Ella vowed never to love again. Dan vowed never to perform again. Until music brought them together.
By day Ella is an assistant in a bridal boutique helping brides-to-be find their dream wedding dresses and Dan is a painter/decorator helping clients to transform their houses into homes. But come evening neither venture out, with Ella living life vicariously through others and Dan only leaving his flat for one of his mum’s famous Sunday roasts.
When both are forced to confront their fears, they join a singing app to find their voices. Here their solitary worlds collide, connecting them through their love of songs with lyrics telling a story they daren’t speak.
Can the power of music break the vows they made to themselves? Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never met?
Sing For Me is a heartwarming romantic comedy filled with laughter, love notes and a melody that just might be the soundtrack to Ella and Dan’s happily ever after.
Perfect for fans of You've Got Mail and Music and Lyrics
What a fun read! When I read the blurb, the premise of love by singing app really appealed to me, and I could not wait to get my hands on this book! Ella is building her confidence after a particularly painful divorce. She finds solace in a bridal shop, which might not be the ideal place for someone so sensitive to romance right now. However, it seems to be the right place for her. Dan is building his business up as a painter/decorator. Things are going well for him, as he finds a couple of great clients with big jobs to complete that help him gain recognition for the good job he does. However, something in his past is haunting him. Both find solace in a singing app, Sing With Me, and the effects that the app has on them are wonderful. From building their confidence up to creating a new, anonymous identity online and getting validation, they gain so much from this app. But that’s where secrecy can sometimes come back and bite you. I was immersed in the story from the off and whizzed through it. Ella is a lovely person, and I just wanted to hug her and loads of encouragement! Dan is a true sweetheart, too. A gentleman with so much to give but so much anxiety within that he cannot see his true worth. And I love the ending, but no spoilers here! I will say that the urge to rush to my phone and open up a certain singing app was strong! Not for the romance but because music and singing are so healing. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
It's got elements of You've Got Mail while at the centre of it is a singing app.
And its this app that both Ella and Dan find themselves signed up to and interacting through.
While at the same time, we get to know them in person too, and their highs and lows, as well as when they meet each other.
Both sets of interactions really warmed my heart and I I loved the concept of this app and of a social media form that actually has supportive people on it.
An all round entertaining story and one that was my first, but surely not my last encounter with this author's writing.
Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This was easy to read, fun, and heartwarming. I really liked the friendships in this book. Izzy in particular was a great character.
The inclusion of popular music and singing really adds something to the story. I could almost hear their voices.
The story felt fresh and unique, something I've not exactly seen before. The wedding dress shop made a good setting with lots of opportunities for vivid descriptions and moments to learn more about our characters.
This was such a fun and entertaining read! I adored the concept of two shy and quiet characters meeting via a singing app. It was fascinating watching them both build up their confidence by singing incognito. Ella is a lovely character who I could easily identify with. She struggles to go out and meet new people, preferring to stay in with her cat for company. So seeing her throw herself into the singing app and new role at work was really inspiring. Dan has his own issues, his past has caused him anxiety and he too struggles with making new friendships. He comes across as a really dependable person and I soon was rooting for him. I enjoy books that are linked to music, and I really love a will they won’t they trope, so this fantastic book was right up my street! Such a lovely book that was the right mix of romance and friendship, with a musical background that was fun to read about. Two wonderfully quirky and likeable characters taking a chance on a musical journey, and finding more than they expected along the way!
Dan and Ella both join a singing app both of them carrying trauma. Dan has quit the boyband he was in and Ella is still getting over a divorce. Through this app though Dan and Ella can be anyone they want to be and that gives them the freedom to sing to their hearts content. I absolutely love this book and when both Ella and Dan signed up to the app I was dying for them to start contacting each other and I was not disappointed. I loved the back and forward both pov and how they eventually meet by complete chance through Dan decorating and Ella wanting the bridal shop she works at to be decorated. They instantly have a connection and when dan eventually knows Ella is shy girl he continues to sing with her. Watching them slowly fall in love and overcome their barriers was fun and I really enjoyed this light easy read. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

An absolutely gorgeous read. Shy Ella works in a wedding dress shop, Dan is a painter but that wasn’t his first job. The idea of a singing app was a genius concept and I loved seeing Ella come out of her shell and conquer her shyness. Dan is hiding his identity and his previous career. When they duet together they make sweet music but are they destined to meet or remain anonymous? Beautiful characters, fabulous song choices and a dreamy romance.
Music and lyrics is one of my all time favorites so the idea and premise of this book had me hooked before reading. I absolutely loved how both the characters developed and the second half of it particularly had me excited to see how it would all turn out. I laughed out loud, this was such a sweet read. Can't wait to read more from the author.
What a fab feel good story. There were a few bits where the editors/publishers had missed out words/used incorrect words, didn’t detract from the story though. Definitely recommend this if you want a feel good story
