrick Miller is the only guy that can possibly keep her safe. This story has many twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I am very much looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book.
