Flee by Miranda Kavi is an EPIC read!
Flee is one of those books that makes you shut out everything around you just so you can read. Flee is a story about a girl Aurora who has a special gift. She has kept this secret from everyone and plans on keeping it that way. She lives her life just like any normal person except that she can fly. Aurora is very shy and when she has a fender bender with Gavyn she is struck by him. But Aurora knows she has to stay away from him. The only thing is she can't stop thinking about him.
Then Aurora's secret is exposed and she has to go into hiding. She does not want to leave her family and friends but she must in order to keep them safe. She also does not want to leave Gavyn but she does not want to put him in harms way. A secret society helps Aurora by contacting her and letting her know she is in danger. Aurora will have to figure out what and who she is in order to fight this evil that comes for her.
This is a great story. It has some many emotions going on at once and to see Aurora and Gavyn build their relationship and try to survive the evil that lurks in the background. I will definitely be reading more from Miranda Kavi. She is the next indie author to follow!

Aurora Lockette isn’t your typical law student she can fly but she keeps that secret to herself and it’s caused her to have issues meeting a guy. When a chance encounter puts her in Gavyn Dhaval sights she doesn’t expect much. After all he’s an attractive actor filming in town for a short time. Even though Aurora knows she shouldn’t she can’t help falling in love with Gavyn and when he professes his love for her as well she knows she needs to tell him the truth. However before she can have a chance a little girl falls off the cliff while camping and without thinking she fly’s over the edge to save her.
Aurora does the only thing she can do and flee from Gavyn jumping on a plane and headed home to disappear with her mother before the media get’s attention. After all most of her fellow law students had eye witness accounts of seeing her flying when she caught the little girl. While there may not have been video footage the media storm brings out the crazy’s drawing unwanted attention for Aurora putting her family at risk. Thankfully she’s not the only one who can fly and with someone training she will join the fight on the good side. Will she ever be able to get over her lost love Gavyn? Will she survive her fight with the creatures stalking her?
I like Aurora she’s smart even when things went south quickly she’s level headed and she’s tough. I really liked that she’s going to school for law even if she’s not really sure if that’s what she want to do with her life. She joined the battle really quick but after losing your one love I don’t really blame her. I also like the chemistry between her and Gavyn it just works they complement each other. I’m curious to see how it’s all going to play out.
I picked this one up ages ago as a kindle freebie but never seemed to give it a shot. However the cover has changed and when I saw it again I knew that I had to read it. Besides who doesn’t love a law student who can flight and fights against a powerful enemy to save her family. I really like the concept for Flee it’s unique and tells a fast paced whirlwind romance and battle against evil. A perfect mix of action, romance, and just enough mystery to keep you guessing till the last page. I really enjoyed the author’s writing style the story is well written and flows from start to finish beautifully. Flee is one of those books that is hard to put down I ended up finishing it in just one even without stopping. I highly recommend if you like the supernatural you check it out.

Amazing!!!! Miranda Kavi is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. This book was even better than her last book. I couldn't put this book down for anything. It annoyed my husband..lol.
Aurora and Gavin were a swoon worthy couple. Who doesn't want that kind of romance? Both of their characters were well built and intriguing.
I was so sad when an unexpected situation broke them apart. I quickly figured out what was going to happen, but it didn't stop me from being glued to the pages.
My only complaint about this book was that it was way too short. I would really have enjoyed more about Alaska and maybe what happened after everything was said and done. I would even have enjoyed Aurora and Gavin having a more fleshed out courtship.
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed reading this book. I really hope the author considers putting out a sequel. There is enough material here to make a great second book. This book was excellent to read. The character of Aurora was someone to look up to because she was doing everything in her power to make something of herself. She had a strong moral attitude of what was right and wrong. Gavyn was a sweetheart, he was someone that I would want to fall in love with although I did think that their romance seemed hurried in parts, and overall it was believable.
Some parts were pretty predictable but overall the theme and pace of the story was awesome.

"I can fly. It's not as cool as it sounds. Actually, it really sucks."
Don't you just love it when the first sentence in a book grips you right away? It has everything - enough information and mystery to keep you intrigued. As a kid I frequently dreamed that I could fly (I blame Peter Pan for this obsession), so I was immediately interested to find out why would that suck. Except for the obvious reasons of course: wind messing up your hair and blowing up your skirt. :)
Aurora is just another girl who moved away from home to attend law school. On first glance there is nothing special about her. Except that she confessed to us her darkest secret. When she gets excited or stressed, Aurora can fly... just float up to the sky... And since you all know how stressful is new school and environment, she has this problem quite often.
Aurora tries to avoid people because she does not like attention. She is not shy, but careful because she does not want her little secret to be discovered. So how does she after one week in law school ends up as best friends to a hottie who is a star on a movie filmed nearby? Not only that, the other star of the movie - even hotter dark bad-but-not-so-bad boy is kinda flirting with her. To quote Aurora:
"I'm not sure when I'd been transported to a much cooler alternate dimension where I met movie stars on a daily basis."
Yeah right?
Although a little bit predictable, the first part of the book is still cute contemporary romance with light paranormal elements. And then it feels like someone told to the author that there is not enough paranormal in her book. So The Shyama enters the scene. Demon-like beings that hunt and kill gifted people. And the book explodes with random plot twists. There are dramatic escapes, fights, flying, and of course big show-down at the end. Again Aurora said it all:
"I was living in a poorly scripted science fiction B movie."
Flee by Miranda Kavi is a mix of contemporary romance and paranormal genre. There were a couple of good ideas, but due to the books shortness I feel like neither the romance or the paranormal elements of the story had enough time to be developed fully. A lot of things are told to us without explanation why, and we have to just accept them. Still, Flee by Miranda Kavi is interesting, fast-paced read - it will definitely hold your attention.
I recommend this book to fans of: contemporary romances set on college, handsome movie stars heroes, paranormal books about people with special abilities.

At first, I picked this book as an R2R (read to review) because of the pretty cover. The synopsis also captured me. I started reading on the last week of January because I had nothing else to do but sit there and wait for my sister. It started of fast, with her understanding how to control her powers and work them already, which is a very good point about this book because I just can't take some books where it takes forever. Anyways, the book started to get more exciting near the end, which is why I gave it a four stars. I just can't take it when the whole 3/4 of the book contains a lot of useless crap. Okay, maybe there were a few other good parts, but honestly, I could cut out a few parts and this book would be AMAZING. Other than that, Gavyn and Aurora's encounter was cute and quirky (I don't know why) and their relationship is just one of a kind. There was no such thing as I'm-gunna-stalk-you-till-we-both-admit-our-feelings-for-each-other kinda crap, which is even better! What bothered me the most though, was the fact that there were many grammar and spelling errors that I just couldn't get pass. If you are looking for a quick and easy read, pick up this book!

Flee was a really good and quick read. It was predictable in some parts, but had enough surprise left for me to discover. It had the appropriate amount of romance and action and suspense.
I enjoyed Aurora as a character, she seemed like a good person trying to make something of herself. And I loved her new friend Bree, they were definitely meant to be friends. I was sad at the end because they didn't say whether they stayed friends or not. I'll just assume they did.
I did enjoy the love interest and their romance. I felt that Aurora and Gavyn's love was kind of insta-love. They did go on a lot of dates, but it was a little quick for me.
I wish the author would have took a little bit more time to describe the "things" coming after her. Like why were they so scary? Why did they want her? Why did they chase her kind? It wasn't properly answered. You just knew that that's how it was.
I gave this book four stars. It was a good story, but wasn't amazing. I definitely recommend it.

Aurora has a very unusual secret, one that her mother has spent her life protecting. She can fly. Aurora has tried to lead an as normal life, settling in at law school, in Texas. Little did she know that being here was going to open this secret wide open and introduce her to a whole network of others, like her. Also, she meets her true bonded love, a British movie star, filming a movie, on the same campus. Everything takes an unexpected turn though and she has to struggle with her life, her new love, the safety of her family and her mission in life.
'It was a lie. I was afraid to run in the morning. I was afraid of the pecan grove. I was afraid because I could feel something watching me, even now.'
This story was not at all what I thought it would be! It took a turn that I was not expecting and was extremely fun to read. I hope the author keeps up with this story line, since this could turn out to be a fun series!

I really liked this book. It was refreshing to see a new addition into the recently created New Adult genre (for the 20 somethings). The characters are fun and easy to root for. The relationship between Aurora and Gavyn feels natural too. None of the “love at first sight must have you now” type stuff. It was interesting to see how Aurora really struggles with her ability to fly like it’s more of a burden then a gift, something she tries to clamp down on since she can’t always control when she feels the need to fly. This was a unique perspective from Kavi.
The story is steady paced and the plot keeps you guessing. I certainly never saw that barbeque scene coming, wow! My only con was how it ended, not that I didn’t like the ending, I did. I just thought it felt like it kinda wrapped itself up a little too conveniently and quickly. I am definitely looking forward to learning what else is in store for Aurora and Gavyn in the next installment!

Pretty good and yet, terribly short.
I can honestly say that Flee had my full attention. Aurora and Gavyn made my day. Aurora is a girl with a secret. She can fly. For the most of this book, I admire her control over her ability. It was so mysterious though. I still don't know exactly where her ability came from. Anyway, she meets Gavin, the movie star who's very humble, hot and nice. At first, the plot was nice and really kinda sweet. Gavyn and Aurora's scenes were very lovable. Then things started to be paranormal-ish. I cannot believe that things could go from hearts and flowers to badass fighting. The author was able to pull it off albeit, abruptly. It ended pretty nicely and I must admit that I was already able to figure out the twist to Gavin's character in the middle. ;p
If this is a series, I'd really love to know what'll happen to their relationship + their duty to the organization.
All in all, this one's a nice short read for a paranormal book. ;)

This is my second book from Miranda Kavi, so when I saw the chance to read it for free, I was all over it. I enjoyed her first book, Rua, and had high hopes for this one. I was not disappointed! I mean, look at it! This is a gorgeous cover!
I loved this book! It grabs your attention from the start and refuses to let you go. No midbook lull, just an all around fun book. My biggest complaint is that it's far too short!
Aurora was a fun character, but there we're many times that I wanted to shake some sense into her. I felt that it was so obvious that Gavyn was her handler, but she just wouldn't call! It was so frustrating, but I can definitely understand the fear of rejection.
Although it's not shown, this is obviously the start of a series. I hope Ms Kavi is a fast writer! I really want to read the next installment of Aurora and Gavyn's story!

It comes time, when you're reading that you know is not the contents of the book, but way is written.
That's how I felt when I read, Flee by Miranda Kavi . Somehow I knew what the intent was, because of the love that was put into this book.
Aurora did not fall in love right away it took time. It was like I there, I felt the fear and the goosebumps with her.
With that being said, Flee was an exciting story. This story takes you an adventure about a family, friends, and the dark one.
The story made me feel all the emotions, hopes and dreams of all the characters.
Pick up a copy and fly away for a day…….

Flee is a simple story that holds your interest till end . Aurora is the soul of the story her abilities, the way she handle them, her characterization are all different and hold interest in the story.
Flee is story of Aurora a law student who has ability to fly. She has kept her ability in control and secret. What do you mean it's over?!? LOL - I LOVED this book! So easy to read, and the characters were easy to get to know and care about.
Aurora is a great main character. Love that her mother is a force in her life even though she does not share the same gifts. Also love that there are references to other family members.
The little village that Aurora flees to is a great addition to the story. Great that she has place to go in order to be protected and learn about her gifts. I had a feeling that Gavyn would return!
I would definitely recommend this book and sincerely hope there is a another installment!!!

This fast-paced book captures your attention immediately and holds your interest as suspense builds. The main character, Aurora, has a superhuman gift that has altered her life as she struggles to just be "normal." She carefully manages and controls her ability only to find that an event suddenly and completely turns her life upside down as she struggles to survive. Highly recommended and I look forward to the sequel.

She gets thrown into a amazing world THAT I WANT TO READ MORE of.
I love how this is now normal paranormal book. It's different with different bad guys. I LOVE IT!!!!

Flee is an amazing story with a strong female main character. At the beginning of the book I was a little confused by the pace of it all. But, once I got started I could not stop reading. Aurora is a girl who is not afraid to take chances especially when if comes to taking care of those she cares about. My only real complaint at the end of the story was that it ended. I hope we will see more of Aurora and Co. in the future.

In this YA Paranormal, Aurora knows she can fly, knows she can't tell anyone and yet has managed a pretty ordinary life in spite of the whole flying thing. Enter hot guy, Gavyn. Cue the secret society and dangerous assassins.
This was a good read..fast and interesting. Loved the mom. She was kick ass. A YA love story with a twist.

I truly loved reading this book, FLEE. It is fast paced, but really good. I love the story. Awesome characters. Great story line. Well written. I am looking forward to reading more from Miranda Kavi. Definitely recommended.

Good Read. I'm glad Gavyn and Aurora are together they make an amazing couple.
There wasn't as much paranormal to the story as I thought there would be it was more romance.

Interesting. I liked the first half of the book better than the last half. After she hooked up with 'her people' things seemed to be building to a bigger crescendo that, to me, didn't materialize. Don't get me wrong. There are as some excitement but a bit lacking for me. I'm a sucker for a happy ending so, ultimately it will as a good book.

Aurora is a special girl...she can fly. Huge secret to keep for a young person! She's a smart, loyal and trustworthy girl. She's beginning her journey as a grown up, by going to law school in Texas, all alone. She meets a girl, Bree, who quickly becomes her one friend in life. Aurora's philosophy is that you have an easier time keeping secrets if you have no one to tell them to. While at school, she meets a couple of Hollywood actors that are filming a movie on campus and around the area. Troy quickly becomes her favorite workout buddy. He's got a great sense of humor and seems very loyal. She meets Gavin by rear-ending her car. They discover a real chemistry with each other over a few dates. He's a very popular Hollywood actor, so they have their run-ins with the papparazzi.
Aurora lives in an appartment alone that is very close to a forest of trees. She begins to feel uneasy during the early morning runs she takes, when she sees shadows moving around in the treeline. This totally freaks her out. However, her first semester at law school is going well. She has made two friends and even has a boyfriend. Jump to the before finals camping trip with her classmates. That's when all hell breaks loose. Aurora is forced to reveal herself to save someone. She knows that she won't be safe now, so she runs.
Traveling to meet her mom and flee really takes a toll on Aurora as she was just beginning to love Gavin and think about spending her life with him. She meets up with a secret society who swear to protect and teach her everything. (I think that this part could have been described in more detail. The description here is very mild, we really don't know enough yet about what is really going on even after Konstantin and Carmen do their best.)
Withouth spoiling the rest of the storyline for you, we abruptly make it to where she meets more people gifted with skills no normal human possess. I liked this story. It was a super fast read for me, but it still was able to keep my attention. I didn't feel like there were any slow parts. As usual, when I find a series I like, I run right out and buy the next book, and that is exactly what I did here. I am excited to read the next part in this series.

I’m on the fence with this one.
I liked the story. It was a good story. The world Kavi has created is interesting and I really would like to find out more about it. I liked the characters. They are interesting and I really wanted Aurora to find her happy ending. That says a lot since some books I’ve read I actually have rooted for the main characters to walk off cliffs so….um yeah.
The main reason I’m on the fence. The start of the book kinda annoyed me. Just the first page had me wondering/hoping it would get better. In the first sentence the main character says she can fly, but then just goes into the main character going to law school. The story really doesn’t go into her ability to fly until later in the book. I know that it should have drawn me in, but somehow it just didn’t.
Also I’m on the fence because I wish there had been more information given about Aurora and how she functioned earlier in life. I also would have enjoyed finding out more about the other people’s talents and how they worked etc.
I’m not sure if this is the first book in a series or not. It didn’t have a cliffie or anything. (Thank goodness) But it definitely could lead into an interesting new series. I don’t usually rate books with stars here but I would give it 3.5 if I did. Also I want to say that if I was given the chance to read more books in the series or by this author I definitely would. The issues that I had with the book could definitely have been my own personal ones and I don’t see why anyone else wouldn’t enjoy the book as well.

The story as a whole seemed to be rushed and needed to be fleshed out more. unfortunately, there were numerous spelling errors and grammatical errors in the novel as well. I was hoping for more.
If a sequel was to be written I would like to read it even though the rating is low there is a lot of potential. Perhaps a rewrite of this book.

23 year old Aurora just left home to move to Texas and start Law school. She keeps to herself because she has a secret. She can fly. She ends up making friends and even finds a love interest, the incredibly attractive and famous actor Gavyn. When everything in her life finally feels perfect, her secret is revealed and her entire world collapses.
In case you couldn't tell by the cover image, this is most certainly a romance. Yes there is action and mystery and a huge dollop of supernatural, but the whole underlying theme of the story was romance. I am a sucker for a good romance, so it was a pleasant surprise.
Aurora was the main character, but at times I was not happy with the choices she made. Personally, I think she liked having people take care of her, instead of being independent. She bounced around from her mom to Gavyn, to Konstantine... She never really stood on her own as a strong person. Yes she had mad skills and was physically strong, but I felt like she relied to heavily on others for her well-being. Also, I feel like she never gave Gavyn a chance, just assuming what he felt or would do, never asking. I will say she has herself a sweet set up at the end of the book. I hope that more books in the series will show her become her own person. I am completely fine with her being part of a team, as long as she is not needy and pulls her own weight.
The story could be a standalone, but I know more is to come and I look forward to the battles I know she has to face.

So I was really hoping to like this book because of the rave reviews that I've been seeing. The synopsis was very interesting and different from what I've read before. Sadly, I have to give this book a rating of 3 out of 5. The story was enjoyable enough to keep me interested and the writing style was good that it wasn't choppy to read. What I found was that the book didn't put me at the edge of my seat. I wish that the book had more action and suspense. I like a story that gives you clues about the mysteries that surrounds the story but not giving enough for the readers to predict it. In this book, I found that the clues were very minimal then once the revelation comes, everything is served to you all at once that it's so overwhelming. Another factor that I found was that I couldn't relate or connect to the characters. I feel that the characterization lacked depth. For example, midway the story, one of the characters stated that the heroine she was a "sharp little thing". For me, the character didn't act like she was sharp until after the comment was made. Lastly, I found that there were too many description of anything and everything that the main character was doing and observing, weirdly enough, the book didn't give any vivid imagery.

Here's what I think happened. Miranda Kavi had an awesome dream one night that she was dating a super-hot movie star dude, oh and she was a superhero too why not. When she woke up she immediately sent her best friend a bunch of texts describing everything that happened to her in this super awesome dream. That friend then combined all the texts together and published it as an ebook.
Seriously, this is probably the worst-designed novel I've ever read. Pacing is all but non-existent; the characters flow from one scene to the next, sometimes 3 or more different locales in the space of a single paragraph. Grammatical errors abound and even when turns of phrase get done properly, they're often inappropriate for the situation. Everyone who doesn't really matter to the heroine isn't described or fleshed-out at all. This isn't even dealing with the cliche subject matter, the extremely Mary-Sue main character, or the fact that the author's idea of what law school is like seems very much like high-school.
I've read fan-fiction that's better than this. It really seems like anybody can write YA fiction these days and get something of a following, even if only semi-literate.

I rec'd this book as part of my Goodreads.com lovers of paranormal group with a request to read and review.
This is an interesting one for me. I was ready for it to be "typical" and to be parts of it were but so much more of it was not. I enjoyed the characters she introduced and how they came into the stories.
My biggest critique of this book would be that it felt rushed but perhaps that's is because I read it very fast because I enjoyed it. Relations develop very quickly and are much more intense than I could credit as plausible but no less enjoyable for that fact.
There is so much information flying at the reader that you can completely understand how the main character Aurora feels when her life is changing every moment.
A completely enjoyable novel and I look forward to the next in the series.
