In the gripping sequel to "Restless," Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell's transformation into a devoted family man is put to the ultimate test. Once feared for his ruthlessness, he finds himself drifting further away from his notorious MC leader persona as he navigates the aftermath of his youngest child’s turbulent entrance into the world.
As Jo experiences a new set of challenges, he only spirals further, affecting everyone around him. Most especially his wife, Megan, who struggles to traverse her grief as she enters a new stage in her life while dealing with a hard-headed bully.
Amidst this chaos, CJ, Outlaw and Meggie's son, struggles to hold everything together as his parents falter. He has a hard time recognizing his developing feelings for a girl who isn't Harley Banks, causing further complications in his already tumultuous life. Meanwhile, Bash still lurks, and as his reign of terror continues, the kids of the MC learn what it means to be a Death Dweller.
In this gritty and emotionally charged sequel, "Relentless" delves deeper into the complexities of family, loyalty, and the harsh realities of life within the MC world. Will Outlaw's transformation be enough to protect those he loves, or will the past catch up with him, threatening to tear everything apart?
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.
Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer. Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon. Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters. She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself. In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
All books must be read in this series in order to understand what is happening.
That being said I was still a little confused. Outlaw the president of the Deathdwellers had been my main H since I read the first book in the series. This book Ms. Kelly showed him faltering but no wonder with what she was putting them through. Also characters that readers hated before are starting to become likable. SHOCKING! Also characters I was rooting for were sooooo annoying. This book ended on a cliffy 🤬. But I will read as soon as the next book come out.
Warning there are numerous editing errors in the arc I received. Published version should be ok.
I have really enjoyed the back stories of the OG’s, even the crappy ones. I also love the next generation and their parents stories that are intertwined but not. I cannot say enough good things about this book and eve though it ended on a cliffhanger, it’s still absolutely brilliant! I look forward to the next book in the series because The Death Dwellers are the bomb. I give this book the maximum 5 ⭐️ but it’s worth at least 10 ⭐️.
Absolutely love this series ❤️❤️❤️ catching up with everyone, getting a deeper look into the lives of the children. Johnny just won’t learn, he’s out of his head and in too deep. Love Outlaw and Megan, have always been a big fan from the first book. Cannot wait for the next release. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
Loved this also. Page turning and relentless pacing. Love this series and love this author! I can’t wait to see where she takes us in this series that has me captivated.
5 stars is never enough, this is my favourite MC series and considering that’s 90% of my reading genres you understand how amazing this series is. Sooo much happening in the present with flashbacks to the OG’s that makes little lightbulbs go off in your head I love that Kat does that. I admit I was worried she would make outlaw and Megan separate even temporarily that would be hard to read. Little Jo is safe too so far so another deep sigh of relief. I don’t want to accidentally give anything away with my review but I will say this as a testament to Kathryn’s storytelling and writing style, I forget that it’s in 3rd person which I don’t usually like but with this series it doesn’t even register with me that it’s not in each character’s POV.
Unfortunately I really struggled reading this. I read the 3 previous books but I was still confused with all the characters . I think maybe I might have been struggling because I have a hard time concentrating on all the characters because I have only been able to read such a short time every couple of days because my senior dog is sick and needs constant attention .
The writing and the story is good though and I think it would be less confusing if you can invest in the time and memory to remember the characters .
RELENTLESS: The Legacy Rises is the third instalment in Kathryn C Kelly’s contemporary, adult DEATH DWELLERS MC : BRIDGE SERIES dark, erotic, series focusing on the multi-generational membership in the Death Dwellers MC-a spinoff from the Death Dwellers MC. Most of the original couples and characters from the Death Dwellers MC series play a significant role in the current timelines. I recommend reading the original series as well as RECKLESS, and RESTLESS books one and two of The Legacy Generation.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and language, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers. Although several of the characters are under sixteen years old and control a major portion of the story line premise and conflict, the entirety of the premise is intended for mature readers.
Told from several omniscient third person perspectives using present day and memories from the past, several acts and interludes, RELENTLESS, as did the previous instalments, continues to follow several intersecting paths focusing on the acrimonious friendships and relationships between the extended families, and members, of the Death Dwellers MC. As Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell and his wife Meggie continue to struggle with their own relationship since the early birth of their youngest daughter, there are many people behind the scenes focusing on taking the couple down but ultimately Meggie Caldwell for her connections to the past. Greed and jealousy are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg: no one is safe, betrayal is rampant and disheartening.
RELENTLESS is a dark, complex and detailed story focusing on many issues including graphic violence, discrimination, racism, mental instability and illness, psychotic breaks, emotional and physical infidelity. There is madness, anger, resentment and loss; betrayal, abuse, incest, vengeance and jealousy; mistrust and misunderstanding-most manipulated by actors behinds the scenes resulting in any number of fall-outs and accusations. The dysfunctionality of the Death Dwellers MC family is rife with any number of psychological terrors-the selfishness, secrets, lies and manipulations threaten the sanity of everyone involved.
A major portion of the story line follows the under eighteen (most under sixteen) extended family members-the legacy generation who are straddling the line between madness and mania. No one is likeable from child to adult, the amount of deceit is dangerous and alarming.
Once again, Heed the trigger warnings-they are graphic and numerous.
I read Reckless, Restless and Relentless and it was my first introduction to The Death Dwellers MC. I started with The Legacy Generation, but I wasn't too lost since these books included some background into the OG Death Dwellers MC. This series is unpredictable, twisted, ruthless, suspenseful, and at times very maddening. There were times I wanted to reach into the book and grad some of the characters and shake them until they started using their brains and realizing the destruction they were making.
Even with the maddening parts of this series, I enjoyed reading all three books and I liked most of the characters. Not that there were bad characters, but there were annoying characters that angered me. I highly recommend this series if you like to read twisted and unpredictable MC stories. I am looking forward to reading Ruthless when it comes out.
This was my first introduction to Kathryn C. Kelly, but I will more than likely go back and read the Original series as well. There are a lot of characters to keep straight, and with the family tree at the front of the first book helps with keeping them straight.
I was lucky enough to read the ARC, and I'm glad I did. This book centers around the Caldwell family stressing about their newest member, while juggling the world of outlaw bikers. Drama ensues, largely because of a blond villain by the name of John Donovon. I know that he's technically a hero, but his actions are anything but heroic, and many of the issues present in the club are due to him being an idiot. He wants to upstage Christopher by dealing with Bash, but even when it's clear he's incapable of handling the maniac, he keeps things hidden, putting everyone in danger. He's determined to dig himself deeper into a hole. I can only hope the bottom of the hole leads to his painful death.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the third book in the series, but because it ends on a cliffhanger, there will be a fourth.
First off, again, CJ is a young man wise beyond his years. Will he make the perfect club president? I think he will. That’s if he garners the respect from the others because there are some within his peerage who do give him a hard time. He needs a bit of his father’s feistiness to let the select few know where they stand, and what they can expect if they dare to disrespect him.
It is a cliff hanger so be aware. At first I was like NOOOOOOO!!!! With Christopher. It was a hand clutching for sure. I never thought I would say this but when Kendall is has the voice a reason then you know crap has hit the fan. I will say that another Death Dweller book has all the feels, the drama, the trifling people, the heartbreak, the on your edge seat of WTF? Let the trauma begin. Great read!
Loved it so much, I had to read it twice. This was another amazing book to add to the series. From beginning to end it has you hooked. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will definitely get mad. But the way that it is written will keep you on your toes. I love the way the books continues to tie in with each other. The back stories of all the OG and the new surprises and twist and turns has me excited for the next book.
Relentless is book 3 in the Death Dwellers Legacy series and like all the others, it's fantastic! It makes the anticipation for the next book all the sweeter. I love getting more insight into the older characters and all of the chaos that comes with them. Relentless comes with all the drama, feels, twists, turns and so much more. What a fantastic addition to this fantastic series!
Kathryn again knocked it out of the park. I believe I have an addiction to her books. I have a need to read more. The kids seem to have gotten themselves in quite a mess. Johnny is trying to do what he thinks is right but he is going about it without backup. I didn't want it to end.
Relentless had me all caught up in this thrilling series. It is another great story that had me connecting with the characters along with a deeper understanding and appreciation of them. It is a well written book that takes you along the journey into their lives of the Death Dwellers and had me glued to my seat from start to finish. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
The third book I have read in the MC and I loved it, I was so engaged I couldn't stop reading, I loved all the characters,. Their was so much going on, There are twisted and turns, intense and suspense, I completely loved it I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I love how you give us the background of the original death dwellers. I love how the childwanna help. But they don't want to get no one in alive. And I love how they all hate Johnny right now. I think so excited for the next book
This is part of a three-book series, at least it's been three books thus far. You definitely need to read book one and continue through. I must say though, it's a very good book I enjoyed it very much.
This series still has the power to surprise me. You know how sometimes after reading a book, you have questions about a couple? Well, I am scratching my watch and winding my butt over EVERYONE and EVERYTHING!!!
Every single one of them has something going on. A complete brouhaha about to break out
As always, Kat Kelly's storytelling was outstanding. She had me invested in the story from the beginning and eagerly devouring the book and until the last page was turned. In fact, I immediately had to go back and read it all over again. I just loved it that much, and I could read about these characters forever.
As usual, Outlaw and Megan were everything. The thing about these characters is that they're so lifelike to me. So I get a little emotional when someone messes with them. There were several people that I really wanted to shake ... or possibly do worse as they continued to antagonize my favorite characters. Anyway, things are starting to heat up with the common arc that spans these last several books. In other words, Outlaw is figuring out everything, what everyone has been up to, and it's all about to hit the fan.
Hopefully, my review will bring some new readers to the Death Dwellers series. It really is an awesome experience. Note that I called it an experience .... because reading this series truly is an experience. You'll fall in love with the characters, and you'll hate some of them too. Truthfully it's a bit of both with most of them.
Kathryn Kelly has built a wonderful world with these Death Dwellers and given her devoted readers hours and hours of enjoyable, suspenseful reading. I loved reading Relentless. I loved watching as everyone grew, and I'm not just talking about the kids. I do hope to see a few "get what's coming to them" in the next book. IE Johnnie, Bailey, and Harley. I can't wait to "watch" as it all unfolds in the next book.
