While I love the premise behind this book I am just torn.
I struggle with what seems like a plethora of scripture references as justification. What he has to say is good advice but I feel like the excess of scripture is overkill and seems beyond a reference point.
While I’m sure he had a life changing reaction to his brother’s death it just seems like there is a sincerity level missing. All of this seems like we are trying to prove something. Or prove himself ... to himself.
I just wish this was more simplistic and more heartfelt but it is missing something for me.
I understand that I am not the target high school audience for this book ... but I just feel like there was something missing ...
“This is why this question of “Where will you go when you die?” Is so essential. It’s not just essential in determining Heaven or Hell after we die, it’s essential for today. Where we will spend eternity, our final destination, will completely determine the way we take this trip called life.”
“The truth is, we can call ourselves Christians all we want, but that doesn’t mean a thing unless our actions reflect a truly changed heart.”
This Book Changed my life and my journey with Jesus Christ. One of the only books I've read that literally leads you straight to God's Word and everything (scripture)is right there for you to read straight on the page. %100 recommend for conversation with anyone, especially new followers of Christ struggling with sin at a young age, because EVERYONE needs to KNOW JESUS. I love reading the bible, but reading on my own and figuring it out by myself was hard so Keith's testimony and notes and metaphors help perfect my thought process and connect my life to the TRUTH which is God's Word so I KNOW it and LIVE it. Thank you Jesus for this book,Keith Becker's I Know, I pray you'd work through those in need, Lord,to utilize this work of art in such a way that guides them to you and ONLY you. John 14:6(NIV) Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." In Jesus's Mighty Name Amen.
The book "I Know" is about how Keith Becker's brother passed away in a car accident one night when he was out with his friends and the we're coming home from a party that they have been drinking at. It also talks about how you need to make the right choices in life and listen to God, and don't go down the "narrow" path in life you need to go down the road that is gonna make you stay out of trouble and do good things instead of bad things. I thought this book was a very good book, I liked how Keith not only talked about just his brother but he also talked about God. You should listen to the what God is trying to tell you. I liked how he used some of the verses from the Bible, and describe real life situations with them and made them relate, how you can see them if that was happening to you.
