A Midsummer Night's Omega

Rate this book
Hadassah is a quiet, sweet Omega who has always found singing to be her outlet from the stuttering that makes her feel awkward and self-conscious. Craving to be near the stage, but too nervous to get on it herself, she applies for a job as the manager of a traveling theater company. But when she arrives at the interview, she gets scented by Jesse and Kieran, the theater's two sexy star Alphas.

Jesse and Kieran want to claim Hadassah as theirs, if they can keep the nervous Omega around long enough for their First Alpha to get home. Saul Sun Hawk owns the theater company, runs their pack, and as new money he has been wanting to take a male Omega to solidify his status as an elite Alpha. None of the Alphas were expecting to get emotionally attached to their Omega, and Saul, Jesse, and Kieran are in for a surprise when they meet Hadassah.

But there are secrets in Cammarin that could change the entire balance of power between Alphas and Omegas, and Omegas are much more than just status symbols for Alphas. Can her pack convince Hadassah that a quiet Omega like her is more important than she thinks, AND make her dreams of being a singer come true?

A Midsummer Night’s Omega is a sweet & steamy standalone Omegaverse romance with low angst and high doting. It is set in the same Cammarin universe as Much Ado About Omega. Scenting, nesting, heats, knots, MFMM, no MM, Multi-POV, HEA.

If this isn't sweet, I don't know what is.

I love Omegaverse--3 powerful Alphas simping and bending over backwards to spoil their little Omega? Yes, please 🥹
And the way the Omega offers mutual comfort. They crave her claiming them as much as they want to claim her. My heart was ooey-gooey.

Bi and non-binary rep 🙌🏻❤️
I LOVE when Alphas embrace their fem side. The Alphas in this book break from the stereotypical Alpha mold.

Plus it was hot af.

Me when I hit the 75% mark:

Not to mention the ELITIST CONSPIRACY!!!! 😮 I wish this wasn't the last book but, as far as conclusions go, it was satisfying. Loose ends wrapped.

Good story, but I definitely want more of this universe!

I believe this is my first novel by Valancy Rivenhall, and I hope there are more for me to discover. My only complaint is this omegaverse is slightly different from others I've read, and I feel like more explanation was needed. Maybe an Author Note or disclaimer, or just more world-building.

I was a bit apprehensive because I don't like when one of the suitors in a poly, especially omegaverse, doesn't want the omega (or beta, as sometimes is the case) because the angst just breaks my heart. I'm happy to report the instalove-scent match, whatever you want to call it worked wonders on the reluctant Alpha, and he more than proved he loved her, and his affections were pure and true to her.

I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a short, sweet, omegaverse.

DNF at 69%. When they said the land was dying and wanted her to help because she’s a REAL omega I noped out.

Three alphas - only one of them bisexual. Okay, weird considering the MC is female. They’ve been looking for a male omega and the SECOND they scent her they’re all in. Can’t even get hard for each other anymore without her in the room. WHAT? Their lead alpha is all no no no but the second he scents her he’s “gone gone” like what? It’s stupid fast, the characters are comically melodramatic, and I hate it. The only reason why I got so far into it is the fact that the story is so short.

I did like how catty the two ‘gay’ alphas were to each other at first. Now I’m just confused. What was the point of this? Of them? What kind of story is this supposed to be. I thought they were actors? What’s the point adding in the omega scam? I just…

Nope.

Straight up Confused

Started out OK, quickly devolved into repetitive use of the same words, an almost childlike mentality in all 3 “alphas” and 2 gay men suddenly being enthusiastically straight. The story itself was too short, the characters were not flushed out enough, and it ended in a way that really didn’t provide much closure or explain the “magic” of omegas.

A lot of potential here, but overall the series was a little bit disappointing. This is really the only omegaverse book that I’ve read where things were not explained very well.

Felt kind of hollow.
