Pimo und Rex sind zwei galante Bonvivants und keine Kinder von Traurigkeit. Gemeinsam heizen sie auf ihren Rössern durch die Wälder. Die kleinen Plagen des Künstlerdaseins haben die beiden in der nächsten Taverne schon wieder vergessen. Schließlich hat Rex auch beste Neuigkeiten zu verkünden. Sein Freund Leopold hat ihm endlich einen Antrag gemacht, versüßt mit einem zauberhaften Verlobungsgeschenk: einer Schriftrolle, die Rex bei Bedarf sofort ins traute Heim beamt. Nicht ahnend, wie nützlich dieses Geschenk noch sein wird, feiern die beiden erst mal das freudige Ereignis.

Zwei spannende Abenteuer mit zwei tollkühnen Helden, die selbst verkatert noch eine gute Show liefern. In den Nebenrollen: eine magische Muse, ein tyrannischer Totenbeschwörer und ein paar gelangweilte Wiedererweckte.

Thomas Wellmann beweist in seinem dritten Buch, das bei Rotopolpress erscheint, sein Talent als hervorragender Geschichtenerzähler mit unverwechselbarem Stil.

About the author

Thomas Wellmann is a cartoonist and illustrator. He makes comics, 2d animation, character design for videogames and is a writer/storyboard artist on such shows as Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time. He has published numerous short stories in anthologies including Schick, The Royal Pantytime Society Of Pricewinning Stallions Club Magazine, Mikrokosmos, and Kushkomikss. He has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions with Rotopolpress in Kassel, Germany and at the Fumetto Festival in Luzern, Switzerland, and participated in numerous group shows around Germany. His graphic novels with Rotopolpress include Der Ziegensauger (2011), Renés Meditationen (2012), and Pimo & Rex (2013), which was co-published in English by BSB.

Thomas also teaches as a lecturer on drawing and comics at the University Of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf. He lives and works in Münster, Germany.

Els dibuixos tenen certa gràcia i l'univers és singular, però la història és un sense sentit caòtic, una mica inconmex i amb massa personatges que no saps d'on cauen.

Pretty art but storywise pretty mediocre. Some parts felt a little odd for something advertised as a kids comic.

J'imagine que tout dépend de votre humour mais bordel, qu'est-ce j'ai ri ! Ce n'est pas tant l'intrigue qui prime ici mais la diversité de personnages et leurs interactions qu'elles soient amicales, familiales ou amoureuses. Cette BD qui s'assimile facilement à un conte de fée réinventer n'est clairement pas l'histoire du siècle mais elle a le mérite de m'avoir fait passer un bon moment avec des protagonistes complètement frappé du casque. Ceci dit, au vu des saynètes proposées, il faudrait que je vérifie que cette histoire n'a pas connu d'autres volumes, avant ou/et après. Étonnant !

This book was a delight to read. I have been following the creator of this book for ages on Instagram, so when I saw there comics at a Indie store in Berlin I had to buy them, and they were a great treat. The art is stunning and the characters get on fantastically creating a magically wonderful read.

Un còmic com cada cop en trobem més que tergiversa els tropos de gènere. Tanmateix, aquest aconsegueix trobar el seu lloc propi amb alguns elements brillants i una bona galeria de personatges.

Now that was fun! Thomas Wellmann worked on a bunch of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon projects, and you can see some influence in Pimo & Rex. Not like an artstyle, but more like you can clearly see that the comics can be easily adapted to a cartoon. And I'm all in for it! Please, make it happen. <3 It's fun, it's quirky, it's bright, and oh! what a pleasure it is to look at the details in each panel! I wish everyone could hold this in their hands to see how cool it is.

Ik houd van het werk van Thomas Wellmann en zijn tekenstijl, omdat het zo nauw ligt bij wat ik zelf wil maken. Pimo & Rex bevat twee uiterst leuke avonturen waar de humor vanaf druipt en de details in de strippanelen bijna niet te tellen zijn.

Meget original, sprudlende og levende tegnestil og historie med et herligt farvevalg. Detaljerigdommen og det trygge univers minder mig om Jakob Martin Strid. Humor, magi og action i højeste gear.
