“He’s death. He’s terror. He’s everything people look out for in the dark streets of London… He won’t hesitate to kill your wife. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word Mercy. He is The Gargoyle and he’s unstoppable…”

Josephine "Joe" Kleve doesn't expect much out of her twenty-fifth birthday. All it should have been was a trip to London, a day browsing through museums, and a night of clubbing. Coming from a small town in Iowa, it's more than she can ask for...until she's attacked in a dark alley and bitten by what looks like a moving, breathing statue in the light of day.

Callan has woken up in a lot of strange places before, and he sometimes chalks it up to being nocturnal. Roofs, trees, cathedrals. If there's a ledge for him to sit on, he'll wake up there, and won't remember how it happened in the evening. He's known what he is his whole life, but half of it, he doesn't remember. At night, he's a man who bartends to London's worst while keeping himself a secret, and during the day...well, he doesn't know. The night he wakes up in the strangest place ever—slumped against a trashcan—a woman comes into the bar he works at, and he instantly knows something is wrong.

Callan takes it upon himself to figure out what is wrong with her, even if it means kidnapping her. The two of them have to work together to find a cure for whatever is wrong with her because not only is the clock starting to count down on her last days, but creatures he spent his life fighting and hiding from are suddenly coming after them in waves. Through the danger, the fear, and the uncertainty of what Joe is turning into, their passions start to burn and Callan realizes that giving Joe up is not an option.

I found this on Radish and started reading it out of curiosity, and then I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.

This story is a dark, twisted and delicious paranormal romance with a lot of suspense, some graphic violence, a little bit of steam, and no erotica. The characters are amazing.

One of the best stories I’ve ever read.

The version on Radish has some typos and usage errors, but they don’t interfere too much.
