I let her go once because she wasn’t mine. This time, I’ll die before I give her up…
I want her.
That smile… those curves.
But Ava doesn’t belong to me.
Then she arrives in my clubhouse, seeking refuge. My gut churns at the sight of the bruises on her face, the fear in her eyes.
Before I was the president of the War Brothers Motorcycle Club, I was a special forces sniper who hunted down evil men like her husband. Now I avoid relationships because the wounds I have are more than skin deep.
But Ava’s different, and when I find her in the wrong bedroom—my bedroom—one night, what happens next changes everything.
I let her go once because she was married, but I won’t make the same mistake twice.
I’ll die before I let her dangerous husband, the jealous women in our club, or the enemy our club didn’t see coming lay a finger on her.

Heroine a little bit of a doormat. I’m getting tired of all these damsels in distress. One paragraph he says he can’t keep her bc he isn’t good for her and needs to protect her from himself. Literally the very next paragraph is him saying he’s too selfish to let her go. So which is it? He had a main club whore he appeared to be exclusive with that was a bitch and ratted her out to her abusive husband she had run from. Really no consequences for it. She was kicked out of the club and that’s it.
Idk it was ok and held my attention but I’m over men who don’t go after what they want. That’s so beta. Like man the fuck up your the president of an MC but are a pussy about going after a woman?
Sick of wishy washy men who take over half the book to make a move. And then SHE still had to make the first move! And I have no problem with a damsel in distress if they aren’t pathetic. If they find their strength and grow. I swear every fucking book these days is all about damsels in distress, cheating or douchbag manwhores.
Oh and let’s not forget that he’s a manwhore and has all this experience but of course she’s never even had an orgasm before him 🙄🙄🙄
It’s really not dual POV because it’s all her except two chanter and half the epilogue. Maybe being in his head would have made it more bearable.
The CW didn’t bother me much after he kicked his main one out and isn’t with anyone else after she moves in. But I’m so sick of manwhores being with the club whores. And the women are just expected to live with all these women her man has fucked? That’s just weird. I love MC books but can’t handle the whole CW shit.

At the wedding for one of his War Brothers MC brothers, Reaper sees the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, Ava. Ava though is married and as much Reaper senses that not all is as it seems, Reaper lets her go. A year later Ava has contacted her sister who is married to Axle and needs help, she has been beaten and looking to get away from her marriage. Reaper lets her stay with the MC but he also takes his time to earn her trust, could she accept him in her life when she is ready to move on?
I thought this was a great beginning to a new series. Action packed, great characters for future books. Ava grows strong in this book and takes charge of her life, had some funny moments too.
Not gonna lie I was wary going into this book simply because it’s an MC book and in my experience they don’t have the best characters. This book took me completely by surprise! Not only did I love the two main MCs but the secondary characters as well. Ava was really sweet and Reaper was such a good guy. I really liked them together. The writing was great and the flow of the book was fast paced and easy to read.
In this book you will find: •domestic violence •love at first site/falls fast •a great MC family •NO CHEATING •light OW drama •HFN/HEA
Reaper is the first book in the War Brothers MC series and at 200 pages, it was a quick read. This book follows Reaper, the president of the MC, and Ava, the sister-in-law of one of the members, who turns to the War Brothers as a safe haven after escaping an abusive husband. I found the premise intriguing, but in many ways this book fell short for me.
Given how important Ava’s sister Elena and her husband Axle are in this book, I feel that their story should have been the first book. There were so many times that it seemed that I was reading a second book and missing out on the backstory.
I loved Reaper; his protectiveness, leadership, and respect for his brothers in the MC. Ava experienced years of emotional, financial, and more recently, physical abuse. I wish that therapy would have been mentioned in the story as part of her path to healing. Feeling safe and loved is huge, but I believe therapy is essential in a situation such as Ava’s.
Ultimately, the plot was promising, but the short length of the book kept the characters from being fully fleshed out and I was left wanting more. I am still glad that I read it and it is a solid three stars from me.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for a digital copy of this book. This is my honest review.
*****4 Stars***** This is a great start to this series and this was great first read by this author for me. The first time Reaper lays his eyes on Ava he knew he felt something he'd never felt before had to talk to her and tell her gorgeous she is even with her husband lurking in the background of her sister wedding. Fast forward Ava needs a safe place to land and her sister offers her to stay with them at the club house until she can get her feet under her. Ava husband is very unstable and very abusive to her and she just wants to be free of him. Reaper tries to hold back his feeling for Ava but with her under the protection of the MC and living War Brothers MC club house it’s not that easy. Ava trying to find balance in her new world and find some peace; but when her past and clubs past comes knocking it disrupts everything she has found.
Very nice quick read. Slow burn romance. If you want spice and smutty scenes, nothing happens until around 70%. I understood because of her situation, and getting her to feel safe and comfortable while building a connection, but i wouldn't have minded a bit more spice. Both the main characters and most of the side characters were likeable and relatable. The plot and storyline kept me interested, although sometimes it felt like more in the background to her feelings about being at the mc and liking Reaper. We got a few chapters in reapers Pov, but i would have liked a bit more from him. As someone who also struggles with endometriosis, i was hoping for a surprise pregnancy. Depending on how bad it is, pregnancy can be difficult, but not always impossible. I guess i wanted to live vicariously through them, also reaper seems to struggle with how he sees himself after his service, i think a baby along with his relationship with Ava who is a nurturer would have added a extra layer. I'm hoping we get Rage, Demon, and Bomber's books next. I'm really interested to hear their stories. Especially bomber, I'm intrigued to see who can get him interested in a relationship after whatever he's been through. I don’t know why I don’t read more of this type of book because I always end up really enjoying them. Reaper was definitely one of the great ones, I couldn’t put it down. It devoured me heart and soul. I finished it in two days, but found myself wishing that I had taken my time, or that the book had been longer. Like a few other reviewers mentioned there weren’t a lot of chapters from Reapers point of view and I would have loved to hear more from him. I don’t think anything was taken from the story because we didn’t though. Ava’s chapters were fully threshed out, built the scenes, the characters were well described, and contained all the information needed to further the story as the book was mostly centered on her. Reaper did include some sensitive topics like Domestic Violence, PTSD, Violence, and a gun battle, plus a scene concerning an animals welfare (Ava saves him and he’s ok after the other incident) it was all handled very tastefully. Reaper and all the other men in the club were sensitive, protective, and their alpha male personalities was just what Ava needed to feel safe and comfortable enough to come back to herself. I loved Ward’s writing and her ability to spin a story. I definitely see myself reading more from her including this series with book 2 about Bomber.
This is the first book in the series. It features an alpha male, that is honourable to his country, club, fellow brothers and treats women with respect. It is a second change with an unsuspecting heroine who is determined to restart her life from DV but it is a long road! Ava seeks refuge at the War Bothers MC Club House from her abusive husband Beau and Reaper is more than happy to oblige, he wanted her from the moment he saw her a year prior!
Lee does an amazing job of not just the MC culture but also DV highlighting the triggers and real danger of leaving and lack of protection and how to get out the situation including how the perpetuator is able to manipulate others around them such as family to get what they want - sociopathic behavioural tendencies. She describes the trauma the victim goes through and how hard it is to be "normal" in "normal situations"; the being broken but both Reaper and Ava were broken in different ways and yet both warriors; heroes; and passionate about those they love and will protect including a big soppy dog!
The characters of the supporting cast are also firmly laid down and each has a story there to be explored in future books I suspect. She paints the MC as yes illegal activity but it was more than that they characters were nice people with principles; an odd bunch but together family, brothers in arms. As a reader it was easy to overlook the illegality of the MC world and focus on the characters.
There was a clear theme and from the start opening, she had the reader hooked. Lee opened shifted the attention from Ava, her sister and brother in law and the foreshadowing of Beau which kept the pace plus slowed juxtapositions in people that could hurt but didn't and a man that hurt his wife because he could. You expected the violence to be from an MC instead Ava received the opposite - thoughtfulness, protectiveness, love and kindness.
The ending was rather rapid but unfairness the build up to it was a long time coming and I gave four stars because someone that suffered DV wouldn't jump in that quickly with someone else as it is very difficult to trust and also someone that gained freedom would not relish a cut with the property of! Would have liked to see more realistic chronological time period - it was all to rushed and with DV it takes a long time to recover dependant on how many years it has been going on. I also think Lee should have dug deeper on the abuse not generalised it so much - abuse is a lot more than just physical (other forms were mentioned but briefly), it would have been good to really use this book as a platform to really highlight it.

A brand new author to me and I read book one of her new MC Romance series, Reaper, and it is absolutely fantastic!!
Reaper is the President of the War Brothers MC. The first time he sees Ava and her curves, he is stunned by her. He approaches her and tells her she’s gorgeous, and she shyly says thank you. That’s when Reaper knew she had to be his. One problem, she’s married. Her husband is a drunk, a mentally and physically abusive husband, and mentally unstable.
A year later and they meet again, but Ava is scared, beaten badly and called her sister, who is married to Axel - a member of the MC. They drive her to the clubhouse and Reaper agrees she can stay there.
Best thing that ever happened to both of them. They both have a past that broke them, but they are both incredibly strong. Together they are unstoppable. I loved their story, and Reaper had my toes curling!!!
This was filled with suspense, laughter, friendship and passionate romance. It is a great start to this MC series. I felt like I got to know enough about all the characters that I’m excited to read each of their stories!! The plot was well paced and had me hooked right away, turning the pages late into the night. I am SO excited for the next book!! If you enjoy MC Romance, hot passion, Suspense, laughter, Family and Friends, you will definitely enjoy Reaper!!
A captivating MC romance which had me hooked from page one. Reaper is the president of the War Brothers Motorcycle Club, and when Ava, the one women he’s ever wanted, turns up at his clubhouse seeking refuge from her abusive husband he’s not going to let her go again. Reaper is angered by the bruises on Ava’s face but also by the fear in her eyes, however, as an ex special forces sniper he’s used to hunting down evil men. Reaper avoids relationships due to the wounds he has left over from his sniper days, which are more than skin deep, but when he finds Ava in his bedroom he’s determined not to make the same mistake twice. He let her go once before because she was married and so didn’t belong to him, but now she does. As Reaper and Ava’s relationship develops they have to deal with her dangerous husband, the jealous women in the club, and then an enemy the MC didn’t see coming. This is a slow burn romance which introduces us to Reaper and Ava, who’s chemistry really comes across in the narrative. The storyline is full of drama, suspense and romance whilst dealing with the difficult subject of domestic violence sensitively. The descriptive narrative really brought the world of the War Brothers MC, and it’s members vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the story and engaged with the characters. I look forward to the other members getting their own stories.
What a Ride!!! Reaper is Book 1 in the War Brothers MC series by Bianca Lee Ward, an author who is new to me. From the beginning I was hooked. These characters had me intrigued and throughout they kept me captivated and slightly on edge. Reaper and Ava's story may have been a slooooow burn but the chemistry and connection between these two from the beginning is undeniable. But... When you read Ava's story you understand why the relationship between them moved at a slow pace and your respect Reaper even more for his understanding and continual love and support of Ava. Seriously this burly, sweet and protective biker is an absolute keeper. My heart hurt for Ava but damn you can't help but admire her strength and bravery. I adored some of the relationships she formed with the other club brothers and how they quickly took her under their protective wings. I'm loving the different personalities in the club brothers and can't wait for all of their stories! They all had me laughing at times and intrigued.
A quick but highly enjoyable MC read! Bring on Book 2 Check those Trigger Warnings!
I love me a good MC story and the protective alpha men the WAR BROTHERS MC drew me in. Reaper is the first book in the series, and it is a good start. I wish the story was longer. It is a short read, but I wanted more. It’s nice to see another Australian author coming into their own. This is the first book I have read by Bianca, and I am ready to dive in to the second book in this series as I fell in love with these men. Hell, I know these men. Reaper the pres of the War Brother’s MC is loving Ava from afar, from the moment she needed his protection she became his but their lives are complicated. Reaper and Ava's story is an emotional one. Their romance is a slow burn, and I would have liked it to be a bit rawer and grittier with more steam and more hotness. I have is that I also felt like we missed out on so much more of Elena and Axle’s story. I loved the brothers of the MC their comradery, the respect, the love and humorous side of them. They cracked me up as much as they melted my heart. I am now off to read the second book. I can’t wait to see where Bianca takes these bikers and their stories.
5 Stars Reaper (War Brothers MC Book 1) by Bianca Lee Ward
Reaper is the first book in the War Brothers MC Series and is a MC Romance that is fast paced and hard to put down until you finish. This is a new to me author and I’m definitely interested in what else they’ve written. I’m a sucker for MC Romance and this one checked all the boxes, bad boy bikers, drama, revenge, action Romance and more. Ava and Reaper meet at Ava's sister’s wedding and the moment he seen her he felt something he'd never felt before. He knew something seemed off about her husband couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Ava ends up at the War Brothers MC with her sister to stay for a bit while she figures things out. You don’t want to miss what happens next, I highly recommend reading this book. I don’t want to give anything away. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I’m really hoping they all get there own book.
Reaper is book one in the War Brothers MC series by Bianca Lee Ward. This book was really good and captivating from the start. I found myself on edge more often than not. Although it was considered a slow burn romance wise, SO MUCH happened throughout this book. I loved getting to know the men in the MC. Each of their personalities shown without overpowering the main characters. Ava is so incredibly strong even though she thinks she’s weak. The bravery she exemplifies and how she loves to take care of people who are important to her is amazing. Reaper is your typical biker, but I loved also seeing his soft side. The chemistry between the pair is so strong from the start. I loved it. I cannot wait to read book two when it comes out! Especially since it’s about the elusive member of the club!
Ava leaves her abusive husband and goes to live with her sister in a MC compound. She is given protection by Reaper, the MC President. Reaper teacher Ava how to defend herself and helps her gain her confidence back. Reaper makes Ava feel safe. He and Ava have a connection that they explore. Reaper loves Ava and vows to protect her from her estranged husband who is looking for her. Ava loves Reaper and accepts the unorthodox family he provides with the MC.
This was a good book. I really enjoyed it.

This is the first book in the War Brothers MC series and honestly I wasn't sure at first...! The plot seemed a bit easy, but the characters grew on me and I became invested in them and their futures. I'm excited to read the next part of this series.
It’s a slow burn but the steamy scenes could have been HOTTER, once you get to them lol. There's not as much violence as in some MC stories I've read. Looking forward to reading growly Bomber’s story next.
I received an ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book had a lot of potential and while the writing style quickly showed it wasn’t for me, the story line hooked me and kept me going. Unfortunately, I DNFed at around 30% because it was getting a bit too hard to read dialogue wise, and everything seemed to be happening so fast and just seemed a little inconsistent with who the MC’s were.
The premise of this book reminded me of Sons of Anarchy, but with less violence and action. I can't say that I loved it because it lacks detail and the romance between Ava and Reaper evolves so quickly, it's almost hard to believe. I did like Ava's backstory, as it draws you in knowing how much she's been through in her abusive marriage. I would've liked more spice between Ava and Reaper. There's also a lot of side characters that were pretty hard to keep track of. It is a really quick and easy read, but it could use more substance. I would still read the second book in the War Brothers MC series to at least see if there's improvement.
This is a well written slow burn romance with strong characters in Ava and Reaper. The author deals with overcoming both physical and mental abuse and gives them a second chance when they meet again a year after they first met. I loved watching him support her and seeing them come together. I loved reading their story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I can’t believe this is this author’s debut book. The characters are well developed, and the storyline is intriguing, suspenseful, and entertaining. Reaper is the Prez of the MC and Ava is the gorgeous, curvy woman that he has his eyes set on once he meets her. The only catch is that she is married, but her husband is very abusive and unstable. Sometime later, she ends up calling her sister, who is married to another member of the MC, because she was beaten so badly. Reaper agrees that she can stay and that is the best for the both of them. They both come from broken pasts, but can they heal each other?
I have always loved the "second chance" trope and this feels a bit like that. Ava meets Reaper at a wedding, but Ava is married already. To an abusive husband. Man, the story just takes off. I was hooked and stayed up way too late reading. I loved the secondary characters as well. Can't wait to read Bomber's story. Loved the world the author created. Great job with the emotions of Ava's story especially at the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat in one scene!
Bada$$es in a sweet love story ? A quiet heroine overcoming great obstacles with the love of true family & friends uplifting her ? A courageous, sexy, rough & tumble man with a soft spot for her ? An animal soul mate rescue ? One of the most beautiful, romantic ending sentences I've ever read ? check check check check check ! alllll the boxes are checked, even ones I didn't even know were there. This book might even count as a check UP so honestly, read it & enjoy it way more than a real one.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was one of those books that easily flowed, the pages kept turning into the night as I wanted to see all the relationships in the MC develop. I fell in love with the club in the way the author described everyone. I had a few chuckles with Conan’s antics too. I can’t wait to continue this series.

Reaper is a slow burn, MC romance. Ava & Reaper meet at her sisters wedding, then are brought together a year later when she leaves her abusive husband. This was a fast paced, emotional Romance. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading more from this author
This is the first book in the War Brothers MC and what a great start to this series. Reaper is the President of the club. Ava is running from an abusive husband. The attraction between these two is instant and strong. Can the MC protect her from the man who hurt her? I love the characters in this story. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to read more about all the members and their stories.
Reaper is a delightful addition to Mc Romance A relatively quick read (2 hours for me) it has everything the trope is known for, protective hero, damsel in distress, band of brothers, enemies at the gate, a past that returns and jealous women up to no good.
Add in some endearing characters and the potential for outside conflict, and you have a great start to a series.
I enjoyed reading Reaper and look forward to the next book in the series - Bomber.
I received this book from Book Sirens and the author for free. This is my honest review.
Ava reaches out to her sister whose husband happens to be a member of the War Brothers MC of which Reaper is the Prez of. She is in need of a safe haven from her abusive husband and Reaper agrees to let her stay at the clubhouse. This isn’t the first time Reaper and Ava met because the last time Reaper was all about Ava until he found out she was married. Now was the time for him to help her and maybe get his second chance.
