Gideon’s Redemption starts with a Big Misunderstanding that keeps the lead couple apart for 10 years. I struggled with this, honestly. The protagonists have been dating for some time, and our heroine Shannon knows everyone in Gideon’s band and his rockstar lifestyle. So when she thinks he’s cheating on her, I found it odd that she wouldn’t talk to him at all afterwards or that she wouldn’t discuss it with some of his friends, particularly the wife of another member of his band (who you think would understand the lifestyle). And that she didn’t have direct means to contact him later seemed even odder. There are misunderstandings on misunderstandings here, and you either run with them or they bother you. For me, they were more of a bother.
That said, once Gideon and Shannon get back together, the story proceeds smoothly. She is a mass of insecurity about him due to their Big Mis, and he has his work cut out to convince her of her value to him. The domestic discipline lifestyle Gideon proposes to Shannon goes a long way to help her expiate her guilt over the past. There’s also a secret baby (and all of this is shared in the first couple of chapters), which is a major life shift for Gideon as well.
Things go a bit too smoothly in some ways. Gideon is a veritable saint and rich to boot, so he’s able to make things work easily. There’s a truly rotten villain and a nice suspense twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting and appreciated. There are some logic gaps in Gideon’s Redemption; for a couple trying to hide their relationship—particularly due to his wealth and fame—letting their son go to a public school and share their status with everyone seemed both unsafe and foolhardy.
So this is a fun read and a nice example of a domestic discipline romance. But you’re either going to buy the big misunderstanding premise or you’re not.

So, Gideon and Shannon used to be a couple. They were madly in love. He was a budding rock star and she was a college student. Things were going really well until she went to a wrap party and his manager pointed her towards a bedroom where she saw Gideon in bed with twin blonds. She walked away, and things got bad.
Ten years later, a chance meeting has them reuniting and finding out everything that has happened over the past 10 years.
When it comes to Gideon's and Shannon's split, neither one of them is the bad guy in the situation. What happened really was out of their control, and was a series of events that happened in the precise right way to make them split. They were both hurt, and they both spend those 10 years loving the other, even through that hurt.
I do like both of them. Shannon has a spine of steel. She has had to work really hard to do what she needed to do. It kinda sucked, but it was also good. I do think that she really deserves all the good things ever. I think that Gideon is a good man. Like I said, neither of them are the bad guy in the split, and he really forgave Shannon before they even got back together, I think.

I thought this was a good read. Gideon and the Shannon provide some serious feels as their steamy and emotional romance is told. I found it very easy to truly feel for these two. The story itself kept me entertained and engaged with drama, tension, turmoil, emotion, heat, heart and domestic discipline. This is my volitional, forthright review.

Techincally I stopped reading this book at 70% but it was an alright love story based on how misunderstandings, lack of trust, and how devious individuals can not get in the way of true love.
It was a not bad read, but I just could not see myself sitting for another hour or so down trying to figure out what I already knew what was going to happen. It was pretty predictable already.
So... A good first try for me to be introduced into the world of Maddie Taylor but it fell into the okay/I already know what's going to happen/DNF category.

As always, Maddie delivers. I really enjoyed this heartwarming gentle story which spans a decade. Gideon Eli is lead guitarist of a rock band, Northern Exposure, which is beginning to make the big time. On the road touring constantly to build their reputation and fan base, inevitably there is always the usual mix of drugs and booze and groupies, put bluntly temptation to be wild and stray, but Gideon has a steady girlfriend Shannon Hughes who is a student training to be an elementary school teacher. Our story begins at a wrap party after a particularly gruelling tour. Shannon arrives to meet Gideon but there is a crazy drug and booze soaked orgy going on. The band’s manager Ray, a particularly slimy unpleasant individual, directs Shannon to find Gideon totally naked except for the hand made boots Shannon got him for Christmas, doing the nasty with two blond bimbo groupies. Shannon is completely shattered by what she sees and, blinded by tears and feeling sick to her stomach beats a hasty retreat. Over the next days and weeks Gideon tries repeatedly to contact Shannon by phone and text but she appears to have dropped off the planet and cannot, or will not, be found. The next time we meet Shannon she has come to Ray’s office to ask him to arrange a meeting with Gideon. Shannon is pregnant and she admonishes Ray not to tell Gideon but simply to arrange the meeting so she can try to have a reconciliation and give him the chance to step up. Inevitably Ray gives her a note purporting to be from Gideon and although it is not in his hand, it is signed by him. It tells her to move on, along with the note is a cheque. Heartbroken Shannon leaves the office knowing that she and her baby have been rejected and apparently paid to go away. We pick up the story ten years later. Shannon is a hard working cocktail waitress doing a late shift serving a table of VIPs one of whom is Gideon. Will Gideon recognise and pursue Shannon? will Shannon even talk to him and give him a chance to explain himself? What will Gideon do when he discovers he has a nine year old son he has never seen? All will be revealed. This is a gentle story which has all the elements of an erotic romance, with hot steamy scenes, eye watering DD spanking punishments, great chemistry between the main protagonists a really twisted and hateful bad guy, a great kid and eventually a HEA. Read on and enjoy it was a very entertaining read.

This is a republish of a book that I missed the first time around. Since then I've read a few books from this author and have come to really like her style. I didn't mind this story, although it definitely had its weak points for me. The initial breakdown of the relationship between Gideon and Shannan and the reconnection between them was handled well and I really enjoyed it.
However, the recommencement of their relationship right back into how it was years before was just a bit too easy for me. Even with the misunderstandings out of the way, people change in 10 years.
I liked the addition of the drama that came towards the end but it was never really explained for me. We know what happened, but not really why, apart from the obvious greed and money.
I did enjoy this story but can agree that my interest did start to waver about half way through, so I was glad for the added drama. The addition of kink/BDSM was really low level and would be good for readers new to the genre.

This is one of Maddie Taylors books that i havnt read. And let me tell you that its really worth while reading and i totally loved it. If you have read any of this authors books before hand you will know that her books are on the erotic side, with a touch of action.
In this wonderful story we have Gideon and his band who are up and coming rock stars. Gideon has a girlfriend her name is Shannon, together these two are great together, but along the way one night she sees a body in bed with two groupies and presumes its Gideon. Fleeing she decides its all over but a few months later she finds she is pregnant, only to be given a check signed by Gideon himself.
And without anymore spoilers, i just want to say that the rest of this book is sooo sooo good to read. A beautiful romance, a second chance for a father to get to know his child and once again reunite with his Love.

Fantastic Second-Chance Romance with lots of spice!
This was a fantastic second-chance romance with lots of very spicy moments, some suspense, some action and all kinds of steam! I was enthralled from start to finish and read it in one sitting.
Shannon and Gideon’s love story was emotional, very funny and super sexy. These two were destined to be together, it just took them a lot longer to get there with a few setbacks along the way.
Together Shannon and Gideon were adorable, sweet, passionate and had so much love to give each other. Like Shannon says:
“The man should carry a warning label. Caution: Highly Combustible. May cause Spontaneous Wetness.”
Because he sure caused a lot of spontaneous wetness while reading this story!!

I loved this story! I couldn't put it down. I love reading second chance stories. I loved the interactions between Gideon and Shannon. Gideon and Shannon were a couple before she caught him backstage at one of his concerts in a compromising situations. He was in a popular band. She breaks off their relationship without talking with Gideon. She also kept a secret from him after another misunderstanding. They meet again when she working. They are both surprised to see each other again. Gideon is not going to let her get away from him again. They must work through past hurts first and her secret comes to light. Will they be able to work through their past and come out stronger together?

Omg! This is a fantastic second chance romance! With all the action, drama, love, passion, lies and secrets you have an amazing story! I loved Shannon and Gideon’s story! They still love each other after 9 years apart. When Gideon finds out he has a son he’s all in. He was going to make a life with Shannon and Eli. They made a great family. Eli was adorable! When danger comes for Shannon, will Gideon be able to serve her? Gideon’s Redemption is a fantastic love story! I look forward to reading more of Maddie’s books!

I really enjoyed this book, the reunion did not take up most of the book as so many second chance stories do. There was hot sex, domestic discipline and a cute little nine year old. Eli was delightful and added humour and acted as a catalyst for Shannon and Gideon. Their relationship was magical and in spite of 10 years intervening they were able, with the help of a little spanking, to let go of the past and become the real family they had both wanted for so long. There is a wrinkle but good won over evil and the ending was lovely.

More like a 3.5 but I bumped it up to a 4 because it was a really cute sweet story, but it was too easy. Even with the darker points to the story, it was too lighthearted. I never felt the tension or angst that I would expect with this storyline. Plus, let me be honest, I am pretty over the BDSM storylines and this was definitely BDSM light and I am not entirely sure why it was included at all.

Shannon is heartbroken when she finds Gideon cheating on her, so devastated, she completely cuts him off. But when she needs him again she does reach out, only to devastated once again. Of course they get together and of course there is a HEA, and they way they get there is deliciously hot and sexy 🔥❤️🔥

This was an amazing read. Gideon and Shannon’s story will pull at your heartstrings. This rockstar second chance romance has it all. After 10 years apart their is still love between them and finding out he has a son he wants it all. A family with Shannon and Eli. But when Shannon is in danger can Gideon get to her in time? Will they get their HEA? I absolutely loved this story. Can’t wait for more from this author

Very good if a tad rushed
The plot of this story is very engaging and fun though a little rushed. The H/h were nicely rounded and well developed and there were interesting secondary characters. The sex was nice and steamy with out completely taking over the book. All in all a lot of fun.

A story about second chances. Shannon and Gideon reunite after breaking up 9 years before. It was en enjoyable read with likeable characters but I would have liked a bit more drama/trouble between the characters while getting back together and getting to know each other. Everything went too smoothly when they got back together.

Decent story with decent characters. A light touch of BDSM focused on spanking. Honestly, it was good. I just got bored. There wasn't much drama until the end. It was just a second chance at love because of a horrible misdirection and a mean man. She was also to weak minded for me.

I was not surprised by the sliminess of Gideon's manager! Come on, Gideon needs to have that bad boy reputation! That sells records right!

A well written story with a HEA thank goodness. Maddie's storytelling draws you in with ease. Locations, background sounds and sights, situations our couple are in, and great kinky sex are so wonderfully described. Some scenes are intense and might bother tender hearts but maybe you can skin over those so you don't miss a great book.

This author always makes me fall in love with her characters. She makes them realistic and relatable, even in a rock star type of environment. This second-chance romance has all the feels and plenty of sizzle with a nice dose of domestic discipline thrown in for seasoning. And as always once I turn the last page, I want to start all over again. Very enjoyable read.

An enjoyable read with a second chance to have what was cast aside. A twisted manager interferes twice between his lead rockstar Gideon and the girlfriend Shannon. Ten years go by and they meet by chance which is when he gets his answers and she realises just how much she has been played.

A second chance that proves to be less than perfect but impossible to resist. Shannon and Gideon are a wicked temptation that plays with the heart while serenading the senses. Gideon's Redemption is a firecracker that never quite loses it's spark.

An enjoyable second chance story. Shannon and Gideon had been together years ago, until he tossed her aside. Now after almost a decade apart they see each other again and Gideon isn’t going to let Shannon go again. A good read with likable characters, a bit of drama, light kink, and steam.

Gideon's Redemption by Maddie Taylor was previously released. It was given a new shine. Expanded and updated. It still remains one of my fave rock star books, and who doesn't love a second chances at romance. Kudos!!

it was an okay book. nothing exciting or remarkable. interesting twist in the beginning of someone keeping them apart then it got stale for me.
