An ex-military lion shifter meets the girl next door amid danger, deception and a battle pitting the forces of good against evil. All the while, attraction sparks between them that just might lead to a love to last for all time...
Meg lives alone in a neighborhood with a very special secret. Since the death of her parents, she’s been sort of adopted by the old ladies in the area and brought into their circle. A very magical circle.
Rich and his brothers have been sent to Meg’s neighborhood to check out rumors of an enemy strike. They are recently retired from the military, but still working as freelancers on very particular missions because of their unique abilities.
When the brothers move in across the street from Meg, Rich can’t help but notice her. She’s breaking his heart with her sad eyes and lonely existence. He wants to keep her company – in every sense of the phrase – but his mission should come first. Rich is torn between the woman who could be the love of his life and the mission which might end the threat of the Destroyer once and for all.
They will face danger together, making magical discoveries along the way, but will it be enough to defeat the evil chasing them and bring them both through to a future spent together?

It's fine 🙂 the schism in the Kinkaid clan isn't really explained... honestly it makes the new trio seem like defensive jerks. Kinda skippable although it seems to be a connecting point between Grizzly Cove series and the Ancients one.

I honestly cannot even begin to say how much I love the world this author has created. The adventures, characters, emotional interactions… it all combines into stories that I read immediately upon release. Also, this cover is PHENOMENAL 🤯😍
Lionheart is the first in a small series within the larger world of ‘Tales of the Were’. This world encompasses small series where the Were, witches, fae, & other supernatural groups are banning together to try to repel one of their own. Someone that had been fought centuries ago & banished…but whose followers are trying to bring back.
I love this world…and I realized when reading this book, I’ve ‘missed’ quite a few books in other series (such as the entire Grizzly Cove series). So, over the next several months (after I finish this series & some others), I’ll be going ‘backwards’ and visiting Grizzly Cove.
Lionheart is Richard (Rich) Kinkaid & Margaret (Meg) Sheridan’s story.
Rich & his brothers are all retired Navy SEALs that still work for the government…but only answer to one man: Admiral Marrow. The one person who is also aware of their ‘difference’…they’re shapeshifters…specifically lion, with a touch of selkie.
There is a bully in the neighborhood…and I love this part of Meg & Rich’s earlier conversations:
“….And yes, he is rather large and intimidating. I like your phrasing, He really is a goon, but I believe you’ve just insulted all gorillas everywhere.”.
They’ve been sent to investigate a potential “problem” in Meg’s neighborhood…a threat against a coven of witches…who are so good at hiding—they’re technically in plain sight.
The threat: The Mater Priori, an supernatural that had been ‘bested’ centuries earlier & banished…only for her followers to have found a way to bring her back. Her followers are now trying to find ‘power’ for her to feast on.
Meg is living in the neighborhood she grew up in…in the home she shared with her parents…not quite sure why all the ladies in the area have ‘adopted’ her…turns out she’s fairly special herself.
Now…that’s about all I can say without giving everything away.
While Lionheart is the first in the Kinkaid shifter series, it does end in an happily-ever-after, & ‘assignments’ for the next two Kinkaid brothers. All three are available for purchase from various places.
I loved the book, and can’t wait to dive into Rich’s brothers stories & see who can bring those lion shifters to their knees. Five out of five stars
Bianca D'Arc never disappoints with her books. Never.
I loved Lionheart with Rich, Colt and Billy. I loved that she brought in new characters as well as some favorites. I loved Meg and boy was I surprised at what Mrs. N or was it Mrs. P revealed to Meg in the circle. OMG now I want to know who Meg's parents (biological) were. The Coven of Witches in this read was amazing. They were ancients and I laughed every time they shocked one of the guys with what came out of their mouths. Especially Mrs. N asking about Marrow and Sam and the Kincaid's. Also that she knew the Dr. from Hal's team got his power from a djinn (hope that's right). Just everything about this read was enjoyable. So based on how it ended with Jeff (another of Hal's team) told the brothers of their next missions we should be seeing Colt's book and Billy's book. I soooooo can't wait.
Meg lives in a small neighborhood and she all alone but for her friends the old ladies of the neighborhood. But three very good looking guys just moved into the house across the street and they just keep to themselves until one day one of them see her struggling to get her groceries inside before it rains. Rich has been keeping a eye on this neighborhood because of a tip about it having a large amount of magic but he’s not sure where it is and also there is just something about the women across the street. Soon they hear more of the threat against this neighborhood or coven of very powerful witches after meeting the elders of the coven he knows more and him and his brother and friends against evil. So enjoy the read and see how the fight turns out and what new developments happen!!
Omg I loved this book three brothers special ops are doing a recon in a small town and the eldest brother Richard has been watching the girl across the road the other day he saw the guy that there watching pay out on her so when she pulls up in her car and starts to get her shopping out he runs over and helps her he doesn't want her to have to deal with that scrum again but what they didn't know was the town is full of old ladies but there very powerful witches what happens next is love finding out things that he and her never new and more
The main male and female characters are well done but the real spark between them doesn't show up very well. Both seem to be busy taking care of others and doing their jobs and the romance is a bit of an afterthought. But the storyline set up in this book looks exciting. Looking forward to it
Story was about the oldest of three brothers that are lion shifters. They came for a mission and he and his lion lost his heart. I liked the story and characters though I felt the writing was a bit old fashioned. Have not read a book by the author in a very long time. Looking forward to reading about the brothers.
Enjoyed this next edition to the overarching storyline. Though the innocence of the main female character was overdone for me. I did not care for the computerized audio. There was nuance but not proper emphasis. Using only one voice left me confused as to the character speaking, and the upbeat tenor of the voice was just wrong for some of the dialog. It was like listening to my screen reader. Please use a person to read next time. Thank you Ms. D'Arc for being the prolific author you are. Cannot wait for your next story!
I just finished Lionheart and can’t wait to dive into the next chapter of this saga. Many old friends showed up so I may have to brush up on some other subsets of the story before I tackle the newest adventure. I look forward to visiting Plum Island again, as well as Grizzly Cove.
I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more in this series. It contained action and mates like many other books. However the story line varies from others and draws you in wanting to know more and what will happen next. I definitely recommend this reading.
I've read her books for a long time. And love she does series it allows you to come into and enjoy and even escape from reality once in a while. There fun, adventure, a few seating up to make sure alls well. A good quick ŕead. Recommend the author as well as the series and this book. Happy reading.
Bianca D'Arc does it again. Brilliant new story with tie back to the others. Lions, witches, and elementals who could ask for more. Absolutely, everything about the three Kinkaid men is fascinating. Great story.
Another amazing story! I'm so excited to meet new people and spend time with old friends. Lots of action and sooooo hard to wait for the next book. I love the guys from the island and it was good for them to be back in the picture! Amazing book!! Must read.
Bianca d’Arc has created such an intricate and amazing world I love going back to over and over. I love discovering all of the nuances and connections. She has woven such a complex tapatery and story I can't wait to see where she takes us next!
Hard to put down. This was a great read from beginning to end. It’s good as a stand alone but beyond good if you’ve read all the books in the previous series. No cliffhanger. HEA. Recommend.
Loved the book, could not put it down. I always look forward to this author's book releases. They never disappoint, in fact, I hate it when I finish it, I just want to continue the story. I am looking forward to het next treasure.
An excellent starter for at least three more books as the story draws closer to the final battle. I enjoyed this story and it left open the reason for the brothers separation from the pride. Looking forego the next brothers story.
As usual you have written an awesome on going story. Having action along with a romance lacks to a good read. I love all your books. I recommend this book to anyone interested in shape shifters along with magic. Bad vs good. Woo hoo!
❤️❤️❤️ Bianca did it again. Love these stories so much and this book staring the Kincaid brothers was just wonderful. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
What a start to a series, love how characters from previous stories are included and cannot wait to read the next two book to find out what happens next.
