Including gritting my teeth and pretending to go out with his annoying best friend, Luke Drake. Luke’s my legitimate, all-access pass to sticking close to my brother without coming off as too nosy, clingy, or interfering.
He makes me crazy, but when it comes to Cal, I have no greater ally. You know what they The enemy of my enemy is my (boy)friend.

Luke
I met Cal Adams in third grade, and we were instantly inseparable. But somehow, after surviving playground scraps together, voice changes, and the minefield that’s my home life; he became my brother. I’d die for the guy.
Worse yet, I’d date his sister.
Harper is the most maddening girl you’ll ever meet. She might look like an angel but don’t be fooled—she’s not one to back down from a fight.
Cal can’t see his new crush is bad news. And while Harper and I can’t spend five minutes together without wanting to kill each other, she loves Cal fiercely. I need that fire right now…even if I’m the one who ends up getting burned.

(5+ stars) - One of the most enjoyable YA books I've read in ages!

This is a slightly different fake relationship romance - the way Harper & Luke end up together is closer to accidental than intentional - but it succeeds in playing out so believably that I never once stopped to question any of it (trust me, that's rare, lol).

It's also highly entertaining (Harper's alternative curse words are pretty funny & the exchanges between them frequently cracked me up) - as well as occasionally poignant with a mix of heartbreaking & heart-warming moments to thoroughly engage those heartstrings.

It was so engaging that it immediately hooked me in & kept me reading straight thru to the delightful end.

My one gripe (though not enough to make me want to subtract anything) is that the epilogue is misnamed & not an epilogue at all, but a sneak peek at the next book. I REALLY would have liked to read a little about where Luke & Harper ended up after graduating high school.

I will definitely be following this author from here!

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic

I read this book in an hour. Super easy read! It’s a cute rom com, but truly I felt like the plot was lacking.

This was so cute and kinda refreshing that they didn't have a fight at 90 percent and that they didn't completely hate each other 👏👏👏 great job Randi Rigby 👏👏👏

Spoilers

I liked Luke and Harper but their relationship went from 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye. They were in a fake relationship but wasn't surprised he would do something special for her for prom. Neither was shocked when they kissed and without even discussing it they were in a relationship. He said he loved her and no surprise. As for Cal, I had absolutely no idea why he liked Jasmine. They kept saying how nice he was, but he was really the idiot he said he was. When someone tells you your girl is flirting with other guys including them. You don't say you trust her and your friend. You dump them. In the end I really didn't care about Cal. There was also so much going on in such a short story that it felt to fast. The pageant felt completely unnecessary and adding more of the other stuff going on like what was going on with Luke would have been better.

This book was awesome! I loved Luke. I loved Harper. She was a bit crazy, but that's one of the things that made me like her. Luke was really sweet and totally hot. Harper and Luke were perfect for each other. So cute together. Their love for each other was apparent and shone through. Though it took them a while to understand their feelings. I'm glad there was no big drama for the couple. And I seriously loved the twins connection. Harper and Cal had a really cute relationship. They were the cutest twins. And I also liked that Cal was not opposed to his best friend dating his sister. He was actually ok with it, as long as SHE didn't hurt Luke (that was crazy but yes, Cal was actually worried his sister would hurt his best friend and not the way around). Harper loved fiercely and has a big heart. She's an amazing sister to Cal and a good and sweet (though somewhat crazy) friend (and then girlfriend) to Luke.
I would have liked a more thorough ending though, maybe a little look in their future.

I really liked My Brother’s Best Friend by Randi Rigby! 💕 What stood out to me the most was how the author described the main character’s feelings—it was so real and totally relatable 🥹💬💗. You could feel the emotions through the pages, and that made it super easy to connect with the story 📖❤️.

The spark ⚡ between the characters and the whole fake dating setup 💍😅 was kinda simple, but in a really sweet and comforting way 🥰🌸. It wasn’t over-the-top, and that actually made it really fun to read ☀️💞. I love a good fake dating trope, and this one gave all the soft, feel-good vibes 🎬💘.

The only thing that threw me off a bit was Harper 🤷‍♂️… she kinda felt like randi rigby couldn’t make up his mind about the main girl’s personality 😐➡️🥰➡️😕. He was into her, then confused, then back again—and that made his character feel a little inconsistent 🤔💭.

But overall, I really liked the book! 💕📚 It was an easy, sweet romance with emotional writing ✍️💫 and that classic best-friend’s-brother drama we all secretly live for 😍🙈🔥.

Finally! There's a billion fake romance books out there. And in every single one I've read, the pair falls in love while faking it but then there's always a MASSIVE misunderstanding that causes the end of the arrangement that leaves both parties heartbroken. Until they get together anyway.

Well, that's not the case here. Sure, it started as a pretend relationship for a purpose. But there was no giant misunderstanding that served as a convenient conflict for the plot. Harper and Luke's feelings developed organically. As they progressed, both were smart enough to recognize their feelings. And instead of being in denial and making wrong assumptions, they naturally expressed their growing affection until they openly declared their feelings for each other.

It was so freaking sweet and so realistic. It's exactly how two young and kind people would handle things.

Highly recommended! I only wish there were more faux romance books with this dynamic.

This was a cute YA romance. Harper and Luke were such great characters. While she was impulsive he was the rational thinker. She openly expressed her emotions while he hid his feelings. They both had stunning qualities. Both were loyal to a fault, they cared deeply and would sacrifice anything for the ones they loved.

They both had a fun relationship before they became an “item” but when feelings started to grow and their attraction became potent, their relationship was straight up adorable. There were so many cutesy moments I couldn’t help but smile.

Although some serious issues were raised in this story (abandonment, toxic relationships) I felt that they were realistically and satisfactorily dealt with, while still keeping the story light. Funny and romantic with lots of laugh out loud moments. Such an enjoyable read.

This wonderful coming of age story revolves around sweet high school senior Harper Adams, who has been half in love with her twin brother's best friend Luke Drake for years. In the process of navigating a typical teen girls everyday challenges, Harper is going to learn a lot of life lessons, many the hard way, by the time she graduates.

Meanwhile Luke is dealing with his own problems involving family issues he doesn't want anyone to know about, along with the fear of never being good enough for someone as incredible as Harper.

Sweet, entertaining, and at times hilariously funny, this author had me laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next.

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

ALL THE FEELS! GAH!

It was really easy for me to fall in serious like with prickly Harper pretty much from the get-go. I love how close her family is, and I especially appreciate how protective she is towards her brother.
Luke was a bit harder to warm up to, but once he had managed to sneak into my heart... jam donuts, was I rooting for him!

It was such a lovely, funny, heart-breaking story, I can't wait to read more by this new-to-me author!

I enjoyed this sweet story and found myself laughing out loud at witty banter, comebacks and alternate curses.
Sometimes in an effort to help your twin avoid disaster you find a happiness you never imagined. The line between love and hate can be very thin and often mistaken for the other. Harper and Luke are adorable. They offer heat, poorly restrained loathing, and passion all rolled into a swirling tornado common amongst teens. This YA book is an entertaining and quick read.

This was a good one!

I love Harper and Luke! Especially Harper. She's such a spitfire but SO COOL. There were some deep issues that were touched on yet not deeply dealt with, but that's okay - it was handled fairly well overall. And I love Dr and Mrs Adams. Those parents are rockstars. It's great finally having a functioning family at the forefront. I think this is my favourite book of the series so far.

This is a really nice story! Characters are very well constructed (Jasmine, boooo 👎🏼) and the plot is well structured.

It’s nice for a “Brother’s Best Friend’s Book” to have a brother that supports the relationship for a change and that characters discover their mutual likeness during the text.

Are we getting Cal’s story? He has all the potential for a book boyfriend and definitely needs his HEA! 🙏🏻

I liked this one. Nothing too crazy, but it was super cute. A clean YA book, who knew that was so hard to find. The storyline was well written in my opinion, it felt natural. I related to the main character. Luke 😍 Thats all I have to say about that. I hate Jasmine. I loved her brother even though he was being very oblivious through most of this. These kind of book make me wish I had an older brother.

Cute fast read. I wish it was longer and their relationship has longer to develop. But Luke and Harper were super cute. Harper is just like me! Super competitive, tomboyish, temper, sassy/witty, determined, I loved her! And Luke was really cute too! Again I just wish I had more time with them. I needed to see more of their adorable arguing then slowing going into the fake relationship to the real one to love. But if you want a cute fast read this is definitely a good one!

This book was good, big definitely not the best by Randi Rigby. For example, you never find out what happened to Jasmine, if she changed.
Also, there isn’t really a conflict, Harper and Luke just end up together. I mean, I’d like something to hold them back (like Dibs by Randi Rigby).
One more, you know how Harper and Luke fake date? They never announce it and admit it they love each other or anything. Not the best book by Mrs. Rigby

Loved this book! The characters were so well drawn. I liked that Harper was an athlete and a vibrant personality rather than only the guy being the sports person. I also liked the way that her character, Luke's and Cal's changed/developed over the course of the book - and that she had some real imperfections to deal with. And, of course, I love that they fell in love with each other as people, rather than a set of abs and some nice curves.

Another one of her books that I couldn’t put down! As in, trying to sneak in pages at long red lights, grocery lines, and while hiding in the bathroom. Please make this into an audiobook! My Brother’s Best Friend is a clean, YA romance filled with quirky, lovable characters that cracked me up and had me rooting for this unlikely couple from the beginning. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous

Absolutely fabulous.

Fast paced and adorable. Harper is a force to be reckoned with. Luke is a reserved guy with a haunted past. Cal is the dumb brother.

I wish we got a little more in depth with Cal, Harper, and Luke. The ending was a little abrupt. But otherwise really sweet.

Cute read

This is not my typical, but I desperately needed a cute read as a pallet cleanser after a rough week! It is a 5 star read in it’s category. It light and sweet and also very well written. The dynamic between the H and h was adorable. Very of-13, but that’s what I was in the mood for!

Awesome book

I Luke he’s such a sweetheart. His “family” is worthless I can’t believe his mom let her husband treat her son that way. I’m glad he has cal and Harper. Things start changing when Cal makes the devil incarnate. So Harper and Luke have to work together to get rid of that evil snake.

My Brother’s Best Friend

Cute and sweet. Luke and Harper‘s story was a light easy read despite the fact that it dealt with some very difficult and heavy topics. The main characters’ chemistry was good but not sizzling, but it was cool to see a mashup of the brother’s best friend/enemies to lovers/fake dating tropes.

A good clean YA romance about young love and a fine line between love and hate. Also, a good lesson about peer pressure into doing something like a tattoo without thinking it through.

I highly recommend it.

A nice, sweet story

I love a book that i can just enjoy, maybe even predict the ending, and just read for reading's sake. It's nice to get lost in a book, if even for just a little while.
