I received this book from the author and the Paranormal, Fantasy, Dystopia and Romance Reader, Writers and Reviewers Group in exchange for a honest review.
My Thoughts: I really liked this book. I would describe it as a science fiction romance with an alpha hero (reminded me of Lynda Chance's alpha heroes) who is so caring and protective of the heroine that he will do whatever he can to see that she and her family are safe. I will admit that some of the background of the hero and the explanation of the universe sort of confused me, but it did not distract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I definitely will read the next book in the series. This book was unlike anything I have read before.
The Hero: Darrien Stathos is a business mogul and reputed lord of the worldwide underworld known as Kairos. Sometimes, he is called Lord Kairos. There are widespread rumors as to what he really is, but they are all wrong. In reality, he is an entity from another universe with considerable powers. There are numerous echo universes. Mages can open portals to travel between echo universes. Resonantiae are beings that have traveled from echo universes to Earth. Darrien rules over the Resonantiae. He keeps the more dangerous ones in line and also makes sure that humans are never aware of their presence. He also helps Resonantiae who need protection.
The Story: Avery Morgan(heroine)is planning to go out with her friends for her birthday. Her estranged father is deep into debt with gambling. As she is getting ready, men with guns burst into their home and claim that her little sister Ella is to come with them as payment for her father's gambling debt. As this is happening, in comes our hero Darrien Stathos and his men with guns drawn. Darrien gets rid of the other men and has Avery, Ella, and their mother Emily come with him. Darrien is there to collect Avery. Avery's father had sold her to Darrien two years ago. Darrien has been waiting for her to grow up, but because of these circumstances his hand is forced into acting earlier.
Avery is separated from her mother and sister. She pretty much accepts her fate as long as they are safe. She has secretly had a crush on Darrien Stathos. Her friends teased her about this. He is not what she expected at all. He is kind and protective towards her. He takes her to eat and an assassin tries to kill him. It is then that she begins to think that things are not as they seem. After a few days, she meets him at his office and another assassin tries to kill him. Avery witnesses the whole thing and now Darrien is forced to tell her who he really is. They do get their HEA in the end after some twists and turns.
The rest of the story deals with Darrien and Avery's relationship. Also, Avery's hidden nature is revealed and the mystery of why the assassins have come to Earth is solved.
Overall, a great science fiction romance with great characters and a plot that kept you guessing.

This book was a page-turner for me...especially towards the end. I stayed up late reading.
It's science fiction. It deals with alternate universes...people traveling from one two another. It was a bit confusing for me. Went over my head a bit, but I could follow for the most part. Well...what I'll say is my confusion over the deep thought stuff didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story.
I'm not sure how I feel about the romantic relationship in the book.
What happens is Avery's younger sister is threatened by some awful people who want to use her as a sex slave. A rich and powerful business man (Darrien) who is rumored to be either a crime lord, vampire, or demon comes and rescues them. There's a catch though. Avery has to come live with him now. It's as if Avery becomes his property. He kisses her and it seems kind of forced on her; though she doesn't fight back. Later he has sex with her, and it's as if she has no choice in the matter. She doesn't fight it. Nor does she seem to feel it's really wrong. It's like she's accepted her fate of being owned by this man.
I respect Avery's choice to be okay with it all, but it made me like Darrien a little less.

I would like to thank the author for providing me with a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.The book is about Avery Morgan, an eighteen year old college student working hard to take care of her mother and little sister Ella.One day a bunch of men force their way into her house.Apparently her father(such a douche bag) owes lot of money to this guy called Hayes and he had made Ella as the collateral.As she tries to protect her sister Darrien Stathos arrives and saves the day.
But hey, he is no knight in shining armor.He is rumored to be the lord of the criminal underworld known as "Kairos".But the catch is that she is now owned by Darrien. Apparently her dad had sold Avery to him.He takes her to his penthouse where she will be living from now.Her mom and her sister are also appropriately housed.She is terrified of Darrien at first but slowly comes to understand that he has her best interests in mind.He considers her special and provides her with everything that she needs.She slowly begins to trust him.
But there is something different about him also.He is not entirely human.There are also many otherworldly-looking assassins trying to kill him.As she tries to make sense of her new reality she begins to discover new truths that may destroy her world.
I loved the story and its concepts.It is so different from the normal sci-fi or paranormal books you find in the market.The explanations given by the author for the Multiverse and different parallel universes is mindblowing. The secondary characters are also very good.Ella is such a sweet little angel.Her friends Angie,Micah,Sara and Kyle are very loyal and supportive.
Darrien was such an enigma.Even till the end you couldn't get a feel of his real character.Though he is not all macho and Alpha he is still very protective of Avery.You definitely don't want to get on his bad side.The story behind his true identity is so complex and original.
The only problem that I probably had with this book was the writing.I would have loved to have read it in first person POV. But I wont blame the author as this is her debut novel.I am sure it will improve over the course of many books.I just wished she hadn't referred to Darrien as "the older man" and Avery as the "teen" in many places.It kind of irked me.

as the server cleared their used dishes just so she wouldn’t feel

couches in the room that faced the wall of windows. He picked up
the tablet she had left on the coffee table earlier and used it to
dim the lights almost completely."

teen just how far they had strayed from her initial question."
But in the end it was very enjoyable and I loved it.Can't wait to read the next book!!

Avery, her sister Elle and her mother are home when there;s heavy knocking on the door. Before they can bolt down their rabbit hole, the doors are knocked down and lots of men with guns enter along with her father. Seems that her father owes lots of money to the wrong people and to repay he;s offered them his 10 year old daughter to them. Then another man arrives, Kairos, and after some tense moments, Avery along with her sister and mother leave with Kairos. He has waited for Avery for two years since her father offered her to him in payment for his debts. For Avery what comes next is so alien and out of all human contact that her life feels like a science fiction story.
WOW!! This story will draw you in and keep you totally mesmerized as the story unfolds.

I find it very hard to express in words my thoughts on this story as it was
different from what I usually read.
I loved the stories of the Elven realm that the author has written under her other
name Cristina Rayne, but this series dealt with concepts that I found hard to grasp.
The story moved at a good pace and had lots of plot intrigues. I probably wouldn't have
been as confused if I was more familiar with quantum physics and such matters.
Overall I was able to get wrapped up in the story and I look forward to reading the
next in the series to get some answers to the questions I have.

A young girl is beginning to live with a man who is said dto be the crime lord of her town on her 18th birthday to protect her sister and mother. But things are very different from what they seem. Reality changes for her and her friends and family in a short time, while they go through threatening situations and life altering experiences.

This story has been something else. It starts out easy then gets crazy real fast. Who would do something like that to there kid. I don't want to say to much and give away something. The story is so good. At first I didn't think that it would be good, then it turned into and awesome story. It is unbelievably awesome. I was to lazy to check it out about the name Kairos, but if the explanation is anything like it is in the book. Yeah baby, Yeah!! Crazy out of this world good book. This was a very interesting book that takes place in multiple universes so not one that is on my normal reading list but I though why not. This is a very engaging read but I found it slightly lacking. I do feel there is definitely room for improvement and will be very interesting the reading the next installment

This was a fantastic book!! I am a sucker for urban fantasies! There is so much room to think completely outside the box! And The Supreme Moment is far outside of the box! The book is really well written with the potential of a lot more novels being developed from this world created! I loved it and would keep my eyes peeled for more!

This is the first time I have ever read anything from this author Cristina Rayne. I am so glad I did it has a lot of twist and turns all threw this story. As the story unfolds I start to love the strong characters and the story is wonderful to read. I can not wait to see what is coming next.

This book is another take on multiverse reading, and I give the authors credit for this book. I found parts of this book were a bit long winded. But the story itself was very imaginative. Give this book a try it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I did enjoy it.

I absolutely loved this book! Avery was so lucky to be rescued from her despicable father's depraved plots, by Lord Darien, whose chivalry, humanity and the fact that he loves her, overwhelms his dark side. Great reading! A bit winded, but thoroughly imaginative read from this set of authors. It was an intriguing but difficult read, especially at the beginning. I felt for her because she was trying to do something to help her family and basically sacrificed herself to do so. A good book.

Well, this one is definitely a big surprise of fun! I am going to say it’s a mix of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, and it’s probably in the New Adult group. I loved it. AND it’s fresh, creative, and a wonderful new world to consider! So, you start with an 18 year old girl at the end of her high school career, with great friends, a very awesome little sister, a slightly too passive and emotional mother, and piece of crap of a father, and a supernatural being…. Let’s throw in some crazy intergalactic bad guys, and mysteries, and BOOM we have some serious awesomeness to go right along! And that supernatural being will throw you for a loop every time. I have to say, that I wasn’t expecting the things that happened to happen. I love unpredictability!!
Ok, let’s start with Avery. She’s a damn fine young lady! She works really hard at school, then works really hard at home to help her mom and sister, then works really hard to help pay the bills. Her scum of a father has left her family in a lot of gambling debt, ran off, then came back to use his daughters as leverage to clear his debt. I seriously want to kill that man. I also kind of want to slap her mother sometimes, though she is a good mom, and I’ll get that in a minute. Avery is strong, and brave, and smart, though sometimes like a typical teenager, very impulsive. She’s also kind hearted, and loyal to her friends, and such an interesting character. She also has a lot to scare her, so I can’t wait to see her grow from the end of this first book.
As sides, she has 4 best friends, her mother, and her little sister. Her little sister is my favorite, as a 10 year old, I swear she’s the smartest out of everybody! I loved Ella! HA! She’s cute, and sweet, and also sometimes a typical child who gets overjoyed by the simplistic things in life, even after some seriously tragic events that she witnesses. Her friends are awesome. Even after having several traumatic things happen, they still have Avery’s back and that’s just awesome! I kept expecting them to get smart, or life preserving, and jet out. And they are still here! Now her mother…. She’s a good mom. She works hard, she talks to her kids, she tries to protect them…. BUT, when it comes down to the wire, Avery makes all the hard, gritty, life saving choices. And yes it’s because she’s special, BUT, dammit, my momma would have opened a can of whoop ass and went postal, several times. HA. Alright, now, I do see some of her reasonings, one being that I think she’s literally about to have a mental break down, BUT FIGHT FOR YOUR KIDS! LOL Ok, now with that little rant, she’s a very loving, affectionate, caring mother. I know she only wants what’s best for Avery, but instead of bitching, moaning, and making others uncomfortable around you, you should actually DO something. Avery takes a lot of her mother’s issues as a burden and this just kind of makes me mad. :)
Now, for the big MAN! LOL Darrien Strathos, AKA KAIROS… Let me explain a few things. Darrien is his human name. He’s a big time business man, who owns a lot, and he’s also rumored to be some powerful mafia type leader that they secretly call Kairos. When I read this at first, I kept thinking of them being the same being… But they aren’t. I’m not saying they are different people, per say, but they aren’t the same. Darrien is one, and Kairos is the other. Now to understand that, you need to read the book ;) Darrien is actually sweet, and very affectionate, and caring, and a wonder of a man. Kairos scares me a little, but fascinates me all the same. And love can do some strange things to people. This is the perfect bad boy turned good guy :) I am really really excited to see where he is going to grow from book one to book two. I want more of him ;)
The ending is going to throw you for another loop, which isn’t your typical HEA BUT it’s not a bad ending either. I think it leave the PERFECT opening for the next book. The writing is great. As a debut novel, this is fantastic. I will say the explanations of Kairos, his world, his being concept is a little hard to grasp, maybe because I hated physics and chemistry, but I love biology so I caught on what I needed to LOL Yes, it’s a little complex, but it’s still wonderful because it’s not something I’ve even come close to reading about. I really can’t wait for so much more. I hope you will all look into this new author, as she has something great on her hands! 5 MIND BLOWING GALAXY WEAVING PAWS!

When I read this at first, I kept thinking of them being the same being… But they aren’t. I’m not saying they are different people, per say, but they aren’t the same. Darrien is one, and Kairos is the other. Now to understand that, you need to read the book ;) Darrien is actually sweet, and very affectionate, and caring, and a wonder of a man. Kairos scares me a little, but fascinates me all the same. And love can do some strange things to people. This is the perfect bad boy turned good guy :) I am really really excited to see where he is going to grow from book one to book two. I want more of him ;)
The ending is going to throw you for another loop, which isn’t your typical HEA BUT it’s not a bad ending either. I think it leave the PERFECT opening for the next book. The writing is great. As a debut novel, this is fantastic. I will say the explanations of Kairos, his world, his being concept is a little hard to grasp, maybe because I hated physics and chemistry, but I love biology so I caught on what I needed to LOL Yes, it’s a little complex, but it’s still wonderful because it’s not something I’ve even come close to reading about. I really can’t wait for so much more. I hope you will all look into this new author, as she has something great on her hands! 5 MIND BLOWING GALAXY WEAVING PAWS!

I would like to thank the author for providing me with a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.The book is about Avery Morgan, an eighteen year old college student working hard to take care of her mother and little sister Ella.One day a bunch of men force their way into her house.Apparently her father(such a douche bag) owes lot of money to this guy called Hayes and he had made Ella as the collateral.As she tries to protect her sister Darrien Stathos arrives and saves the day.
But hey, he is no knight in shining armor.He is rumored to be the lord of the criminal underworld known as "Kairos".But the catch is that she is now owned by Darrien. Apparently her dad had sold Avery to him.He takes her to his penthouse where she will be living from now.Her mom and her sister are also appropriately housed.She is terrified of Darrien at first but slowly comes to understand that he has her best interests in mind.He considers her special and provides her with everything that she needs.She slowly begins to trust him.
But there is something different about him also.He is not entirely human.There are also many otherworldly-looking assassins trying to kill him.As she tries to make sense of her new reality she begins to discover new truths that may destroy her world.
I loved the story and its concepts.It is so different from the normal sci-fi or paranormal books you find in the market.The explanations given by the author for the Multiverse and different parallel universes is mindblowing. The secondary characters are also very good.Ella is such a sweet little angel.Her friends Angie,Micah,Sara and Kyle are very loyal and supportive.
Darrien was such an enigma.Even till the end you couldn't get a feel of his real character.Though he is not all macho and Alpha he is still very protective of Avery.You definitely don't want to get on his bad side.The story behind his true identity is so complex and original.
The only problem that I probably had with this book was the writing.I would have loved to have read it in first person POV. But I wont blame the author as this is her debut novel.I am sure it will improve over the course of many books.I just wished she hadn't referred to Darrien as "the older man" and Avery as the "teen" in many places.It kind of irked me.

I received a copy of this book through Goodreads First reads Giveaways in return for a honest review.
From the second that I picked up this book, I couldn't help but why the author decided on the title of "The Supreme Moment." It was a such a different sort of phrase, one that you wouldn't quite expect to be a title of a book. I won't say what it means for it will spoil a lot of fun to be had in this book. Still I will not deny that it is part of what sucked me into the story in the first place.
Now on to the story, immediately we dive into the action with armed men coming for Avery, our main character's, dead-beat dad. Apparently her father had agreed to give them her younger sister in return for his gambling debt. So they were there to collect, but before they have a chance to a man by the name of Darrien Stathos arrives on the scene. He is a well-known figure in this world, a supposed crime boss who owned many clubs. So when he claimed to have a prior contract with the father for Avery, the other men backed down. Understandably, she is more that a little bit freaked out by all of this, but at least her family is now safe from those thugs. So in return for going with him, Darrien saw that the rest of her family is taken care of.
The more that she got to know Darrien, the more curious she couldn't help but getting. Over time, she will find out that he is unlike anything or anybody she has ever has ever met. And this is not just from a romantic standpoint. Darrien is a kind and quite possessive man and yet there is this interesting mysterious air about him. I won't go more into that but trust me it is a treat when you find out what he is as well as where Avery exactly fit into everything.
All in all this was a very great read. The only thing that I really have to nit-pick on is how fast Avery falls for Darrien. I mean one moment she is essentially his to do with whatever and the next she is willingly sleeping with the guy, letting herself fall for him. In my own opinion, I think that it might have been better to have Avery warm up to Darrien first before pushing their relationship to the next level. However this is just a small detail which does not detract from the overall fun of the book.
In the end, I am very much looking forwards to the next book in the series. I can't wait to see what happens.

Different, unusual, very interesting.
I would definitely recommend this book for sci-fi/magic fans wanting to read something different.
I received it in exchange for an honest review and give it a 3,5 - 4 stars.
It was not what I expected but I really did enjoy the read.
I tried to guess what Kairos was. Vampire? Demon? Other being? The truth of his origin was far more complex and elaborate than what I could have guessed. Where in God's name do some authors find their inspiration and ideas? I can say C.G Garcia has a vivid imagination!
What I liked (among other things) is the distinction between the feelings (or lack of) experienced by Kairos on one hand and Avery on the other hand.
Avery is a very brave girl when defending her loved ones. She is selfless, self sacrifying and so, so scared. She is terrified of Kairos at first, having heard all the gossips about him being the Lord of the crime world. Then she fears for her family and friend's safety when her life is swarming with enemies.
She often feels powerless. Avery does not know where she stands with Kairos. She comes to rely on him, seeking his protection but it's not instant or blossoming love for her "captor/knight" as you find in other books. It's only a good way in the book before she realises more clearly what her feelings for Kairos are. I usually enjoy a good ol'romance but this was a nice change too. Something other. Something new to me.
Kairos is also a very interesting character. Not weak but not Ubber Alpha either. He is very protective of Avery, she is his "treasure" and he does not intend to let her leave. He is sometimes commending but also encouraging her to have her own friends, go out with them and enjoy herself. He wants her to be happy even if she was forced into the relationship.
He is an old soul but at the same time a real kid briming with enthousiasm while rediscovering pleasures (of all kind) with Avery. He was probably lonely and is happy to share the beauty of life with her.
You'll also find twists and turns throughout the book.
The only "criticism" if I can even call it so is the complexity of this universe's explanations. I had some difficulties here and there to grasp all the intricacies. And even if it's not an unhappy ending, it's not your classic HEA either. Once again, an alternative path the author deliberately chose.
A truly imaginative and unconventional read.

This book was very good with romance and had a different take with multiple universes.
When I first read the beginning, it was really exciting. We first meet Avery who is a very hardworking and selfless girl who provides for her family. I admired that about her character and was easily relatable. I also thought she was tough when she was trying to protect her family from Hayes. She was also smart about most of her choices and didn't make those irritating ones such as waiting for explanations later. Instead she said, I want them now because in movies and books something bad always happens if you don't. I was like Yasss!!!. Another thing is that she decided to tell her friends a secret and it made me so happy they accepted it. The mother was really annoying though, I get that I'd be worried about Avery if she was someone's property but lady it's way better than having Ella with Hayes so shut up!
The introduction to the world of Darrien Stathos flowed very well and wouldn't want it any other way. I like that he was very patient with her and took care of her and her family while trying to save the world. The romance between the two was very sensual and it was very captivating how Avery gradually begins to love Darrien.
About 50% of the book it started becoming more science fiction and the romance faded. I know this a science fiction book but in the beginning the romance was very present and then it kinda went away leaving me disappointed. Also the explanations of the multiverse just had me really confused. Overall I enjoyed this book, there was a lot of action and events were rolling, not dragging at all. But it was the explanations of the multiverse that kinda bore me and had me skipping a few pages.

This book was really interesting story-wise, good characters, original backdrop. Can't say I could really follow all of it multiverse-wise, but then I read the whole thing in one sitting and forgot to sleep.
Another thing that kept throwing me off was the viewpoints. It wasn't exactly first person, or second or thirth, it was all and it was constantly whiplashing between them and that was very annoying at times.

The other thing that really didn't click with me was the teen-thing. I get that it really doesn't actually make the age difference better with one part of the couple being so damn old, if you make the younger one a twenty something instead of a teen. But constanly referring to her as a teen makes the couple dynamic really weird in my eyes. Especially with as unbalanced a relationship as this one (with her basically not having a choice in sleeping with him).
It also really doesn't have a HEA, and I'm irationally attached to HEA's in the books I read. Since it has the potential for one in the future Ican live with that, but review-wise I thought I just mention that.
So mixed ideas about this one, but it was interesting at least.
EDIT: I'm reading the book for the second time now and the Same things that annoyed the Hell out of me the first time still apply. I Have adjusted to the multiple point of view things, but if it wasn't an ebook, I would Have gladly taken a red marker to the page by now. I'm seriously thinking about tallying the amount of times she uses the words "the teen", "the older man" and "the crime Lord" and even see if I can't do a bit of a re-write for personal use by changing them to "she", "he" and "Darrien". I"m pretty sure that if I do a straight up substitution like that, the book becomes infinately more enjoyable.

Entertaining, but extremely racy for a YA, at least at first.
The Supreme Moment is about a young girl named Avery who is faced with an impossible choice. She chooses the lesser of two evils and allows herself to be claimed by a mysterious crime lord in exchange for the safety and protection of her mother and sister. Darrien Stathos is a frightening man, pale, with mismatched, disturbing eyes, and he's had both of them on Avery for quite some time.
At first the story seems paranormal romance (almost erotica, definitely for the 18 and up crowd). Then, the bad guys start multiplying, and the danger grows; but as the danger grows, the romance fades into the background. I stopped feeling it right about 30% in. It was a little disappointing. That first part of the story was very emotionally intense, then it suddenly wasn't. I'm not saying the rest wasn't good, it just seemed the book switched genres.
As for the romance, I would have liked to see a little more reason for Avery to begin to return Darrien's love, but mostly she just seems grateful and creeped out in turn, even as she seems to become more attached. Darrien is constantly referred to as an older man and a crime lord, and I frequently wished he would simply be called Darrien instead. Like Avery, I had trouble deciding whether to like Darrien or dislike him.
Overall, I thought the story was fairly good. The beginning in particular kept me on edge and unable to put the book down, but the romance suffered when the paranormal/sci-fi kicked in. Despite the main character being a teenager, I think this one borders on NA/Adult due to the degree of violence and sexual content.

I would like to say that if no one grabs this book and makes a movie out of it I will be sorely disappointed! I would love to see this on film. It was imaginative, exciting, fresh and new. It was so unusual that I was always sad when the time came that I had to put the book down for real life stuff. How refreshing to have a sci-fi/fantasy type novel that does not revolve around the typical vampires and werewolves story line. This author has one heck of an imagination and I truly look forward to the next book in the series! I felt the character development was wonderful and I felt a real connection to each of the characters. (even the bodyguards)

My only note for the author is that she used the term "older man" 24 times in the book and it became very repetitive. From page 20-27 the term "older man" is used on each page. I understand that the heroine in the book was 18 and the guy was 29....but I did not feel that the age gap warranted a constant reminder of the age difference. I did not see it as Taboo as the author seemed to want to portray. That is my only knit pick of the entire book.

This was another book that I entered to win on a whim. I wasn't to sure what it was about but i thought that the cover looked interesting. I didn't have any expectations going in but this book sucked me in and in a very short time. I finished the book in one sitting. I haven't read anything quite like it, ever. It's very hard to explain, it is basically aliens but with a mythological feel and undertones. The author went into great details creating the worlds and inhabitants of this novel.
The characters in this book were all so well described and developed. I loved getting to peel back Darrien's layers with Avery. I loved watching the thought process behind Avery's thoughts and actions. I'm excited for the next book to see where these two end up.
I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes different and unique stories. The Supreme Moment was such a great read and I look forward to reading book two.

I enjoyed reading it so much that I finished the story within two days. I purchased the kindle edition after reading the preview and entering the goodreads contest. It was interesting to read of beings from other universes besides the usual vampires, werewolves, etc. The main problem I had was that the heroine, Avery Morgan, was at times very brave and other times a bit clingy and too self-sacrificing, reminding me of Bella from Twilight. Everything happened really quickly, especially how they got together and fall for one another. As a teen and with all that happened to her, I guess I can't be too irritated with how she acted and her decisions. Especially after I read the ending and read what she lost. Looking forward to reading the next Fractured Multiverse novel in March!

I was given this to write an honest review.
Reading the synopsis made me want to read the book, it sounded a bit different from my usual reads and I honestly didn't know what to expect.
I was really enjoying the book until "bang" it's about aliens from other dimensions. I suppose had I read the whole title I may have put two and two together or even read the synopsis a couple of times, I may have engaged my brain slightly to read between the lines. After that I'll be honest and say I struggled to want to read it!
That said the book was well written hence the four stars and I'm sure if you like books about aliens then it's your cup of tea.

I suppose had I read the whole title I may have put two and two together or even read the synopsis a couple of times, I may have engaged my brain slightly to read between the lines. After that I'll be honest and say I struggled to want to read it!
That said the book was well written hence the four stars and I'm sure if you like books about aliens then it's your cup of tea.

At first The Supreme Moment reminded me of The Hunger Games. You have a teenage girl who's father is gone, and she's willing to sacrifice herself to keep her mother and little sister safe. Avery is very strong but she's also way more scared than she admits to being, which is another similarity to books like Hunger Games or Divergent. But that is not to say that this book isn't unique. It definitely is! The relationship between Avery and Darrion is developed with complexity, in an adult sort of way, that is both mysterious and believable. And the author's imagination and creativity are incredible! The Supreme Moment has a strong ending that won't disappoint, but the world that's been developed is so complex, I'm thinking there's room for many more novels. I hope so anyway!
