Enemy Boss is a full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger. A brilliantly written story with world building characters and a fascinating storyline that captures your attention from the first. Max and her best friend Harriet and some others went to club. Harriet had met a man who she was stuck to and getting some tongue action so she wasn't leaving. She wanted to blame him for falling but knows that it was his fault. She tried going down again she noticed that he wasn't going up but instead was watching her going down she twisted her ankle away and he was there to catch her again. He throw her over his shoulder and proceeded to walk to his car. Max was very attracted but was acted as if she didn't want him and felt the magnetism between him. When she asked him where he was taking he tells her that he was taking her home to give her the best orgasm that she had ever had in her life.
Cullen and Max had a night of mind-blowing passion which was best for both of them. But when Max wakes in the morning she wanted to leave before Cullen wake up because she didn't want to go through the awkwardness of a one night stand the morning after. She didn't know the proper etiquette of those things since she had never done that before. However, as she sneak out he wakes and ask her if she was going to leave without telling him. She tells him that she didn't wanted to wake him up. The two gets in an argument when he accused her of regularly doing a one night stand with random strangers and basically call her slut for not owning up to her ways. She got mad and left because he was insulting and she thought they had a connection. Cullen thought that she was stuck up the way she acted, sex with Max was the best that he have ever had and he wanted to see her again even though he knows that she probably doesn't want to see him again.
He hired a private investigator to find her, one who can find anyone. He even went back to the same club hoping that he may run into her again. Max was in an abusive relationship and she had to quit her good job and move away from her apartment because her ex-boyfriend was stalking her. Cullen and Max mother use to work together and his mom cares about Max. One day his mom called him at her house for brunch where she had cooked all his favorite food. She asked him if he could do her a favor by giving her friend's daughter a job. Cullen didn't want to because his company, ITSafe is a professional company that helps other companies with cyber protection and it's not something where he can just employ anyone. He tells his mom that he can't afford to just hand out jobs like that. His clients rely on the company to deliver a certain level of service and if he have people around him that know their jobs properly, or the whole thing can fsll apart in mere minutes. Because his secretary was getting ready to go on maternity leave soon and he was looking for replacement his mom convinced him to hire her and that she was was qualified because she was a PA to a CEO at her pervious job. He tells his mom to have her show up at nine thirty Monday morning.
Fast forward one year later, Lucy Granger a.k.a. Max show up to her appointment at ITSAFE and asked for the CEO. She was shocked when she saw that it was CEO was Cullen. Cullen could not believe it when she walked in and he wanted to know why she gave him a fake name. But she tells him that it was her nickname. He gave her the job and tells his secretary to train her. If Max knew that it was Cullen's company she would have never showed up. But the fact that she's almost absolutely broke and not being able to even make rent, she would've turned around and walked out. To make matters worse she still fancy him. Max has been out to a club but being sober is no fun so she decides to leave. The club has a long line of stairs and she is in a pair of high heels. While trying to walk down the stairs she slips but doesn’t fall down because a man catches her. Cullen introduces himself to her and she introduces herself to him. They end up going to Cullen’s place where they end up having sex. The sex is fantastic for both of them but Max leaves before Cullen wakes in the morning. Cullen is the CEO of ITSafe a company who helps with cyber protection. Cullen and his brother Liam are in a club and Cullen is looking for Max but she isn’t there. Cullen thinks that Max is a snob and not a good person. One year later Cullen is having lunch with his mother, she fixed his favorite so he knows that she wants at something. She tells him that her best friend’s daughter Lucy has just left an abusive relationship and needs a job. Cullen agrees to help interview her for the assistant position that is opening because his assistant is going on maternity leave. Max goes to the interview and is surprised to see Cullen. She thinks he is a jerk and that he is pompous. Cullen tells Max that he will hire her on a temporary basis. It doesn’t start out well when Max makes a mistake and Cullen comes unglued, he raises his hands to his face but Max flinches because of her last relationship. Cullen eventually realizes that she didn’t make a mistake and he apologizes. They eventually had sex again. Max and her best friend Harriet and another friend go to a club. As Max is dancing she sees Cullen walking across the dance floor to get to her. He has brought Liam with him and they all sit down for a drink. Cullen takes Max back to his place and he tells Max that she is now his. Cullen and Max are working on a proposal for a job that Cullen wants. Cullen was tipped off about McPherson Financial Solutions opening up for outside contractors for cyber security. The meeting is set for Cullen and Max to present their proposal, Cullen realized that his second laptop was dead and Max offered to record the meeting and transcribe the notes later. Max and Cullen have been together for about four months so when Cullen gets a call from a competitor informing him that Max sent him the proposal for McPherson. Cullen and Max had engaged in vigorous sex that morning and Cullen had told Max to take half a day off. When Max got in to the office she saw a note from Cullen asking her to come to his office as soon as she got in. Max only uses Lucy for work never Max. Cullen couldn’t believe that Max would betray him and he wouldn’t listen to Max when she denied doing anything. Cullen fired her and broke up with her and told her to get out now. Will Max be heartbroken? Is Ross involved in getting Max fired? Will Ross come after Max? Will Cullen finally realize that he was wrong about Max betraying him? Will Cullen come to save Max? Will Cullen and Max find love and happiness after the supposed betrayal?

Okay, overall, I think this book had a lot going for it, and it could have been really great. The writing is good and the plot is decent, but the author failed to redeem Cullen in ANY way, IMO. Just because he saves Max in a moment of distress doesn't solve the tox*c problems with his personality or the abhorrent way he treated her from the night they met. He literally called her a liar EVERY SINGLE TIME something went wrong and blamed her, accused her, and treated her poorly with NO conversation or effort to 1. listen, or 2. investigate, or 3. just figure out what else might have been going on. He only apologized to her ONE TIME for being a delulu jack*ss to her and only because he happened to realize he'd been mistaken the whole time. But he was mistaken every single time he called her a liar, yelled at her, or accused her unfairly of anything, and he never made amends in any way beyond "saving" her from a bad situation. The author clearly intended to get the HEA but I don't buy; he's not the same as her ex, but he's clearly not a safe partner for her emotionally and the fact that the author gave them no time to work out those issues before they were moving in together and "living happily ever after" doesn't make this story at all believable, IMO. It would have just taken a few conversations and extra pages to show he'd learned his lessons and changed, but we don't get, so I don't buy this story. It's a NO for me.

She’s a quick learner in the business operations & Cullen is harsh with her at work. Outside of work, they get to know each other on a personal level. Having this understanding, their initial hatred of each other has shifted into loving every moment they are together. Her abusive ex-boyfriend, Ross, refuses to accept she left him so he finds her & causes trouble for her. Cullen believes she is sending confidential business info to the competition. Jumping to conclusions, he fires her immediately, insisting she take her belongings out of his place & turfs her out of his life. This is an emotionally-charged romance where he crushes her dreams & her heart from ever having a HEA with him. Can these two find their way back together again for a second chance or is the ‘one and done’ relationship? A very interesting romantically hot story-line with plenty of drama & twists also. This one is worth reading!

This is Cullen and Max's steamy one-night stand, office romance. Cullen and Max meet at a club where he saves her from falling and breaking her neck because of her sky high heels. They had great chemistry and they hit it off Max was definitely attracted to the gorgeous man so she goes home with Cullen. They shared an incredible evening together and the next morning instead of exchanging numbers they argued after Cullen more or less calls her a slut. Max stormed out thinking that she'll never see him again. Only she isn't that lucky because when she interviews for a new job Cullen is the boss. Cullen can't believe the woman that he can't get off his mind just walked into his office. Of course he hires her which leads them on an intriguing journey full of page-turning twists and turns. You really need to read this steamy one-night stand, office romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Steamy Office romance. I loved the initial meeting between Max & Cullen when she trips down the stairs at a nightclub. Their falling out the next morning is amusing when he presumes she is a ’good time girl’ for being up for their one-night stand. This seems to be it until a mix-up over her name versus her nickname sometime later causes Max to employ her as cover for his PA’s maternity leave as a favour to a relative. I loved the way the chemistry quickly ramps up between them after the initial shock for both of them experience at their reacquaintance. Misunderstandings in the office, engineered by an unexpected outside influence, threaten their HEA. I really liked the pace of the story and the main characters; but would warn readers that there are possible triggers in the last few chapters with domestic violence. A good read nonetheless .

Cullen is not able to forget Max.When Max turns up for an interview at Cullen's company they are both shocked.
The chemistry is still there,but their dislike for each other is still there after their fallout.
They eventually end up giving into their chemistry and start to get closer.
There is drama and angst between them which causes heartbreak.They get to a sweet happily ever after.
It was a good start then slowed down a bit after that i could not put it down and had to finish it.
There was humour,tears,steam,friendships,
family,angst,drama,romance and a happily ever after.

This was one of those books that you read and can't put down even though you see the train wreck headed your way. Cullen and Max can't seem to catch a break. They have fantastic chemistry but he seems to always jump to the wrong conclusions about her. Max is being stalked by a crazy ex-boyfriend. Just as they start to get solid in their relationship the ex-boyfriend causes major damage and Cullen fires her without a second thought and kicks her out of his place. Her heart is broken until the ex-boyfriend shows up and then she becomes terrified. Cullen has to save her and take back his hateful words.

This has a great storyline and the characters have intense chemistry. Max (Lucy) and Cullen meet at a club and after saving her from a fall they go to Cullen's house. They have an incredible night together but in the morning they fight and he calls her a slut. After leaving she never wants to see him again. Max arrives for her interview and finds Cullen will be her new boss. She's hired and they have plenty of twists and turns. Things are working out until Max's ex who's been stalking her. Cullen still thinks the worst of Max. You need to read it, find out what happens, and if Max makes him cringe and grovel. I enjoyed this story very much.

The next morning doesn't go well, and they go their own ways without sharing numbers. Max goes to interview for a job, and this has her back in Cullen's sights because he would be her new boss. Sparks fly between them and its not long before they give into each other. Max's ex shows up and causes trouble between her and Cullen. Will she lose Cullen because of her ex? Will they get a chance to be together?
This is an amazing story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Cullen saved Max from falling down the stairs, then the attraction was so much they find themselves in bed. Unfortunately Max gets the impression that Cullen thinks she is easy but in denial, and leaves. Cullen keeps thinking about her, but he has no way of finding her. When they cross paths again, Cullen is her boss, will it end in heartache? Or can they work it out this time? Will Max's past come knocking and endanger her? I loved the passion between Cullen and Max, and how they get to each other but still desire each other, although Cullen should have more trust in Max.

Wowsa this book will definitely have you engrossed from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows throughout the book. It's a enemies to lovers romance and so much more. Cullen and max meet outside a night club and have a one night stand and then it ended bad. Now he is doing his mom a favor and interviewing a woman for receptionist but when he sees who it is will he give her a chance? Or will her stalker ex get to her first? Great story with all the right feels and so much more.

Her hopes of never seeing him again are dashed when she starts her new job & he is her boss. Cullen and Maxine. They have a one night stand that is sizzling but they decide not to see each other again. Their chemistry is great but he always thinks the worst of her. So many misunderstandings between them. Then she becomes his assistant as a favor to his mom. Her ex is stalking her and caused trouble for her and Cullen thinks she is selling corporate info to the competition and fires her on the spot. So many misconceptions and misunderstanding. Loved their turbulent story.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book, considering how it started. Cullen certainly rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't happy with how he acted in the beginning. However, the story actually ended up being surprisingly good. I didn't expect it to take the route it did. I was thinking it was going to be an "eh" grumpy boss/employee book. Instead, it had some thrilling suspense I wasn't expecting, and the last chunk of the book was definitely a can't put me down section. By the end, I was exceptionally pleased with how it turned out.

I've read a lot of books written by Iona Rose; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
She has written another good stand-alone book. The story is about Max & Cullen; she’s out at the club, he catches her when she almost falls because of her heels. They end up spending the night together but get into an argument the next morning; later they realize she is his new assistant.

This is a well written office romance with strong characters in Max and Cullen. The author does a great job developing their story and pulled me in with all the danger and abusive past. Add in the steam and she delivers a terrific read.

Enemy Boss is a wonderful book. Max (Lucy) and Cullen are a perfect match. The chemistry they have is spicy. Once I started reading this book I had a hard time putting it down. They have obstacles they must overcome to get to their HEA. I would recommend reading this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Loved this book! Cullen and max had one hot night together then she left now a year later she's back in his life. Will they be able to keep their hands off each other? Will he give her a happy ever after?.

Lucy and Cullen's story has humour, drama and unexpected twists following the one night they spent together. They had no plans to meet again but found themselves working together.
Their road to happiness wasn't smooth, but they are perfect for each other, their chemistry is palpable and overall I enjoyed this sometimes emotional story.

one night stand that ended up being a disaster for Max and Cullen, for that reason they thought it was fine that they would not see each other again, but fate put them together when he interviews her for a job. Between these two the situation is getting complicated but they manage to overcome all the bad until reaching a good end.

A very enjoyable story with plenty of spicy chemistry. The attraction was believable right from the start. The captivating interactions helped fuel my curiosity and interest in seeing where the author would take these characters. I enjoyed every second of this book.

An entertaining enemies to lovers/office romance, Max and Cullen have plenty of chemistry between them that leads to all sorts of drama and misunderstandings. Cullen is the worst, really terrible to Max for majority of the book, however the heart wants what if wants and Max wants him.

The author has given us a heart pounding story that pulls us into the lives of Max/Lucy and Cullen. The story keeps us turning the pages with connection, fears, an abusive past, danger and steam.
