A woman's vocation is to love—indeed, this feminine gift is essential to the health and strength of civilization. Yet women cannot love freely unless they can move past the personal wounds that are inevitable in a fallen world. Once women see the grace and freedom inherent in forgiveness, their natural response to injury will give way to the transforming power of God's grace. In these compelling stories of forgiveness, from the trivial (forgiving a friend who forgets and appointment) to the traumatic (forgiving childhood physical and sexual abuse), Genevieve weaves biblical truths and real-life stories together in a way that reveals the heart of the freedom that comes from letting go and forgiving. "So how do we make the leap from the messy shortcomings of everyday life to the paradise Jesus offers? The same way that he did—through forgiveness. Trust me, trust those who share their stories of forgiveness in this book, and trust God himself, whose unfathomable love for us is magnified in his divine mercy. This is advice you can rely upon. Truly!" (from the Introduction)."Set Free reminds us that the vocation of women is not necessarily hindered by the crosses of life—whether betrayal, abuse, neglect, or a host of other injuries—but that even there can be found the seeds of healing and hope" (from the Foreword by Rev. Christopher M. Mahar). Genevieve Kineke is the author of The Authentic Catholic Woman and the founding editor of Canticle Magazine. A featured speaker at numerous women's conferences across the country, she also conducts retreats and workshops on authentic Catholic womanhood. For more information, go to feminine-genius.com.
I definitely recommend this book!!! The author dives into the importance of forgiveness and how essential it is for our souls, health, and relationships with others. A must read for anyone who struggles with forgiving others or blames God for the circumstance/situation.
