A lazy drawl. A lean, hard body. He was every Yankee girl's dream. And he had the uncanny knack of appearing just when Bridget Taylor needed rescuing from the perils of Texas wildlife! Soon she wondered if the real peril of Texas was Jeremy Robert Winsome--determined to capture her heart with his own special Southern charm.
From the moment he met this delightful yet downright stubborn Yankee Snow bird, J.R. vowed to make the South so warm and cozy that she'd never fly back North. Would his kisses and promise of love turn her into a true Texan--forever?
Lass Small (September 15, 1923-January 26, 2011) was an American writer of over 60 romance novels from 1983 to 2000. She also signed her novelas as Cally Hughes and Callie Hugher.
I enjoyed reading this book. Normally I'm not a big fan of the similar romance type books, but this one was different, maybe because on the cover it said it was western. I thought it was very well written and a great story line. However, I was a bit disappointed with how it ended, it seemed to have ended with Bridget finally agreeing to be with J.R. I was kind of hoping that since it was mentioned early on in the book and then brought up again later about how Bridget's mother and two younger brothers would be down for the holidays that the book would have went through them coming down and meeting J.R. and possibly a wedding or something. I guess I just wasn't ready for it to end. I would definitely recommend to those who like romance stories and those who like the western feel of things.

Starts out like a lighthearted joke, but if you stick with it, you will grow to like JR's character and all the outrageous flirty things he says. Reads like a fairy tale, so set expectations accordingly.
